Its just not easy to lose on my own

How many times have I started to lose weight only GAIN IT BACK? This has been a life time struggle. Oh I know I am not alone. If it were easy I'd of been at goals over 8 years ago.
Being older it's surely not easy, but I also did not find it easy when I was in my 40's or even 50's. I first gained weight in my mid 30's, but I did it so wrong in losing, I allowed one package of Instant oatmeal a DAY!! Of course I lost weight and FAST!! Everyone's dream to lose it fast!! But, I gained even more as of course that was not maintainable.
Finally in 2010 I started to learn how to lose and have it stay off. I found a site that's been closed down (Sparkpeople) where I went from 288 down to 174, but again didn't do it correctly. There's SO MUCH more than just controlling food intake, I needed to develop healthy skills.
Though the years I've had so many health issues, family die, family born. Emotions so crazy. At this point I am finally at 174 again, and have been for 3 years approximately (Within the up and down of 163 to 182). Now I want to really lose, and get into the 150's by the year end.
But, I've learned I can NOT do this alone. Perhaps others can relate?
So I've joined a team that came from Sparkpeople over here to Myfitnesspal. IT's the 5% Challenge which is now open for new and returning members to join. If your story is anything like mine, you'll also benefit from learning that this journey is so much more than just "being careful on what you eat" it involves our real lives, the ups, and the downs. The good, bad and ugly emotions we all have.
