Katla - Congratulations! A new grandchild is exciting!

Heather - It will be nice to have the floors and painting done.
My cousin and her husband are in counselling separately and together. They have been since her hospitalization in January.

Lisa - I would love a hot tub please share how it all goes. We watch Lt. Joe Kenda too. My husband actually saw one of the episodes from, he thought, the first season, he told me he looks better as he gets older. I told him most men do.

Kylia - will your husband not do anything about his sister. If she’s not contributing appropriately maybe her wage or profit needs to be lowered. I think if I were in your shoes I would be looking for other work, you sure aren’t treated properly here

Barbara- my cousin lives about 2 hours away so we don’t see each other regularly. I hope Tai’ Chi opened again for you.
I’m sure all the work is not helping anything.

Carol - I agree maybe we have caused Michele more worry. Sorry Michele.

Vicki - what terrible customer service.

Julie - I hope things change soon and you feel better.

Allie - I bet you’ll be in heaven when you get Alford back.

Rebecca - it sounds like your sister has a big task! I just wanted to say though that my depression is not turning in, a lot of people don’t even notice. I notice it in myself when I am angry for days and weeks on end, I then call my doctor and get a prescription filled for a few months.

I had the best day today. We were sitting here and I heard a car door shut. I looked out and no one was in our driveway. Before I stood up there was a knock on the door. When I opened it our Granddaughter was standing there asking me if I would like to run errands with her and Mommy. Of course I accepted the invitation. We went and did a little shopping and got some groceries. Then we very unexpectedly took an impromptu trip to see our other daughter. We sat outside and went for a walk. It was the best day I’ve had in a long time.

Awe, ((((hugs))))), we are definitely our worse critics, and I realize from talking to many, that depression is as unique a situation as each person is. I know when I talked to my middle son about it, he said, " the things that used to make me happy, just didn't ". He is on medication and says he feels a lot better. Plus I am sure having Athena in his life has improved his mood. I know when I looked at life thru the eyes of a child, I felt better.
    Your day sounded grand!💕

Barbara, she's my eldest sister that I took a train to visit in Montana. She's the sister that's burned my forehead with a curling iron (I of course moved she said, and to this day I can't even handle a hair stylist using one)😂😂! She also put me on the butt end of her horse and he bucked and I hit the field HARD, and knocked the wind outta me! So much drama we had with each other. 😋😁🙃.

Once when I was about 7 (she was 14), we were eating dinner and arguing. Parents were out to dinner, and my middle sister Cindy was the referee. Being both Gemini's, Pam and I were like oil and water! So I distinctly remember we had milk with our dinner, and I was so mad I said, "I just want to throw this milk in your face"! She sneered and said, "just try it". Ok I don't remember even thinking about it, and one second later milk was dripping down her nose....😂😂😂 I let out a Whoooop like on "HeeHaw", and the chase was afoot!!!! We ran around the house and at one point she cornered me in our parents bedroom behind the side of the bed. It was then that my leg went down into the heating vent, (because we would take off the covers and dry our long hair over them). Anywhooo, I am wailing because I can't get my leg out of the vent, and she is laughing, well we are all laughing, until the heat turned on! I thought I was going to burn up, (because she had mentioned that), so Lordy what a night! Goid times..

Did Crunch Yoga Body Sculpt DVD then went for a walk around the block. Didn’t do the recumbent bike since I’ll save that for days when it’s raining out and I can’t go for a walk. Work tomorrow so no formal exercise but when I get home I do plan to walk at least around the block.

Tracey – sounds like you had a heavenly day

kylia – I admit that I’m probably one of the people you don’t like. I told them at Food Lion that I only wanted to work 4-4and a half-5 hours. I did tell them that I’m open to just about anything. At this point in my life, I feel that I have a good work ethic. I would be the one outside offering carts to people, talking to them, making sure there were carts in the store, going out into the parking lot to get them. Then after I’d get off work, the next person usually just stood there. No getting the carts, no making sure they were in the store, nothing. But I really don’t want to work more than 5 hours. I did tell them that 2 – 3 days/week worked for me. I’m not pickey about the days. I’ll adjust my exercise. But I don’t want to work more than 3 or possibly 4 days/week (prefer 3). It’s so sad to see so many places looking for work. At the soup kitchen they were talking about some restaurants that are closing one day/week because they can’t find help.

Lisa – we leave our spa open all year. Of course, it isn’t vinyl. Do you have to close yours? We only close ours for the winter. Is your cover a solar cover?

Barbara – we were planning to put the pool at the bottom of the stairs from the house in the back. But we weren’t able to since we are on a septic and that is the repair area. So we wound up having to put it behind the detached garage. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise because the pool is in the sunshine from about 9am to 7pm. If it was where we were going to put it, it would be in the shade much sooner.

Bananas – I thought it was the J&J vaccine that had the issues with the blood clots. BREATHE

Working on a jigsaw puzzle for down at the condo. I find that if I work for an hour, that’s about it, then I need to take a break, and go back to it in a bit. I’ll probably go back to it for an hour or so in a few

Took two walks around the block

Rebecca – I can just see you running around the house!

Worked on the puzzle for a few hours and will probably work tonight on it some more. It’s coming along.

So two facts-1) I LOVE SPEED (not drugs) 2) I always am aware of city speed limits. Once I am on the highway though all bets are off.

So now that I have stated that....
Took the new GT500 to Costco to fill with fuel (7miles). Left there to pick up prescriptions and took short cut road......35mph.......Wouldn't you know it that I wasn't following fact #2......Flashing blue lights pulled me over. DA*N, I didn't drive 8 miles and got pulled over! He asked if I knew why he pulled me over, I said I am pretty sure I was going too fast. He said 51 and asked me what the speed limit was. I answered 35. Said I was sorry. He asked for driver's license and insurance card. I gave him license and explained that we just got the car yesterday and don't have any other paperwork yet. His reply was , oh, you don't know what power you have yet then......After he ran my license, he gave me a warning, asked me to please pay more attention to my speed, and be careful as I was driving a powerful machine. Nice! But put a small damper on my first drive! After we picked up prescriptions, we headed to the country roads. MAN! SHE IS A BEAST!!!! She FLYS!!!!!! Nice to stretch her legs, but am going to have to be careful in town. She handles well and is responsive.

Heading out for ice cream so Steve can show off the new car to all his friends who didn't know he was actually getting it. Since the Dairy shed is in Bellbrook (the same officer that pulled me over), I promise to behave!

Michele- If I was hiring for part time work, then you would be perfect! Our pick up and delivery driver has always been a part time position. More as needed. Always try to have about 4 hours of work on their scheduled days. But when looking for mechanics and/or counter help which are full time positions then it is a problem. If you are over 50 and only looking for supplemental income, I get it. But the ones that drive me crazy are the 20-30 y/o that want paid $20/hr at start and only work their chosen hours. Now, my niece just got a job that encourages exercise, family, relaxation, work from home. That would be WONDERFUL! BUT.....unfortunately a service business can't operate that way. We have to be open to the public when we say we will be and we have to complete repairs in a timely manner (to the best of our abilities) I would love to get two or three more employees in that can help year round to allow those of us that have always worked 6 days a week a few weekends off. Heck, I wouldn't care if it was just two days off in a row. Ginny said it right, hiring right now is extremely difficult. As long as folks can get by on what they are getting in government assistance, it will remain that way.

Both J&Js and AstraZeneca have clotting issues.

Because of my genetic predisposition toward clotting, I was concerned. Our government just had the AstraZeneca vaccine. However, because of the clotting issues with AstraZeneca, they got Pfizer for people under 50 very recently. I am over 50, but now that Pfizer is available, I'll ask for it.

Our vaccines may start late in May.

Barbie-I am not happy about the 5 lbs. for you-but the Cheetos and Red Wine made me smile. Sounds like that could do it. I don’t drink, but I have been known to eat Cheetos to excess.

Julie-Going last week in June, first week in July. Resort we will stay at for two nights is north of Scottsdale. Will spend most of my time there just being with family. We will make a few shopping trips. I get grandkids clothes for school. Go to park. Maybe a hike in mountains. We usually just play it by ear. Just hang out be grandma! Here is the resort link:

In terms of your aggressive colleague-the only thing you can control is your reaction, not their behavior.

Debbie-awful news about Covid in your church. Don’t blame you for returning home. Good of your pastor to be honest with people.

    Rebecca-great story about your sisters!

Kylia-glad you only got a warning! Sometimes the officers are not so friendly.

Heather-glad you had good visit. No figuring out what kids will eat when.

Got grant reviews finished before on-line church. The ironing that mystifies some of you is done. Started sorting through clothes with summer work stuff. Have many more than I need or wear. This will take several sessions. I set aside for Goodwill things that I just don’t like the fit on me anymore. Plan on doing same with every closet and every drawer.

Went for walk at local reservoir with friend for about an hour. Was so nice to be outside with the sun shining. Lunch packed for work tomorrow. Off to pack up workout clothes and surface to take into work with me-then off to watch some tv.

    Take care all,

So much moving furniture and vacuuming all weekend!!

We had locks installed on our windows this morning to comply with insurance and to make the place more secure, but in order to do that, we had to move furniture away from the windows ... and of course, if I'm going to move furniture, I'm going to vacuum underneath.

Why would we have furniture against the windows? Our house is almost all windows. We've got huge windows that are almost floor to ceiling and almost full wall width in just about every room. In order to fit our furniture in, some of it has had to go against the windows. So there was a half-height bookshelf that covered about half the window in the office, a couple low dressers in the dressing room, and so on.

Not only do we have locks on all the windows now, we've also got fresher air ... less dust!

In other news, I am going from full-time (5 days/week) to a 9 day fortnight. 5 days one week, 4 days with Friday off the next. I've been waiting for various ducks to line up so I could do that and they finally have.

What working a 9 day fortnight might give me is:
    - less time commuting - one less day on the bus each fortnight.
    - more time with with my husband. His severe traumatic brain injury has plateaued and specialists have predicted that he will likely start deteriorating in the next few years.
    - more time to exercise
    - more time if I need to do work with regard to my husband's legal situation
    - more time to accomplish things on my list
    - more time to rest.

Yes, I can see that extra day filling up quite quickly, but rest and exercise are two priorities. And exercise includes my husband ... we can cycle or walk or whatever together. Exercise is something we've always done together - it's how we met! :)
