I needed support was at 288 am now at 179 today. How did I do this? 5% Challenge

When I weighed 288 lbs and TRIED to lose on my own, I got to 256 and it STALLED HORRIBLY at that point. Sigh. I knew needed help. I did a search and found a site that has since been discontinued (Sparkpeople) but on that site I joined a team known as the 5% Challenge!! And now? I am at 179 this AM!! WOOHOO I can walk again, and OH SO MUCH More!! Keep in mind I was such a MESS!! I used a power chair 97% of the time, my pain was SKY HIGH. Now I can walk!! And my pain level without the added 100 PLUS Lbs is so much more manageable!!

All because I had help!! So much support, and you CAN TOO!! It doesn't matter what point you are at (if you've hit goal we also welcome you!) what DOES matter is that you want to lose weight, well hmmmm instead join us on being healthier. One small step at a time. It didn't come on fast for me, it was many years of poor eating choices, pain, combined with no movement. Many of us can relate.

    Hi Diane. I, too, am a refugee from the original SparkPeople site. Over there I went by BITEMENCO, and I had taken part in many of the 5% challenges over the years. Having taken some time off to deal with family stuff, I was less than thrilled to find that the SP site had been closed down and was now SparkAmerica. How was I going to find the people I had known over there? Some googling led me to this site, but the two people I've sent messages to haven't replied (probably because I hadn't filled in my profile info....which has since been done). I don't know if you get notified when people reply on threads you've started.
