Part of the reason MIA if you guys could please pray for our daughter. She has been progressively getting worse since Christmas, and now we are worried she is suicidal.. which she told me last nite she was. She cries a lot, which breaks this moms heart.
I’m so sorry she is struggling. Does she have any friends? It’s hard to have friends, I know, but sometimes you have someone who gets you.

Ongoing plans/ideas
1. Purchases: Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for GR purchase list.
2. E2: Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Write 1 reflection weekly; type one in Classroom by Weds. Copy-paste to discussion board for comments due Friday. This week feels so busy! I have appointments and still unpacking after moving, but I am taking time to log. Holding myself accountable and making healthy habits is my goal this month.

@clicketykeys - Pink Shirt Day here is an anti bullying movement. It started in Nova Scotia when a 9th grade boy was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. Two other guys started it by going out and buying 50 pink shirts.
It is nationally recognized here the 3rd Wednesday in February. Last year we decided to participate at work but we made that decision late and you couldn’t find a pink shirt. I bought the shirt and will put something on it like “Be Kind” or similar message.
@littleblackskirt - I’m sorry about your Mom. It’s hard for us to let them go no matter how long we have them.
I have to read page 32, but I’m very tired and going to head to bed. I’ll read tomorrow night.4 -

My hubby actually kept me accountable yesterday. I think he noticed me stressing out and encouraged me to go to the gym!! I definitely felt better after exercising but the day was not very successful. He also told me to give myself a break bc I did do alot of things that I rarely give myself credit for, Lol!! He is right but it was unusual to hear coming from him; but a nice thing to hear coming from him as well!!
Well, yesterday is done; time to move forward!!

Hour commitment - Cooked chicken overnight in pot and I'm going to taste it before I put it away. Then I won't have my coffee stuff until 8 am.

Last night's pizza was so-so even though friend and her hubby rave about it. P ordered me a 10" special. To me it was bland, I couldn't even tell it had sausage as one of the toppings. I wasn't tempted to eat too much. Tried P's veggie pizza which had more flavor. Then P got out her oatmeal protein balls ~ hard to not devour them all. At least P and I got to catch up with each other. Got home, watched some Olympics & chatted with hubby. After my unsatisfying supper, I snacked more than I should have. Oops. 2) Plan meals most days & prelog meals/snacks whenever possible on MFP
3) Post weekly weigh-in on JFT for accountability. Saturday a.m. is my "official" weigh-in day, and I track daily on a separate app (for the visual). My digital scale only shows half pound increments & I'm too cheap to buy a fancier scale.
4) Take measurements & log on MFP every month end ~- 1.31.22 forgot to measure & log (DDS 8:20, quick stops at bread store & grocery essentials, then to mom & dad's for her bday)
6) Participate in race or challenge events hopefully fewer virtual this year ~- started MapMyWalk app You Vs. the Year 1,022km challenge on Jan. 1
- Frenzy on the Fox (River Trail) 5K on 1.21.22 ~ untimed event, per MapMyWalk 53.47 & ave. pace 16:30, frigid this year with wind chill at zero
- registered for Seroogy's Valentine 5K on 2.5.22 ~ medico nixed race b/c inflammation in knee due to overuse & my arthritis = sad me but good for my knee
- will register for Bellin 10K on 6.11.22 ~ first time in person since 2019
- will register for Packers 5K when July details announced

Deep breaths y'all, we got this!
Work is starting to give me chest pains, but it'll be okay. Knowing it's just stress makes it less important. Anyway yesterday evening was pretty good, and that is what I choose to focus on.
Sierra popped in to pick up her passport/ SS Card to use as ID for her new job. I barely caught her before she headed out, but I did get a hug. Tim was sad he missed her.
Rode the Peleton last night after work and before Bible study, it was a dreadful ride, but it was better than no ride. Think I'll take tonight off as my legs are weary and I teach tomorrow evening. I'm not used to riding every day anymore. I'll get back there.
Took V to PT at 8:00 this morning, just to find out they moved their office. Luckily it was close. Tried to call into the 8:30 meeting, but my car wasn't cooperating, but I made it to work in time for the 9:00 meeting, so I'll take the win there.

Okay so I said yesterday that I would post goals today.
As you can see, I haven't.
However I have logged all my food.
Not made the best choices today but it's been logged.
It's a start. And im happy with it 🙂
Ash is starting a gym. With his membership he can bring a friend 4 times a month. Which is fine for me, once a week and do my other exercises at home.
I realllllllllly want to go swimming though and this gym doesnt have a pool.
So I'm going to get a leisure card at the local pool (costs £5 -I think- but gives you reduced costs when visiting) and just pay as I go.
Just feel like I need a really good swim. I find it so refreshing.
I've also got my 10k steps (school runs) and I'll have my minimum of 4 waters by bedtime so an alright day as long as I don't go crazy with snacks tonight5 -
Over here in the UK. Or atleast in my school (and I know it was in the previous school too)
We had odd socks day to celebrate being different and anti bullying.
Funnily enough my kids are always in odd socks and on this particular day (I didn't get the memo it was odd socks day)
I sent my kids in matching socks, feeling dead proud of myself I actually found matching pairs. Can't say the kids were impressed but teacher had spare socks to make them odd again 😂😂
Last week they had pyjama and BYOBook for National Readng Week and they also celebrated the Chinese New Year.
A family that goes to the school who are Chinese brought fortune cookies for the whole school!

@mytime6630 - I'm sorry your daughter is having such a rough time, and I will keep her (and you) in my prayers. It's so hard to see our children suffer, no matter the age. It's harder when we worry that we can't keep them safe. Having a chronically ill child can be traumatic, taking a toll on our health and wellbeing. Mental illness is particularly difficult.
I hope you have someone you can reach out to. My younger son struggled for many years with acute depression, anxiety, and suicidality, and was hospitalized several times in his twenties. The third time, my husband and I were fortunate to finally find a family education and support program run by the hospital. The therapists running the program were great, and it helped us a lot to connect with other families. I also wound up going back to my own therapist for a while.

When I joined in 2015, I was mainly just using the database to look up nutrition info. I didn't log or check out the forums. I wasn't really committed, and I eventually stopped logging in. When I finally decided to get serious about losing weight in 2019, I found my original account was still open.
Finding the forums really made the difference, as I learned so much. I spent about a year doing the "Just Give Me 10 Days" challenges and met some JFTers there. This group feels like the right fit for me. I'm really grateful for all of you6 -

Ongoing plans/ideas
1. Purchases: Look for an "ugly Christmas sweater" and a long-haired doll at thrift stores. Practice French braiding. Go to used bookstore and look for GR purchase list.
2. E2: Find a way to incorporate changing words from one part of speech to another. Students need to know how to review multiple sources and synthesize information in order to draw a conclusion. Need practice with the difference between transitions and overlapping (at end of paragraph - "another issue is Y" vs "there are other issues besides X"). Quit using "in conclusion" and "I believe" and other writing-about-my-writing phrases. Confusion between direct/indirect objects and prepositional phrases. Use the UDHR and the Declaration of Independence to study paraphrasing; use that to front-load Machiavelli and how to deal with challenging texts. Confusion between everyday / every day and similar constructions.
3. E1: Need practice with quoting & paraphrasing sources, identifying claims that would need support, use of last names for reference, and capitalization practice (common/proper nouns, titles). Difficulty using possessive nouns in their own writing. Honors: practice subject/object pronouns (my friend and I / my friend and me). Poetry: Revise "Songs are Poetry" handouts.
4. Curriculum Development: Writing mini-unit. Review scholarly research on 5PE. (I think I can have this as an intro to the research unit so that they also get exposure to how quotes are integrated and cited.) Parallel structure; use of emotional language, specific detail. Use "Write About a Pebble" lesson from Atwell. How long should each unit take? Do research on characteristics: curiosity, persistence, resilience, creativity, responsibility, optimism, courage, integrity, authenticity, leadership, self-awareness, humility, compassion - others? Include grammarly check on essays! Review assessments. What is the purpose for each unit? What should the controlling ideas be in a study of world literature? Review world lit options. Write 1 reflection weekly; type one in Classroom by Weds. Copy-paste to discussion board for comments due Friday. Homework: Online journal Mon due Tue; Reflection Tue due Wed; C&P journal in class Wed; Comments Thu due Fri. @cschmitz110515 - I’m so fortunate to live in Canada for the healthcare. I always think of how fortunate I am when I have to see a doctor or go for a test.
@Janele0627 - great job on the loss so far. I don’t track on some days and trips either.
I am always mindful though.
@MLHC1 - I started with JFT in March 2018. I logged faithfully from that first post until late June 2019 and successfully lost 25lbs. I stopped posting and barely logged for a few days over my daughters wedding and because of my hip injury at the wedding let myself lapse even further. By the end of July 2019 I was up about 10lbs, by March 2021 I was back up to my highest weight of 202. As of last week I was back down to 185 which is the weight I was in late July 2019. I’ve not been able to do any exercises since 2019 until December so now I’m feeling more in control again. It’s been slow but it’s progress.
I truly believe getting in here and being accountable, not only to myself but to all of my friends I am more mindful.
@mytime6630 - prayers for your daughter and you and your DH. I can’t imagine the worry you must feel.

I need to get into the habit of drinking more water. My only drink is black coffee. Part of the day I drink decaf and the rest of the day I drink regular caffeinated coffee! 🙂3
