@iloveeggnog Thanks! I don't know what happened this week but I'll take it. It doesn't even seem real that I could see onederland in October! It was so far away when I started.4

@xofarrah Happy Birthday, and good loss!
@alici0116 Good to hear your husband is recovering so well! And you are exercising, Yes lets go, October!
@ AlexandraFindsHerself1971 I hope you start feeling better, I find some months really difficult and others absolutely fine! Thanks for your words about my Dad, I spent the morning with him trying to sort out a routine for him and going to take supper around tomorrow. (Made sure he is taking meds and eating!!)
@torih941 Thanks, I'm amazed at how many people know someone with bi-polar! I'm happy you had a good shopping experience, I've never enjoyed shopping for obvious reasons! I did another run this am, and definitely felt more able, but the last 60 secs I really had to talk myself through!
@azalea4175 Wow I found your post so interesting and completely agree with you and the Dr! I've tried 100's of times to loose weight only to fail. But now its different, my age, my why, and then the support! I do believe its a disease we will have to maintain forever!
@PennycillinEQ Well done!
@Riddikulus89 Love your analysis! It is a number's game thats for sure, but I also appreciate your assessment of where you went wrong and how to change. I used to be all or nothing, very good or very bad. I'm changing because that way doesn't work at all.
@RavenStCloud Thanks for fang-tastic October, see you on the flipside!

Sept GW: 194
Next mini goal: Get into the 180's
Next BIG goal: 174 lbs (out of obese, into overweight)
Sorry I disappeared this month. It has been a tough one. My job announced a surprise restructure (boss and grand-boss were laid off among others, our department was moved and is still being renamed), and the following week my grandma passed away. I'm going home for the funeral this weekend (and taking two weeks off to have time back with my family), and the next round of job layoffs will be announced in two weeks. BUT despite all this, I was able to hit my goals this month.
🍁 Be proactive about healing my heel. I have a night splint, an ice pack, and a massage ball. If that doesn't work, off to find a podiatrist. The splint and ice massage have been working. My heel is getting better, and I've started walking again in the mornings (up to about 4 miles at a time).
🍁 Manage my anxiety. I do this better when I'm more physically active, but have many tools for this. I need to use them more often, and more proactively. It was a tough month, anxiety-wise, but I got through it. Still need to work on more meditation and breathing techniques, but I'll call getting through this month a success!
🍁 Bike rides once a week - I want to find some longer trails so I can start building up my distance again, probably 20-30 per ride for now. Ultimately I'll plan on 40-50 mile days for my trip later this fall (on gravel), but my butt isn't ready for that yet! We did great on this! Husband and I went every week except this last weekend (had other plans), and have been doing about 22-25 mile rides. Its a great route, and I'm really pleased with our progress.
🍁 I'd like to see my weight below 195 this month. Score! Lowest this month was 193.6 (back to 195 today). Now I'm going home for two weeks of mom's delicious, plentiful, and calorific cooking, so we'll see what happens in October lol. But I'd like to say that I am out of the 200's for good! 180's-ho!7 -
@Riddikulus89 I don’t plan maintenance days monthly but I also let myself have a higher day here and there - not over maintenance. However I do plan to have a maintenance period at 10% loss. Good month for you!
@PennycillinEQ good job staying with it.
@torih941 I hope your Mom recovers well. Take care.
@RavenStCloud Thanks
@xofarrah Happy Birthday
@alicap0116 Glad your husband is doing better and you are getting back in the exercise grove. Here’s to a great October. My second favorite month.
@MuttiNM you are so close to onderland.
@eliezalot I am sorry about your loss. They are thinking of moving my husband’s division to another department and that has us stressed too since I already have been laid off. They promised no job changes for a year though. Glad your heel is better.
It has been a busy day for me and I am surprised how late it is for me to post after reading posts earlier. I woke up and checked email and there was a request for a background check for the job I have interviewed for. so I am guessing I may be the top candidate at this point. So I had to fill that out. I emailed my sister in France a bit, texted my sister here and called my Mom. I applied to a job. Then it was time for dinner. My daughter made it. Asparagus soup yum. I am coming down weight wise but no net loss yet. Last month I lost between the 2 months. I went for a walk after dinner and did a small run interval. So so far my goal of exercise every week day has been followed. Tomorrow I plan to do that low impact video that has the core exercises I feel it hits strength training.
The nice surprise of this month is that without planning it I started to fit running intervals into my walks. I did buy new running shoes but that was because they were good for my feet. I have missed running and my research is that it isn’t so bad for arthritis in the knee so I guess it wasn’t a plan but a hope realized. I am taking it slow and only want to get back to interval run/walks. See you all in the next thread.
