Hello Barbie and crew...I am returning to MyFitPal. I have lost 13 pounds in three years (a bumpy road but overall stable) and have rejoined MFP in earnest. Can't beat its ease of logging food, tracking nutrition intake and connecting to exercise apps. This time I am looking for community support. I have learned some great lessons from other programs. Noom is great for the psychological insights into changing habits. Fastix had some terrific information about intermittent fasting (for me, that means not eating at night) and the effect of fasting on staving off diseases (very motivating!). Fastix makes the case that it is an act of kindness to allow our bodies time to digest and metabolize food...and to rest. I am very much into being kind to myself. I am bringing these great ideas with me as I enter into our community.
I like the idea of setting monthly goals. Hope this continues through summer and all of 2022. Do we start new discussion threads each month? Count me in! If there is something I need to do to join a group, could someone let me know? New to MFP social aspect.

Katla - sending good thoughts for your DH. Hope your children arrive safely to give you both support. Take care.
So glad it is cooler today. I have worked in the guest room making the bed, etc. We will have company for the weekend. Also did a little work outside. Still need to get gazebo chairs washed off.
Everyone take care, Sue in WA3 -
Katla thinking of you and your DH! Hope all goes smoothly.
I'm mad at my scale so I ate a bunch of chocolate. I might skip dumbbells tonight too. Not very rational.
I decided to bring up my mom's memory appointment to give her a chance to refuse to go. I didn't mention the word memory. But she seems okay with it. So that's a relief for me. It's a week from today so I better do the paperwork.

Katla - sending big hugs to you and DH. Wishing safe flight for the kids so glad they are coming and glad too your niece isn't too far away.

Katla Prayers and hugs! Safe travels for your family and healing hands for the doctors caring for your husband. Take care of yourself!
Annie One bad decision does not mean the end. YOU have this! Hugs!
Nothing exciting this direction. Sunday was migraine bad. Spent the day in nightgown, on couch, with blinds pulled. Once the storm front came through, the head quit pounding (about 9:30 at night). The only good thing was that I caught up with registrations and warranties for work (only took 12 hours). DH had a doctor's appointment this morning. His Glucose and A1C were a little more elevated than the past 3 years. Still only 5.8, but worth addressing with dietary changes. He has somehow lost 3 pounds in a month. I need to figure out how he has done it!
Better get some work done.

Bummed. An appointment in a month to see if the shoulder will heal on its own and to see if the pain is less as time goes on5

Lisa and Pip-Congrats and great pictures! I like seeing happy couples.
Katie-your father’s service sounds like a perfect remembrance. I always find the flag folding and taps to be so emotional.
Tracey-cute stools-creative!
Heather-it is not uncommon for a few drinks to be involved with arguments. Glad you made up.
Allie-good news on blood work!
Katla-prayers for your DH and you. Diabetes can be so brutal. Glad your children are heading your way.
Quiet day today. Worked from home. Went for walk before logging in since I didn't have to get dressed for office. Cooler temperatures today so was down right chilly when I was walking. Heating up tomorrow.
Got hair cut today. Finally tired of A-line bob cut. My hair is thin but thick and in the heat it is horrible. Got a bunch of layers in it and short so I can wash and let it air dry if I want. Think I will like it once I get used to it. If not-it always grows-and very quickly. I have very healthy hair.
Off to get some things ready for when son and DIL come over Friday to take some things to their new house. The plan is for me to drive over following them Friday so I can see the house. They are, understandably, very proud. I am proud of them also!
Take care all,
Ginny in Ohio

Heather - hope you and Johnny have smooth sailing from her on out, both in the water and personally. Travelling brings out the best and worst I think.
Katla - prayers for you and your family.
Allie - what a relief on the doctor front.
Pip - I hate when they do that, I swear that is the reason my hip took so long to heal.
Ginny - I have been thinking of getting a bob. I had it trimmed again on the weekend though, I’m just not sure of what I want. How exciting for your son and DIL.
Michele - Cute plaque. Is it glaze or acrylic?
My former supervisor sent me a job posting last night that she thought I would be perfect for. I applied for it tonight. It is a 20 minute drive away. I’m not sure I like that idea, but it’s more money.
My granddaughter’s last day of kindergarten was today. She asked her mom to give her bangs to celebrate.

Hi all! I've got Internet today so I can post on my trip. We are taking different excursions, but the weather isn't great for DH'S hike.
This is last nights outfit and DH'S 'Surf and Turf'.
Thankfully, our domestic only lasted one evening and it did clear the air. We are both reformed characters.Low alcohol day for me today.
So sorry, Katla, to hear about your DH. Sending loving thoughts
Love Heather UK xxxxxx
Last night, at the Elton John tribute, I had the piano named after me!!!!7
