    🌲December Challenge🌲

Hello members. My name is Mary, 61 years old and my driver's license says 5'7" but I just measured myself and 5' 5 1/4 inches. I wanted to say thanks for the support this group has given to me. I enjoy the sharing of updates as we face our challenges in attaining a healthier version of ourselves.

This has been my most consistent month so far. I prefer the consistency. I have 3 lbs to lose to reach my December goal. I really think we all should applaud the fact that we are on this journey to our healthier version of ourselves in the fun crazy month of December and not forget in a pandemic. 👏👏👏

So one pound to go to hit my December goal but the next 2 weeks will be filled with snacking and Christmas cheer temptations. My 7 day average weight it 182.2 lbs. I remind myself that because of the awareness that stepping on the scale today was a positive but not constant. Again love this group for the support.

    Hello Everyone!
I'm Mary 64, 5'4" from Pennsylvania. My goal is to get back down AGAIN to 122 lbs. Kept it off for about 5 years and then got lazy. My body just stores Carbs to easily. I work long hours and exercise on my 3 off days/week, making up for my 4 work days. I started this challenge in November and will continue through December and January. Great group of motivating members! Thank you Jill! My goal is 5 lbs for December. My other goal is 15 lbs for Nov, Dec and Jan. JOIN US!

    🌲December Challenge🌲

Highest weight: 255 lbs (twice) :-(
    Current weight:176.2 lbs
    November goal-5 lbs
    November loss-5.6 lbs :-)
    December goal-5 lbs
December weight lost so far: -5.2 lbs :-(
Nov/Dec/Jan weight loss so far (Goal-15 lbs): -10.8 lbs :-(
    Loss since 9/14/20-84.0 lbs :-)

December 1-176.2 lbs. Pre logged yesterday for today and Pre logged tomorrow. Stayed within my calories, carbs and water minimum.
December 2-176.2 lbs Pre logged for tomorrow.
    December 3-175 lbs

December 4-173.8 lbs! I'm No Longer Obese by BMI charts! I'm overweight now! Even as a RN I don't dwell on BMI. I have always weighed more than what people think. My boys are all the same way. Solid. My one son in the military when he was about 4-6% body fat was Obese on a BMI chart. So...
I'm wearing size 10 jeans but put on a pair of 8's today and easily zipped them up, but not wearing them because my flabby belly hangs out over bad. Did my Elliptical for 222 minutes for 16.3 miles today.

December 5-171.8 lbs. Did 224 minutes on my Elliptical for 14.25 miles. I was obviously moving at a slower pace since I didn't get to my usual 15-16 mile range. Thrilled by the swoosh of weight though today!

December 6-172.8 lbs-Stayed on track so hopefully just my usual uptick before a drop! Worked today, off tomorrow so will be on my elliptical again.

December 7-171.2 lbs Was on my Elliptical for 250 minutes/18 miles. Had a Nursing conference dinner at a restaurant and figured I would make sure I had more than enough for a calorie deficit. Pre logged today for tomorrow. Had 150 oz of water today.

December 8-171.2 lbs Thought I would have a drop today but maybe tomorrow.
December 9-171.2 lbs. :-( Didn't drop yet. 220 minutes on my Elliptical today for 14 miles.
December 10-172.2 lbs :-( Still no drop. Had stayed on point so it has to be my usual uptick before a drop.

December 11-172.2 lbs :-( Still no drop again! Getting a bit old. But tomorrow is my official weigh in day for a couple challenges. So.... hopefully tomorrow. Fingers crossed! Going to a work holiday party tonight. Its a Rock N Bowl. Just us no families. To hang out other than at work. Where things are hectic at times with patients. They are having pizza but they also planned some Keto friendly items, like unbreaded chicken for at least 1 other girl and me. I'm also taking some of my own snacks. Hard boiled eggs, cheese and some pecans, just in case. And I ate dinner at home.

December 12-170.8 lbs Well it's a drop. I was hoping for more than 0.4 lbs, like getting into the 160's as I have been staying on track. But I have met my December goal ALREADY!
Glad I took my own snacks to my work bowling party last night. We had some much fun, even though the majority of us stunk at the games. I hadn't bowled in probably 20 years at least! They had pizza, BREADED chicken nuggets and french fries. I didn't indulge in it at all. I ate a hardboiled egg, a colby jack string cheese and water.
Did 242 minutes on my Elliptical today for 17 miles and my fat percentage is coming down on my scale.

December 13-172.0 :-( Ugh!!!! Again hopefully the usual uptick before a drop because I have stayed on track.

December 14-169.4 lbs :-) Yessss! Finally into the 160's! But now I can't wait to get into the 150's. I got a later start today. I only did 140 minutes on my elliptical for 11 miles today.
    December 15-170.6 lbs
    December 16-170.6 lbs
December 17-170.6 lbs- Have been having some very long work days, so logging 15th, 16th and 17th today. Gosh I really dislike my usual uptick after a drop! :-(
December 18-170.6 lbs :-( Elliptical today 137 minutes for 9.1 miles.
December 19-169.6 lbs :-) Starting back down again. Elliptical today for 140 minutes for 9.15 miles.
    December 20-171.0 lbs. :-( Ugh!

🐑🐑 - sheepish wave from me. Hi all, well I fell of the December roller coaster during the loop the loop. Have renegotiated working hours to allow me time to exercise before work. Have also tried to shelve my worries about hubbys cancer treatment not working ( just have to wait til Feb) and told myself to ‘get back in there’.
So here I am, back again just before Christmas. Thankfully, though the weight did rocket up I got it back down again.

    🌲December Challenge🌲

    Highest weight: 298
    Current weight: 188.6
December weight lost so far: 4.2

    December 1 - 192.8
December 2 - 192 (Had a work dinner out last night to celebrate my 15 year work anniversary. Volunteering tonight so I have to work extra hard to find time for my exercise.)
December 3 - 192.8 (Off to Canmore with my husband for a night away at the B&B we got married at.)
    December 4 - 192.4
December 5 - 191.8 (Setting up the Christmas tree today. Yay!)
December 6 - 191.2 (Got through my maintenance weekend unscathed, in fact this weight is a new low for me.)
December 7 - 190 (PR'd my 45 minute Peloton ride time this morning. Feels good!)
December 8 - 190 (Hoping for a quieter day than yesterday.)
December 9 - 188.2 (Crazy happy to see the 180's. Every pound gone is a blessing! Sun is out again today.. looking forward to my walks.)
December 10 - 189.6 (Another sunshine filled day, a 60 minute Peloton ride before work, and fun plans tonight. Planned maintenance day today. Happy Friday all.)
December 11 - 189.2 (Virtual work Christmas party yesterday, we got to order food in and watch the private concert.)
December 12 - 189.6 (Watched two movies in the theatre but did a few types of exercise at night to keep myself active.)
December 13 - 191.8 (I definitely feel bloated today. Got a 60 minute PR on the Peloton yesterday and spent the rest of the day in the kitchen with my husband and mom doing some perogy and meat kebab food prep.)
December 14 - 191.6 (Very cold outside so I rode the Peloton at lunch instead. Even the dog doesn't want to go out!)
December 15 - 191.4 (Bitter cold still has hold of us! Thankful I have lots of in home workout options I enjoy. Still hoping to get out for a quick walk at lunch.)
December 16 - 190.6 (Work is getting quieter as more and more people start to take holidays. I'll be there until the 24th. It's still cold but I got out for my morning walk before work.)
December 17 - 189.2 (Smiling to be back in the 180's! Today was a workday that I thought would be quiet and ended up zany! I saw a lot of my Mom today too, got my Peloton ride in at lunch, and am happy the weekend is here! Enjoy it all.)
December 18 - 187.4 (Started my morning with an FTP test on the Peloton and was pleased with my improved fitness level. It's lovely to get my exercise out of the way early... not that I don't have more movement planned, but the hard stuff is done!)
December 19 - 187.4 (Had a nice day yesterday, managed to get in a lot of walking with some nicer weather here yesterday. Watched some Christmas movies. Lots to get done again today!)
December 20 - 188.2 (Fourth day in a row weighing in the 180's... had a streak like this last week before bouncing up again so hoping to make tomorrow five! Yesterday my husband and I made homemade cabbage rolls.. lots of steps and time on my feet.)
December 21 - 188.6 (Met my goal of a longer streak in the 180's than last week. Woo hoo! Had an unplanned dinner out yesterday but I kept it reasonable and did a bit more exercise at night to off-set it.)

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 61 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s

Starting Weight (from Nov 30th): 189.2
    Goal: 184.2 (Five lb Loss)

**************************************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME************************************

    12/01…...188.7…..(Trend Weight 189.5)
    12/02.…..188.2…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/03.…..189.8…..(Trend Weight 189.5)
    12/04.…..188.8…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/05.…..189.4…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/06.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/07.…..190.4…..(Trend Weight 189.5)
12/08.…..190.4…..(Trend Weight 189.6)….. I’m a hot mess. Now I’ve ran my glucose up and I am feeling like sheer crap on top of it all. I’m making changes today to get to a better place. More paperwork and business for my brother is due today. I don’t even feel like I can raise a pencil to paper! It’s the food choices.

12/09.…..190.4…..(Trend Weight 189.7)….. Same weight for 3 days in a row but my trend weight is creeping up 0.1 each and every day. I still haven’t made the changes I need to. I am not eating my meals proper, then I’m snacking too much at night turning snacks into meals. Cravings are all over the place. Back and forth from salt to sweet. Glucose numbers still up, even with new meds. I am not even giving them a chance to work. Self-sabotage is putting it mildly. I promise myself everyday that it will change today, and then I begin the tasks for my brother’s death and I either lean on food for comfort, or I get too busy to plan for success. I suppose the first part of success and change is recognition, so here I am standing at the confessional podium. Better planning is next and success (while currently elusive) is mine to take.

12/10.…..189.8…..(Trend Weight 189.7)….. I went up to the store yesterday and bought some sugar-free Russell Stovers individually wrapped candy. When the sweet cravings hit me in bed, I had 3 pcs. Tonight I will move it to 2 pieces. Cutting out the night time sugar binge seems to have helped the scale. I’m still too much of a mess since the death to really focus as I should, but any change will help at this point. Today I will choose a better breakfast also.

12/11.…..190.6…..(Trend Weight 189.8)….. Waited too long for dinner due to unexpected company over. Then I overate. Dinner at 11:30 pm.

12/12.…..192.0…..(Trend Weight 190.0)….. Out to dinner with a friend who helped move out some of my brother’s furniture as we empty the house. Pasta and a shared dessert in the same meal made for a horrible scale reading today.

12/13.…..192.2…..(Trend Weight 190.2)….. Small fluctuation with no TMI. Travel today for building supplies and product returns won’t help. I’ll not be home until later tonight after dark.
12/14.…..191.6…..(Trend Weight 190.4)….. The Covid booster hit me hard yesterday while I was out of town. Got home and stayed in bed for 12 full hours. I was lethargic and dizzy. Today it is all gone and was well-worth the tiredness. Nothing wrong with a little extra sleep anyway. Today is hair appointment, then all things Christmas related.

12/15……190.4…..(Trend Weight 190.4)….. Snacks not so good but meals were on point. Happy to see the scale down by 1.2. I have a lot of catching up to do.

12/16……189.2…..(Trend Weight 190.3)….. Chocolate cream pie but otherwise meals and quantities were good thus the drop in weight. Yesterday was a very busy day full of appointments and commitments. Fit in a little wrapping and a bit of cleaning. I hope to do more today around the house.

12/17.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 190.2)….. Well, I guess I should be happy that the trend weight is still trickling down. It’s giving me a chance I probably don’t deserve. I can do better.

12/18.…..191.2…..(Trend Weight 190.3)….. I’m disappointed and frustrated as yesterday was a better dietary day than I’ve had in awhile. I also moved a lot chasing a toddler grandson around most of the day. No TMI is likely the reason but it still is so disheartening! Shopping today over 100 miles away each way. Restaurants and car sitting won’t help but there will be walking in the stores.

12/19.…..191.0…..(Trend Weight 190.4)….. A small drop on the scale after the way I ate yesterday during my travels and city Christmas shopping? I’m sure that lunch and dinner from yesterday (over-abundance) will rear it’s ugly head on the scale in the coming days. It was nice to (mainly) finish my shopping and spend time in the city with my daughter!

12/20.…..191.2…..(Trend Weight 190.5)….. I attended a viewing and full memorial service yesterday for a friend I’ve known for 20 years. She was 55. She died suddenly after an asthma attack. She used her inhaler, dropped to the ground and never recovered. Such a shock! It was difficult seeing the extreme grief of her children and her husband. This will be a hard one to get over. I say goodbye and good riddance to 2021!

12/21.…..191.4…..(Trend Weight 190.5)….. I had a full-on binge yesterday of BBQ chips and donuts that I bought at the store when I went to get water. It was so bad that I skipped dinner just to off-set the calories. I feel like death warmed over today. I have none of the energy that good foods would have given me. This is just another example of my food killing me, like a poison, because of my relationship with it. I’ve got to do better! I know this was emotional eating. Too many death's this month. But it solves nothing!
