Day 3 of Intermittent fasting going well. Since I sleep a lot of the time during the 16 hour window it is a little easier. Plus, I like having a plan, so not eating til 11:00 am today is a plan and I won't be shoving my daughter's cookies in my mouth this morning mindlessly.

Next measurements ought to be better because everything is shaping up. I’m currently trying to decide whether I want to start weighing just 1x a week....the daily weigh ins can play with the mind. https://8minuteworkouts.com/programs/30-day-shape-up/
I tried losing weight several years back and I was doing daily weigh ins. It definitely messed with my mind because I was getting upset when there was no downward progress for two or three days in a row. I always felt like I was doing something wrong. I even got a bit depressed and eventually gave up (there were also other reasons). Anyway, when I restarted my diet this year, I decided to weigh only once per week. It seems easier not obsessing about the weigh in every single morning. I've recently added a midweek weigh in, one that I don't record. I use this unrecorded weight to check my progress, see if I need to increase my workouts or reduce daily calories before the weekly recorded weigh in.. So, I would recommend trying something like that - just weigh yourself once or twice a week.

I've dropped around 30 lbs still need to lose another 30 though... gotta get through Christmas first lmao7

I've been intermittent Fasting since October it makes me feel great knowing I'm not overeating and ive lost 30 lbs since October also I have a chest meal on weekends I found out it helps me maintain and continue my diet3

I have thrown a Christmas Eve party for family and friends every year for at least 30 years. While sad that I can't do this in 2020, I can take some solace in the fact that I will not have those foods and leftovers in my house, tempting me. I usually make a mac and cheese that is so decadent, my father used to refer to it as a "cardiologist's delight". Since it will just be me and my husband this year, I'll keep it simple, and healthy.8

Good for you that can intermittently fast. I have tried a few times and it just makes me cranky. Plus I eat too much once the eating hour arrives. I do have friends that have had success with it though.5

Holidays can be tough on weight loss goals. I am finding that recording my food log at the beginning of the day with what I expect to eat and adjusting as I go has helped tremendously. Most holidays I over indulge but I’ve been on track with this plan. It has helped me make better choices.
Be well everyone.6 -

I like that plan! A midweek checkin, but a Saturday WI will allow me to not spend mental time on the daily weighs. Thanks!7 -
I may not be weighing in on Saturday. There was excessive overeating this week and yesterday in particluar. The struggle is real!11

Holidays are so very hard. And this year has been so very hard And, the scales do tell the story.
Just don’t beat yourself up and begin again. You can do it. We all can.
Be well.8 -

Merry Christmas!
We have a very snowy Christmas here in the midwest which is nice.
12/5 191 lbs. (this may have been a false weight / scale sometime is weird.)
12/12 186
12/19 185
12/25 184.2
IF is working for me. I think my stomach is starting to shrink. I am not that hungry even as I approach the noon hour when I can eat.
I am going to try it for one month just to see.
It's also good to have a cut off time when you will not have anymore food. Mine is 7:30 p.m.

Holiday tip: Don't waste your calories on mediocre chocolate or desserts. Make it count. Just eat a few bites of truly delicious sweets.

Every good journey has a couple stops along the way.
Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays to all.

I weighed in, knowing full well I gained and I have. I decided when I joined this challange I'd report the good and the bad as that's what being accountable means.
Started: 170
last sat 164
today 165.8
My goal was 2 lbs per week, but going the other direction. It's Christmas, it's Covid and I am going to be kind to myself. I did keep to my no alcohol goal which actually for me personally, is more important. Onward.9 -
Hi ,I'll join too. Ideally 22 lbs but more would be ok.
Im currently 165lbs ( 75kg ) and Goal weight is 136lbs (62kg)
I haven't started to focus but perhaps this will be the start of something positive 🙂🚶♀️

@RubyRed427 Thank you for starting this challenge. Although I don't have 30 pounds to lose I would like to join in and lose 10 lbs to get back to my happy weight. I have gained 7.8 lbs since the pandemic started in March. I also have been dealing with frozen shoulder so I went from Pilates Reformer classes 5 days a week to mainly walking/hiking for exercise. There is definitely a big change (for the worse) in my body composition. 3 years ago I was in the best shape of my life at 52. My goal is to get back there.
My plan:- Eliminate the nightly 1-2 vodka/sodas. Although vodka isn't highly caloric - over the course of a week it is around a 1000 calories (1 lb per month.) After doing the math I think I know where the 8 lbs came from! Additionally it is just a really bad habit.
- Try and find some strength / toning exercises I can do with my frozen shoulder
- Eliminate the "handfuls" I eat a couple of times a day. Nuts/crackers/chocolate chips. This is a habit, not hunger.
Starting weight 12/26/20 138.2
Goal weight March 2021 127 (maintenance range below 130)10 -
@BronTonRollyBeau Welcome ! There are a lot of good tips on this thread. Enjoy reading them and let's get started.
@fitand50inSD We are the same age! I hear that Pilates reformer classes are awesome. My neighbor does them. I have yet to try it. Welcome to our group!

I fell off the healthy-eating wagon and am hopping back on...I haven't tracked for a few days so will be back on track with that. I feel tons better when I am on point with good habits, so back at it!
@frankwbrown I like your saying, "A good journey has a couple of stops along the way."
My eating app quote today is from Confucius "Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." Pretty much sums me up!7 -

I like inspirational sayings. I might have previously mentioned the following quotes, in this thread or another. Some of them are funny, and they each address achieving ones goals slightly differently, but taken together they inspire me. They are stuck to my fridge along with my "100 pounds" I'm crossing off as I lose them.

Was going to upload a pic of my small effort but it wouldn't transfer.
Actually managed to use my treadmill today 🙂
3km walk in 30 mins
336 calories
And managed 20 squats using the treadmill for support. 🚶♀️12 -
