Struggle: It was hard getting back to seriously trying to lose a few.
Success: Last week I made a commitment in my effort to get back to goal or a bit under. I said:
"I am going to go for short walks every day to get my metabolism up, lower my calories because I'm not moving as much, and tracking very accurately - no guessing." And I did as planned. I'm on my way. Now to repeat for next week.8 -

My weight has been less than 48 kg for over 3 weeks, holding steady, but I don’t need to be this skinny. In normal times my weight goes up a bit every time I go on holiday then I bring it down again, yo-yoing just a little. Now we’re not going anywhere, even out for a coffee and cake I’m having trouble getting my weight up! A funny state of affairs
It’s cold and wet here, hope spring comes soon.

I have been in my maintenance range since late October, and hit my goal weight of 75kg just after Christmas, but that was a dip that I haven't yet got back to. I plan to maintain for a while at 75 kg, and then perhaps adjust my maintenance weight down to 72 kg (+/- 2.5 kg). Ideally I would like my rolling averages to be coming out as 75 kg +/- 0.5 kg, and I am still about 1kg off this at the moment.
Successes/struggles: Exercised most days this week, which was good. My weight was very steady this week, but around 76.5 kg which is 1.5 kg above where I'd like to be. I have not been tracking since Christmas. I'll start again on Ash Wednesday (17 February) and go through to Easter with no chocolate or alcohol, and aiming my calorie intake at a 1lb per week deficit. That should mean that I am back below 75kg by Easter.
The good news is that I am maintaining, just at 76 kg rather than 75 kg. However, this is well within my normal bmi range.

Struggle/Success: I had to pull back on my steps in order to get a yoga session in but it's worked out well - steps aren't everything. Eating has settled down. Not quite in the 54-55kg range yet, but I'm hopeful it will come naturally in the next month or so.2 -

Success/Struggles: Ooh, it was a bad week eating and exercise wise. I made a coconut layer cake for my husband's birthday and ate a slice each night for 4 nights. This was no ordinary cake. It had a pound of butter and a pound of cream cheese in it, not to mention mounds and mounds of coconut. When I logged the recipe in MFP, a small slice was 850 calories. I went with very low calorie, high protein breakfast and lunches, but more than made up for the deficit with dinner, dessert, and some snacking that I am not proud of before dinner because I was ravenously hungry. The remaining cake is in the freezer. I did a good job with running, but neglected body weight exercises. At any rate, the fact that my average weight for the week remains under 165 is a victory.5 -

I’d like to lose a bit to get back to 70 kg, but I’m still happy at around 75 kg.
I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.

Successes/Struggles: This week was just kinda blah. Not motivated to do much, work was uneventful and basically didn't leave the house all week. We have a crapton of snow (not new snow, the stuff that sticks around and ices over). It's been gray out every day but one where like magic we saw sunshine for an hour or two!

Successes/struggles of the week: Slowly but surely moving back down towards the 110's, which is where I prefer to be in my range. I went on a hike this weekend, which I've been on before and it's not normally too physically challenging - rocky parts, so a bit demanding, but nothing too crazy. However, it had snowed last weekend, and apparently the park where I went is facing the wrong direction away from the sun, so not everything had melted and there were a few pretty precarious sections where it was extremely icy and that made it pretty challenging to get a good grip/footing and not slide down rocky hills. One mile of the hike, which I would usually complete in about 25 minutes, ended up taking 40 minutes! On the eating front, I kept my calories on the low end for most days and then went all out yesterday with pastries, ice cream, a giant burger, and fries.6 -

Success of the week: I earned a new professional certification. Has nothing to do with weight management or fitness, but it's something I can celebrate. I crushed the exam.

I am now at my heaviest weight in three years all the way back to when I was losing the first time. I know I can fix this, and that's also frustrating because I don't seem to be doing it.5 -

I had my first Covid vaccine on Tuesday – hurrah!! – woke up with a headache and slightly raised temperature the next day. My weight spiked up for a couple of days while my body dealt with the vaccine, but is lower than ever today.
Otherwise, just same old same old. Struggling with mental health issues – the pandemic on top of my son’s diagnosis is just so difficult. Getting outside helps but the weather is cold and wet so not very uplifting.
Roll on spring.

Success: I followed my new plan for the second week in a row. I want to lose the couple of lbs I recently gained and it seems to be working. I will follow the plan even if it doesn't show progress because I lose so slowly. I might even show a little gain next week but that is the way my body works. Fortunately I have been in maintenance long enough to this is how it works.
Struggle: I get hungry (I'm not depriving myself, it is okay to be hungry now and then). I also just want to splurge now and then. I'm hoping the third week means this new way becomes a habit and it gets easier.5 -

On the search for filling low-calorie lunches suitable for snowy weather. I'll start again on Ash Wednesday (17 February) and go through to Easter with no chocolate or alcohol, and aiming my calorie intake at a 1lb per week deficit. That should mean that I am back below 75kg by Easter.
The plus is that this is well within my normal bmi range.2 -
@charmmeth - I'm someone who finds high protein meals keep me full longer. If that is the case for you, I have been eating Rotisserie Chicken Breast wrap sandwiches lately. Only about 300 calories with 41 grams of protein. Costco sells rotisserie chicken breast already pulled from the bird, which is really convenient. I use low carb tortilla wraps (both Mission and Don Pancho make them and they are really good. I add a tablespoon of low calorie dressing and some lettuce It's fast, tasty, convenient and filling. I'll do some variation of a wrap sandwich most weekdays subbing ham or turkey for the protein and switching up the dressing. Not super exciting, but it helps me hit my macro and calorie goals.2

Success/Struggles: After hitting 167.1 on the scale on Monday, I decided it was time to get down to brass tacks and got religious about logging again. It worked. Took a few days but by Friday I was at 162,2 and today, 161.6. So managed to eek out a weekly weight just under 165. But I've still be indulging myself in dessert (which is the best thing, IMO, about maintenance).
We got hit with a ton of snow (well, for us - we aren't used to it here) so while we are snowed in, I've been procrastibaking like crazy. But I've also been freezing leftovers, giving them away, and making a plan for the indulgence at the start of the day. My strategy: log dessert first - then figure out what you can eat around it to make it work.4 -

Successes/struggles of the week: Weight is a bit up again this week, but that was TOM water weight and a high-sodium/carb sushi dinner thrown in there. I had a planned hike today which didn't happen due to rainy/icy weather, so I'm a bit behind in my steps.1 -

I’d like to lose a bit to get back to 70 kg, but I’m still happy at around 75 kg.
I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.

Did a 4 km walk and a slow 5 km walk/run this week. I think I'm learning that some ways I sit make my hip worse, and I've been sitting differently. Slightly less pain.

Success/Struggles: Exercise has been a little lower this week due to unusually cold and snowy conditions. I live in Texas and we don't have a lot of real cold. Right now it is 8°F feels like -8 and snowing. Needless to say I did not do my long run today. I did get out yesterday when it was "only" 17°F feels like 4. But I only ran 1.35 miles instead of the usual 9 or 10 on the weekend. Today my husband and I went out and ran around the block for a whopping. 32 miles just to say we ran when it was 10°F feels like -6. But even though my exercise was below average my weight has stayed about the same so I am not worried about it. I'm sure this cold will pass and we'll be back to complaining about the heat soon enough. I hope so. I prefer the heat. 😊

Successes:
Really, deeply figured out what triggered the change the past couple of months... (one issue was masking the real deeper issue) & decided my wt creeping up each week would not solve the problem OR make me feel better.
Realized wt had been creeping up for awhile, but now was 0.4 per well & heading up.
Clean eating & exercise since Feb 9. Broke back into the 154’s today!!
Struggles:
“Realized the confusion & I don’t know why this is happening” was part of the illness of obesity. Took a deep look. Calories were up.

Now I know when I’m feeling confused to look at all my calorie data with fresh eyes & ask myself what feeling do I mot want to feel.

Nothing interesting to report. Yesterday had a nice 3 course lunch with my boyfriend and later called in to see my mum – her 92nd birthday – for a zoom with my daughter, son, and all four children.
Still struggling to raise my weight up over 48 kg, but it’s not a serious problem - I'm sure that once we can get out and about a bit more it will soon correct itself.

Success: I am really excited that I am back at goal on my "official" weigh-in day. I noticed that I wasn't at goal since 11/24/20. Just a little over but it was moving up. Stopped it! Down to goal! That is what maintenance is all about.
Struggle: I caught some "cheating" going on. Then I skipped doing do my mini-walks because of deep snow. Finally, I had a high calorie Valentine's breakfast yesterday (not actually a struggle ). This is point that I really need to knuckle down and follow the plan or the weight will come right back on.5 -
@speyerj That's really helpful, thank you. I am in Germany at present so can't shop where you do and don't have the same products available so will need to do a bit of translating, but I have been thinking too that I probably need to go higher protein for my lunch. My challenge is that if I cut back on carbs I don't feel full and lose energy even with high protein, so it's a balancing act. I think I'll try tuna and peas with a dollop of yoghurt and a little rice and see how that works.

I have been in my maintenance range since late October, and hit my goal weight of 75kg just after Christmas, but that was a dip that I haven't yet got back to. The last five days have been steady at 77.1 which is towards the top of my maintenance range. Ideally I would like my rolling averages to be coming out as 75 kg +/- 0.5 kg, and I am currently 2kg off this.
Successes/struggles: Exercised most days this past week, which was good, mostly Bodyfit by Amy (I have joined her Bodyfit Athletics club) but also a ballet class and a lovely winter walk in Sunday afternoon (crisp, snowy and clear!). I consciously ate less at lunch this past week and that has at least kept my weight stable. As of tomorrow (Ash Wednesday) I shall be giving up chocolate and alcohol until Easter and also plan to track food again. I would hope to be back at or even below 75kg by Easter. I have to keep reminding myself that even at this weight I am down at least 11 kg since last May (22lbs), and am comfortably within my normal bmi range.

Success/Struggles: Hooray! After two weeks of good solid logging, my average weight dropped back down to where I want it to be. Struggles for the week was not being able to run for a week due to the ice storm, but I went out today now that things have thawed.3
