7/01--215.3 Lazy day today, but I did walk to the produce stand to get some fruit and veggies.
7/02--215.8 Today was trainer day.
7/03--214.5--Went out on a 3.6 mile group trail walk this morning. Going to do some things around the house today, but otherwise I plan to take it easy.
7/04--214.0 Went to see my trainer today, it was a really hard workout but I got through it.
7/05--215.0 Soreness from workout yesterday and a high carb eating day causes an uptick in the scale today. Going to chiropractor today.
7/06--215.1
7/07--214.0
7/08--214.0 Had a high carb day yesterday, so I expect an uptick tomorrow. Trainer day today.
7/09--213.4 Surprised no uptick. Sore from workout yesterday, so will probably just take dog out for a walk later today. Husband made some amazing blueberry lemon scones yesterday, so I had to have one. Luckily, his friend came over last night to hang out and my husband sent the rest of the scones home with his friend.
7/10--212.5 Going for a hike today with hubby and puppy, this will be my puppy's longest hike, then hubby and I are going out for lunch.

06/30 …..196.4….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/01 …..197.6 ….. This is likely my true weight at this point. I ended with an especially low weight last round due to tummy illness. I am ready to take on this new challenge. I will make more changes to see more changes! Good luck everyone!
07/02 …..198.6 ….. Yikes. Yesterday was my son’s birthday, can you tell? Today will be on target. Tomorrow is a very long travel day with multiple meals out and very little movement. It won’t help the cause so I’m going to make today count and work hard on Sunday too. I’m NOT giving up Onederland!
07/03 …..197.8 ….. I made yesterday count after so many routine disruptions and it payed off. Travel today with multiple meals out and lots of sitting. A longer trip than usual that cannot be avoided. Next week will be a week of compensation for this week’s transgressions. All part of the lifestyle changes I have made. I must always pay the fiddler!
07/04 …..199.2….. After a long travel trip yesterday so this was expected but not appreciated. Today is America’s Independence Day holiday but I will have to tread carefully today to no lose anymore progress. I have pre-planned my meals and snacks and will be chugging the water. I will work on more steps too as yesterday was so much car riding and sitting. Have a safe and wonderful day today, my friends.
07/05 …..198.0 ….. I managed to keep the calories within check, even with it being a holiday. Epic fail on the carbs though. Today I will be more mindful of both to continue the progress. This will be an extremely stressful week that is so bad I can barely sleep. Too hard to even talk about. I just have to get through until Friday and then all will be okay. I hope there will be no emotional eating. The scale is coming back down but I am still over starting weight. Hanging onto Onederland has been successful so far. It was to hard to get here to let go of the rope!
07/06 …..197.4 ….. Yesterday was pretty good but I hardly got in steps due to a house full of company most of the day. Today I will be traveling again and a late lunch will be Chinese/Thai as my travel companion is looking forward to it. I’ll control the quantity by eating only half now, half later, but I do expect a jump on the scale. I have started to hope for and dream of being in the 180’s. I’m not sure how long it will take but I have been inspired by so many of you lately and I know I can do it too. It is still an emotionally rough week for me, but I can do this. I’m going to try to enjoy my day a bit today but not let the food/restaurant be the main attraction!
07/07 …..198.0 ….. An uptick on the scale after the travel and Thai food. I have leftovers for today so I may see another uptick tomorrow. I am going to tweak my overall day to accommodate. It is going to rain all day so I am restricted inside with a worker coming anyway. I plan on going up and down my stairs many times today to get in some difficult steps to help offset my overall day. I am over starting weight so I hope to get back there and at least a 0.1 loss to make my goal of Any Weight Loss per round. I’m not giving up and I’m not giving back my progress overall.
07/08 …..198.4 ….. Leftover Thai food showing up on the scale. Temporary water retention is probably what I am seeing. I will walk more, drink more water and pee more often I hope.
07/09 …..196.6 ….. Just shy of starting weight by 0.2. Bloat gone from all the travel this round and the Thai food. My goal each round is to just lose ANYTHING (thank you @quiltingjaine). If I play it cool today, I may just be able to get that done by tomorrow’s final weigh in!
07/10 …..197.6 ….. I honestly didn’t think that the ice cream would do a pounds worth of damage. Dammit!

My scale readings bounced up 4 pounds when I changed batteries, so I didn’t suddenly gain 4+ pounds. I didn’t want to write that down but, other than the horror of a heavier weight, what difference does it make? So I’m going with the new readings, dammit.

Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦 🍁 🦫 I’ve always thought of myself as half Canadian. My mom was born in Scotland, reared in Alberta, Canada, from 7 years on; my dad and sibs all born in Alberta. I missed by 2 years (though I’m eligible for citizenship by birth). So have a good one, eh?
7/2 - 187 - 1702
It’s a stunning day here, sunshiny, 70s — perfect! Off to do some garden work, then go walk the greenway. Have a lovely!
7/3 - 187 - 1672
I worked in the garden, mulching and transplanting, for about 4 hours yesterday. I was pooped! Also hungry, so I more mulching today, but I’ll try not to eat so much. Happy weekend!
7/4 - 188.6 - 1495
What? Weird. Happy 4th! (Couldn’t find yesterday’s post, which I remember writing, so I fudged.)
7/5 - 188 - 1627
Salty weekend, I guess. I’ve loaded, unloaded, moved around, and spread 40 bags of mulch and some compost the past 2 days, and walked, so have burned some calories. Probably just water weight.
7/6 - 187.8 - 1821
Ooops. I had a major snack attack last night and no self control. But apparently averages matter!
7/7 - 187.4 - 1536
A little better.
7/8 - 187.6 - 1623
All good. Mexican for lunch/dinner today, but other than salt it should be ok. I forgot to check in this morning! Schedule all messed up!
7/9 - 188 - 1593
Busy day yesterday, running hither and yon. I kept my calories reasonable even with Mexican carry out, but of course it was salty. No worries. It’s very cool today — 63 right now — so a good day to finish mulching my gardens and then do some deadheading. Happy Friday, all! (How can this round be almost over???)
7/10 - 187.6 - 1571
Ok, status quo. Given a couple of very high calories days, I’m fine with that. See you in the next round!6 -

7/2 114.5 Our daughter came up early, cut my hair, and went to water fitness with me. She said it was a humbling experience because we were “kicking her *kitten*!” I told her to come back on Monday because that instructor is much tougher.
7/3 114.5 Night of Fire at LVMS tonight. I love stock car races!
7/4 115.5 Happy Independence Day USA 🇺🇸 We had a wonderful time at the races🏁. I ate a hot dog 🌭 and bun so my carbs were almost double my daily limit but it’s okay. Ate all the salt that came off my friends soft pretzel plus pink salt at home and didn’t have nearly enough water. $4/20 oz bottle=racetrack robbery! Wonderful fireworks 💥 🎇 🎆

7/6 115.5 🤷♀️🤷♀️ maybe because of the vodka or not enough water? Under all macros for the day - we’ll see what tomorrow brings. The dessert I made was awesome, if I do say so myself!

7/8 115.5 Water fitness yesterday and DD#2 came. It was fun. I was tired last night and slept well - over 8 hours! Trumpets blare!!! That’s a switch!
7/9 115.5 Almost 8 hrs sleep - WOW. Water fitness this morning and lun-ner with the ladies this afternoon. Must run - well, not really but I do need to get ready!

The heat wave has lessened up today, so finally feel like working out this week!
7/2:169.9
Was halfway through drinking my morning cup of tea when I realized I hadn't weighed yet, so might actually be a little lower than this. Plan for today is a full body strength workout.
7/3: 169.9
Rainy day, but have lots to keep me busy inside, traveling tomorrow through Tuesday
7/4: 169.8
Likely will post a gain for Monday & Tuesday but know by Wednesday the scale will be back moving in the right direction - overall goal is to maintain this round - so the slight loss so far this round is a bonus!
7/5: 170.1
Lovely day yesterday & today I'm catching up with a friend I haven't seen since pre-pandemic:)Will be mindful of calories today but expect a small gain tomorrow which is fine. Goal is to maintain and stay under 171.
7/6:169.5
Nice surprise with this unexpected loss on the scale this morning.
7/7: 169.5
Feel like running today, been feeling it all week. I haven't run since the end of May due to a calf injury, which still isn't 100%, but running is my happy place so it's time to ease back into it. A little KT tape & I should be fine.

Month/Day: Exercise / Comment
7/1: 210.2
Good to be back with you all for another ten days.

7/6: 210.2
Big weekend of the BIG TWO. Spent most of yesterday on my fishing boat (the Kraken) which is a wonderful combination of constant movements and no-time-for-eating.
I named my boat the Kraken because she is old, ugly, and ornery. She decided to make my trolling motor unavailable yesterday. So, we compromised and still hauled a few bass over the gunwale. We do not eat bass, so they were tossed right back over.
7/7: 208.4
This was helped along by a spinning session at the gym last night.
7/8: 210.0
There is only one way to explain this, and it would be TMI. Let’ just say I didn’t gain any flesh and bone since yesterday. I have been a good boy. 😊

Brought scones into work this morning for my birthday. This is how we do it here.
7/10: Birthday 211.2
I really am like a water balloon. This number may not come down tomorrow because I went to a pancake / sausage breakfast this morning, and my folks are taking us out to eat at Panera tonight for my Birthday. Did I mention that it is my Birthday today?
I met my Major goal and my Specific goal this round. See you all in the next ten!

I'm back! I was gone all year. Last year, I lost 40 lbs, but gained 10+ back. I don't want to gain anymore. I seem to be able to bounce back and forth between this weight and 150. Sharing my numbers with this forum seems to help make actual progress, so here I am!
🏃 07/07: 152.8
I know in the beginning, the loss is mostly water weight and likely bloat in general, but I still like it!
🏃 07/08: 150.2
I have been cutting out the extra snacks. I know some of this is still water weight, but I'll take it!
🏃 07/09: 150.8
This is great! I wouldn't say I ate too much spaghetti or anything, so let's just say this is only because I've finally gotten through most of the water weight.

This will be a good way to start the next round. In the next round, I will need to start exercising for sure.

July focus:- maintain weight < 150 (I have been maintaining since November 2019)
- Work on improving stamina, strength, flexibility, which may impact the scale
- Gradually working my way down to being consistently under 140lbs
I liked this so much I'm borrowing it.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

- Strengthen strategies to reframe the tendency to use unhealthy snack food as a reward/treat.
- Make sure I have prepared healthy snacks available
- Cut down on eating between meals by keeping busy
Never give up! Never give in!
Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!
- 2021
- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

7/8 196.2 The ice cream truck was here yesterday and I refrained from having anything. It’s easy because I don’t really eat ice cream. However yesterday my sister brought home mini ice cream sandwiches. I did have one. I tried to split it with my son but he’s like me and thinks it’s too cold. No guilt though it was 90 degree yesterday. I have been mindful about what I am eating
7/9 197.1 So I finally have a weekend where I did not uptick. All I did was gain during the weekdays! I blame it on what stress does to the body. I am tired all the times, stressed so much that it does not leave me while I sleep. It is the last thing on my mind as I drift off and first thing when I wake up. Right now there is no comfort. Plus the kids were up half the night, so real exhaustion added too. Yesterday I was not great with mindful eating.

I'll take that pound + loss as I've been to a wedding, and then driven 10 hours the other day (yes-I ate at McDonalds while driving from New Mexico to Denver!) I've eaten better since arriving in Denver. And am about to be on my way to Minnesota. I'm 4 pounds away from being overweight! So hope this mini goal will keep me focused with on the road with my younger brother!

@topathemorning We always eat at McDonald’s when on the road. I just toss the biscuit from the bacon, egg and cheese; eat half of the hash brown for breakfast or skip the potato completely. Toss the bun from the burger. I always lost even though sitting for 10 hours.0
