I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.

Good to be back with you all for another ten days.

It is amazing what happens when I skip both big two in one day. Sugar and Salt. Now for the three day weekend
7/3: 210.2
Salt. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Oh, it’s 210.2!
7/4: 211.4

7/6: 210.2
Big weekend of the BIG TWO. Spent most of yesterday on my fishing boat (the Kraken) which is a wonderful combination of constant movements and no-time-for-eating.
I named my boat the Kraken because she is old, ugly, and ornery. She decided to make my trolling motor unavailable yesterday. So, we compromised and still hauled a few bass over the gunwale. We do not eat bass, so they were tossed right back over.
7/7: 208.4
This was helped along by a spinning session at the gym last night.

Good morning everyone, I know this is mid round, but mind if I join in? I seem to have allowed myself fall into self sabotage mode and its making me miserable. 4 weeks ago I was at 160lbs, today I am 166.25. Now I know 6lbs isn't the end of the world but for me its a sign of what's to come. I have previously lost and gained 30lbs and this time last year I was 70 pounds overweight due to a change in meds. Its taken me 12 months to lose 30 lbs. So I'm half way there. I follow the TeamRH approach so fingers crossed its onwards and upwards for me... I'm going to go back and read all your posts for some motivation and admiration
05.07.2021: 166.25
06.07.2021: 166.25
07.07.2021: 165.25. Was planning on a trail run yesterday evening but I had to cancel. Had, what I can only explain as a panic attack and had to lay down and breathe deep. Still hit my 15k steps though as I was up at 4am for work.

Happy July everyone

My scale readings bounced up 4 pounds when I changed batteries, so I didn’t suddenly gain 4+ pounds. I didn’t want to write that down but, other than the horror of a heavier weight, what difference does it make? So I’m going with the new readings, dammit.

Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦 🍁 🦫 I’ve always thought of myself as half Canadian. My mom was born in Scotland, reared in Alberta, Canada, from 7 years on; my dad and sibs all born in Alberta. I missed by 2 years (though I’m eligible for citizenship by birth). So have a good one, eh?
7/2 - 187 - 1702
It’s a stunning day here, sunshiny, 70s — perfect! Off to do some garden work, then go walk the greenway. Have a lovely!
7/3 - 187 - 1672
I worked in the garden, mulching and transplanting, for about 4 hours yesterday. I was pooped! Also hungry, so I more mulching today, but I’ll try not to eat so much. Happy weekend!
7/4 - 188.6 - 1495
What? Weird. Happy 4th! (Couldn’t find yesterday’s post, which I remember writing, so I fudged.)
7/5 - 188 - 1627
Salty weekend, I guess. I’ve loaded, unloaded, moved around, and spread 40 bags of mulch and some compost the past 2 days, and walked, so have burned some calories. Probably just water weight.
7/6 - 187.8 - 1821
Ooops. I had a major snack attack last night and no self control. But apparently averages matter!
7/7 - 187.4 - 1536

Previous Posts:7/1 - 173
7/2 - DNW Up at 3am so no weighing in today
7/3 - 172 I have a habit of forgetting to drink until around 3pm and then guzzling it all in a few hours. Today, I'm trying to sip water all day long.
7/4 - 172 Changing up my calorie range each day to low (1000 - 1200), med (1200 - 1600) and high (1600 - 1900) is really helping, especially the high range. It keeps me from feeling like I'm in a rut, and I feel more revitalized and ready to go again after the high calorie days.
7/5 - 172 Hit 172 last round then popped back up to 173 the end of the round, so glad to be at 172 the past 3 days. I'm going to try something new. I'm going to quit focusing on every tenth of a pound and see if I like it better to just track each pound lost (or gained) since it's very normal to fluctuate. I might change back because it may feel like it takes forever to post a change, but we'll see....
7/6 - 173 Too many chips and salsa. Added a checklist for those things I'm not doing well at the moment to tomorrow to keep me accountable. Already rowed this morning so have one down. That runner below is really talented. She appears to be running forward while actually running backwards!

7/7 - 174 Fruit (2) ✅; Water (80oz) ✅; Row ✅; Veggies (5) __3__ I chalk up the gain to watermelon late with way too much salt, and drinking over half of my 80oz of water between 7 and 10p. I'm trying so hard to learn to sip it throughout the day. Going to row now and will do better with veggies today, including the first swiss chard from our garden - yay!

Round 154 End Weight: 170 lbs.

The heat wave has lessened up today, so finally feel like working out this week!
7/2:169.9
Was halfway through drinking my morning cup of tea when I realized I hadn't weighed yet, so might actually be a little lower than this. Plan for today is a full body strength workout.
7/3: 169.9
Rainy day, but have lots to keep me busy inside, traveling tomorrow through Tuesday
7/4: 169.8
Likely will post a gain for Monday & Tuesday but know by Wednesday the scale will be back moving in the right direction - overall goal is to maintain this round - so the slight loss so far this round is a bonus!
7/5: 170.1
Lovely day yesterday & today I'm catching up with a friend I haven't seen since pre-pandemic:)Will be mindful of calories today but expect a small gain tomorrow which is fine. Goal is to maintain and stay under 171.
7/6:169.5
Nice surprise with this unexpected loss on the scale this morning.
7/7: 169.5
Feel like running today, been feeling it all week. I haven't run since the end of May due to a calf injury, which still isn't 100%, but running is my happy place so it's time to ease back into it. A little KT tape & I should be fine.

@schmoyew My suggestion is to not move the scale. (I line mine up on the grout lines on the bathroom floor daily.) Just ride the wave and track whatever you’re eating and drinking. Watch for patterns. What I eat can take 2-3 days to show on the scale although it seems to be there faster since I’ve lost so much. We are all different and our bodies don’t all react the same. You need to find what works for you. And you ARE down over 30 pounds! Your body may just be getting used to this whole plan!5

7/2 114.5 Our daughter came up early, cut my hair, and went to water fitness with me. She said it was a humbling experience because we were “kicking her *kitten*!” I told her to come back on Monday because that instructor is much tougher.
7/3 114.5 Night of Fire at LVMS tonight. I love stock car races!
7/4 115.5 Happy Independence Day USA 🇺🇸 We had a wonderful time at the races🏁. I ate a hot dog 🌭 and bun so my carbs were almost double my daily limit but it’s okay. Ate all the salt that came off my friends soft pretzel plus pink salt at home and didn’t have nearly enough water. $4/20 oz bottle=racetrack robbery! Wonderful fireworks 💥 🎇 🎆

7/6 115.5 🤷♀️🤷♀️ maybe because of the vodka or not enough water? Under all macros for the day - we’ll see what tomorrow brings. The dessert I made was awesome, if I do say so myself! https://lowcarbyum.com/cheesecake-salad/
7/7 115.0 Drank more water, increased my magnesium and woke up several times during the night with foot cramps. I need to remember SALT.3 -

06/30 …..196.4….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
07/01 …..197.6 ….. This is likely my true weight at this point. I ended with an especially low weight last round due to tummy illness. I am ready to take on this new challenge. I will make more changes to see more changes! Good luck everyone!
07/02 …..198.6 ….. Yikes. Yesterday was my son’s birthday, can you tell? Today will be on target. Tomorrow is a very long travel day with multiple meals out and very little movement. It won’t help the cause so I’m going to make today count and work hard on Sunday too. I’m NOT giving up Onederland!
07/03 …..197.8 ….. I made yesterday count after so many routine disruptions and it payed off. Travel today with multiple meals out and lots of sitting. A longer trip than usual that cannot be avoided. Next week will be a week of compensation for this week’s transgressions. All part of the lifestyle changes I have made. I must always pay the fiddler!
07/04 …..199.2….. After a long travel trip yesterday so this was expected but not appreciated. Today is America’s Independence Day holiday but I will have to tread carefully today to no lose anymore progress. I have pre-planned my meals and snacks and will be chugging the water. I will work on more steps too as yesterday was so much car riding and sitting. Have a safe and wonderful day today, my friends.
07/05 …..198.0 ….. I managed to keep the calories within check, even with it being a holiday. Epic fail on the carbs though. Today I will be more mindful of both to continue the progress. This will be an extremely stressful week that is so bad I can barely sleep. Too hard to even talk about. I just have to get through until Friday and then all will be okay. I hope there will be no emotional eating. The scale is coming back down but I am still over starting weight. Hanging onto Onederland has been successful so far. It was to hard to get here to let go of the rope!
07/06 …..197.4 ….. Yesterday was pretty good but I hardly got in steps due to a house full of company most of the day. Today I will be traveling again and a late lunch will be Chinese/Thai as my travel companion is looking forward to it. I’ll control the quantity by eating only half now, half later, but I do expect a jump on the scale. I have started to hope for and dream of being in the 180’s. I’m not sure how long it will take but I have been inspired by so many of you lately and I know I can do it too. It is still an emotionally rough week for me, but I can do this. I’m going to try to enjoy my day a bit today but not let the food/restaurant be the main attraction!
07/07 …..198.0 ….. An uptick on the scale after the travel and Thai food. I have leftovers for today so I may see another uptick tomorrow. I am going to tweak my overall day to accommodate. It is going to rain all day so I am restricted inside with a worker coming anyway. I plan on going up and down my stairs many times today to get in some difficult steps to help offset my overall day. I am over starting weight so I hope to get back there and at least a 0.1 loss to make my goal of Any Weight Loss per round. I’m not giving up and I’m not giving back my progress overall.

I'm back! I was gone all year. Last year, I lost 40 lbs, but gained 10+ back. I don't want to gain anymore. I seem to be able to bounce back and forth between this weight and 150. Sharing my numbers with this forum seems to help make actual progress, so here I am!

I know in the beginning, the loss is mostly water weight and likely bloat in general, but I still like it!

Goal Weight Round 155: 262
Round 154 ending: 266.3 (-8.6)
7/1 - 265.4 Still not sure what's going on with this downward trend. Weighed on 2 scales and had a 2 lbs difference today so I just went with first weight I took on my expensive "smart" scale. Never thought I'd want to have a flat two days but I need that right now just to know my scales aren't completely broken lol. Started a workout this morning but started coughing like crazy and didn't want to wake up my wife so will re-start tonight.
7/2 - 265.9 Alright, I went up this morning so I feel good that my scale works because I drank a ton of water yesterday. Underrated - Propel Water. Worked out last night, not this morning. Will get a workout in tonight and then landscaping all weekend. Probably fit a pilates and yoga class in each day just to keep moving.
7/3 - 265
7/4 - 265
7/5 - 265
7/6 - 267.6 I mean... alright. 3 days where the scale says the exact same weight followed by a 2.6 pound increase after our BBQ. I don't know. Feeling dejected lately. Body just keeps fighting me on this. Shoulder still in pain and battled a cold all weekend. Bad start to the week.
7/7 - 263 I don't even know what to say anymore. I'm going to have to start bringing my scale out to the kitchen to weigh in. Our bathroom is smooth but something is definitely up. Granted, I ran 2 miles this morning and 2 miles last night and am probably under-hydrated but a 4.6 lbs swing? So annoying. My cheaper scale showed 265.8 but I haven't used that scale for any other weight so I don't want to start now. I don't trust anything right now. Anyway, I've never run 2 miles straight in my life before today and I did just over 20 minutes.

I hope it's a real loss and not dehydration! You were 265 a couple of days ago, so this could be a real loss (and in that case, WOW! Well done on the running!5 -

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ Round 155 (round 87 for me ) I continue to prove time after time that I need this to help me keep on track! Thank you @QuiltingJaine for setting up the new challenge.
Challenge for this round is to continue yet again to work back towards maintanence – any loss will be a win! We should have been going away for a week in our caravan on Friday, but it has had to be cancelled as we are both in self isolation – (luckily, I've been able to rebook the site albeit not til next year 'cuz they are fully booked!, but at least we are not losing our money). We shall get away for the weekend after we get our freedom !!! A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.
Keep calm – we're all in this together! Wash hands, be kind, continue to follow all latest Government guidelines in roadmap to normality for C-19 virus. Be positive for the future – I've had both of my vaccines.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

Day/Weight/Comment
7/1 131.2 – shocked at this, checked scale several times, think some of the loss last couple of days is due to upset stomach and too much TMI! Another of my covid symptoms? See how it goes next few days Feeling much brighter today, might try a short jog in place later. Good food choices just 36 calories over yesterday, still no structured exercise.
7/2 132 – feeling even better today, still not 100%, but getting there! Good food choices again yesterday; within calories.
7/3 132 – feel much much better today, yes, can say back to normal, sensible food choices ysterday, within calories and still managed a chilled cider in the sunshine whilst enjoying my garden. Rain forecast today so garden off the cards!
7/4 132.4 – difficult to stay within calories on pizza night! 252 over. Itching to get out!
7/5 133.2 – need to get back to less 1340 calories today (was 500 over yesterday & scales reflect!), still no structured walking!
7/6 131.6 – sensible choices yesterday despite the challenges involved in running out of fresh produce only had 3 onions left, made delicious evening meal of salmon (from freezer), jacket potato, boiled onions and peas (frozen) all served with parsley sauce. We had a food delivery last night so yeah ! We have fresh fruit, veg & salad so today will be a lot easier to make good choices.
7/7 131.6 – nice to retain this number, good day yesterday again, enjoyed loads of veg with tea and good selection of fruit during the day. Looking forward to tomorrow !!!
7/8 131.6 - Freedom from self isolation!!! Also returned a negative LFT Hitching our caravan up & heading for the Yorkshire Dales!

08.07.2021: 166.25. Absolutely no reason whatsoever for this. Hit my 15k steps and stayed within calories. I haven't had a proper BM in about 4 days I'd say, so maybe its that?

7/6 Hi everyone! We got back from vacation on Saturday night, and we had a great time. We did a lot of walking and playing in the Virginia Beach waves. We were near the surfing part of the beach which was fun to watch too! My food choices were pretty decent but I definitely indulged a lot too! I’ll be picking up my CSA today and getting a double amount for the week I missed. So, I’m looking forward to stuffing myself full of veggies over the next week and a half. I didn’t do any running on vacation but we probably walked anywhere from 3-5 or more miles a day. I ran yesterday though and had great times, so that was encouraging as well. Now I’m off to go hang out with my friend who recently had a baby and bring her some healthy goodies for use to nibble on all day. Have a lovely day!
Ps. I also have an interview tomorrow, so I’m excited about that!
@playhardkf2017 Best of luck on your interview!
Thank you! It went really well and I'll know the decision in two weeks5 -

🔹Drink more water (target min 64-80 oz daily; start with 1 glass before coffee)
🔹Journal Food Daily (tracking with MFP since 12/28/2018; basically skipped June-Dec 2019; recommit 1/1/2020; skipped out April-July 2020; recommit 8/6/2020)
🔹Daily Vitamins (Dr’s orders; need to not ignore)
🔹Drink less alcohol (3 AF days per week; ~12-16 AF days per month; limit 1-2 glasses per day)

R155: Time to make some progress and strive for <200 in July!
Exercise Goal for this round: Daily planks, squats & hand weights. Bike once per week. Walk 100 miles in July!
🎯Mini Goal: 204.x (Repeat until I hit it!)
Day/Weight/Previous Day’s Comment
7/1 206.2 Walk 3.3 miles, 1 min plank, 10 squats, hand weight routine, bike 30 min, 1751 cal, 98 net carbs, 2 glasses wine dining out. Pretty sure that the unexpected Italian dinner out showed up on the scale and derailed all my exercise. Set up my paper journal to track my exercise goals in July and began testing them out yesterday! No reason to wait until July I’ve found that the graphs and paper journal help me reflect , focus and high 5 myself … something about all those colored pencils and doodles!
7/2 207.6 @ fishing camp 🎣 No walking long car ride, plank, squats, 1853 cal, 102 net carbs, 4 glasses of wine. Hoping this jump is from travel bloat and not actual gain. I was good at fast food ordering grilled chicken melt no bun at Whataburger and then dinner was jambalaya. But the wine and less water might have just taken me over the edge.
7/3 207.4 @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked 3.6 miles, fishing, squats, 1850 cal, 86 net carbs, 2 glasses of wine. Caught 16” speckled trout but due to the freeze earlier this year the TPWD narrowed the slot size from 15”-25” to 17”-23”. Catch & Release. No fish tacos
7/4 207.1 @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked 3.6 + .3 miles, fishing, squats, 2219 cal, 112 net carbs, 3 glasses wine.
7/5 208.7 @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked 3.6 + .6 miles, fishing, squats, 1399 cal, 82 net carbs, 1 glass wine, 1 Heineken 0.0. I’m not sure what caused this upswing ?????
7/6 207.6 @ fishing camp 🎣 Walked 2 miles, long car drive, 1565 cal, 67 net carbs, 2 glasses of wine. Avoided fast food on the drive but then succumbed to frozen pizza with extra fresh mozzarella when we arrived home in the evening. Expecting rain for the rest of the week.
7/7 206.4 Walked 1.2 + 1.3 + 1 miles walking my dog and my daughter’s 2 dogs, 1317 cal, 86 net carbs, AF.
7/8 205.7 Walked 2.4 + 1.4 miles, bike 30 min, plank, squats, hand weights, 1642 cal, 32 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Really busy day but no excuse … made the time to exercise! Decided Wednesdays would be my weekly push on attempting all my exercises.

I’ll be picking up my CSA today and getting a double amount for the week I missed, I I’m looking forward to stuffing myself full of veggies over the next week and a half.

7/8 Hi all! Yesterday was a busy day with my interview in the morning. I started yesterday with a nice 20 minute meditation session and then I went for a 2 mile run to help my brain function well during the interview. The interview went really well and thank you for all the well wishes! I’ll know in two weeks about the final decision 😊.
Food was kind of a mess yesterday after my interview because we got Thai food and then we went out to dinner after we went shopping for a new mattress. Today is a new day though and I plan on using the spin bike and going for a walk in between the thunderstorms we’ll be getting today. I also have lots of veggies to eat today from the CSA pick-up.
