July focus:

• maintain weight < 150 (I have been maintaining since November 2019)
• Work on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
• Gradually working my way down to being consistently under 140lbs

• 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
• 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.

• Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
• A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
• Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
• The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
• Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
• The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
• When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
• Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

7/8 - 63.1kg. No problem. No gym this am ad I had to go for a covid test which is negative and I've done the isolation so I'll be back in tomorrow.

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ Round 155 (round 87 for me ) I continue to prove time after time that I need this to help me keep on track! Thank you @QuiltingJaine for setting up the new challenge.

Challenge for this round is to continue yet again to work back towards maintanence – any loss will be a win! We should have been going away for a week in our caravan on Friday, but it has had to be cancelled as we are both in self isolation – (luckily, I've been able to rebook the site albeit not til next year 'cuz they are fully booked!, but at least we are not losing our money). We shall get away for the weekend after we get our freedom !!! A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

Keep calm – we're all in this together! Wash hands, be kind, continue to follow all latest Government guidelines in roadmap to normality for C-19 virus. Be positive for the future – I've had both of my vaccines.

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

7/1 131.2 – shocked at this, checked scale several times, think some of the loss last couple of days is due to upset stomach and too much TMI! Another of my covid symptoms? See how it goes next few days Feeling much brighter today, might try a short jog in place later. Good food choices just 36 calories over yesterday, still no structured exercise.
7/2 132 – feeling even better today, still not 100%, but getting there! Good food choices again yesterday; within calories.

7/3 132 – feel much much better today, yes, can say back to normal, sensible food choices ysterday, within calories and still managed a chilled cider in the sunshine whilst enjoying my garden. Rain forecast today so garden off the cards!
7/4 132.4 – difficult to stay within calories on pizza night! 252 over. Itching to get out!
7/5 133.2 – need to get back to less 1340 calories today (was 500 over yesterday & scales reflect!), still no structured walking!
7/6 131.6 – sensible choices yesterday despite the challenges involved in running out of fresh produce only had 3 onions left, made delicious evening meal of salmon (from freezer), jacket potato, boiled onions and peas (frozen) all served with parsley sauce. We had a food delivery last night so yeah ! We have fresh fruit, veg & salad so today will be a lot easier to make good choices.
7/7 131.6 – nice to retain this number, good day yesterday again, enjoyed loads of veg with tea and good selection of fruit during the day. Looking forward to tomorrow !!!
7/8 131.6 - Freedom from self isolation!!! Also returned a negative LFT Hitching our caravan up & heading for the Yorkshire Dales!
7/9. 132.4 - celebrated our freedom a little too much yesterday! Back on it today. 6.42 miles walked yesterday after our 3.5 hour forget up to Filey.

7/01 - I am thoroughly confused. I haven't fasted in a week and a half. I haven't tracked food in 2 weeks. Haven't been drinking to my water goals for several days. I haven't worked out in a week. And yet, here I am dropping 1.2lbs and looking super slim out of nowhere. I even ATE CAKE last night (Daughter wanted to bake a cake so we did). Is it backwards day and I just don't know about it?! Despite my iffy tummy earlier in the week, I still ate a normal amount....Anyone have insight on what could be going on?
7/02 - This is weird. I had a latte with real milk yesterday. Then had to eat immediately after to help settle my stomach. I've now gotten myself flavored syrups to make flavored lattes and oat milk for myself so they won't upset my tummy. Really surprised I'm not still bloated from that. Shocked in general at the weight. Flashed 145 for a minute but then it went back up to 146. Tried again and at 146 immediately. Had a bad morning, slept on my neck wrong. It was so bad it made me dizzy until I threw up. I feel better now, though my neck is still achy, it's much more tolerable. Eye appointment in a short bit. Hopefully I can keep up with the loss and maintain it.

7/04 - Happy 4th to my US friends! Weight to be expected. We had limited concert tickets to sold out shows and one was postponed due to rain until Friday night. The other was originally scheduled for last night. It was a great time at both (both moved right up to top 2 concerts I've ever seen, they were amazing and great showmen). Late nights, not as much sleep, and not enough water (adds up real when buying for 5 people and can't bring any outside drinks in...ugh. Its WATER...but I get it, end rant). Hopefully rain lets up today like it did last night so we can light the few fireworks we bought. They've been looking forward to it for awhile. Luckily Fam's land is out in the middle of nowhere so we have lots of space and won't be disturbing a ton of people.
7/05 - Yesterday was filled with lots of prep for physically returning to work for at least the next two weeks. Training all day today so stuck sitting behind a computer but I'm sure I'll make up for that Wed-Fri with my tour. I'm not 100% sure how I'll squeeze in posting as I figure out my morning routine and timing. I'm still around, even if I can't post daily. Need to focus on water, I haven't been good about that AT ALL. Food, either. This week I'll have no choice since I have to pack my lunch and dinner will already be made by the time I get home.
7/06 - Not sure how accurate this is since I'm awake 3 hours earlier than normal (330). Waiting for coffee to brew as I type which I think will be my method of posting.

Good morning everyone, I know this is mid round, but mind if I join in? I seem to have allowed myself fall into self sabotage mode and its making me miserable. 4 weeks ago I was at 160lbs, today I am 166.25. Now I know 6lbs isn't the end of the world but for me its a sign of what's to come. I have previously lost and gained 30lbs and this time last year I was 70 pounds overweight due to a change in meds. Its taken me 12 months to lose 30 lbs. So I'm half way there. I follow the TeamRH approach so fingers crossed its onwards and upwards for me... I'm going to go back and read all your posts for some motivation and admiration

Set up my paper journal to track my exercise goals in July and began testing them out yesterday! No reason to wait until July I’ve found that the graphs and paper journal help me reflect , focus and high 5 myself … something about all those colored pencils and doodles!
7/2 207.6 @ fishing camp 🎣 No walking long car ride, plank, squats, 1853 cal, 102 net carbs, 4 glasses of wine. Hoping this jump is from travel bloat and not actual gain. I was good at fast food ordering grilled chicken melt no bun at Whataburger and then dinner was jambalaya. But the wine and less water might have just taken me over the edge.

7/9: 175.5 (I'm at my half way point, with 49.5 pounds gone, and another 49.5 pounds to lose until I reach my goal at 126 pounds. I must say that I don't see much difference in my appearance. I'm telling myself it's because I'm losing fat evenly all over, so now I'm just a slightly smaller version of my earlier image. It's like I'm just standing a little further away! And now Elsa is working her way up the coast and there was some thunder earlier this morning, which frightens 2 1/2 of my dogs. I say half a dog because one is only slightly concerned. The fourth is rather deaf (she's 16). I was scheduled to jog this morning, but it looks like there is going to be a lull in the rain around suppertime and I'll go then. It is very strange because I feel as though I am losing weight slower than ever, but that's apparently an illusion and I'm actually weight faster. How weird.)

7/1 - 265.4 Still not sure what's going on with this downward trend. Weighed on 2 scales and had a 2 lbs difference today so I just went with first weight I took on my expensive "smart" scale. Never thought I'd want to have a flat two days but I need that right now just to know my scales aren't completely broken lol. Started a workout this morning but started coughing like crazy and didn't want to wake up my wife so will re-start tonight.
7/2 - 265.9 Alright, I went up this morning so I feel good that my scale works because I drank a ton of water yesterday. Underrated - Propel Water. Worked out last night, not this morning. Will get a workout in tonight and then landscaping all weekend. Probably fit a pilates and yoga class in each day just to keep moving.

7/7 - 263 I don't even know what to say anymore. I'm going to have to start bringing my scale out to the kitchen to weigh in. Our bathroom is smooth but something is definitely up. Granted, I ran 2 miles this morning and 2 miles last night and am probably under-hydrated but a 4.6 lbs swing? So annoying. My cheaper scale showed 265.8 but I haven't used that scale for any other weight so I don't want to start now. I don't trust anything right now. Anyway, I've never run 2 miles straight in my life before today and I did just over 20 minutes.
7/8 - 264.1 Did not workout this morning so a water difference for sure. Nothing inspirational or demotivational today just really tired. Going to run tonight and then have a great weekend!
7/9 - 262.8 I'm so close! I'll take the progress for this round for sure. So close to being in the 250s too! It's crazy to think that maybe 10 days from now I'll be there. In February I had COVID and was on supplemental oxygen 24/7 for a month. Now 4 months later I'm almost 40 lbs down and working out and RUNNING daily. Some days you just feel good about yourself and your progress and today is one of those days.

Big weekend of the BIG TWO. Spent most of yesterday on my fishing boat (the Kraken) which is a wonderful combination of constant movements and no-time-for-eating.

I named my boat the Kraken because she is old, ugly, and ornery. She decided to make my trolling motor unavailable yesterday. So, we compromised and still hauled a few bass over the gunwale. We do not eat bass, so they were tossed right back over.

However yesterday my sister brought home mini ice cream sandwiches. I did have one. I tried to split it with my son but he’s like me and thinks it’s too cold. No guilt though it was 90 degree yesterday. I have been mindful about what I am eating
7/9 197.1 So I finally have a weekend where I did not uptick. All I did was gain during the weekdays! I blame it on what stress does to the body. I am tired all the times, stressed so much that it does not leave me while I sleep. It is the last thing on my mind as I drift off and first thing when I wake up. Right now there is no comfort. Plus the kids were up half the night, so real exhaustion added too. Yesterday I was not great with mindful eating.
