Hello, My name is Chris. My wife and I started our weight loss journey back in September of 2021. so far, I have lost more than 50 pounds (currently 320 Lbs) and she has lost 40 pounds. We accomplished this by eating at a major calorie deficit and intermittent fasting. I, for example, Would eat 1000-1200 calories as a 6'0, 368 pound man and worked out very little during those few months. Her and I are at a point where we are actually working out a lot more and eating maybe 1500 calories a day, but have not been able to make the same progress we used to before. Our meals before used to be veggies and a meat for both lunch and dinner. not many carbs at all with one cheat day a week, still eating more or less within our calorie amount on the cheat day. now that I am a lot more active. I Think I need to start eating more, but I'm not sure how many calories I should be eating in order to start losing more wight again. any advice would help. thanks.

Hey Chris,
Another Kris here. Don’t stress what you are going through is very normal. It is time to pull out the measuring tape. Lol! Because you have added exercise you are building muscle and so fat loss looks like it has slowed or stopped it hasn’t and you will see that through clothes sizes changing as well as inches lost. So to have positive reinforcement use the measuring tape! 1/2 inch here an inch there keeps the motivation going and you can see the fat coming off and the muscle developing. If you are comfortable at your 1500 calories don’t change it that is your new lifestyle weight. . As a man you can slowly over time increase to 2000 calories a day but realize the calorie intake you choose is your new lifestyle calorie set. To determine the right calorie for your goal take whatever your goal weight is and multiply it by 10 that is your approximate daily calorie intake for you to achieve that goal and more importantly maintain your goal. I have done this before be prepared to have the scale show a large drop all at once. Once your body and muscles adjust to the new levels. I am back here because after maintaining my weight loss for years I went through a few years of extreme life changes and stopped paying attention to myself. The next thing I know here I am starting over again! Ugh! Good luck it is great you and your wife have each other to encourage and support each other Good luck!!!0
