Female, 54years young, 5feet 5inches.
I hit my highest weight in January 2021 at 162lbs.
This journey on MFP - with this group - has helped me to start caring about myself & my health again.
Logging food consistently…. though tedious…has been key, and the other component has been getting out for walks at least every other day 30-60 minutes. This part I try to look at as a gift to myself, not a chore!
Anyway I joined MFP Jan 11/21 at 162lb. So happy I came upon this group……Great people and lots of intelligent exchange and great support😊
Overall I have lost about 8/9lbs and start this new Challenge at 154ish’ lbs😉
MY GOALS this time around:
SW 154lbs Oct 31/21
#1 GW 150lbs Nov 30/21
#2 GW 146lbs Dec 31/21
#3 GW 142lbs Jan 31/
I’d like to incorporate strength training as well and get my muscles back!
Plus** Not let stress & worry about others derail my commitment to my own health**
Weigh Ins will be Mondays.

Hello all! I am going to give this a try. I have been actively watching my CICO for almost 2 years. In the spring I started eating gluten free-ish (about 95%) to help alleviate symptoms from hasimoto's. I started Dec 1, 2019 at 231.0 lbs. I am a 38 year old mom of two who "loves" to run half marathons.
11/1: 203.4 lbs - 20 days out from my half marathon and no motivation to train.
11/2: 202.6 lbs - yesterday was a good day eating wise but not much exercise.8 -

Logging your food honestly is the best way to keep yourself accountable. It's harder to log when you've overeaten, because it reminds you that you're not doing as you'd planned, but that's precisely why those are the days that are most important to log. We all have off days, just try to keep them to a minimum. This Grook of Piet Hein's (I love his Grooks) seems appropriate here:The Road To Wisdom
The road to wisdom? - Well, it's plain

Err and err and err again
but less and less and less.

@frankwbrown OMG I love this. May I use it on other challenges?3 -
My name is Donna and I am 61 years old. I live in the Midwest of the USA. 5' 5" tall. My starting weight was 253. I have relapsed in the past year and need to get back on track. I am type 2 diabetic and in remission for breast cancer. Health is my #1 priority.
Thank you @RubyRed427 for starting another challenge.

Nov 03…..189.0(Trend Weight: 187.9)….. Weight down a touch, but trending up. Good news on my surgery results. No sign of breast cancer in the surgical tissue lumpectomy. So it looks like I may be around awhile folks! Today is my daughter’s 27th birthday who lives with me. There will be festivities, food, cake, ice cream etc. So many reasons to double celebrate today for us! Tomorrow, back on track! Snow again here today. Outside too cold but I will try to get my steps in the house around the renovation men. The tile project should be done by tonight. Another week or two of men working and I will get a break until after New Years. I can’t wait!

Hi everyone! I lost about 10 lbs. in the last challenge, so while not a crazy amount, it definitely was motivational for me! I like the idea of a 3 month goal as it allows some room for flexibility and adjustments, but not so much that you feel like you can slack. And with it being the holidays, I'll need to stay balanced more than ever and remember that a holiday is a holiday, not a holiweek.
I set my challenge goal for 147 lbs, which would put me at a healthy BMI again. I felt so fantastic in the 140s last year and can't wait to get back. But first, we gotta hit the 150s! So that's my goal for this month! Then I figured I'd give myself the other two months to lose the next 10 lbs, which I figure is more flexible with the holidays in case I have weeks where I only manage to maintain.

Right there with you regarding the difficulty of losing weight at 53 (for me 54!)
Three months in to the menopause journey and my body is so out of wack!!!!
No sleep for months on end, wicked hot flushes, and migraines weekly.
The logging is helping me to identify what triggers symptoms & headaches etc. Interestingly I'm finding that serving SIZE - especially of simple carbohydrates, affects my symptoms a lot. MFP Food logging 👍
Now if I could just smarten up and stop with the sugar!!

@RunDMC2021
Oh my gosh...yes the sugar!!!! That's a problem for me lol And I love how you are using MFP to identify triggers with your menopause symptoms!! That's a great idea! I'm over a year now and my symptoms are relatively mild...touch wood!!! Keep logging...we got this!!!3 -
Hi Everyone! Glad to see everyone back on the challenge and new people, too. I only lost 6 pounds on the last challenge, but if I can keep going down rather than up, I'll be happy! Trending towards plant-based foods, so I'll see if that works for me.

Stayed within my calories yesterday, but ate two donuts. Not going to do that again. I fell into a trap of not having a snack handy for after my run and went for what was convenient (also the donut wasn't going to last another day, so just not going to buy them anymore)7 -
