Viktor, it’s a macaroni and cheese night for me—that’s pasta primavera, please, and a side salad and iced tea. A piece of Italian cream cake for dessert would be great. I think I’ll sit at the table by the fireplace in the dining room for dinner and then move to the club room for dessert. I can relax in my recliner, have dessert, and read my book.

Good afternoon. I’m early today because I decided to hang out on the terrace at the cybercafe. I’ll sit in the ocean side gazebo with my Sapphire martini (straight up with three olives) and a cheese and freggies plate. Francois always remembers to bake my favorite little cheese crackers. It’s a perfect day here. Viktor already has my dinner order for later. I can sit at the table by the fireplace in the dining room for dinner. There’s going to be the ubiquitous basket of breads, rolls, and biscuits, of course. I’ll start with the Roquefort and poached pears on a bed of spring greens. Then stuffed salmon, roasted parsley potatoes, and carrots. To finish I’ll have the caramel apple pie with coffee.

Hi Linda, I've been watching movies all day. For dinner tonight I'll have the meatloaf special with mashed potatoes, beans, gravy and dinner rolls. Lots of butter as well, and a coca cola with all that. For dessert I'll have some brownies and an iced mocha. I'm sleepy tonight. I think I'll have dinner out on the terrace.

Oh, my goodness, it’s National Cookie Day! I cannot wait for the Cookie Buffet at the Cybercafe this evening. I’m heading into the kitchen to bug Francois. Maybe he’ll have some baked ravioli and garlic bread that can be served with Caesar salad and my favorite Pinot Noir.

Hi Linda, National Cookie Day? The cookie buffet looks pretty good. I'm going to have dinner first. Tonight I'm going to have a Porter house steak with baked potato and salad. Lots of butter and a coca cola with dinner rolls. For Dessert I'll have some of those cookies, and an iced mocha. Lets see we have peanut butter cookies, peanut butter blossoms, chocolate chip, sugar. I could be on a sugar high.

Hellooo, I'm starving tonight. I think I'll have the fried chicken platter with mashed potatoes, gravy, beans and dinner rolls. A coca cola with all that please. For dessert I'll have some brownies and an iced mocha. Before dinner I think I'll take a dive in the red and green pool. Igor is teaching Jorges how to decorate for Christmas and doing a really good job at all.

Zzyyggy, I must apologize. Sweetie and I got here last night, but I didn’t have time to post. Sweetie saw the cookie buffet, grabbed the tray of chocolate covered toffee cookies and ran out the door. I found him on the beach scarfing down the cookies. What was I to do? I came back to the cafe and asked Viktor for a thermos of coffee and then joined Sweetie on the beach.

Well, I’m here tonight. Sweetie is safely ensconced in front of his computer after eating the incredible salmon dinner Francois made for us. I’m planning on hiding in the library. Fortunately Igor and Jorge haven’t decorated it yet. I really like things to be uncluttered, which is difficult when you live with a clutter bug. I know I can find a quiet corner to hide in where I can have some cookies and coffee and read my book in peace. Maybe Francois has some molasses ginger cookies. I love those cookies. If you roll them out thick they’re soft and are delicious when iced. If you roll them out thin they’re crispy and make the cutest little gingerbread people.

Hi Linda, missed you last night, but the cookies were good. I see Francois had some left over as well. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a big bowl of seafood chowder with lots of bread and butter for dunking. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have a slice of devil's food cake, and an iced mocha. Before dinner I think I'll go for a dip in the pool and then have dinner on the terrace. And I'll have some of those cookies.

Viktor, I’ll have some biscotti and a coffee, please. I’m really late this evening. We were gone all afternoon and didn’t get in until after dark. I had to talk to my sister and then do all those silly little chores that eat up the hours. I got the towels folded! So much excitement.

Zzyyggy, I guess I’ll see you tomorrow here tomorrow. In the meantime I’ll finish up my macaroni and cheese with lots of veggies and sausage, and then it’s time for dessert. Some Semifreddie’s chocolate dippped almond biscotti and Peet’s Cafe Domingo for me.

Hi Linda, Couldn't sleep so I thought I'd try this again, and it worked. I'm going to have a slice of apple pie and vanilla ice cream with an iced mocha. It's a good thing those mocha's don't have any caffein in them. Maybe I'll have some of that macaroni and cheese as well. That looks and smells good.

Great time last night Zzyyggy. I figured I’d go for a swim in the cyberpool this afternoon. Viktor is bringing out a cheese and freggies platter for everyone, along with everyone’s favorite drink. I’m sure he won’t forget my favorite little cheese crackers. After the sun goes down and we move over on the terrace for dinner I’m going to order the Italian wedding soup. Francois is making his delicious apple strudel tonight and I’m ordering that with vanilla ice cream topped with caramel sauce.

Hi Linda, coming in a little early today. I think I'll go for a swim in the pool as well, and enjoy the cheese and veggie platter. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a bowl of french onion soup with lots of bread and butter, and a coca cola. And yes I'll have some of that apple strudel with vanilla ice cream and an iced mocha. Love the nice 78 degree weather out here on the terrace with the breeze coming in off the ocean.

Hi Linda, I'm going for a swim in the cyber pool since I haven't been to the Y all week. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the fried scallops with french fries lots of tarter sauce and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate cup cakes and an iced mocha. Have you seen all the holiday cookies Betty has been baking this month. I've asked Francois to set up a holiday cookie bar on Christmas Eve with all those yummy treats. Igor is going crazy with the plastic Christmas characters outside, but it is looking pretty festive.

Zzyyggy, you’ve got me thinking about the fish entrees. Viktor, I’ll have the salmon cakes, a salad with lots of tomatoes, sautéed garlic green beans, and an iced tea, please.

Of course, I’ve seen Betty’s Christmas cookies, but I’ve got some of her recipes from years past that I haven’t seen yet. One was a cherry almond cookie that I love. I used to make 15 to 20 different cookie recipes for Christmas. We traveled all over to visit family and took cookies for everyone. There were chocolate dipped chocolate mint wafers, fruitcake cookies, filled cookies (apricot, raisin, nut), snowball cookies, lemon wafers, cracker toffee, molasses ginger cookies, orange almond cookies, spritz cookies, iced sugar cookies, pecan pie bars, almond crescents, Betty’s macaroons and raspberry ribbon slices, and more. Then there’s the various biscotti recipes we experimented with. Over the years and through our many moves we found new recipes and lost some recipes that I loved but could never find again. We made candies and fruitcakes and chocolate chip cookies and oatmeal cookies with all sorts of additional goodies like nuts and M&M’s (of course). Nowadays I stick to one or two recipes and that’s it. I’ve promised to make my molasses ginger cookies into mini gingerbread men because they begged me and I can’t say no. They’re delicious, but it’s so fun to give them away. I might make the super duper chocolate chip cookies I made last year. I’m not sure about that because they’re terribly hard to resist.

Hmm, perhaps I should have just stuck with my order, I’ve gotten a bit carried away. It’s just there are so many wonderful memories tied up in all those cookies we all made. And ate, oh, my. I think I’ll go sit quietly and read my book for awhile.

Hi Linda, Food is like that especially cookies. When you get to talking about food it's a conversation in itself. I have fond memories of cookie recipes as well. Every year my family gets together for a cookie swap during the Christmas season rather then a present swap, and each of us brings a different cookie recipe. I've been bringing peanut butter chocolate chip with Christmas m&ms embedded. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a bacon cheeseburger with french fries and a coca cola. For dessert I think I'll have some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. I'm not sure what I'm going to have for dinner in the real world. I wish Francois could majically appear and make me what ever I want. I might just have a bowl of soup.

Hey, Zzyyggy! Francois has been in the kitchen baking for the holidays and I had to order a plate of Christmas cookies for dinner. Viktor will be here shortly with our cookies and coffee.

Cookies made with M&M’s get extra points in cookie exchanges. My rules. And, yes, Francois would be wonderful to have, but then, Sweetie cooks, however, he’s not always great about the clean up part.

Hi Linda, cookies before dinner hmmmm my mother would not be happy with me, but oh well I'll have a plateful of Christmas cookies and an iced mocha. I'm roasting a chicken for dinner in the real world and the apartment is so nice and warm with the oven on and smells so good. I think I'll have the same thing at the Cyber Cafe. Roasted chicken, Stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, dinner rolls, and green beans. No I'm not having all that in the real world. I'll have a coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have some more Christmas cookies and another iced mocha. When I cook a roast chicken just for myself I have just the stuffing and acorn squash. All the other stuff is just too much work for little ole me.

Viktor, I’ll have what she’s having! Mm, delicious. Zzyyggy that sounds wonderful. I keep forgetting to put butternut or acorn squash on the shopping list. Oh, and fresh green beans would be nice, but Sweetie is going to Costco either tomorrow or Tuesday and if he buys green beans there it’s a huge amount so I’ll have to wait until he goes to Harris Teeter or Walmart.

Hi Linda, I cheat and get the precut acorn squash now. It saves me time. I also get the frozen string beans that don't need to be prepped. For dinner tonight I'm going to have the old fashion salsbury steak with mashed potatoes, peas and gravy. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have some brownies and an iced mocha.

Hi Linda, I'm starved tonight. I'm going to have a bucket of the fried chicken from you know where with the mashed potatoes, gravy and biscuits with lots of butter, and corn on the cob. A coca cola with all that please and I'll even share the bucket of chicken orignal recipe of course. For dessert I'll have some apple pie and some vanilla ice cream with an iced mocha. I'm going to enjoy the outside bond fire tonight and maybe have some s'mores later.

Thanks for sharing your dinner, Zzyyggy. Francois outdid himself with the biscuits, too. I’m think I’m finally ready for dessert now and that apple pie sure looks good. While the bonfire is nice, I’m glad these recliners have heated seats and backs. Even at the cybercafe it can get cold in the evening and overnight. Nice night for it though, just look at all those stars.

Hi Linda, I think I'm all moved into the cyber cafe for the winter. I took a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. It's a good thing too because Winter is coming in in a big way this weekend. At least we'll have a white Christmas. I don't plan on going anywhere at all Friday and Saturday. For dinner tonight I think I'll have the Blt grinder with no tomatoes though, french fries, and a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. Aaah sunset at the cyber cafe.

Zzyyggy, I’m definitely going to be spending my days at the cybercafe for the next two weeks if the forecast stays as cold as they say. With 40 degree days, and nights in the 20’s, plus the Christmas weekend high at 37 degrees, Winter is in Charlotte early. Tonight I’m planning on hibernating in the cybercafe’s man cave and watching something mindless that I can fall asleep to. Igor’s got the popcorn machine going and there’s M&M’s in the candy machine and Dr. Pepper, too. Somehow the dog and the cats have managed to follow me so I’ll probably have to share my recliner with them. Hopefully, I can manage to get the dog to stay in her own recliner. Useless doesn’t like to share, especially when it means sharing with the dog.

Hi Linda, I'm trying to picture that, a dog, cat and a mouse curled up in a recliner. Very cozy. I'll join you but in my own recliner. For dinner tonight I'm going to have pizza and chicken wings with a coca cola. For dessert I'll have some chocolate chip cookies and an iced mocha. Hasn't started to snow yet. I took before pictures this afternoon, and will take some after pictures tomorrow.

Snow! We’ll have to have some snow at the cybercafe so we can sit in the mini cafe by the indoor pool and watch the storm. The floor to ceiling windows make the indoor pool a perfect spot to enjoy the storm and the mini cafe’s couches and chairs are so comfortable. Plus, there’s coffee and cafe mochas.

I think I’ll have a little tiny piece of the pizza we had for dinner earlier. It was delicious.

Hi Linda, been spending the day watching it snow outside. It's that big fluffy white snow, hanging onto everything, and making everything slippery. Haven't been outside. For dinner tonight I'm going to have a big bowl of seafood chowder with lots of bread and butter. A coca cola with that please. For dessert I'll have some of those cup cakes as well. We missed national cupcake day yestarday. We'll have to make up for it tonight. Francois has set up a cup cake bar for us. Oh and an iced mocha with that please. We can have it snow tonight into tomorrow. I never get tired of watching it snow.

Thank goodness the guys set up the cupcake bar in the mini cafe by the indoor pool this evening. What a wonderful place to watch the snow. Those floor to ceiling windows are perfect for making you feel as though you’re outside. It’s amazing how there’s no draft coming off the windows. I may stay here all night in my recliner just watching the snowstorm. Of course, we could go sit in the Club Room later, by the fireplace. You can see the snow through the french doors. Not quite the same impact as the indoor pool, but still lovely. I can’t wait to have cupcakes and a cup of hot mocha cafe.
