MY CHALLENGE GOAL: lose 30 pounds by July 30th (17 weeks)
highest weight: 330 (7/10/2020)
challenge starting weight: 264.0
challenge goal weight: 234.0
ultimate goal weight: 210-220 (whatever gets me down to 20% body fat)
Mar 31 : 264.0 (starting weight)
Apr 02 : 261.9 : lost 2.1, total loss = 2.1
Apr 09 : 261.2 : lost 0.7, total loss = 2.8
Apr 16 : 265.3 : gained 4.1, total loss = -1.3

Jul 30 :
Goal : 234.0 : desired loss = 30.0
Actual :
(This weight gain is a mystery to me. I was hospitalized Monday until yesterday, during which time my diet went from "no food or drink" Monday evening, to "clear liquid" Wednesday noon, to "full liquid" Thursday morning. I had negligible activity during this time, but still, I'm surprised that I would gain 4 pounds eating so little. I am back now, and hopefully my weight will get back on track soon.)8 -

Smaller loss but I'm never going to be mad at nearly a pound and a half loss and I'm so much happier about the choices I made this week. I realy cleaned up my sugar indulgences this week. I wasn't as active as I wanted to be thanks to work but I have a super active weekend planned. A 12 mile hike on Sunday. I could die. It was nice to have met you all. Feeling much happier with myself, ordered bigger shorts, hopefully it ends up being a complete waste of money.8 -
April 2nd 170
April 9th 171
But I'm walked 10,000 steps 5 days and did 2 weights workouts so I'm ignoring the gain
April 16th 169
As a side note, years ago I put 170 down as my goal weight as the 150 I need for a healthy bmi seemed unattainable.

Sorry to hear you were ill! As you know, that gain could be anything related to fluids and a significant change to routine due to the hospitalization, and highly unlikely to actually be related to your body mass. Focus on taking care of yourself and perhaps you will see a big drop next week as your body heals and regulates!7

Sorry you were hospitalized. Maybe your gain is due to medicine and fluid retention. Hope you are feeling much better!5 -
It’s been a very stressful week at work plus closing on buying a new house. Struggled a bit to stick to my meal plan but fortunately I have a freezer full of batch cooked portioned meals which definitely helped when I had no motivation to cook.

Just came across this saying, and it seems spot on -- regarding our need to stay committed to our purpose:
“Success in never owned, it is rented, and the rent is do every day” – Author Unknown8 -
I took my 84 year old mother out for her birthday lunch yesterday. She was noticeably slimmer and I asked her about it. She said, " I eat what I want but I just started controlling my portion size." She has lost 20 lbs in a few months. She does walk but really, not a lot. So I am here to tell you that no matter what your age, you CAN lose weight if you just eat mindfully! I am very inspired by her and really going to focus on HOW much I eat and not so much on WHAT.11

I bought a bridesmaid dress on Feb 14, 2020 for a wedding that was supposed to be August 2020. I was about 250 then. Since, covid hit, i gained 35 lbs, and the wedding was postponed until August of this year. I need to get back to at least 250 before August so I can wear the dress I already paid for!11 -

Hi all,
Happy Sunday! Today:
Starting weight (March 21): 233.4
April 1st: 222.4
April 11th: 217.3
April 18th: 215.6
Loss so far this month: 6.8 pounds
Goal for July 31: 195
Ultimate goal: 180ish
It has been really helpful to know this check in is on the horizon, keeps me on track. So thank you!
I’m really pleased with this week’s progress as I was out of town for several days and was surrounded by a lot of temptation. I treated myself a couple of times but also upped my exercise a bit and didn’t go crazy. So happy to know I can do this!10
