Rule of thumb, we all go wrong when it comes to intake of water 8 cups a day, let's not lie here. At the end of the day not everyone in the world can understand what it is to keep on top of this, so here is a bit of a recap in a screenshot as to what I have found.
Tea and coffee can count as daily intake, it is just all about how you make it. Black tea or coffee can count, and for more information please refer to the screenshot below:
Also, if you are still unsure of things, then by all means check out these images and other things that maybe of help:
Drinks that counts as one of the 8 cups a day:
If you are already a friend of mine on here and got an interest in this topic, then by all means, drop me a direct message.

What do you mean by this? 8 cups a day is not necessary for a lot of people. It's highly individualized. I need about 80 oz of fluid a day to keep my kidneys flushed as I am prone to infection, but a lot of people don't need that much.5 -
There's some useful info in your post, things some people don't know (like coffee and tea counting as hydrating), so thank you for that, sincerely!
This, though:Beccalouise09 wrote: »Rule of thumb, we all go wrong when it comes to intake of water 8 cups a day, let's not lie here.
I don't know why you'd say that? I can't be the only one who doesn't have a particular problem staying reasonably hydrated, and for me that picture includes drinking that 8 cups of plain water every day, and often more (not lying! 😆).
Different people need different amounts of fluids, depending on exercise level, job conditions, health status, and even things like whether they sweat more heavily than average or other genetic factors. Urine color is a useful indicator (generally should be pale yellow, not dark), and for many people thirst is a reasonable guide. Soups and the fluid in fruits/veggies (or other foods) are hydrating, too.
I'm curious, are you involved in the coffee industry in some way? That's a very enthusiastic list of coffee benefits. I'm not saying it's incorrect - not at all . . . but it includes some fairly minor correlations or disputed conclusions. Speaking as a survivor of advanced-stage cancer, claims that something reduces cancer always make me raise an eyebrow, and there seems not to be overwhelming evidence for it in this case.6 -
Hi! Thanks for sharing!
Do not agree that coffee can reduce heart disease. Following just my story.
I'm trying to keep an eye on my sleeping habit. If I sleep not well, I feel terrible. I love coffee but cannot drink it regularly because it affects my sleep.
I recently was searching about coffee. I was looking for info to understand why my body reacts to coffee in this way. I found that It is a stimulant that binds to adenosine, a biological sleep component, preventing it from accomplishing its function of making you tired. This causes your body clock to be delayed, which is why you may find yourself wide awake hours after you should have gone to bed. So, it's not as healthy as you said. However, I also found an interesting article. It was How Many Calories Are In Coffee? Here is the link.
It is said that all the calories in coffee are from added products such as sugar, milk, and so on.3 -

What you see are screenshots and images I found on Google, I'm just someone who would like to try to support people is all. Im not from any industry. I'm sorry if anything on the post is offensive in any way.1 -

Thank you for sharing your story dear. It can be hell of not being able to have a regular sleeping pattern which is suitable to your lifestyle, from my own experience I find weather changes rapid can have effect on one's sleep too. Even what you eat can cause a change in sleep pattern, depending on timing. I find a pillow must spray can help sleep better, and meditation tunes can work too.
Maybe try herbal tea? Or warm milk for sleeping better? Just a suggestion.

What you see on here is just guidelines for those who may not know if they should have coffee or those who need some insight of what can make up a general 8 cups a day intake. I understand it won't be suitable for everyone, which is why this has been done with simplicity and understanding.
So I am sorry if this offended in any way.0 -

Your suggestions weren't offensive. THIS was.7 -
You're not offending anyone, but I get my hydrating in--no problem. Coffee and tea (for people that like them) have no magical properties. There is just too much woo floating around and people tend to pass it around unintentionally. It's nice of you to Google for us. I appreciate it.3

So here's what often happens, BeccaLouise...
Randomly posting any piece of "advice" such as:Rule of thumb, we all go wrong when it comes to intake of water 8 cups a day, let's not lie here.
...is going to elicit all kinds of questioning responses. Telling an entire forum community that "We all go wrong - let's not lie here," is not helpful, it's more of a shaming statement. That rubs a lot of people the wrong way.
Also:At the end of the day not everyone in the world can understand what it is to keep on top of this
The info-graphics are probably more suitable in a thread where someone asks for specific advice, from what I've seen.6 -
Sorry I'm autistic and got anxiety disorder, please understand and be patient with me3

All I was wanting was to help people. I didn't mean to come off as bad in any way.3

I saw that when I read your profile--I know you just wanted to help. Don't worry about it and go on. You're doing great. It should be a great compliment to you to know that just reading your thread no one would know that you are autistic. I'm sure you've had to work hard for that. You are a success. Best wishes.2 -

You're fine, truly. I understand that you wanted to help, and there was helpful information in your post.
There were some things in some of the Google-d images that people here felt could mislead, and they (we) commented on those, out of that same kind of desire to help other. They/we also don't mean to come off as bad in any way, I think.
Some people's posting style is more diplomatic or blunt than others, some people's writing is better or not as good about conveying their true meaning and spirit - I think those are things to consider when reading replies.
A polite back and forth dialog, in my view, can help us collectively arrive at the most accurate or helpful overall advice, including different variations that may work for different people (in both advice and communication style).
Please keep posting and participating: You're doing fine. I would not have known that you're autistic . . . and I honestly don't think it ought to matter.
Sincere best wishes for success with your goals, and for happy participation in the MFP Community!3
