30 pounds to lose challenge by March 2021

I had a good week. Started out tracking and ended just being mindful. I only had alcohol (2 drinks) one night (as opposed to daily).
Starting weight 12/26/20 138.2
Goal weight March 2021 127 (maintenance range below 130)

01/01/21 135.6 (saw 135.0 twice this week)

25 lbs to go, I think. I'll weigh in tomorrow. I have dropped half and half from my coffee as of today and the black tastes terrible, but I will drink it because I need the caffeine. No doubt I will drink less of it which is good thing I suppose. Besides losing the weight, I am committed to going through paper work and I started shredding old checks and bank statements. I am on 1995 and 6. It is a trip, looking at these old checks and walking down memory lane. Checks to my kid's elementary school, Girl Scouts, stores that no longer exist, etc. I need to stop looking at each one or I will never finish.
@JenT304 I am not sure if this is an option where you live, but our garbage collector will drop off a bin for documents to be shredded. We call when it is ready and they send the shred truck out. We don't pay for the bin. They just charge by the weight of the documents shredded. They give you a certified document indicating they shredded it. Just a suggestion in case you want to get done faster.4 -
I am joining the challenge. Had a liver transplant Aug 6, 2020. Autoimmune diseases.... now fill great need to lose 30 more also a little more9

@RubyRed427 What IF schedule are you doing? I did it for about a month last March, but then Covid. I really would like to start up again because I enjoy cooking and would like to have a nice guilt free evening meal with my husband. Do you follow Gin Stephens and the Delay, Don't Deny group? I am going to see if I can get back to an 18:6 schedule. Just have to cut the Diet Coke (I don't drink coffee so the only other option is water for a clean fast.)3 -

A tip for you...I'm not a hot coffee drinker but I know people that use Premier Protein (vanilla or caramel) instead of cream!!! As for myself I like a shot of espresso with the caramel Premier Protein in a venti cup!!! My guilty pleasure but low calories, fat and sugar while high in protein! Enjoy!!!6 -

I am a beginner but I do 16:8. I will have to look up Gin Stephens- I have not heard of the group.
Coffee is a problem for me. I sometimes sneak a dollop of skim milk in my coffee which I am sure breaks the fast but I just can't cope with black coffee yet.
I had tea a few mornings and it's not the same ... probably because I am missing the sugar from creamer.
I am much better at IF than just counting calories - but both are effective.2 -

Wow, December really put a dent in my progress! I was at 287 on December 1st, 282 on December 21st, 286 on December 27th, and ended at 283.3 on December 31st. But I'm back on track now I think, and ready to tackle this 30 pound challenge. I'll be weighing in on Fridays.

With December gone I have officially finished my first month of this weight loss journey. Starting the month at 177.5 I have officially lost 4.5 pounds and am down to 173. Even though I am still a pound away from my December goal, I am extremely happy with this loss. I already feel more energetic and my clothes are starting to fit again. Hopefully this continues in 2021!

With December gone I have officially finished my first month of this weight loss journey. Starting the month at 177.5 I have officially lost 4.5 pounds and am down to 173. Even though I am still a pound away from my December goal, I am extremely happy with this loss. I already feel more energetic and my clothes are starting to fit again. Hopefully this continues in 2021!

Despite these numbers, I feel like I am on the right track. I have taken so many of the tips here and started to apply them. The one about writing down what you intend to eat at the beginning of the day then adjusting if necessary, really is a good one. And I will try the protein shake in my coffee as suggested by someone else, instead of cream.8 -

I could use some low calorie and healthy snack ideas. I am eating 2 a day between meals. One of my favorites is a wedge of laughing cow cheese (30 calories) along with carrot and celery sticks. I also like Wasa crackers (35 calories for a large one) spread with the tiniest amount of cream cheese then topped with smoked salmon or smoked trout and cucumber slices. Or, spread with avacado and blob of salsa. Anyone else have some favorites to share here? Thank you!5

I'm in!! I'm ready to do whatever it takes to shed what's weighing me down mentally and physically. It's 4lb more to lose than what mfp says I'll lose if I stay in my calorie range.

I like the sugar free jello cups in the dairy isle with a scoop of cool whip for something sweet. That is like 35 calories total. I can have 2 at that rate.4 -
Not a good month for me, but I plan to do better in January. I think my biggest problem in December was that I started snacking a lot, almost unconsciously. This month, I will eliminate all snacks except the ones immediately after intense cardio exercise sessions. Also, I'm going to try some HIIT (walk/run interval training) instead of walking/hiking for my cardio.

I'm 37 years old, married, we have a 2 year old. My goal for this challenge is to lose 15-20 lbs. 2020 starting weight was 225. My ultimate goal weight is 135-140 I'll plan for Saturday weigh ins.

Forgot to post this yesterday. I'm going to weigh in on Friday's. Good week to begin with. Exercised everyday Bike, Strength, Yoga and Walked. Burned more than 2,200 calories over 282 minutes of exercise. Averaging 449.4 cal and 56.4 min. per workout. Need to keep this going.

Some of my favourite healthy snacks are hard boiled eggs/deviled eggs, veggies and hummus, plain Greek yogurt with berries honey and granola, air popped popcorn, apple slices and peanut butter, fruit smoothies with spinach and flax/chia seeds, frozen dark chocolate covered banana slices, frozen yogurt covered berries, dehydrated fruit, nut butter oat cups, chicken/turkey lettuce wraps, baked chickpeas (spiced up with taco seasoning, Italian seasoning, hot sauce, anything really), homemade oat bars (lots of recipes online), and homemade energy balls (lots of recipes online) I love chocolate so I add a ton of cocoa powder to my energy balls! I also make a big batch and keep them in the freezer6 -
