My third round . Starting week 3 with keto with if. I’m still learning how to eat with this wol but learning to cook again instead of relying on processed meals and convenience.

04/26 - 198.2 I sort of expected this. Mondays are usually pretty bad, and I had a pretty bad weekend food wise (though activity wise it was a bit better).
04/27 - 194.0 This is a weirdly big drop. I assume because I've been so off track over the weekend that there was also a fair bit of water retention going on. Feeling like I'm a bit more on track now - went for a long walk yesterday and a run this morning.
04/28 - 192.6 So I went for a run yesterday and kept below calories, but this is still a bigger one day drop than I would expect. I'm treating this a bit like the drop you get early on in weight loss which I know is probably mainly water weight. I've really struggled to stay on track in April, though, so seeing some positive numbers on the scale is a really good motivator.
04/29 - 191.8 Under calories and moderately active yesterday - I was back in the office for a day. This meant being reasonably active. I forgot how many steps I get in just walking to and from train stations, walking out for lunch and walking around the office. But being in the office is a challenge food wise - the vending machine is right there! And walking back to the train when it's a few hours after lunch, and I'm at least an hour away from dinner, it's SOO tempting to just stop at a shop and pick up lots of chocolate. I didn't bring any healthy lunch and hadn't had breakfast. Potential disaster. But I had a lunch involving a sandwich, some crisps and some chocolate all at around 500 cals, and then just ignored the vending machine as best I could. I did have a chocolate bar on the way home - but stayed under calories for the day.

04/29 - 147.7 - Not quite sure what this is about? We had a fairly heavy dinner, maybe? It was early, but doesn't mean it couldn't have impact. Got my 90oz water. Got a walk in with the pup though she cut it short because she decided to try something new: escape from her harness and run away. I caught her, thankfully, but had to stop our walk to carry her home (didn't trust her not to do it again). Then the rain came so no more walks. Need to figure out how I can get the harness so it doesn't restrict breathing or movements but is tight enough she can't slip out. Apparently I have a houdini dog....

Previous Day's Comments04/22 - Wow, I expected a bump up. I was STARVING at dinner and ate a little extra to satisfy my belly. I figured it'd bump me up, even if only slightly. Very pleasant surprise indeed. Fasted 16hrs, short on water, only got 65oz. Did get my workout in, though, which was wonderful. Hopefully this round will show some improvement, I'd love to be below 145 again. It IS a bit elusive....
04/23 - Lack of water causing water weight/bloat. Expected, plans were unknown to me so I couldn't plan ahead and make sure I had water with me. Only drank about 35oz plain water yesterday. Pushing water this morning to try to overcome. Yesterday I had another day I was extremely hungry and had to eat extra to feel satiated. Just trying to listen to my body and know it'll pass and things will settle back to normal soon enough. Hormones are goofy and I just need to be aware is all (: Not mad at it.

04/25 - Busy busy, go go go. Just wanted to check in so nobody worried. All good here. I'll be back to normal weigh in tomorrow!
04/26 - No hugs, I'm quite happy this wasn't higher after the weekend I had. Lots of manual labor, sleep was all kinds of wonky, could't keep up hydration as well as I'd like, and food was prepackaged on the go so we didn't have to keep going back into town. Hopefully today is calm enough I can focus on water. I'm postponing my workout (again.... I didn't get it on Friday as we left waaaay earlier than I anticipated) so I can rehydrate and rest my body after the manual labor this weekend.
04/27 - Inching back down. Got 65oz water and made homemade Chicken Tikka Masala and Naan bread for dinner. I'm feeling the bit of heaviness I usually do after Indian-style food, but my measurements show I've lost 1/2in off my belly pooch area, which is good. Unfortunately I have a busy busy work day suddenly pop up so my workout has been postponed. Hopefully I can still manage something this afternoon. Supposed to be rainy the next 3 days so maybe I'll get lucky to sneak in a walk or something if I can't get my 9Round in. Focus today will be getting my 90oz water while on meetings! Need to stop being too lazy or distracted to refill water bottle
04/28 - Managed to get my 90 oz in and got a short walk with the pup. Neighborhood isn't big so I'm lucky to get between 0.75-0.9mi in with her. Nothing to brag about but some movement is still movement and I'll take it.

Ate reasonably, but still not much of an exercise program going. Two days ago, I went back the gym where my membership has been frozen for a year, to see if any of my group exercise classes are up and running. Nope. I love group spinning classes like RPM and Sprint. They have one class offered mid day and you need to wear a mask. (I can barely breath without a mask during these classes, Ha)
Dropped by another gym to see what’s going on. Nuthin.
I do better in groups (like jgmtd) but it’s clear I need to exhibit some self-discipline and figure something out. Maybe some weight training is what I need more anyway.

4/22 – 198 – 10,253 steps yesterday.
4/23 – 198.8 – 11,033 steps yesterday. Today is my birthday and I’ll be eating whatever I want. I was tempted to skip this round completely but I’m here, so I consider that a win. I’m pretty much done with my classes for the semester next week and will have three weeks until my next class starts. My plan is to get back on track during these three weeks!
4/24 –199.4 – 10,065 steps and lots of paddling yesterday. Also a lot of eating! I know this is a long-term process, but I’m excited about my little three-week reset. I hope to make good progress April 25-May 17 that will create some momentum to carry me through the tough months ahead. Really sore from paddling yesterday so not sure how much I’ll do today. Still giving myself a little birthday break and back on track tomorrow.
4/25 – 199.8 – 11,505 steps yesterday
4/26 – 10,200 steps yesterday. Super busy day and did not weigh in.
4/27 – 10,093 steps yesterday. Tough morning after a rough night and did not weigh in. Eating since birthday has not been good!

I used to walk 6-8+ miles almost every day, and got out of the habit 3 years ago when PMR practically immobilized me with pain. Now’s the time!

04/22 I went to my nephrologist's office. They want me to lose 10% of my last year's stating weight of 228.6. By their scale I'm down 8.4 since March of '20 so their goal is for me to get down 22.8 lbs total which would bring me to 206. By their measure I'm down 8.4 since March of '20. Although I lost more weight than that during last week's challenge according to my scale as I'd been up a bit over the pandemic. Always interesting to see what the doc's scale reads. I'm beginning to understand what the other lab result mean. (A1c, GFR and Vitamin D) So adding to a mini goal-Get to 205 by 7/15/21. Overweight (202) to follow.

04/24 217/-.8/ I'm losing about a lb every 2 days. Getting used to planning my meals the night before committing it to paper or text, eating measured nutritious food, letting hunger pass between my 3 meals, and texting my buddy my meal plan. It is faster to lose weight when one is obese. It'll slow eventually, but for now it's nice to see more than 2 lbs lost so soon. On target, maybe even surpassing it!

Speaking about successes though my scale has not changed much in the past couple of months but I have noticed more definition in some of limbs particularly my legs and waist lately. This morning I watched a youtube video on belly dancing less cardio but more strength training.

04/22 …..207.2 ….. After travel yesterday. Meal out was small and healthy but I could have done without the dense dessert. I should have resisted harder. I hope more will not creep up on the scale in the days to come since it sometimes shows up later. More travel today for Covid shot #2. Only about 3-4 hours out total so I will keep my meals at home which will really help. Time to get this done!

04/24 …..206.6 ….. I’m feeling much better today. I was very disoriented yesterday and bloated with the extra water intake after the vaccination. A full day planned today including a tree service cutting down some trees. I will be part of the clean-up crew so I will get in lots of movement today.
04/25 …..206.0 ….. Just over 27,000 steps, over 11 miles and nearly 4000 calories burned so I worked hard in the yard for this downward trend. Downside? Got eat up with gnat bites. No sleep last night. Nothing I tried stopped the itching. I am high allergic to their bites so I am miserable right now with another full day of outside work ahead of me. My right eye is swollen shut. Joy!
04/26 …..204.0 ….. Wow! I was pleasantly shocked at the scale. This extensive yardwork after the trees were removed is really paying off. It’s also keeping things moving right along in the TMI (bathroom) dept. Finished with the clean up now so I won’t be burning 4000 calories a day anymore, but there’s always something I can do out there. I just often need help and I need to keep the crew on the reno projects. I’ll still get my rear end out there and burn something extra everyday. Rain and thunderstorms next 3 days though. Maybe I’ll just do the happy dance inside about the scale progress!
04/27 …..205.4 ….. I think the sudden drops just adjusted themselves so I am okay with this. Weight is still down 1.6 lbs from challenge start. Fat percentage is down (including overnight). My trend weight is continuing down, even with today’s scale read. I had a glucose drop yesterday that I caught quickly before it raged out of control. I corrected it easily and without too many calories or carbs. I slept very good last night with 6 hours which is about 2 hours more than normal. So I know all is well. There was less movement due to rainy weather and some outdoor work being done by the excavating company. However, overall, I am so very very pleased with the progress. My birthday is coming in May. My gift (I hope) to myself is continued progress. Thai food is scheduled for dinner tonight. I will split it in half and eat the rest tomorrow. Pushing water for the impending sodium.
04/28 …..205.6 ….. I didn’t get my Thai food afterall. Apparently the restaurant was closed for a deep cleaning. Divine intervention? I think so! Was starving with no meal planned but I managed to eat proper foods, (just a bit much on the quantity). My son and I took a nice little walk to go pick up my car that was back in the shop. We checked out our new neighborhood. I didn’t realize the horrid incline to get back out. My legs and feet were fine. Even my knees were okay. But my breathing was tough. I had to stop a few times. Very different than my old neighborhood but it offers me a challenge and a goal. My weight trend continues to improve. I am down 1.9% in my body fat in just 2 weeks. My weight is continuing to trend down. Now it says I will reach my goal by 2023 instead of 2054 and 2036 and all those other ridiculous numbers. My trend weight is at its lowest in 13 weeks!
04/29 …..207.2 ….. What?????? Oatmeal for breakfast yesterday, all non-starch veggies for dinner with lite sour cream on some sweet potato. The only thing I can suspect is the sunflower seed kernals (carefully measured out) that were salted for my night snack. Tomorrow will tell if this is temporary water retention from the salt or weight from the fats in the sunflower kernals.

If I have to go back into the office at any stage not sure I'd get my work trousers on - working from home the last year and lockdowns have not been kind to my waistline!

04/27 - 194.0 This is a weirdly big drop. I assume because I've been so off track over the weekend that there was also a fair bit of water retention going on. Feeling like I'm a bit more on track now - went for a long walk yesterday and a run this morning.
04/28 - 192.6 So I went for a run yesterday and kept below calories, but this is still a bigger one day drop than I would expect. I'm treating this a bit like the drop you get early on in weight loss which I know is probably mainly water weight. I've really struggled to stay on track in April, though, so seeing some positive numbers on the scale is a really good motivator.
04/29 - 191.8 Under calories and moderately active yesterday - I was back in the office for a day. This meant being reasonably active. I forgot how many steps I get in just walking to and from train stations, walking out for lunch and walking around the office. But being in the office is a challenge food wise - the vending machine is right there! And walking back to the train when it's a few hours after lunch, and I'm at least an hour away from dinner, it's SOO tempting to just stop at a shop and pick up lots of chocolate. I didn't bring any healthy lunch and hadn't had breakfast. Potential disaster. But I had a lunch involving a sandwich, some crisps and some chocolate all at around 500 cals, and then just ignored the vending machine as best I could. I did have a chocolate bar on the way home - but stayed under calories for the day.
04/30 - 192.6 The big drops were too good to last. I was under calories yesterday but only by 200 or so, and not terribly active. Still 5.6lbs lower than I was on Monday, so pretty happy.
