you strap em to the outside of your pack, you hike in, you set up, you take off the hiking boots/trailrunners and socks, and slap the crocs on to let your feet breathe a bit. they're lightweight so they're easy to carry. but they're also rigid enough to keep your feet safe around the campsite. plus you can leave them outside the tent and if a raccoon comes along to steal one of them its not that big a deal.
You can also use them as a croc pot to cook your beans
this is oddly creepy to me3 -

I once saw this special on lottery winners and they asked this guys... "Does money buy happiness?"
And he replied...

I'll certainly volunteer for a case study.3 -

I've been rich & I've been poor.
... rich is better.
imho - financial wealth makes happy people happier and miserable folks more miserable.

I recently listened to a great course on why people think the way they do - there was a study that said 6 months after winning the lottery people's happiness level returns to where it was prior to winning.1 -

I have seen some evidence that the threshold is 75k/year. Below that more money does make you happier, you worry less about financial difficulties and can afford the basic comforts of life. The gains in happiness from getting more money after that drops drastically.
I am sure the exact threshold varies depending on cost of living in your area, but it seems like a sound theory.3 -

Yes, this..
There's a difference between wealth you've worked hard for and suddenly coming into money from a lottery win.
Being wealthy enough to be able to pay your bills with no worries, replace things easily when they break, not to have to budget for items.. yeah, it is good but more so that it was earnt. @Motorsheen is correct though about chasing material things for the sake of owning material things.. it can be a trap no matter where your money comes from.

75k ?!?!
So.... like ya know, can I borrow twenty bucks??
I’ll pay you back.... umm, kinda soon.0 -
Much smaller scale than the lottery here but I can say...
Almost 2yrs ago I left my job for another company... I had to take a pretty significant pay cut to do so but early next year I'll be making pretty close to what I was making before...
And eventually I'll be making more than I was at my previous employer...
But for now and in particular over the last few years, things have been tighter than I'm use to for sure...
But I love my job and I'm just happier now in spite of it all... I have some pretty great coworkers and while every bunch has a few sour apples.... I just couldn't ask for much more...6 -

I disagree... Its enjoying nature. Its putting your phone down and breathing, just being. Its no TV, no phone, no distractions. Fires, blankets, mountains and crisp air. Sometimes its endless conversations and sometimes its sitting in silence while listening to the creatures chirp.
***Although by the end of the camping trip im looking, smelling, and feeling pretty homeless 😬6 -

i think its just what you make of it.
some people like backpacking and and being away from everyone else with the wind blowing in the trees at night.
some people like glamping/car camping and having a roaring fire and friends around.
some people don't like either, but that just means they enjoy other things instead.
basically if you want to like it you will i guess.
plus one time i was out in the woods and recording wood knocking noises off in the distance.
and im not necessarily saying i believe in bigfoot, but maybe bigfoot believes in me at least.5
