Welcome back from vacation! I hope you had a great time.

Thanks @TinaLeigh67 .. it was an absolutely fantastic trip but I clearly put my body through a lot.

Had a blast and am ready to get back to routine. Bet you're counting down the days till you're off soft diet.

    Nine more days!!!

    Awesome drop after your travels.

    Hello again, everyone!!

My name is Ana. Some months after my late husband passed away in 2011 I was at my highest weight (180 lbs). Using MFP I was able to get back to a healthy weight through diet and exercise and I kept it off for years. Unfortunately, the pandemic has messed me up in varied and profound ways that led to a Dr's visit on 06.16.21 where I learned that I was back up to 156.4 lb. I am back to the MFP community to make myself accountable for my own health.
My plan for this month is: Hang in there! I will exercise at least 5x a week and will try my best not to snack and to walk to work 4x a week. Good luck to me and to all of you! 💖

    Highest Weight 2011: 180 Lbs
    2021 Highest (June): 156.4 Lbs
    June Progress: 133.4 /
Ultimate goal: Be fit and at a healthy weight.

06/04 ??? Day 3 of my ProLon fast. I have decided not to weigh myself until days after I'm finished since I think it'll be more accurate/representative of my real weight.
I am excited to report that I am not hungry all the time as I feared. I'm following the program to the letter and my body seems to be responding well. I am not expecting to get "amazing" results considering that I am close to my--self-imposed--ideal weight but I am hoping that at least this will serve as a cleanse.

06/10: 131.2 (-2.2) Not bad for 2 weeks considering the most I usually lose is 0.4 LB per week. Next Friday will be the last day of my year of health! I'm very excited and even though I still am 9 lbs away from where I thought I'd be a year ago, I am at the size that I wanted to be and more importantly, I feel good about myself.
As anticipated, I feel like I could have done better.
    Something like 9 Lbs better.
I keep telling myself "who couldn't have done better? We all stray sometimes"... The battle to appease my mind continues, but I feel like I am in a strong place to deal with it.
I'm hoping that the weight loss from ProLon will still show this coming week and I want to boost it, so the plan is to be extra good with exercise and avoid cheating my meal planning. I am hoping that doing this will help me stop being negative to myself.

06/17: 132 (+0.8) I thought it would be worse considering my intestines are getting full again after the cleanse 😅
I am amazed that I stuck to my dietary and fitness goal for a year! I'm also very scared of going back to eating normal amounts of food again. According to my research, I can have about 400 more calories than what I've had in the past year. That is 34% more! Sounds very yummy and scary to me 🙆‍♀️

06/27: 133 (+1) I am back to anxiety town 😐 I've exercised almost daily and most days I have calories left! I set my calories to 1500 even though I'm allowed 150 more (my cushion for when I end up having a treat).
I'm struggling with eating bigger quantities. It's like my body is rejecting it now that I can have it and still I'm 1Lb up! So, of course, now I worry (apparently my favorite thing to do...) that my body is not going to like the change and I'll be stuck in 1200 kcal forever or I'll go back to gain weight. I also worry that, by dieting for a year I have put my body on starvation mode and now that I can have more food it's going to start hoarding fat!!
Intellectually I know I'm exaggerating, but emotionally, I'm just scared of seeing the scale go up now that I'm eating my recommeneded calory intake.
Any suggestions to overcome the post-diet fears?

    Sending love to everyone
    💖

    I am Dawn
    5'2", 61 years old.
    Started MFP October 28.18
According to the charts I should be somewhere between 110-118 to have the best health.
I topped out at 207, joined MFP at 191.

I gained 2.7 pounds last month. Going to try to get rid of that.

    Wednesday 6/1: 137.7
    Thursday 6/2: 137.8
6/3: 137.5 - Huge calorie burn yesterday due to gardening, almost more than I ate. Much digging, lifting, pulling, bending, stretching, squats, lunges etc. Rain is expected which will be perfect for the 34 pepper plants that are (finally) in the ground. Due to my eye injury I was way behind schedule, so feeling really good that I toughed it out for many hours before and after work yesterday. It would have been nice if the scale had jumped as much as it does when it goes the other direction.
6/4: 138.5 - I had 4 wings and a pita pizza last night. Within my calorie range, but I did expect to see a gain and did by stepping out of my usual foods.
Sunday 6/5: 139.9 - Indulgent weekend. Going to be "good" today. I was actually in the "Red" yesterday, which is uncommon. I had company so didn't get any sort of calorie burn, also unusual for me.
6/6: 140.6 - Yikes, still climbing? I will get on top of that. I was very "good" yesterday.
    6/7: 139.7 - Better.
6/8: 137.7 - Back to my start weight for the month, but still 2.7 above the month prior. Lunch out tomorrow with people from out of town, but lots of hiking too (booked the day off) so hopefully that will mitigate it.
Thursday 6/9: 137.6 - Good start to the day.
6/10: 139.0 - Well, that is what happens when lunch is out. I ate only half of it, but restaurant food is restaurant food.
6/11: 139.4 - Burned lots of calories yesterday before and after work. Day off today, so will be getting in lots of activity and eating healthy foods.
6/12: 139.4 - Lots of calorie burn (yardwork) but also cocktails each day. That won't happen today.
6/13: 139.5 - Really expected a loss today, but I will be patient that it could take a few days to register. Worked my tail off in the yard yesterday, exceeding my food calories with calorie burn. My body could be in a bit of shock and holding on to fat lol. Soooo glad that I kept at it, raining like crazy, 90% for the next couple of days, so I couldn't have gotten the grass cut and trimmed. The newest plantings will get a good soaking : - )
Tuesday 6/14: 138.4 - Good to see a drop, I really feel like there will be more. No outdoor activity to burn calories during this rain week for me, so glad that I persevered and got so much done over the weekend.
6/15: 136.9 - My huge calorie burns from the weekend finally showing up on the scale?
6/16: 139.5 - No reason to gain almost 3 pounds over night. Consumption was on track, lots of activity, feeling leaner than that. Sheesh. Either yesterday or today were a fluke.
6/17: 138.5 - We have a big festival in our town for 4 days, the first one since 2019. Saturday is when all of the fun events happen that I want to attend, plus I will be off of work : - )
6/18: 138.5 - I seldom get the same weight 2 days in a row. Kind of resigned that I am sort of stuck around this number. Many festival outings today, and although I will log all of my consumption, I still plan on loosening it up a bit.
Sunday 6/19: 138.1 - I will be having dinner out tomorrow, so I am going to keep it light today.
6/20: 138.8 - low on calories, high on calorie burn. Should have seen a drop, but nope. Dinner out tonight will not help, going to keep it very light until then and try to get in some extra activity throughout the day.
    6/21: 139.7 - Dinner out, so I expected a gain. Mexican + Margaritas = delicious but fattening.
6/22: 139.0 - I realize that it will take me awhile to recover from eating restaurant food. I am working on it.
6/23: 138.8 - Hoping to at least get back to my start weight of this current month, even though that one was an almost 3 pound gain from the previous month. My pants are tight and my shorts from last summer are nowhere near being able to be worn because of the zippers. Being short...makes 5 -10 pounds mean almost a whole size.
Friday 6/24: 137.8 - Slowly working off those 2 restaurant meals in this month.
6/25: 137.3 - 5 days left of the month! The weather has finally turned here and we are finally into summer 2 months late. I plan to work in my yard all weekend on my days off.
6/26: DNW - Up too early drinking water and coffee
6/27: 140.1 - ?? I burned more calories than I ate yesterday digging in my yard in the sun. Maybe my body is rebelling : - )

My name is Tina, Height: 5'6" Age: 55

    May results: -6.4
    May end weight: 129.2
    June goal: maintenance of 125-130

My goal for this month is to maintain my UGW. I know that as I am able to add more foods to my diet following surgery, the weight will want to creep up. I am hoping my surgeon clears me for some light exercise and I can start working on that this month. Hoping to increase my walking as well. Need to force myself to move!

    6/01 - 128.4 (131.8 trend)
6/02 - 128.6 (131.3 trend) surgeon said I was doing excellent and continue to follow soft, mushy diet for 6 weeks. I'm one week in
    6/03 - 128.8 (131.0 trend)
    6/04 - DNW
    6/05 - 130.8 (131.0 trend)
    6/06 - 129.2 (130.7 trend)
6/07 - 130.6 (130.7 trend) - indulged a bit yesterday and it showed. You only turn 55 once, right? Now that swelling and pain is gone, I'm eating more. Even soft, mushy food can add up. Need to start weighing and logging again.
6/08 - 129.4 (130.5 trend) - going to be a lot of bouncing up and down
    6/09 - 129.4 (130.4 trend)
    6/10 - 128.6 (130.1 trend)
    6/11 - DNW
    6/12 - DNW
    6/13 - 128.0 (129.4 trend) love the weekends I don't end up with a gain. Hasn't happened often
6/14 - 128.0 (129.3 trend) 3 more weeks of soft diet. So looking forward to chewing again. What I wouldn't give for a piece of chicken!
    6/15 - 128.4 (129.1 trend)
    6/16 - DNW
    6/17 - 128.0 (128.8 trend)
    6/18 - DNW
    6/19 - DNW
    6/20 - 128.9 (128.2 trend) No TMI, need TMI!
6/21 - 130.6 (129.4 trend) Really need my system to clean out
    6/22 - 129.6 (129.4 trend)
    6/23 - DNW
6/24 - 129.2 (129.3 trend) a little less than 2 weeks left of soft diet. Hoping I don't go crazy and put the weight back on.
    6/25 - DNW
    6/26 - DNW
    6/27 - 129.2 (129.3 trend)
    6/28 - 128.8 (129.2 trend)

    June goal: 195
    UGW: 145

6/1 - 196.4 it's hot, muggy, and rainy. Planning to see the Top Gun movie tonight so probably won't manage any movement today. Dinner is TBD as well.
    6/2 - 194.6
6/3 - 194.2 had the dogs out for a lovely walk yesterday
    6/4
    6/5
    6/6 - 197.4 I really need a plan for the weekends
    6/7
    6/8 - 196.0
    6/9
    6/10 VACATION
6/27 - 197.8 I'm back from vacation and can't quite wrap my head around this morning's number...I'm really quite happy with it. I walked a lot and made good food choices, with the occasional treat. My cousin brought her scale along so I did check in with that a couple times but I had no idea how it matched up with mine. Taking my mom to lunch today to catch up with her, not sure what I'm making for dinner so I have no idea what's left around here! I did create the July thread and will post it.
6/28 - 197.7 my menfolk took me out for dinner last night but I made good choices. But restaurant food is not good for my scale. Tonight's dinner is a hunk o'meat, steamed cauliflower, and a salad. I've got 3 days to get off the water pudge and see where I really am for the month. Took the dogs for a half mile walk already this morning, will do another walk with them at lunch, and planning on the Y tonight with my husband...time to get back to strength workouts!

My numbers have been kind of crazy, so busy and active, maybe not enough food?
I really do try to keep it around 1200 calories.

Here are my charts, so why I am gaining?

    apauzp8fokgt.png

    yscgf1ae7wx0.png

I was 130.6 at this time last year, very excited about finally getting into the 120s.

Maybe I need to get back in the habit of eating brown rice every day to scrub out my digestive system? I don't know.
I have a many hours of yardwork left to do, and honestly the upkeep of my garden will require this throughout the summer.

    Height 5'4" Age:52
    Ultimate Goal Weight 127-134 lbs.

    March Start Weight: 194.8 lbs.
    April Start Weight: 189.4 lbs.
    May Start Weight: 184.1 lbs.
    June Start Weight: 181.8 lbs.

June Goals: Running 3 x per week, Body Strength Workouts, Mindful Way of Eating, Daily Accountability

6/1: 181.8 Yesterday was a Walk + full body strength workout
    6/2: 181.4 Yesterday was a running day + lower body/core barre workout
6/3: 181.2 Yesterday was an active recovery day with a long walk + a core/mobility session. Was a bit of a struggle mentally with food yesterday but I ignored those thoughts and stayed on plan.
6/4: 181.2 Yesterday was an upper body strength workout with weights, on track with my goals
6/5: 181.0 Yesterday was a running day + legs/glutes strength workout. Looking in the mirror, seeing some subtle but positive changes!
6/6: 180.8 Yesterday was a scheduled rest day and it really was - didn't do a thing.
6/7: 180.7 Yesterday was a full body cardio with weights workout. Red lentil spaghetti with zoodles for dinner, one of my new favorites!
6/8: 180.6 Yesterday was a running day + full body super sets workout. Need to grocery shop and meal plan today.
6/9: 180.4 Yesterday was a walk + lower body barre workout. Felt so full after dinner last night (gluten free gnocchi with veg) but didn't overeat & was well within my calorie deficit = the power of nutrient dense food!
6/10: 180.1 Yesterday was a running day + mobility & core workout. It stormed all morning but luckily stopped in time for me to get a run in.
6/11: 180.1 Yesterday was an upper body workout with weights, other than that it was a very sedentary day with extremely low step count.
6/12: 180.1 Yesterday was a running day + Legs/Glutes workout, lots of steps but a very relaxing day too :)
6/13: 179.9 Yesterday was a scheduled rest day, a nice Sunday with family and a delicious dinner!
6/14: 179.8 Yesterday was a lower body/abs workout. Did some meal prep and made some quinoa protein breakfast bars, so good!
6/15: 179.5 Yesterday was a running day + upper body workout with weights. My calories have been a little low the last 2 days, just not feeling hungry. Going to try to be more on the higher end of my calorie range today.
6/16: 179.4 Yesterday was a walk + barre workout. Successfully went out to dinner and stayed on track!
6/17: 179.1 Yesterday was a running day + mobility/core workout. My daughter's school year ended yesterday, so now get an extra 2 hours sleep in the morning before work, very happy about that!
6/18:179.1 Yesterday was a full body workout with weights, on track with my goals but need to make sure I am getting all the calories I have planned for each day - been a little low caloric wise all week and feeling it today.
6/19: 178.6 Yesterday was a running day + a cardio core workout. Pretty perfect running conditions in the mid 60's. This is my lowest weight since 2020, pretty happy about that!!!
6/20: 178.6 Yesterday was a scheduled rest day + lovely family day :)
6/21: 180.6 Took the day off yesterday from exercise and dieting, so this is no surprise. It's good for the mental health every so often to have an indulgence day.
6/22: 179.6 Yesterday was a running day + got right back to logging and being in a calorie deficit.
6/23: 178.2 Yesterday was a full body workout focused on glutes, hamstrings, side body + some weights. Successfully navigated a splurge day on Monday and am back to losing weight today.
6/24: 177.5 Yesterday was a running day, felt a little sluggish, but at least I got it done!
6/25: 177.2 Yesterday was a full body workout with weights & the completion of the 30-day workout program I was doing. Feeling much stronger, will start a new one on Monday.
6/26: 176.5 Yesterday was a running day and it finally felt like summer, so hot! I'm going to need to be up earlier to run to beat the heat.
6/27: 176.2 Yesterday was a scheduled rest day
6/28: 175.9 Yesterday was a posterior chain muscle group workout

@dawnbgethealthy I know everyone will not agree with me, but sometimes I personally think we have to shock or trick the body with some extra calories so it doesn't go into "starvation mode" . That is why, when I travel, I don't mind the restaurant calories (as long as I don't go overboard). It does take a couple of days to recoup or lose the pound(s) I gain, but I think it keeps my metabolism going which is the main goal. Only 1200 calories for such a long period of time has got to take it's toll at some point on that metabolism. IMHO.

    06/24.…..203.2…..(Trend Weight 204.2)…..

06/25.…..203.8…..(Trend Weight 204.2)…… Up a bit from some unexpected travel to buy a industrial paint sprayer. Stopped for Mexican food and ate about half. I didn’t bother to take the rest home. Hopefully this is it and more won’t show up later, as it sometimes does. My resolve is still good and I hope to keep this train rollin’, rollin’ rollin’ .

06/26.…..202.8…..(Trend Weight 204.0)……A nice drop overnight. Obviously, no restaurants or travel yesterday or it would have been a different picture more than likely. I carefully planned and logged my meals and snacks. I didn’t get in enough movement, it was just too hot. But I appreciate the progress. Tomorrow is the first of the travels for the heart ultrasound and to have the heart monitor placed to wear home. I will be traveling, more than likely, after that even further for some special supplies I need from Menards that I can’t get at home depot, so it will be even further away than usual from my rural town. I’ll either go tomorrow or Wed when I go back to the hospital for the stress test, nuclear stress test and to take off the monitor. I haven’t decided yet. I do know that I want to wrap up the supply shopping and the medical on the same day to avoid an extra day of travel. Travel = pounds for me.

06/27.…..198.4…..(Trend Weight 203.5)…… Onederland, Onederland!!!! But a 4 ½ lb loss overnight? Hard to believe. I took batteries in and out several times. Then tried new ones. Even moved the scale to my non-typical spot. Yep, 198.2. The only explanation is that I did take my waterpill yesterday since I was home. (I won’t be able to take it the next 3 days as I’ll be away from home). But THAT much water retention due to heart no pumping properly? Wow! So today is the ultrasound on the heart and I get hooked up to a heart monitor I will wear home for a couple of days. Then traveling even further south for some building supplies at a special store. Going with my son. When we hit the big city I promised him golden corral and we may try to fit in the Elvis movie. Scale will be up tomorrow from GC and lots of sitting but I plan on making it a nice day for the two of us. Watch what you put on the plate Donna!

06/28.…..198.8…..(Trend Weight 203.0)…… I had yesterday’s weight off by 0.2 so I have corrected it. I’ll take what I see today on the scale gladly after so much travel sitting, hospital sitting, theater sitting and Golden Corral. Ultrasound was completed and I have a monitor on now (that added a few ounces to my scale too?). Feeling really motivated right now seeing the 100’s instead of 200’s, even after travel. I have my oldest grandson’s birthday deal with me later today. I am taking him to the salon for a facial and acne treatment (pimple extraction). I want to see how his skin reacts. Would be such a nice thing before school pix etc. I am back to travel/hospital tomorrow for the nuclear stress test and monitor removal. I am working hard to stay focused and not let the situations limit my progress. I’m not gonna lie, I’m very stressed out about the stress test. I hope I don’t have a heart attack in the middle of it. When I say I can’t breathe, I’m being serious here. But I do want some answers. By the way, I loved, loved, loved the Elvis movie. Even my 25 year old son really liked it and he’s not exactly an Elvis fan. It was as much about Col. Tom Parker as it was Elvis. A very interesting story and all the actors were wonderful including Tom Hanks. Rotten Tomatoes gave it high scores and it tied for number one at the box office this past opening weekend with Top Gun Maverick. Glad I went.

@dawnbgethealthy I don't know about you, but I know if I work outside a lot in the sun and heat, I tend to retain water and have a gain. Maybe not enough hydration? So hard to tell. The body is a crazy, frustrating thing! Your calories do look great. @deepwoodslady could be on to something.

    @dawnbgethealthy

Your exercise is very reasonable. You work a lot of hours on your feet burning a lot. You garden which is important for the body and soul. And you dance whenever you can which is spirit lifting but also is true planned exercise for you that really burns.

I see, however, that you are in the green and under your calorie goal every single day without fail, for months at a time. And yet, you don't hit the numbers you want. You simply can't go down any further in calories. That would not be safe or INHO, productive. Time to shake it up a bit. I'm not saying to go crazy and eat 3000 calories or anything. I would just sprinkle extra in every 7 to 10 days. You were losing when you ate those ribs once per month (even though there was a small instant gain for a minute). It can be healthy extra calories. It can be things you crave so you won't cave in later when it's not time for the extra calories. etc. etc. I would just let my body know on a semi-regular basis that it's okay to let it go and not store anything. I don't see another option for you except to work on the metabolsim because you are steady as a rock in your resolve and your diet and exercise.
