Did a resistance cord workout DVD today then went for my walk. The plan for tomorrow is to do a workout for the rebounder

Tracey – if you were to blow out the candle, would you be able to put some sort of covering (even a pot lid) over it to keep the rain out?

Katla – one time our microwave gave out. Fortunately, we kept the counter microwave that we had from the apartment we were in before buying the house so we were able to use that until we could get a new microwave. I feel for ya. It’s amazing how dependent we get to it.

Barbara – lol β€œtraining for Guy’s Grocery Games”. No. I have my list and just (for the most part) get what’s on my list. For a while they haven’t changed where things are in the store (I hate when stores do that but I understand why they do it). I do like to go early in the morning when the shelves for the most part are stocked but more importantly there are shorter lines at the checkout.

I want to go to the Newcomer meeting today. They are meeting at this really nice place in Conover. They used to be so focused β€œat the airport, at the airport, at the airport” as if that were the only place. This place will put the airport to shame, it’s so nice. I’ve been there. But the downside is that we can’t have any activities in the evening unless we pay a fee, which makes sense since they still have to pay for a/c, heat, water, etc. But they may decide to have daytime activities there. Not sure how many people will go, tho. Update: we did go, I was surprised at how many people there were. Vince was saying that he thinks this might be the end of Newcomers because there are so many openings for coordinators of activities. I guess we shall see. The gal who is the president was really trying to have the Rummikub there at night. I told her that I can't do during the day (when the place would be free) but if someone would like to take over and have it during the day, I would relinquish. Personally, I think she may be afraid she'll lose a volunteer so she's trying real hard to be able to have it there. I also feel that they had a games night at the airport, but in order to get the room for free a certain amount of people had to purchase the dinner there.

Weight – one time years ago I lost a ton of weight, but I looked and felt like c***. That’s when I decided that there’s no way I want to continue like that. I have found that in the last year or so it does seem much harder to lose the weight. But I’m at a weight I’m usually at, just not going down. So I’ll take it if that’s all I can get

Allie – good for you. I see you’re really opening your eyes, I’m so proud of you for that

    Julie – (((HUG)))

Kiz – safe travels. I look forward to hearing all about it

Took my evening walk then played mahjongg by the pool then took a shower (exciting life I lead, huh?)

Machka - It seems amazing that your husband's compensation is not now done and dusted. How much longer will it be? Your longing to go home is completely understandable. <3<3

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Back near the beginning, soon after his accident, I read that cases like his (serious and complicated) can take 3-5 years to settle, with occasional ones going a bit longer. We're at 3 years, 4 months now.

ALLIE, thanks, it's sadly true that some people are sugar sweet when they want something. sorry about your brother. siblings can be terrible in some cases.

KATLA thanks ! It sounds wise to sell the boat if you can no longer use it.

RITA one day a week from once a day is a good reduction. It's true Alanon is for the loved ones of the drinker. I've read and heard lots of Thich Nhat Hanh which is rather poeticly written often, and there can be some help in there. Mixing and matching sources and approaches as you are can be good. How nice that you have a friend in your ex-daughter in-law.

    LISA nice quilt!

TINA I think my thing on my neck is not major either. it'll make a scar but oh well. What is the concert? Rock? Classic? Pop? It does sound like a pain in the neck with the ever-changing date. it must be something you really like to have bought a ticket a year early and then change vacation to go.

VICKI Somewhat similar to you perhaps, I also had a possible MDS diagnosis last November, after long term chronic WBC, with slow decrease. The results were mixed and some were lost but basically since I didn't have certain mutations they thought I probably don't have MDS but I'm supposed to get blood test every 3 months, sent to big specialist and to meet the specialist 1x a year to keep an eye on it. I found it a "pain" to now have to see the dermatologist every 3 months too. the latter is more time consuming. The lab test can be done anytime anywhere at my convenience.

    FLEA and TERRI Thank you

DEBBIE I'm right there with you. would like to lose a bit, but it seems so hard to do. My motivation is not what is has been. Weight is up today. :/

    slowish getting up.

    no exercise today

exercise would be a good way to start day but I need to write, maybe even more.
maybe I'll Quick walk the short trip to the cafΓ©.

my motivation for all tends to be good in morning and really flag as the day goes on. but there is no time to do all in the morning.

"Get to do"s and "chose well"s
Chose well: BP, dogs to powerline, dogs to GB for nail trims, chiro, meeting minutes,
Bonus: email to DH for clarification, 10 mins watering potatoes,
Get to do: take BP, dogs to powerline, T’ai Chi, call R, reconcile Medicare part B statements, review June council minutes, figure out how to see what’s using all our mobile data, USE those torture bands/do that BB&B video, call S, fire district: drop off cookies, transcribe district volunteer forms, research NFPA, grant NIMS requirements, ongoing: input 2019 call sheets into NFIRS, work with chief on equipment letter, substance abuse policy, NFIRS mutual aid and other missing details, Monday confer with Susan and Rhonda about interest for serving on next board, likewise Lee skills/tasks, ask for boots donator contact info, appreciation letter or certificate to boots donator, index mutual aid files; watch STAS Day 20, declutter sideboard, learn new dances (Nothing but You, Do Your Thing, A Little Less Broken, Blame it on my beating heart, Homesick; practice dances: One Margarita, I’m so used to being broke, All Night, Pure Movies to Wine, Beer, Whiskey, I ain’t never gonna love nobody but Cornell Crawford (Alley cat),); finish mulching flowerbed, invest another 10 minutes in prepping living trust, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, find and configure a screen time popup, figure out where to plant the last of the naked lady bulbs, and soon as it warms up above 50 and dries out below 60% humidity I’ll tape and spray paint those rusted areas of Aunt Elsie’s stove, ask Terry about GB’s FD firetruck tax levy – contacts, media, advocate???, Reward: inventory seeds, plan this fall’s garden, wishlist replenishments (Milena F1 orange peppers and beit alpha cukes next year).
    Jump back July:
15-Set yourself an achievable goal and take the first step: bring that step average back up to 6701 by walking every night to goal plus 100. Did last night and tonight, brought average up to 6662 
16-Find fun ways to distract yourself from unhelpful thoughts: I need this!

Thought I subscribed to Consumer Reports last week, but when I tried to login this weekend I couldn’t. Customer service emailed they could not find an account associated with my email. Checked the credit card I used, what’s this? ConsumerLabs not Consumer Reports??? Called to cancel and also entered a dispute against that charge in case they are slow to credit/refund. Then carefully went to Consumer Reports website and subscribed, get this. Full Access is $59/yr vs Consumer Labs’ $90/year. Caveat emptor.

Machka what Heather said. Hoping you can be free, and husband able, to travel to Canada soon.
Julie perfectly normal to be upset and worried about the squamous diagnosis. I’ve had skin cancer 4 times, and when I got the 3rd diagnosis I burst into tears when calling work to let them know I wouldn’t be back after the appointment. 3 times were basal (nose, chin, scalp) (really nothing serious) and once was squamous (nose again). I’ve had Mohs surgery 3 times, where they remove, then test the area around where they removed and if not clear they remove a little more tissue until it tests clear. My surgeon was an artist, made the tiny scars fall in the clefts of wrinkles so they are nearly invisible. Hope that’s what your surgery is scheduled to be, it’s very effective. I haven’t had a skin cancer diagnosis since 2005, but I get a whole body visual skin scan twice a year without fail. One dermatologist recommended Niacinimide which I take every day. Sounds like your dermatologist is a good one. Work can be a healthy distraction ;)
Rebecca Panda cookies? β€œShe kissed our cheeks. She said gamma and gwampa.” So happy for you. Feel like I got a hug.
Kiz in N FL, how do you test your triglycerides and where do you get the kits?
Katla β€œDeliberately having fun is good.” Yes!
Rita Glad to hear of progress, think I should copy your morning meditation walk. Hooray for the lake!
    Allie stick to your guns!
Lisa Wow that quilt! β€œIrony sandwich” now there’s an image
Tina I bought tickets to a special movie presentation that was pandemic-postponed indefinitely. I’ve been trying to get a refund for over a year. Grr. 3 vaccines in one day? Ouch!
Welcome @HillSlug98239 in Washington’s Lower Columbia Basin. So long as we’re spared wildfires, the Oregon Coast Trail would be an option to consider. the pooch!
Vicki ((hugs)) that DOES sound scary.
Carol β€œ125 lbs”? That IS a big dog! Shadow is only 60, and Tumble 30 and either can knock me off my feet without trying.
Kate and Cheri always love seeing your smiling faces when you pop by.

DH was grumpy on our trip to Gold Beach to get the dogs’ nails trimmed. Haven’t yet figured out if he doesn’t feel well or just hates to be a passenger in my car.

    Lighter, lovelies!

    Good morning,
I think the powers that be are trying to teach me a lesson.....
We had more guests last night at our house than we have had in the past three years! They were just out and about and stopped by. It was great to see them, but no work got done. Even got texts from 2 people I haven't heard from in awhile! So weird....good...but weird!
    Heading for blood work shortly.
Took tomorrow off work for a car show. Now rain is in the forecast. Will play by ear. NOT going to work though!

BTW.....coffee with no honey sucks! Looking forward to a cup after blood drawπŸ˜‰

    Have a great day!

Thanks for looking out Allie, I'm OK. Reading every day, just not terribly verbal right now. Did finish the quilt I was working on, getting it ready to ship to my niece. Been three years in the making.

Hi all! I woke up very early,so I was able to get exercise and writing done before I went into hostess mode. :D The writing was about a tough situation when I was a teenager, so it was a nice change of mood to get out to buy gorgeous flowers and madly extravagant fruit for our guests tomorrow. :o
We finished making the bed, fixed the hook on the curtains, and I put out towels. It looks ok for a room that badly needs decorating. Now just to finish mending the bathroom. Iight pull. As usual, it was me who had to figure it out. ;)

All good. Tandoori chicken tonight, with roasted cauliflower. Raita.

    Hi ladies!
My sister's visit is going better than expected. She is a pleasure, her grandson is mostly tolerable. I caught him trying to peek under my closed bedroom door.

I have been eating way too much. And cooking for everyone. My mom is overwhelmed just sitting in her chair. My dad has been playing projects with his great grandson, who runs him ragged. So we are all busy. Now if I could just get in the bathroom!

Annie ~ I am so glad you are enjoying your sister's visit even if the grandson is a bit of an imp.

Lisa ~ The quilt is lovely and I love your bed. It looks so rustic and sturdy.

Katla ~ I hope your new microwave and stove get put in soon and you will enjoy using them.

Rebecca ~ Know your son and DnL are loving having you and the chief visiting. Homemade biscuits & gravy...YUM!

Allie β€” I am currently knitting a baby blanket for our son and DIL. They are expecting another little boy this fall. I have knit one for each newborn in the family. Barbie and Cheri regularly knit &/or crochet baby blankets for newborns and donate them to hospitals and birthing centers. Once I have finished knitting the one for our upcoming grandson, I will see about knitting for nearby hospital maternity facilities. I like to be able to keep my hands busy and away from snacks. :flowerforyou:

Lisa β€” I had a colonoscopy last year and had to show the doctor’s office Covid vaccination proof before I could go in the door for the procedure. :ohwell:

Michele β€” Our old microwave/oven combination were in the kitchen when we moved here more than 20 years ago. We were the first residents to live here. They worked well until they stopped altogether. The new microwave and oven combination is in the garage waiting to be installed. :star:

Kylia β€” Have your tried stevia in your coffee? No calories. It is not as sweet as real sugar, but I like it well enough.

Carol in GA β€” I am eager to have the old appliances hauled away and the new installed. It feels like it is taking longer than necessary. The company that will be doing the work has put us on a waiting list for installation. :ohwell:

    Yoga today!!!

Katla- I use local honey in coffee for the allergies. It works wonderfully! Couldn't have this morning until after blood work. Tasted so good when i finally got it!
    Machka- work from home-good.
Reserge- not good. I take it people have been traveling again?

    Back to work.

Rebecca--Sounds like your visit is off to a great start. Looking forward to pictures.

Sounds like the numbers for Covid are going up around here also. OSHA is now in charge of rules for hospitals, nursing homes, and airports. So they have us back at square one. It was interesting when I was at the doctor Wednesday and we are talking about having to be careful about infections he never said anymore about getting the shot. But he was looking thru my phone at my blood counts from giving blood and it says they tested me each time and I have the antibodies.

Kylia β€” We will be traveling to the east coast for the birth of a grandchild in the fall. I’m spending evenings knitting a baby blanket and watching TV. Yesterday it was the Calgary Stampede and several veterinarian shows. πŸŽπŸ•πŸˆπŸ„πŸ“ I like critters. 😎

Rebecca - I had the same feeling about the toys when my grandchildren were tiny. Total overwhelm!!!!! They did sort of straighten them out after bedtime, but it wasn't very methodical. But life is so very exhausting with a toddler. Tidy and clean is not a priority. As long as the kid is happy. :p I used to recoil at the area under the table!!!! Ugh. DDIL said she had to decide not to worry about it or she would drive herself mad.
Sooooooo glad you are getting some Athena time at last. <3
I gave DH his haircut just now. He hasn't been feeling robust just now with allergies and sleeping problems, so I decided to have compassion and managed to do it with good grace. It only took 10 mins, including ears and eyebrows. Now he looks smart for his sister. :p

Much love to all, Heather UK xxxxxx
