Previous days

11/8 Forgot to weigh this morning because I was in a hurry. Had a nice non scale victory on my birthday morning though and ran the best 5 miles in a long time, 3 out of the 5 miles were sub 10 minute miles which I haven’t done in a LONG time! So, I’m super excited about that 😊. Another non scale victory I forgot to mention last week was that I took my measurements and lost an inch from my hips even though my weight has gone up and down over the past month and half since starting strength training.
Today I’ll be catching up at work after being on vacation and then my husband is cooking us dinner while I go get a massage after work. So, it’ll be nice to get home and not have to worry/think about what’s for dinner (we were going to get Indian takeout but we some food in the fridge that needs to get cooked). Either way, I don’t have to think about it so it’s a win in my book. Have a happy Monday all!

11/9 119.4 Ugh, my body is a ball of pissed off hormones, TOM is arriving very soon and we ended up getting Indian takeout last night after all and then my mother in law surprised me with a couple treats from the bakery for my birthday which I indulged in, so hello water retention. Super tired today because I slept horribly and woke up feeling very sensitive to everything, it’s like all my senses were heightened in a panicky way. It was bizarre and reminded me of when I was younger and just “didn’t feel good” as my 10 year old self would say. I think it was just a borderline panic attack, so I hung out with my cat for a few minutes before getting my butt in gear to go for a nice slow 4 mile run to help recover from yesterday’s awesome but higher intensity run.

Food choices are going to be tough because when I’m tired I want all the foods that aren’t great for me. Even the Body Battery on my Garmin watch told me it was 43 to start the day when normally it’s 80+.

On the bright side, I did have a lovely birthday and I’m looking forward to making 31 another great year for me!

11/09 - 149.6 - I'm beyond bloated this morning. Uncomfortably so, but at least not painful. BF had a gurgly stomach last night and he's thinking it was the chili finally getting to him. I'm wondering if that's my problem as well. No proper TMI is also adding to the scale. Water was okay, about 80oz. Instead of a workout, we reorganized house to bring BF's office back in the house now that it's getting a tad too chilly to be in the garage. It has a window unit AC, but no heat in there. Hopefully come January, we will be in a good enough place to look to buy a house that suits our needs so we don't have to have him taking over our dining room. (Especially frustrating when I'm working from home and he has to be on camera. The front door is in full view and only a corner of the living room is hidden. I have to plan my potty breaks, me leaving/coming home, and getting food from the kitchen around his meeting schedule to avoid being on camera.) Today I'm not sure about anything. Crazy meetings coming up right around the time it is warm/light enough out to walk. And food, well, getting ready for a weekend away so we've been trying to use up perishables before we go, limiting my healthy selection. I think I have one bag of salad left I might munch on.

11/08 - Chili for dinner, that's all I can say about this. 80 oz water, only 10oz shy of what I normally try to drink so much better. Probably retaining some of it while I work to rehydrate. It will likely take a few days to flush out. Time change has my sleep messed so that's likely not helping, either. My birthday camping trip is this weekend since we had to postpone. Will be busy getting everything ready for that (:

@SheilaBoneham OREO "took" the responsibility every time of putting the frisbee away and getting it out from its storage location. Our current dog (Poppy) is a poodle-King Charles Cavalier mix, which DW loves. She is a puddle of cuddle lap-dog and hasn't known a day of "work" in her life. OREO hated laps. She needed to be always positioned in the house so she could see where everyone is.

Oh, and OREO loved another game. If I picked up a tennis ball in the house, she raced to the top of the steps and waited. I would toss it up and she would catch it no matter how hard I threw. Then she would lay down with both paws over the top stair riser, but her chin between them on the floor, and release the ball. Keeping her chin between her paws she watched it bounce down the steps one at a time back to me. Once the ball was back in my hand, she stood for another. Repeat until I got tired. Can you tell I miss her?

We have said Poppy is our last dog, but if you placed a puppy Rory in front of me, I won't be responsible for my own actions.

11/08: 157.0 - Well, I really need to focus on my eating. I’ve kind of been on autopilot with meals, but these last 4 days I was going back to some bad habits (eating even after I knew I was at the top end of my calories). When I’m not in my usual routine is when I get derailed. That means two things: I need to figure this out for upcoming holidays and travel, and I need to get back on track here at home and not let this short slide turn into a longer one.
11/09: 156.5 - Did my usual Jazzercise workout and normal meals with the exception of the last of the birthday cake.

11/8: 201.8 53 net carbs, Pelo ride done, and step goal achieved. I’m starting to see a pattern emerging with the way my body loses now- stalling for about 2 weeks surrounding TOM, then suddenly dropping a lot all at once for about 10 days before starting the pattern again. That makes it feel like I have very little time each month to lose, but if it’s going to be bunch within those 10 days, then it’s really not so bad after all.

11/9: 201.6 63 net carbs, step goal achieved, and strength workout done. I had an incident where I had my injera recipe put into the MFP recipe calculator previously, but made it a little different this time but didn’t edit the recipe until after I already ate it. Still managed to pull off a good day in spite of the injera incident though, so I’m happy with that 0.2 loss! I also am wearing a pair of size 10 jeans today- the first time I’ve actually worn them since I bought them a few weeks ago as a motivator. Talk about a confidence boost!

11/8 216 (+.4) Hiked 6+ miles with my sister yesterday. It was a beautiful day in the mountains. I should be on a downward trend tomorrow. No scheduled exercise today, but I’ll be drinking lots of water.
11/9 215.4 (-.2) Today, I’m back in the pool. My low weight was last Friday. I had my indulgence meal Friday night and I’m still trying to catch back up. No hugs necessary. Just playing some mind games that come along with losing weight. As long as I stay focused, the whoosh will come.

May 10, 2021:183.1 - just 2.9 pounds off 186, my heaviest weight ever (stopped posting on this challenge July 2020 - very glad to be back!)

Calorie/Carb Cycling with an average of 1200 to 1400 calories at the end of 10 days. 80 oz water each day. Row/Walk/Free-Weights most days. IF, no sugar. Focus on getting enough vegetables. If I hit each of these, the weight loss will follow!

11/08 - 217.2 I set my goal for this round to 215 because that will put me into "overweight" BMI. I've been snacking A LOT lately but I've also been working out like a madman so I feel like it's deserved. A healthy relationship with food is important to establish getting closer to the goal. Had my booster shot on Saturday and that knocked me out but still had a 45 minute PR on the Peloton.
11/09 - 218.9 My body does not like the beginning of the week lol. I didn't work out so that definitely plays a factor but this is every Monday/Tuesday. Took progress pictures this morning though and it's honestly crazy to see beginning of weight loss vs now.

I know what good habits are. I know what low calorie is and what low carb can do to help me. I recognize the right foods. It’s time to stop glancing at it all and start staring at what I need to do. It has been out of control since just before my surgery.

@_JeffreyD_ After we got Oskar, my “not a cat person” husband said “no more cats.” Last week he said he might relax that statement. I think Oskar at 9 1/2 would be much better off with a playmate. 🤷‍♀️

I would like all of the prayer warriors out there to add my older daughter to your lists.
