Lanette Brava for inflating those tires. Thanks also for your and Barbie’s reminder to be personally responsible. I still mask in public buildings but am fighting the temptation to return, un-masked, to indoor T’ai Chi.
Lighter, lovelies!

Barbara - I am glad to report those tires held air overnight.
I was happy to hear your knee doesn't have anything major going on and PT and stretching should help the situation.
C and masks:I am anxious to find out from my walking partner exactly where she thinks she was exposed. She had the 2 shots last year and a booster a few months ago.
She rode down to Cannon Beach in a car with some other church women, then mingled with others at the retreat center. She texted me that she was exposed 2X, not sure what that meant. If any attendees at the Center were symptomatic for the C or anything, shame on them for being there! That's one reason why I don't go to these things anymore, plus when I was working I had to attend conferences and long meetings in stuffy rooms. Got my fill back then .
I go by the "4 D" guidelines provided by the FLCCC for mask wearing/exposure risk in general. These pertain to being around strangers of course, not family or household members you live with. And these guidelines pertain to any respiratory bug.
1. Dimensions of the space/room: Closed in car vs. large shopping mall/grocery store/outdoors.
2. Duration: Five minutes vs. an hour or two, for example.
3. Density: Is the space teeming with a lot of people or are there very few? I love that our doctor's office spaces appointments so there's rarely anyone else in the lobby.
4. Draft: Is everyone cooped up breathing the same air or is there good air flow in the space?
So I have no problem with outdoor activities. And since I hate to wear a mask because of my glasses steaming up, I tend to avoid any of the risky spaces outlined above. If I have to be in a hospital/medical facility, I wear one though, and a good quality one - not one of my homemade cloth ones- and stick my glasses in my pocket. Mrs. Magoo, lol. That's just me. People need to take whatever precautions they feel necessary to stay safe these days.
Yesterday I called the Heat Pump place, ours needs to be replaced. It still works fine, but it's 15 years old and probably not very energy efficient anymore. The sales guy is coming out in a couple weeks. I've heard rumors that installation of new units is from 3 to 6 months out. Probably because of the new construction around here, but maybe supply chain problems too. So we'll see.
Barbie - I am jealous the rain let up in your area and you were able to spread some bark yesterday. It's not letting up much down here. I did manage to get an early morning mile walk in yesterday before it got heavy. Today.... hopefully.
That's it so far. Have a great day, ladies!

Tracey ~ Michaela is doing a great job painting her ceramic figures. My husband sets a limit on how much to spend on son and family and it has to be the same amount for each. Sometimes it is difficult because DnL will not come up with something, grandson wants very expensive things, granddaughter has very little wants, and son has no problem at all telling us what he wants.
Machka ~ Very good photo of you, your mom, and grandmother.
Lisa ~ Happy for you getting your OCD room in order. I am still working on cleaning the outside of my kitchen cabinets. Slowly but surely.

I'm having a lazy day today. DH is at cricket, even though it's our 19th meeting anniversary (I told him to go)
We exchanged presents this morning and nice cards. We went out on Monday, and had drinks out on Tuesday, and tonight I have elegant canapés to serve with champagne. :drinker:
I am a very lucky woman.
My exercises are done and I have another 30 minutes for this afternoon scheduled. I'm listening to podcasts about sex at the moment - they are very good, and I've just downloaded a recommended book. We still have a pretty good sex life, but there is no reason not to improve it!
Then I rang my friend L, who is finally getting round to little house jobs that need doing before she goes in for her operation on her hip. People will be coming to look after her, so that was a great spur. Plus car jobs. I love it when those things get sorted! Very lightening for the mind.
I talked to her a bit about my worries about my next book. Always good to share concerns. I may write an intro to my intro.
Love to all, Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -
The reason most people fail instead of succeed is that they trade what they want the MOST for what they want at the MOMENT.
I have used this regarding eating for a long time but recently realized that it applies to other life choices. My decision to stay out of stores, not do line dancing, and avoid all social occasions is setting aside what I want in the moment for what I want the most which is to keep my immune compromised husband alive and healthy.

Thank you,
Sadly, my grandmother passed away about 3 years ago. But I would like to see my parents again one day.
Terri, everyone says they see a resemblance between me and my mother and grandmother, but I'm told I take after my paternal grandmother (and father) more. I only knew her until I was about 13 - when she passed away. But I've kind of surprised my father sometimes with mannerisms and ways of talking that are so much like her.

Good morning ladies! Rainy day here too.
Lisa so glad the Humera is working for you. You went through such a bad spell, first being so sick for so long, and then fighting to get the medicine. Yay for good results so far!
I talked to my mom a little about washing her hair. Not sure whether she will do it or not, but at least I opened the subject. She mostly sits on the couch with a light blanket around her head so her hair doesn't show. She is always cold even though the house is warm.
Weigh-in day today. I feel like I was pretty good this week. We shall see. My knee is just a little sore from skipping the brace yesterday and doing my dumbbells. It's probably good to be working it just to the beginning of soreness.
Well I need to go out in the rain to get a mother's day card and a marinade for a flank steak. I don't know how I'm going to cook it, the broiler is not knee friendly nor ADHD friendly.
Have a great day ladies! A cozy day for those of us with rain.

Oh Allie... he'll be okay, I'm sure. So scary. Please let us know. Sending love and prayers.
OMGosh, lunch and the show were both amazing! I'm a HUGE Buffett fan so I sorta quietly sang along to all of the songs. There were a couple that they encouraged singing OUT LOUD! That was fun! The day was somewhat warm, but dreary, so it was nice to be inside. Today is lovely and tomorrow it's supposed to hit 70!!! WOOHOO! Going to be wonderful for Anne's last home game!

Annie-Have you tried using dry shampoo with your mom? Perhaps you can apply it for her. I know as my grandfather got into his upper 80s and into his 90s, washing his hair was quite a chore. It was hard for him to lift his arms up that far. It's not going to replace washing it, but it may help from time to time. I use it about 3 times a week instead of washing. My stylist said we overwash our hair and I have to say, I'm now a fan of not having to wash my hair all the time.
Tina2 -
Allie: Oh-oh!!! It was NOT your fault! You just had an accident is all. I'm praying for the little guy to be alright. They are pretty resilient.
Machka: I do hope that you get your wish to see your parents. In truth, we are bound to display some traits from both family lines throughout our lives.
Lisa: Love the reno. I also tried various layouts before I settled on my current one. Hopefully the humera will continue to improve your health.
Lanette: I so agree with the 4 Ds idea. We're still shopping early morning when the supermarket is quite empty, but we still mask. Also take my glasses off, but I can see close up without them, so not a biggie for me.
It's been raining on and off all day. I had a good session at Parchment Craft. Home now watching our Local Assembly election results!

Re: hair... If it was humanly possible to do so, I have washed my hair every day of my life, barring hospitals and camping, etc. For the last year, though, I've been moving toward five times a week, then three, and I'm down to one. I lost almost a third of my hair during the malnutrition phases of the last couple years, and what I had left was getting very brittle. Washing it daily was making it worse, and it wasn't like I was getting sweaty or dirty.
Now that I'm starting to get a little more active, I wash it on Sunday and then either skip it, rinse it only, or condition it only the rest of the week. There are tons of wispy hairs coming back in, so I have hope that I'll get my thick head of hair back.
Credit card stuff:Some of you may remember that I had my wallet stolen a couple years back, and it was a mess trying to get everything canceled and replaced. It means I keep my antenna up about the credit that we have, and keep very close tabs on it.
An email from one of our credit cards threatened us with closing it if we didn't use it. We opened it four years ago because we got 0% interest the first year, and we needed appliances for the new house. Paid it off long before the year was over, and just never used it again. So I called them and closed it before they closed it.
Closed another one because Goldman Sachs took it over from Capital One. Took a really good look at what GS was offering with it, driving down as far as I could below the marketing hype of "5X Bonus points on ... " and "10,000 bonus points for spending $100 on ..." and NO where that I could find told you what the bonus points were good for in terms of dollars. Don't like shell games, so I talked to Corey last night and closed that one too.
We'll take a hit on our credit rating, but not too worried about it. Unfortunately, they will both sell our information to everyone and we'll be flooded with junk mail, but that will pass too.
Talked to my daughter, and it's wonderful to hear her happy again. It was a long winter for her. She has another man in her life, which is good for her bruised and battered ego, and I got a chance to talk to him today on speaker. He sounds an awful lot like her daddy, which doesn't surprise me at all. She worships her daddy, with good reason, and compares every man to him.
She's starting to get things sorted out with her soon-to-be-ex-husband, he's being less belligerent and slightly more cooperative. Hope that continues. For all of y'all with children in the U.S., Happy Mother's Day this Sunday! My daughter told me she bought me a card today, which is fairly typical. My son will text me on Sunday if his fiancee' reminds him. My husband and I will avoid being anywhere near a restaurant on Sunday, because it's insanity on Mother's Day. And I'm not his mother.
Later, y'all,
Love,

Allie-When my youngest sister was not even 1, I accidently dropped her on her head. She's in her 40s now. Other than making some terrible decisions (in my opinion), she's fine and a successful business person. I know it doesn't take the worry away, but kids are amazingly resilient.
Karen-The flower could be a Peruvian daffodil. Thanks.

Allie hugs for you and Miles and Tracey.
My interesting guy from okcupid is being dreadfully quiet. I should have heard from him last night. It's looking like he is going to fade away. Too bad.
Tina Dry shampoo is a great idea, thanks! I will talk to her about it. And about lifting her arms.

Kedgeree, Rita, is a smoked haddock and rice dish. It originated in India, in the days of the British Raj, and it is lightly spiced. I use a Delia Smith recipe, and add frozen peas to the mix. DH tripped going down concrete steps between our parking lot and driveway. He has painful bruises, especially his ribs. For now he is resting. I hope he can get medical advice from his doctor. I tripped in that area myself a couple of years ago. I want to see a grab rail there.5

When I was keeping my grandson who was sitting up but not walking, he fell back on the floor and hit his head. I thought he had a big knot on the back of his head so we rushed him to the pediatrician. We were told it was not a knot, just the shape of his head....LOL

Debbie, I would gladly send rain south to you! It's like a cold March day, the rain keeps coming down. I need to do some tasks in the greenhouse but can't do them wearing gloves. The tomatoes are surviving but crying for warmer weather and sunshine.
The lettuce, however, is loving the chilly weather. Like Terri, we've been able to pick and eat some.

I wash my hair once a week, most weeks anyways- Saturday nights so it looks it's best for church, now that I am going back in church instead of just online. Since I have started doing this my hair is not as dry/frizzy/split ends. It is very long, well past my waist when wet and super curly ringlets.
First few days it is natural then I brush it and put it in a braid.
A few months after I got covid and dad died(both at the same time) I noticed I was loosing my hair really bad. Did 13 blood tests- all came back ok- doctor says it is stress or could be from the virus.
By the time I contacted her and got started on treatment, I had lost at least 1/3 of my hair.
She told me to use Rogain( I use the generic from Amazon) It took two boxes(six months worth) to really notice for me but with shorter hair, I am sure results can be seen sooner, like at three months.\ Thankfully it looks fuller than it is. No one noticed the hair loss except when it was wet. It also looked like I was loosing even more when I would clean my brush out because of it being so long.
