Binge Eating

Hello all. I know that there are many links to this type of subject with detailed advice on how to overcome it. But I was wondering if anyone here is or was like I am...eating the bare minimum during the day and then eating all the good stuff and bad stuff later on. What did you do overcome this habit??

Are you doing Intermittent Fasting on purpose (the tags says IF) or is it just that you're trying not to eat because you think it's necessary for weight loss?
If I don't eat during the day of course I'm going to eat everything in sight once I start eating. I personally do a lot better with three meals. I eat in an eight hour window most days so technically I could call it IF 16:8.1 -

I have three meals and multiple snacks. I IF 12:12
I too eat everything in sight if I let myself get too hungry by not eating sufficient satiating foods earlier in the day.3 -
I don't know why I put Intermittent Fasting, I guess because I wanted it to be a part of the post, don't know. But I've tried IF in the past and it seemed to have work for me, but can't really get it work for me this time around. I've been trying to do the Ayurvedic method. Thanks for your input.1

Aaaaaaand devil's advocate here to say meal timing doesn't matter and when you say. "binge" what exactly are you talking about? Are you eating less during the day and then uncontrollably eating 4,000 (random number) calories over your calorie goal/maintenance at night?
Do you mean you eat 20 cookies you hadn't planned on instead of the chicken and brocolli you *had* planned on?
Are you still within your calorie goal?
I never officially did IF but I did used to eat lightly during the day because I preferred eating more at night and halfway called it a way to binge but really not in my head.
But, yeah, eat more/satiating foods during the day. 😀2 -

X2. If I eat too low during the day, I'm a binge waiting to happen at night.2 -

So...are you taking the supplements and trying to eat the way the "method" tells you to? If so, I'm out. It's an MLM/woo method...If you're just trying the ancient Ayurvedic way of eating, that's something different and I know nothing about it. Regardless you'll need sufficient protein and fat to feel satisfied.
My suggestion is set your calorie Goal here in the Goals section. If you want to try 16:8 I think that's a really good way to start with fasting/intermittent fasting.
Have three meals -preferably on a schedule within your chosen eight hour window - with the calories and macros split as evenly as you can between those three meals. After you eat the third meal, the Kitchen Is Closed.
Alternately I found that when I was losing weight, two larger meals worked really well instead of three because trying to work three meals into my very small calorie goal meant I was always irritated and hungry and thinking about food. I never felt satisfied. I delayed my first meal for about five hours after I woke and ate the second meal about three hours before bed. That worked really well for me because I could eat a good amount of food at each feeding and I wasn't starving all day in between.1 -
What does 'binge' mean?
I am on IF and I can't put enough food in my stomach to constitute a calorie blowout; I'm full by 800 calories or so and I'm eating high fat.
Fill your house with good, delicious food. Become a gourmet, not a gormand. strawberries. Blueberries. Gelato. salami. a nice brie. Avocado. Delicious stuff you love but consider so much of a treat you don't buy it - buy it. Have it there. Buy a cooked chicken and when you have the munchies, eat that.
Plan your feast. Look forward to it, prepare it. put it on a tray and just indulge.
and just work on each day as it comes to you.
Oh - when I am starving during the day I have a tin of salmon, or a few frankfurters, or a tin of sardines with salt. That is heaps, because it's fatty, to make my tummy happy.2
