Struggles: the usual. Day to day ups and downs, grief strikes at odd moments. Getting outside, cycling and walking helps but the weather has been horrible.
I'm away for a few days this week - and the Covid restrictions have been relaxed a bit so we might even be able to go into a cafe/bar/restaurant this week!

I have been maintaining in a fairly narrow range since the beginning of the year. I still bounce around some, but it seems maintaining at this weight is a lot easier than at the weight I maintained for a few years before that. So I'm really considering moving my goal to closer to where I am now. I don't think it's cheating. My BMI is still in the healthy range even if it's on the high end of healthy (six more pounds would put me back as overweight). When I calculate my "Smart BMI," which takes age and gender into account, it's smack in the middle of the healthy range. The estimate of my body fat percentage is also in the upper end of healthy for someone my age, but still healthy. So this is also a struggle I've been facing since last October. In fact, I've been wondering what my target should be ALL ALONG. I lowered my target as I was hitting the first one I set. I was pleased with how I felt and looked at the goal I eventually settled on, but it was a lot more work to maintain it. Well... see you next week and I'll still be pondering this and so many other crazy things in this Universe.
I really sympathise with this. Last time I lost weight I was aiming for 75kg, then that felt too high so I aimed for 72kg and then for 70kg to see if I could. However, that's too low for me for maintenance. This time around I am currently aiming to maintain at around 75kg, though long term I'd prefer that to be between 74kg and 75g. 74 kg is bmi 23 for me, and at my age 57 that feels about right. Where do you calculate your smart bmi?

Success: I met my goals last week: calories, weight, fluids, exercises, as well as some mini-walks.
Struggle: Sometimes I feel I am somewhat obsessive about my weight. It bothers me when I go even an 1/2 above my goal but then I remember that I was mostly overweight since 5th grade. It has been 10 years at maintenance and it has been wonderful. So what if I fret a little? I think I'm worth it!5 -

Successes/struggles of the week: My weight has still been high this past week, so I decided to bump up my daily steps goal a bit to help with getting my weight back down again. On the workout side, I've been progressing lately with my barbell workouts, which is helping me to stay motivated to continue with my workouts. With the weather being nice, I'd like to get in some more outdoor walks, but unfortunately all of the cicadas emerging make it a bit unpleasant to be outdoors for too long.2 -

I’m experimenting with seeing how my satiety levels are in relation to the types of foods I eat. Trying to eat more whole foods, which I’ve been getting pretty good at, and less sugar, and it’s going quite well.

Tapering for the big race this week means a lot less activity and we essentially maintained weight. Just what I would want to do! 50 mile race this week in Bryce. Between vacation food though I do expect to be up a bit for a few weeks after. Planned fluctuations.

Success/Struggle: Just returned from a week's vacation where I didn't log my food but I did weigh every day (I packed my scale) and kept up my exercise routine. Two weeks ago I had some unexplained weight gain - it appeared to be water retention caused by stress. Vacation was the cure and despite not eating at my best, I dropped 4 pounds last week. I need to remember this the next time I feel like I am gaining weight - is it too many calories or stress?2 -

A lot going on: medical uncertainty, diet changes, much more sodium, and now plantar fasciitis (mild) plus house guests & I worked like a whirling dervish to make our house look really great & create a nice outdoor garden seating area. Plus created a lot of art every day in May, which was great.
All of the above took my focus off spending the time on stats like those above. I let a lot of the routines I’ve developed over the past years slide- some for good reasons- and some because my focus was elsewhere.
Now, with my walking reduced, house guests bring much tempting food in to my pretty bare kitchen, and a big medical test tomorrow, I’m taking it one moment at a time.
Even at this weight, I’m doing well. I expect all will be fine once medical issue is resolved.

Struggles: Although I am maintaining I have reset mfp to lose 0.25 kgs (ca. 0.5 lb) per week as I seemed to be starting to drift up again. That seems to be working! Oddly, although I no longer have a monthly cycle this week has felt a bit as though I did. Maybe once I am in maintenance longer time I will notice some kind of monthly fluctuation.
Successes: It's a year this week since I reactivated my mfp account and started working on returning my weight to a normal bmi or below. In that time I have lost 13kg and reach my goal weight. I have also established a regular exercise routine. My core, arms adn shoulders are miles stronger than they were. My legs were always strong as I alked a lot and did regular ballet, but they are more toned and my whole body is also more flexible. With maintenance combined with regular exercise (including weights) I feel feel as though I am getting to know my body a lot better.

Successes/struggles of the week: My weight is still at the top of my maintenance range, though trending downwards a bit. This week, I decided to order a bunch of food for takeout as I was getting my second covid shot and wasn't sure if I would have side effects and not be able to cook much. Luckily, I didn't have anything other than just a bit of a sore arm, but I still enjoyed the takeout food anyway. Back to cooking some more things next week though.3 -

Success/Struggles: Coming to the realization that maintaining at or near 160 is probably just where I need to be and that pushing myself to come down 5 or 10 pounds more is just making my life harder. My BMI in between 23 and 24. I'm fit and healthy - rowing or running nearly every day. So what if I still have some jiggly bits? And who knows that will happen to those jiggly bits after another year in maintenance. So here's to self-acceptance and being happy with where I am right now.5 -

I think I need to adopt this attitude. A 23.5 BMI for me is about eight pounds over the goal I had attained but left behind. I may adjust my goal in a few months if I get back to September and have maintained (not gained) from where I'm at now. It seems so much easier to maintain at this level, and even a BMI of 24.0 is still within the healthy range. Maybe weighing less than I did in grad school three decades ago isn't realistic (BMI around 22.7). I'm not done trying yet, though.
The good thing is I'm not mentally beating myself up about it. At least not that much3 -
