I was thinking cool sunglasses for Max, but it's the kind of thing you have to try on. Where do you get such things for 10 year olds? We don't have department stores in Brighton.

I'm delighted with my pillow order. DH wanted a suggestion for a small personal present, so I said, L'Occitane Lavender Hand Cream. It really, really does smell like real lavender, the only one that does.

Heather - I know my grandparents had pillows for years and years. They don't last well now.

Our Grandson will be 10 in September, his only interests are video games and Nerf guns. I have always refused to buy Video Games, but have found that some of the things I have bought him are still in original packaging so don't find that to be a good use of money. One thing I have done and it might be something fun for all of you depending on restrictions was to buy him a gift card and then I take him shopping and out for a lunch or dinner. He has enjoyed those days. I've bought bookstore and Lego Store gift cards.
Of course, he chooses the eat out location.

Thank you for the remarks on my granddaughter she would be so pleased. - The vanity of a 5 year old! :)

Well I am at work on a Sunday and not very happy about it, but since the deadline is tomorrow I best get at it. I'll check in later.

Barbara: We live in Columbia County. As far as I know we’re still required to wear masks in public. We can eat in a restaurant in small groups with social distancing and must wear masks. DH & I were first vaccinated March 1 & 2 and both vaccinated for the second time on March 30. We received the Pfizer vaccine. We bag our own groceries at the stores. Several restaurants have closed their doors and removed their seating and kitchen facilities. Restaurants with window service are open for drive-through but not sit-down as far as I know. For their sakes, I hope we are able to reach “herd immunity” before they all go bankrupt. :flowerforyou:

Heather: What do you buy a 10 year-old? I would buy a tent that can be put up in the yard or in campgrounds. That is what we gave our six year-old grandson. It was a hit. He had it up in the yard for months for sleepovers & as his “fort.” We generally talk things over with our daughter to be sure our ideas are good. :star:

Kylia: We had cleaners for several years. The last refused to wear a mask in our home. We were unwilling to have anyone that was not wearing a mask inside our home. I’m not the best cleaner, but I’m definitely not going to bring home a contagious disease. :noway:

(((Allie))) I hope all goes well for your upcoming surgery. Sending prayers your way.

Tracey: I think your birthday idea for DGS is brilliant. A meal out and taking him shopping for something he wants seems like a great idea. My son, now a father himself, wanted legos at that age. :star:

We have a sunny morning. I hope to find something fun to do.

Katla - Great suggestion. :D I've found a suitable tent on Amazon and I've sent DDIL the link to see what she thinks. Otherwise, all the suggestions of money and outing are good. It's something to think about. We do have some bookstores. Shops are scheduled to open back up tomorrow with only outdoor dining, pubs and cafés.

Spent a long time making 37 meatballs this afternoon and a huge pot of tomato sauce. Will have portion tonight and freeze lots. Hooray. Love having ready meals in the freezer. Love meatballs. I'm going to have mine with peas and shiritaki noodles. Trying to drop a few pounds.

Finished my third and last Deutschland series today. :'( Hate it when a box set binge ends. I feel bereft. It's accompanied my afternoon rowing and cycling for quite a while now. I'm sure my German has improved. :D

DH is doing another Max walk and talk tomorrow morning. <3 Then DDIL has asked us to accompany Bea to the park on Tuesday over lunchtime so she can have some 1 to 1 time with Max. Edie is at football training 9 -2 each day. Very happy to do so.

Your idea of a tent sounds great! My 11 yr old grandson would love something like that except for the fact that I think his family has one. Also, Tracey's idea of taking him out for a meal that is just for him is really good. I recently took my two grands to Wendy's for a burger when they got off the bus and we had a really good conversation.

What is your upcoming surgery about? You may have told us but I have missed it. Anyway, hope it will be successful. You have been through a lot this year!

    Sending hugs Allie <3

DH said my meatballs were a 'triumph'. :D Got enough for 3 more main meals plus tomato sauce. Also going to keep two small sauce portions back for homemade pizza.
My pillows etc are with the courier Hermes. I've downloaded the app so I can track it. Also put a safe place and a safe neighbour. We are going to be out and about the next two days, so let's hope it works. I might tell them to keep it until Wednesday.

Tracey ... I think your GD is fabulous! I don't see her comments as vanity so much as self-confidence ... something I hope she holds on to as she ages. So many women listen to the world instead of their inner-selves ...such a pity.

Machka ... I can and do order groceries online! I still won't go into some grocery stores that I know are busy ... too many people and those dang covid number are on an uptick again in my area. Occasionally, though, there are things I want to see for myself before buying. Grief is just a weird animal and the slightest thing can trigger the tears ...

Allie ... remind me again what the latest surgery is for? You know, of course, that I will be praying.

I am supposed to be cleaning, but evidently I'm not. Started the morning with a bottle of avocado oil crashing to the ceramic tile. At least the bottle was dark colored and I could see the shards of glass. Wanted to make certain I got it all as the puppy was way too interested in the mess. I work as a housekeeper for our church but would never do private housekeeping even though the money is much better. Probably shouldn't publicly say that I don't like cleaning! B):D

Allie: Like Carol, I wonder what the upcoming surgery is about. I hope it is very successful for you and improves your health and quality of life. :star:

I am planning to go to the stable this afternoon. My friend has made many changes. Arrow is in a covered stall away from the main stable and arena building. It is closer to her home. I think she is making excellent decisions for her own health and safety.

Beautiful sunny day here today so I got the backyard pasture sprayed with Pasture Pro weed and feed. Really tired now, all that walking on uneven ground in boots but it is done and will save money on hay this summer.

Allie - Good luck with the ablation. Hopefully makes you feel much better.

Katla - Yay for trips to the stable.

Everyone take care Sue in WA

Allie - thinking about you during the ablation. Still trying to avoid mine with medication, but may yet end up talking to a cardiologist about it. Keep us posted when you can...

Michelle-sorry to hear of your dog’s health issues. Our pets are parts of our family. It does seem like there have been several pet health issues here in the last couple of months.

Heather-sorry for your tv woes. That is not the same problem in the US for most of us thanks to cable and streaming-some of your network programs may be cancelled but there are a lot of other viewing options. I have taken to sending my grandchildren (older ones, 7 & 8) amazon gift cards. They need their parent’s assistance to spend them. They both gave a great deal of thought about what to buy and it took them a month or so to make their decision. They considered whether they want one more expensive thing or several less expensive. Their parents think it is teaching them about money. It was also much easier during Covid. I send the cards to the mother’s email on the day of their birthday. May do the same thing for Christmas.

    Tracey-your granddaughter is so pretty!

Kylia-enjoy hearing what you doing to Kentucky property. It sounds like it is coming along nicely. Such a nice thing to have for your family.

Allie-best of luck with the heart ablation. I really don’t understand them, but they seem to be a fairly regular procedure now. I would hate the laying flat for 6 hours afterwards.

Walking is probably my favorite exercise. I do enjoy working with weights and some of the machines at the gym. I was able to do some of my stretches this am with no pain and went for about a 20 minute walk outside. It was wonderful!

I decided to brave going into Kohis this am right after they opened. I made a list of what I wanted to purchase/check out. Bought a couple of them, briefly checked out the main clearance area. Was in there maybe one hour. A bit of normalcy. Since numbers are still high in our county, I don't want to do a lot of that, but it was the first time I had gone into anything except grocery store of Lowes in over a year.

Have lunch ready for work tomorrow. Going into the office. Will leave around 3:15 to stop in gym. Won't do anything heavy duty-possible just the bike an a bit of treadmill, but it will start getting me back in routine. I certainly don't want to set everything off again.

    Take care all,

    Ginny in Ohio
