    Hi
    I am Dawn
I started on MFP October 28.18 at 191 pounds.
    I am 61 and 5'2"
    UGW 115-ish

12/01 - 136.7 - Slightly lower than November's end weight although I showed a small gain in November. Holiday season is upon us this month. My plan is to reduce as much as possible before the feasting begins.
12/02 - 137.6 - My usual jumping around in weight. Trying to get used to it after 3 years on MFP seeing this.
12/03 - 137.0 - I have always gone up and down, I am feeling like this is my current set point. Of course I liked it better when it was 130.6-133.6. I am not doing anything differently than when I was at that point. The 120s are looking illusive right now, but I realize that I felt the same thing when I just couldn't seem to get out of the 180s (or 170s, 160s, 150s, etc.
12/04 - 138.1 - Restaurant food, a few cocktails and salty snacks. Expected a jump and got one.
12/05 - 137.1 - Maybe the 136s tomorrow, going to try although dinner will be very late because of work.
    12/06 - 137.3 - A smaller fluctuation than I am used to lol.
12/07 - 136.9 - Hope to be lower tomorrow than my start weight for the month
12/08 - 136.0 - That is better. I was 135.8 last Christmas, so definitely am hoping to be at least a few pounds less than that going into this one. Honestly, in a year, I had hoped to be well into the 120s by now.
    12/09 - 136.4 - No comment lol
12/10 - 136.6 - Decided to change my scale battery after this, and then it wouldn't start again. Guess that buying a new scale will be on my agenda for after work today.
12/11 - 135.8 - New scale this morning, WW scale in the garbage. Haha I like this one better, down almost a pound : - )
12/12 - 135.4 - Ice skating at an arena in another town this aft, hoping to see another drop tomorrow morning.
12/13 - 136.6 - Trying to take it in stride this morning, I weighed very early.
    12/14 - 134.8 - That's more like it!
12/15 - 134.4 - Did HIIT with weights 2 days in a row on the weekend on top of my usual workouts, plus skating. I have a slow metabolism in general, but I feel like that extra work is just appearing on the scale 3 days later.
12/16 - 133.4 - Wow, didn't expect a drop today, doing the same things as when I had the spike up. Nevertheless, happy to see this
12/17 - 133.2 - Planning a bit of indulgence tonight, but this lower scale number will motivate me to hopefully not go crazy. Prosecco, cheese, and Beef Vindaloo is my plan. I will be sure to get some HIIT in again this weekend (I have more time to work out on days off).
12/18 - 134.8 - Expected, restaurant food. Holiday party for work not starting until 9pm tomorrow night - lasagna, spring rolls, a bunch of stuff. I will try to keep my calories very low today. Lol, I am usually getting ready for bed at 9pm.
12/19 - 135.6 - low calorie day yesterday, tonnes of activity including shovelling twice. Maybe the gain is from Friday still registering (I was not above calories that day either). Lasagna and Spring Roll dinner between 9pm and 10pm tonight. I will eat as little as possible without being rude to the people who made the food. I am taking salad and deviled eggs for my contribution. Afraid for the scale the next few days.
12/20 - 135.8 - Not bad for a late work party/dinner, although it could catch up with me. I burned a gazillion calories beforehand shoveling and ice skating.
    12/21 - 136.6 - Ouch.
12/22 - 136.0 - Really trying to get down to the weight I was last December 25th. Close. A whole year of working hard on losing weight and now I am willing to be happy with just not having gained.
12/23 - 135.8 - Last year's Christmas Day weight. I will be "good" today, but Christmas Eve is always too many delicious foods and drinks. Crazy how I am actually okay to see that number this morning.
12/24 - 137.8 - Well, I decided yesterday to throw caution to the wind. Yup 2 pound gain in 1 day. I will continue to track my food and exercise and participate in the forums, but this last 7 or 8 months have shown me being really "good" yet still gaining weight. If I am going to gain weight I am going to eat whatever I want and will pay the piper later. Stuffing, gravy, turkey, all of that good stuff I am just going to eat and drink for at least the next few days.
    12/25 -
    12/26 -
    12/27 -
    12/28 -
    12/29 -
    12/30 -
    12/31 -

    December start weight: 136.7

My name is Donna. I am 5’ 5” tall, 61 years old and from the Midwest USA. In 2016 I weighed 253 lbs. I am on a journey of health and to get back to the real me.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s

Starting Weight (from Nov 30th): 189.2
    Goal: 184.2 (Five lb Loss)

**************************************ONE DAY, ONE STEP, ONE DECISION AT A TIME************************************

    12/01…...188.7…..(Trend Weight 189.5)
    12/02.…..188.2…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/03.…..189.8…..(Trend Weight 189.5)
    12/04.…..188.8…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/05.…..189.4…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/06.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 189.4)
    12/07.…..190.4…..(Trend Weight 189.5)
12/08.…..190.4…..(Trend Weight 189.6)….. I’m a hot mess. Now I’ve ran my glucose up and I am feeling like sheer crap on top of it all. I’m making changes today to get to a better place. More paperwork and business for my brother is due today. I don’t even feel like I can raise a pencil to paper! It’s the food choices.

12/09.…..190.4…..(Trend Weight 189.7)….. Same weight for 3 days in a row but my trend weight is creeping up 0.1 each and every day. I still haven’t made the changes I need to. I am not eating my meals proper, then I’m snacking too much at night turning snacks into meals. Cravings are all over the place. Back and forth from salt to sweet. Glucose numbers still up, even with new meds. I am not even giving them a chance to work. Self-sabotage is putting it mildly. I promise myself everyday that it will change today, and then I begin the tasks for my brother’s death and I either lean on food for comfort, or I get too busy to plan for success. I suppose the first part of success and change is recognition, so here I am standing at the confessional podium. Better planning is next and success (while currently elusive) is mine to take.

12/10.…..189.8…..(Trend Weight 189.7)….. I went up to the store yesterday and bought some sugar-free Russell Stovers individually wrapped candy. When the sweet cravings hit me in bed, I had 3 pcs. Tonight I will move it to 2 pieces. Cutting out the night time sugar binge seems to have helped the scale. I’m still too much of a mess since the death to really focus as I should, but any change will help at this point. Today I will choose a better breakfast also.

12/11.…..190.6…..(Trend Weight 189.8)….. Waited too long for dinner due to unexpected company over. Then I overate. Dinner at 11:30 pm.

12/12.…..192.0…..(Trend Weight 190.0)….. Out to dinner with a friend who helped move out some of my brother’s furniture as we empty the house. Pasta and a shared dessert in the same meal made for a horrible scale reading today.

12/13.…..192.2…..(Trend Weight 190.2)….. Small fluctuation with no TMI. Travel today for building supplies and product returns won’t help. I’ll not be home until later tonight after dark.
12/14.…..191.6…..(Trend Weight 190.4)….. The Covid booster hit me hard yesterday while I was out of town. Got home and stayed in bed for 12 full hours. I was lethargic and dizzy. Today it is all gone and was well-worth the tiredness. Nothing wrong with a little extra sleep anyway. Today is hair appointment, then all things Christmas related.

12/15……190.4…..(Trend Weight 190.4)….. Snacks not so good but meals were on point. Happy to see the scale down by 1.2. I have a lot of catching up to do.

12/16……189.2…..(Trend Weight 190.3)….. Chocolate cream pie but otherwise meals and quantities were good thus the drop in weight. Yesterday was a very busy day full of appointments and commitments. Fit in a little wrapping and a bit of cleaning. I hope to do more today around the house.

12/17.…..189.6…..(Trend Weight 190.2)….. Well, I guess I should be happy that the trend weight is still trickling down. It’s giving me a chance I probably don’t deserve. I can do better.

12/18.…..191.2…..(Trend Weight 190.3)….. I’m disappointed and frustrated as yesterday was a better dietary day than I’ve had in awhile. I also moved a lot chasing a toddler grandson around most of the day. No TMI is likely the reason but it still is so disheartening! Shopping today over 100 miles away each way. Restaurants and car sitting won’t help but there will be walking in the stores.

12/19.…..191.0…..(Trend Weight 190.4)….. A small drop on the scale after the way I ate yesterday during my travels and city Christmas shopping? I’m sure that lunch and dinner from yesterday (over-abundance) will rear it’s ugly head on the scale in the coming days. It was nice to (mainly) finish my shopping and spend time in the city with my daughter!

12/20.…..191.2…..(Trend Weight 190.5)….. I attended a viewing and full memorial service yesterday for a friend I’ve known for 20 years. She was 55. She died suddenly after an asthma attack. She used her inhaler, dropped to the ground and never recovered. Such a shock! It was difficult seeing the extreme grief of her children and her husband. This will be a hard one to get over. I say goodbye and good riddance to 2021!

12/21.…..191.4…..(Trend Weight 190.5)….. I had a full-on binge yesterday of BBQ chips and donuts that I bought at the store when I went to get water. It was so bad that I skipped dinner just to off-set the calories. I feel like death warmed over today. I have none of the energy that good foods would have given me. This is just another example of my food killing me, like a poison because of my relationship with it. I’ve got to do better! I know this was emotional eating. Too many death's this month. But it solves nothing!

12/22.…..192.2…..(Trend Weight 190.7)…..Pros: Meals were on point. Small & Healthy. Cons: Lost track of time but no TMI again (at least x2). Started baking Christmas cookies. Too much taste testing.

12/23.…..191.4…..(Trend Weight 190.8)….. Lots of baking yesterday but I limited the taste testing a bit more. TMI helped my lower number on the scale (finally), but I am not liking that trend weight. It appears to have no faith in me when it goes up as my weight is going down on the scale. Oh Ye of Little Faith. I will show it what I’ve got!

12/24.…..192.4…..(Trend Weight 190.9)….. Not too many holiday snacks and dinner was light but it was very late. Definitely not enough water!

    12/25.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)…..
    12/26.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)……
    12/27.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)……
    12/28.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)……
    12/29.…..xxxxx…..(Trend Weight xxxxx)……

12/25.…..192.0…..(Trend Weight 190.1)….. Slightly better on the scale but weight is still trending up which is pretty scary. Big family dinner is tomorrow. Too much grazing yesterday and today so far. I must stick to meals or it will be a helluva binge tonight!

    Hello again, everyone!!

My name is Ana. Some months after my husband passed away I was at my highest weight (180 lbs). Using MFP I was able to get back to a healthy weight through diet and exercise and I kept it off for years. Unfortunately, the pandemic has messed me up in many, profound ways that led to a Dr's visit on June 16th where I learned that I was back up to 156.4 lb. I am back to the MFP community to make myself accountable for my own health.

    Highest Weight 2011: 180 lbs
    2021 Highest (June): 156.4 lbs
    November Start/End: 138.4/138.8 (+0.4)
Ultimate goal: Be fit and at a healthy weight.

December Goal: Up until last month my goal was to diet hard and exercise hard until I've reached and maintained 121 lb by the end of July of 2022. However, after deep reflection-and with some fear-, I've decided that for the rest of this year my goal will be SELF LOVE and COMPASSION. This month I will:

    1. Exercise 3/5x a week to tone up
    2. Keep track of calories to maintain
    3. Weigh in only at the end of Dec

    12/05: 138.6 Yay!! 🎉 Only + 0.2 from 11/31
My relationship with food is changing for the better, I think. I'm learning that if I am watchful most of the time, it does not matter if I don't exercise hard daily and that indulging-even if often-doesn't mean I blew it!

12/11: This week I have watched my calorie intake but I have also been flexible with it and it weirdly leads me to feel more satisfied regardless of whether I'm having more or less than my allowance of calories. I continued to struggle with fear that I'm gaining weight.

12/19: I accomplished my workout goal and watched my calorie intake. Even though I indulged a few times this week I felt OK doing it. I counted calories in my head yesterday and will input today to see if I was near the real amount. Today I'm having a cheat day where all yummies have wholesome ingredients. Currently enjoying Mexican arroz con leche made with the best quality ingredients I had in hand. I am also making sure I sneak in some veggies for Christmas dinner to make them taste like I'm cheating 😅

12/26 Definitely too many calories for the past couple of days. I don't even want to list what I've had so I don't mess with the heads of those of you who have continued to make better choices (or is it because I don't want to acknowledge my choices?...) Let it suffice to say that I had a mini gallbladder attack last night and I think it taught me a good lesson 😩
On the bright side, I've enjoyed the company and have exercised every day. Today-I'm not gonna lie-I'm planning on having leftover all day, but I will be very careful around the greasy meats and plan on portion control and mindful eating.

So proud of us still working on our goals at a time of the year when many choose to give up when falling off the wagon. Love to everyone! 💖

    -A

    Goals of the week:
    1. Portion control of yummy food
    2. Listen to my satiety cues
    3. Sleep at least 7 hrs every night
    4. Continue morning exercise 4-5x/week
    5. Continue walking 3-4x/week

    REMINDER TO SELF:
    Highest Weight, 2011: 180 lbs
    MFP Start: 175 lbs
2021 LOSS: 19.8 lbs/5mo. I had no idea. So proud!!

    June Start/End: 156.4 / 151.8 (- 4.6)
    July Start/End: 151.8 / 148.4 (- 3.4)
    August Start/End: 150.2 / 146.4 (- 3.8)
    September Start/End: 141.2 lbs (- 5.2)
    October Start/End: 141.2 / 138.4 (-2.8)
    November Start/End: 138.4 / 138.8 (+0.4)

12/26.…..194.4…..(Trend Weight 191.4)…… I gained 2 ½ lbs overnight eating what other people eat everyday. It’s just not fair! I didn’t even have lunch! I admit to the taste testing of the fudge and the snack of a couple of cookies but, come on! 2 ½ pounds. What in the world have I done to my metabolism? Christmas family feast tonight will only make matters worse!

    Hi

12/25 - 137.4 - Very active day yesterday mitigated any gain. Planning the same for today, x-country skiing, skating, shovelling, and then a huge dinner : - ) Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays friends.
12/26 - 139.8 - Expected, and no plan to slow down on delicious eating and drinking. I am tracking it all still, and even though I am burning more than 1,000 calories per day doing fun snowy activities, I am eating around 3,000 per day this holiday season....without regret.
    12/27 -
    12/28 -
    12/29 -
    12/30 -
    12/31 -

    December start weight: 136.7
December loss/gain so far: Gain 3.2

12/17 - DNW - daughter got in from college last night. Up way too late and overslept this morning. Missed weigh in, felt it was more important to look presentable for work

    Nikki, 52 years old, 5'6"
WL history: ups and downs for years
Exercise: treadmill walk 5x/week (actual exercise not allowed yet, hope to be released from restrictions at the end of December)
Goal: truly give up gluten and avoid it (not allergic, just pick up many pounds of fluid for days)
Goal: put myself on the things-to-do list, and the take-care-of list
Goal: lose it and maintain it
    Ultimate Goal weight: 145
6/7/2022 goal (next oncologist appointment): 177 (-20lbs from 12/7/21 appt)
    December goal: 195

12/1 - 196.0 was a sticker shock this morning. A lot of inflammation still from surgery last month so my 12/31 goal is slightly possible but not very confident. I'm not shifting it though. Onward and downward!
12/2 - 195.4 first day back to work (remote) was too long and I'm starting the day exhausted. Not sure why I worked 12 hours but so much to do and I'm running out of year. Didn't walk yesterday so my plan is a lunch treadmill walk today.
12/3 - weighed but forgot to post
12/4 - weighed but forgot to post, I did walk on the treadmill for 40m
12/5 - 195.6 This week was rough and a definite reminder that even though I'm not in pain and back to work, that I'm far from healed. Simply exhausted by the end of the day. Today I'm meal prepping breakfast and lunch (egg cups and lasagna soup), dinners for the week will be hunk o'meat + veg. If I was smart I'd go walk now as it's 12:40p and I'm waiting on the soup to simmer, and then work for the afternoon.
    Week 1 loss - 0.4 from 12/1
    12/6 - ?
    12/7 - 197.6 oncologist appointment
12/8 - 197.4 yesterday's oncologist appointment went well but was told that I need to take control and drop some pounds. My goal is 177 by 6/7/22, my next appointment. That's 20 pounds, 24 weeks. I have got to get my motivation and big girl panties firmly in place. I'm still limited to walking after my surgery but I haven't been doing very much of that. So a daily walk and better food choices is my future; not sure when I'll be released for more activity but maybe January.
12/9 - 195.8 so hard to figure out my weight, I really need to find a trend app so I can ignore the ups and downs and just watch the trend. OK, looking now for one.
12/10 - 196.0 (196.2 trend) - couldn't find Happy Scale so downloaded Libra Weight Tracker, but Libra counts in kgs and libres, and there isn't an option to switch it to pounds. So I know if I convert my 196 kilograms I'll be in completely shock and melt-down! LOL. Got my hair cut this morning, will have a lunch walk, and dinner out with my hubby (plan will be to order meat + veg).
    12/11 - 195.6 (196.18 trend)
12/12 - 195.2 (196.07 trend) was hoping for lower this morning but it's still down so I'll take it. Dinner is beef roast and broccoli, and a glass of wine.
    Week 2 loss - 0.4 from 12/5
12/13 - 195.8 (196.2 trend) I added some gluten-free pasta to dinner last night, and I spiked slightly today. I think there's a trend with gf items. Dinner is baked chicken leg quarters with cauliflower, the family can finish the pasta.
12/14 - 196.0 (196.18 trend) Off to the dentist bright and early this morning but had a rather disappointing weigh-in before I left. Dinner is meatloaf & broccoli, after a treadmill walk. Had a glass of wine too.
12/15 - 195.6 (196.12 trend) Treadmill walk today. Dinner is...well...not really sure. Probably a hunk o'meat + veg. That's a pretty common menu around here. Ordered 3 boxes of 40 lb chicken thighs from a friend with meat connections, it's being delivered today so I'll need to repack it and throw it in the deep freeze. We are definitely not vegetarians/vegan around here in rural Indiana.
12/16 - 197.0 ?? (trend 196.08) Consistently walking, good food, no idea why the jump. Today is my 4-week surgical check-up. Was warned at the 2 week appointment that my weight and activity restrictions won't be lifted at this visit so am trying to keep that in mind so I'm not disappointed. I really want to do more than walk though. Dinner is something using chicken thighs + broccoli.
12/17 - 195.0 (trend 196.05) Surgeon cleared me for 15lbs and can do more cardio (bike/elliptical). Even said I can start running again as long as I take it slow. Obviously I need to pay attention to my energy level, which is still pretty low. I know that resuming running will help with the scale, but I could also sabotage my healing, so at this point I think I'm going to stick with walking. Will reevaluate in January and perhaps pick up some then. So if I start talking about running, remind me that I'm not going to do it until at least 1/1! LOL No walk today though, not feeling awesome after my surgeon appointment.
12/18 - 196.6 (trend 196.13) Still not feeling awesome after surgeon appointment, not planning on walking today either. Had risotto last night w/ scallops, yummy meal at one of my favorite restaurants, but scale up this morning.
12/19 - weighed but forgot to post
    Week 3 loss - +1.2
    12/20 - 198.6 (trend 196.22)
12/21 - 197.4 (trend 196.22) still treadmill walking, added 2lb arm weights with walk last night with some arm curls etc. Leftovers for dinner.
12/22 - 197.6 (trend 196.36) LOL my trend is bouncing around just as much as the real scale weight. Treadmill walk + arm weights on the agenda again today. Rough work day/week/month/year...2022 will be better as I'm adding another person to my department. Finishing cleaning out the fridge tonight but not much left, will probably have eggs.
12/23 - 197.6 (trend 196.5) Consistently walking, consistently stressed. Jan & Feb are horribly work stressers, and that's coming too quick.
    12/24 - 195.4 (196.48 trend) son's 22nd birthday
    12/25 - Christmas Day
    12/26
    Week 4 loss -
12/27 - 196.6 (trend 196.6) ok, not awesome, but I'm pretty good with it. Found out I've been on my feet too much starting with the 24th, and my energy is suffering and the bleeding from surgery has restarted (sorry, TMI). So I'm definitely not healed enough to start running next week as planned. I haven't deliberately walked in several days because of my general activity, so I'm planning to restart walking today.

    Hi

12/27 - 137.0 - Surprised with this. I will be continuing to eat Turkey, Stuffing, gravy etc. for the next several days, but portioned it more yesterday. 4 days to get back to my start weight or beyond.
    12/28 -
    12/29 -
    12/30 -
    12/31 -

    December start weight: 136.7
December loss/gain so far: Gain 0.3

12/25.…..192.0…..(Trend Weight 190.1)….. Slightly better on the scale but weight is still trending up which is pretty scary. Big family dinner is tomorrow. Too much grazing yesterday and today so far. I must stick to meals or it will be a helluva binge tonight!

12/27.…..192.6…..(Trend Weight 191.5)…… Okay, so TMI took care of that huge overnight weight gain. Our family feast was last night for the Holiday so my scale is up 0.6 from two days ago which is probably fair. Now, to get through the leftovers without too much damage!

    December goal: < 120

03 - 122.3 Ugh ... not sure why this vacation ended up so high but it should be better in a few more days
    07 - 120.9 Back to pre-vacation range <3
    10 - 119.9 Another flirt with < 120 ... will it stick this time?
    13 - 119.6
18 - 118.6 Only the second time this year I've been under 119 ... finally making progress
    22 - 119.2
    27 - 122.2

Three days of maintenance level + exercise calories and I'm up 3lbs. There is no way I ate an extra 9000+ calories. Probably related to one restaurant meal, the all day charcuterie grazing on Christmas Eve and a prime ribeye roast plus fully loaded baked potato on Christmas. Sodium intake was probably high. We have a lot of charcuterie items in the fridge so small amounts will continue to be incorporated into meals. Hopefully I can be closer to 120 by the end of the month.

    Hi

12/27 - 137.0 - Surprised with this. I will be continuing to eat Turkey, Stuffing, gravy etc. for the next several days, but portioned it more yesterday. 4 days to get back to my start weight or beyond.
12/28 - 138.2 - Still eating Christmas dinners for 1 or 2 more days, and really enjoying it. Tracking.

Holiday leftovers for dinner.
12/28 - 195.8 (trend 196.6) holiday bloat is leaving, scale down a smidge, woke up hungry. My December goal is 195 so would really like to get rid of the .8 in the next few days. Today is work and walk; dinner is holiday leftovers; last night I had a leftover hotdog and green beans, and I might have the same today.
