August goal: maintenance of 128-132
My goal this month is to maintain weight as well as increase activity. I will be moving at some point this month so I will be doing a lot of packing. Have been waiting for a definite start date on a new job, but they are still going through the process of doing background checks and such. I currently work for the State and have been accepted for another position with the State. Unfortunately, they won't just open my personnel file and retrieve the information they already have, they are doing it all over again from scratch. It has been over a month since they began. It's very frustrating. Anyway, somehow I am hoping to find time to increase workouts/walks while packing and preparing for a wedding.

I have been on MFP since October 2018.
I am close to 10 pounds heavier than this time last year.
Hoping to drop weight this month, but have extended company coming, an old friend who is a chef and cooks amazing meals. So much for my grilled chicken with veggies or salad. I will do my best.
I gained 0.6 last month
Monday August 01 - 139.2 - Using last month's EW. A holiday in my Province today, but not a food holiday. I am working.
Tuesday August 02 - 138.6 - Hoping to continue to see drops before my company arrives on Saturday so that I have a "cushion". Feeling pretty lean this morning.
Wednesday August 03 - 139.0 - I had planned a cleanse for later in August, but Wild Rose has been discontinued. It is a bunch of herbs and a food plan. I do know the food columns of what to have 80% of each day etc. The herbs are organ specific. I will be looking into what else is available. Does anyone have a good kit that they use?
Thursday August 04 - 138.8 - Going to keep it very light for the next couple of days before my company arrives. He is a chef and I expect to be eating more (and richer) food than usual starting Saturday for 8 days
Friday August 05 - 139.9 - Quite surprised at this jump up, I had a very good day exercise and food wise. Going to try to take it in stride, actually feeling lean this morning.
Saturday August 06 - 138.1 - That was the last of being "good" for the next 8 days. I am going to try not to be rude and sit at the kitchen table at my laptop reading and writing into these forums while I have company (in a couple more hours from now). I will be logging and weighing, just not sure if I will make it on here or not.

Tuesday August 09 - 138.8 - Surprised (but glad) that it wasn't more, especially since I was up and weighing at 5am. Getting stuff done before my company wakes up : - )

Saturday August 13 - 139.8 - Wow, usually my weight fluctuates like crazy, but staying at the same number is cool, especially after eating so very well all week with my Chef friend here whipping up all sorts of rich foods accompanied by wine.
Sunday August 14 - 141.3 - Well, it caught up with me. Lots of good leftovers over the next few days, I will try to keep the quantities low. - I see that I had my dates mixed up. Fixed them
Monday August 15 - 140.1 - I still have some really good food left, but will keep the portions smaller, and no wine or cocktails.
Tuesday August 16 - 139.4 - Still working on leftovers, tonight should be the last. I am going to have pesto that was made out of things in my garden with some Konjac pasta (10 calories for the whole pack), a bit of chicken mixed in and a salad. It would be nice to see that 136.2 from Aug 07th again soon.
Wednesday August 17 - 139.1 - It seems to be coming down. I am working at it.
Thursday August 18 - 137.7 - That was very nice to see this morning.
Friday August 19 - 137.8 - Felt quite lean this morning. Working a split shift today and expect to eat more calories than I have been this entire week.
Saturday August 20 - 138.8 - Up a pound. I worked late, so ate late. Burned a whole lot of calories running around work.
Sunday August 21 - 138.7 - Had hoped for a bigger drop than that, but it is what it is: Very easy and quick to put it on, but very hard and slow to take it off
Monday August 22 - 139.1 - MFP again saying that I should be 119 by eating like I do. Just 20 pounds off of the 2 year predictions. Quite surprised to see a gain today, maybe I overheated and body is holding on to water. Ate 1043 only in calories yesterday.
Tuesday August 23 - 138.1 - Hmm. Okay. Still trying to learn to deal with the fluctuations, I do think that I am taking it better than I used to, but again, I would rather be fluctuating around in the 120s. Keeping at it, maybe some day.
Wednesday August 24 - 138.8 - It seems that if I am anywhere over 1100 calories for the day that I see a gain. That is not sustainable long term.
Thursday August 25 - 138.3 - Jumping around in weight as usual. Eating has changed up since my tomatoes are becoming ripe, tomato sandwich every day now : - )
Friday August 26 - 139.3 - A whole pound up from yesterday? Geez. Working a split today, so dinner will be late. I will get extra workouts in during my break at home in the afternoon.
Saturday August 27 - 139.6 - I felt quite lean all day yesterday and burned a boat load of calories. Late night eating and choices outside of my norm...I did expect a gain this morning and got it. I have so much yardwork to do including cutting the grass, but it rained overnight and is due to rain a few more times today with possible thunderstorms, so I suppose I will have to bite the bullet and get some things done inside of my house. I will find any excuse to do things outside instead, no matter the season.
Sunday August 27 - 140.6 - Ow. A few days left, hoping to at least get back to my start weight for the month.

I lowered the carbs because my glucose continues to run too high. It may take a few tweaks to get it in better balance. I am going to focus on healthier fats in my diet when I need to use them. I have to really watch fats because of my heart problems right now. I know which ones are good for me and they need to be my first choice.

August 01: 169.4 Stuck at this exact number for like 5 days, I'm patient, eventually it will drop and reflect the work I am putting in. Going to resume running today for the 1st time in almost 1 month (wasn't able to run most of July due to Covid/Covid recovery), will be interesting to see where my running fitness is.
August 02: 169.2 Successful day yesterday! Went on a short run, felt good, but will need to slowly build back up my mileage to where it was + did a full body endurance workout with weights.
August 03: 168.9 Yesterday was a Yogalates workout + a walk. Dinner was a bit heavier (calories still within my range), so pleased to see a loss today on the scale!

August 13: DNW Been out of town and got back late last night and slept in this morning so will weigh in tomorrow. Expect to be a up with a few vacation pounds but will work to be back down in the next week.
August 14: 171.0 Not too bad (I'd hoped to stay under a 3 lb. gain, so sucess!) My goal is to be back in the 169s before next Sunday. Went for a long walk yesterday, today is technically a rest day but will be very active getting things done around the house/yard.
August 15: 170.1 Vacation weight is coming off! Delicious meal at home last night with herbs, tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini from our garden mixed with some red lentil pasta.
August 16: 169.4 Yay, back to my round start weight! Yesterday went for a walk and did a Pilates workout. My running and more strenuous workouts are on hold for the moment due to some inflammation in my knee, it's always something:) Need to meal plan and grocery shop today, husband is making salsa as we are in tomato overload from the garden.
August 17: 169.0 Didn't get my lunch time walk + weights workout in on my lunch hour yesterday because was tied up on work calls and then was off to run errands for 3 hours after work. At least I got some steps in doing that! Grabbed Chick Fil A on the way home but just got nuggets and made my own chicken Ceasar salad when I got home for dinner.
August 18: 168.4 Pretty happy with the number on the scale this morning! The temps are much cooler this week, so felt like cooking yesterday, took advantage of some of the tomatoes & herbs from the garden and made a pomodoro sauce for a baked gnocchi dish. I ate the serving that fit into my calorie allotment but truthfully, I wanted to eat the entire pan! I didn't, so that's a win!!
August 19: 168.9 No reason for this, just normal body fluctuations. But I do feel bloated today (which is not usual) so maybe that's it. Excited it's the weekend, I'm throwing a party on Sunday for my daughter, so much to do!
August 20: 168.1 In major party prep mode, should get lots of steps today but also need to make sure I make the time to get my workout in. Not making myself a priority is how I gained this weight to begin with. Have a great one, everyone!

August 22: 167.5 Averaged about 14,000 steps each day over the weekend even without getting a workout in, I'm exhausted but it was all worth it giving my daughter a fun party! Ate what I wanted at the party but tried to be mindful of portions, happy to see that I didn't gain from it! My focus this week is getting back to my consistent workouts.

August 24: 167.9 normal weight fluctuations... Really feel like running today, may try an easy, short run to see how my knee feels. Been dealing with some swelling and pain there for a couple of weeks without any real reason. My doctor cleared me to run in a compression sleeve as long as there is no pain.

August 29: 167.4 The positive is that I didn't weigh myself for 4 days and was kind of loose with my calories but still managed a small drop. The not so positive is I have not been focused this month like I need to be to really lose this weight. Only 2 pounds lost in one month is not the goal! But motivation comes and goes in waves and at least I have ridden the low motivation out without going off track and gaining this month. A loss is a loss and I feel my motivation to buckle back down coming back. Planning for September to be a great weight loss month!

08/29-196.6-(Trend Weight 199.8)- Wow, what an overnight drop! Water pill yesterday has relieved my ankles. TMI today finally. Very very scary low blood pressures again last night which lead me to pushing water very late in case it was dehydration after the pill. Hardly any sleep, up all night with #1. So I wonder how accurate this weight is due to dehydration. Today is my doctor appoint with family doctor for after- surgery follow-up and glucose A1C check. Son’s appointment also. Appt is local but we may travel afterward, not sure yet. If so, I will definitely try to hang on to as much of this loss as possible.

I have been on MFP since October 2018.
I am close to 10 pounds heavier than this time last year.
Hoping to drop weight this month, but have extended company coming, an old friend who is a chef and cooks amazing meals. So much for my grilled chicken with veggies or salad. I will do my best.

Monday August 01 - 139.2 - Using last month's EW. A holiday in my Province today, but not a food holiday. I am working.
Tuesday August 02 - 138.6 - Hoping to continue to see drops before my company arrives on Saturday so that I have a "cushion". Feeling pretty lean this morning.
Wednesday August 03 - 139.0 - I had planned a cleanse for later in August, but Wild Rose has been discontinued. It is a bunch of herbs and a food plan. I do know the food columns of what to have 80% of each day etc. The herbs are organ specific. I will be looking into what else is available. Does anyone have a good kit that they use?
Thursday August 04 - 138.8 - Going to keep it very light for the next couple of days before my company arrives. He is a chef and I expect to be eating more (and richer) food than usual starting Saturday for 8 days
Friday August 05 - 139.9 - Quite surprised at this jump up, I had a very good day exercise and food wise. Going to try to take it in stride, actually feeling lean this morning.
Saturday August 06 - 138.1 - That was the last of being "good" for the next 8 days. I am going to try not to be rude and sit at the kitchen table at my laptop reading and writing into these forums while I have company (in a couple more hours from now). I will be logging and weighing, just not sure if I will make it on here or not.

Monday August 15 - 140.1 - I still have some really good food left, but will keep the portions smaller, and no wine or cocktails.
Tuesday August 16 - 139.4 - Still working on leftovers, tonight should be the last. I am going to have pesto that was made out of things in my garden with some Konjac pasta (10 calories for the whole pack), a bit of chicken mixed in and a salad. It would be nice to see that 136.2 from Aug 07th again soon.

Thursday August 18 - 137.7 - That was very nice to see this morning.
Friday August 19 - 137.8 - Felt quite lean this morning. Working a split shift today and expect to eat more calories than I have been this entire week.
Saturday August 20 - 138.8 - Up a pound. I worked late, so ate late. Burned a whole lot of calories running around work.
Sunday August 21 - 138.7 - Had hoped for a bigger drop than that, but it is what it is: Very easy and quick to put it on, but very hard and slow to take it off
Monday August 22 - 139.1 - MFP again saying that I should be 119 by eating like I do. Just 20 pounds off of the 2 year predictions. Quite surprised to see a gain today, maybe I overheated and body is holding on to water. Ate 1043 only in calories yesterday.
Tuesday August 23 - 138.1 - Hmm. Okay. Still trying to learn to deal with the fluctuations, I do think that I am taking it better than I used to, but again, I would rather be fluctuating around in the 120s. Keeping at it, maybe some day.
Wednesday August 24 - 138.8 - It seems that if I am anywhere over 1100 calories for the day that I see a gain. That is not sustainable long term.
Thursday August 25 - 138.3 - Jumping around in weight as usual. Eating has changed up since my tomatoes are becoming ripe, tomato sandwich every day now : - )
Friday August 26 - 139.3 - A whole pound up from yesterday? Geez. Working a split today, so dinner will be late. I will get extra workouts in during my break at home in the afternoon.
Saturday August 27 - 139.6 - I felt quite lean all day yesterday and burned a boat load of calories. Late night eating and choices outside of my norm...I did expect a gain this morning and got it. I have so much yardwork to do including cutting the grass, but it rained overnight and is due to rain a few more times today with possible thunderstorms, so I suppose I will have to bite the bullet and get some things done inside of my house. I will find any excuse to do things outside instead, no matter the season.
Sunday August 27 - 140.6 - Ow. A few days left, hoping to at least get back to my start weight for the month.
Monday August 28 - 141.0 - Weighed extremely early. I burned more calories than I ate yesterday, so I expect to see a dramatic drop if I can weigh at a normal time tomorrow.

Very very scary low blood pressures again last night which lead me to pushing water very late in case it was dehydration after the pill. Hardly any sleep, up all night with #1. So I wonder how accurate this weight is due to dehydration. Today is my doctor appoint with family doctor for after- surgery follow-up and glucose A1C check. Son’s appointment also. Appt is local but we may travel afterward, not sure yet. If so, I will definitely try to hang on to as much of this loss as possible.
08/30-200.6-(Trend Weight 199.8 No water pill yesterday, bloating today and BAM!!! There goes the scale! Clearly it is going to be hard to judge any progress with this every other day pill, but I’ve just got to trust the trend weight and hope the numbers gradually drop, even if they fluctuate from day-to-day. Finally some good health news, my A1C which stood at)- No water pill over 12, then over 11 is now down to 9.7. I know I have a long way to go to get in the 5’s, or even in the 6’s as a Type 2, but that is a major improvement. I was 7 pounds down from my May visit. She was happy to see that but wants more, more, more and so do I.

August 01: 169.4 Stuck at this exact number for like 5 days, I'm patient, eventually it will drop and reflect the work I am putting in. Going to resume running today for the 1st time in almost 1 month (wasn't able to run most of July due to Covid/Covid recovery), will be interesting to see where my running fitness is.
August 02: 169.2 Successful day yesterday! Went on a short run, felt good, but will need to slowly build back up my mileage to where it was + did a full body endurance workout with weights.
August 03: 168.9 Yesterday was a Yogalates workout + a walk. Dinner was a bit heavier (calories still within my range), so pleased to see a loss today on the scale!

August 14: 171.0 Not too bad (I'd hoped to stay under a 3 lb. gain, so sucess!) My goal is to be back in the 169s before next Sunday. Went for a long walk yesterday, today is technically a rest day but will be very active getting things done around the house/yard.
August 15: 170.1 Vacation weight is coming off! Delicious meal at home last night with herbs, tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini from our garden mixed with some red lentil pasta.
August 16: 169.4 Yay, back to my round start weight! Yesterday went for a walk and did a Pilates workout. My running and more strenuous workouts are on hold for the moment due to some inflammation in my knee, it's always something:) Need to meal plan and grocery shop today, husband is making salsa as we are in tomato overload from the garden.
August 17: 169.0 Didn't get my lunch time walk + weights workout in on my lunch hour yesterday because was tied up on work calls and then was off to run errands for 3 hours after work. At least I got some steps in doing that! Grabbed Chick Fil A on the way home but just got nuggets and made my own chicken Ceasar salad when I got home for dinner.
August 18: 168.4 Pretty happy with the number on the scale this morning! The temps are much cooler this week, so felt like cooking yesterday, took advantage of some of the tomatoes & herbs from the garden and made a pomodoro sauce for a baked gnocchi dish. I ate the serving that fit into my calorie allotment but truthfully, I wanted to eat the entire pan! I didn't, so that's a win!!
August 19: 168.9 No reason for this, just normal body fluctuations. But I do feel bloated today (which is not usual) so maybe that's it. Excited it's the weekend, I'm throwing a party on Sunday for my daughter, so much to do!
August 20: 168.1 In major party prep mode, should get lots of steps today but also need to make sure I make the time to get my workout in. Not making myself a priority is how I gained this weight to begin with. Have a great one, everyone!

August 22: 167.5 Averaged about 14,000 steps each day over the weekend even without getting a workout in, I'm exhausted but it was all worth it giving my daughter a fun party! Ate what I wanted at the party but tried to be mindful of portions, happy to see that I didn't gain from it! My focus this week is getting back to my consistent workouts.

Been dealing with some swelling and pain there for a couple of weeks without any real reason. My doctor cleared me to run in a compression sleeve as long as there is no pain.

The not so positive is I have not been focused this month like I need to be to really lose this weight. Only 2 pounds lost in one month is not the goal! But motivation comes and goes in waves and at least I have ridden the low motivation out without going off track and gaining this month. A loss is a loss and I feel my motivation to buckle back down coming back. Planning for September to be a great weight loss month!

Have been waiting for a definite start date on a new job, but they are still going through the process of doing background checks and such. I currently work for the State and have been accepted for another position with the State. Unfortunately, they won't just open my personnel file and retrieve the information they already have, they are doing it all over again from scratch. It has been over a month since they began. It's very frustrating. Anyway, somehow I am hoping to find time to increase workouts/walks while packing and preparing for a wedding.

Broke her heart and mine that she is sick and that she will be missing her whole first week of school. I fell back onto my coping habit of overeating to deal with my feelings. I am ashamed that I am not stronger when it comes to this issue.

08/30-200.6-(Trend Weight 199.8 No water pill yesterday, bloating today and BAM!!! There goes the scale! Clearly it is going to be hard to judge any progress with this every other day pill, but I’ve just got to trust the trend weight and hope the numbers gradually drop, even if they fluctuate from day-to-day. Finally some good health news, my A1C which stood at)- No water pill over 12, then over 11 is now down to 9.7. I know I have a long way to go to get in the 5’s, or even in the 6’s as a Type 2, but that is a major improvement. I was 7 pounds down from my May visit. She was happy to see that but wants more, more, more and so do I.
08/31-200.0-(Trend Weight 199.9)- How flirty that teasing old scale was today in regards to that illusive Onederland! Diet was so-so yesterday so I attribute the loss to mainly my water pill. Not fair though, up 4 pounds without it, down 0.6 with it. I know weight can take a few days to present itself, but I’ve been doing pretty good except for the lack of exercise. I did try to walk my cul-de-sac the other day. It is just one house away to the end (although the houses are generously spaced apart), then back around. But it is on a steady incline to start with a downslide back, then up another incline to get up my longish driveway. It’s something I did a LOT last summer. Boy, was it scary. I almost couldn’t get back home. The breathing is WAY WORSE since the surgery. I don’t know what they did in there but it’s horrid. I did tell my personal cardiologist this when I saw her this month. I also told my family doctor, thus the scheduled pulmonary test in Oct. Maybe they should have stented the other two arteries also (that was the original plan). I miss walking but after trying it, I understand why they said “no” until I get cardiac rehab. Total loss this round – 1.6 lbs.

August 01: 169.4 Stuck at this exact number for like 5 days, I'm patient, eventually it will drop and reflect the work I am putting in. Going to resume running today for the 1st time in almost 1 month (wasn't able to run most of July due to Covid/Covid recovery), will be interesting to see where my running fitness is.
August 02: 169.2 Successful day yesterday! Went on a short run, felt good, but will need to slowly build back up my mileage to where it was + did a full body endurance workout with weights.
August 03: 168.9 Yesterday was a Yogalates workout + a walk. Dinner was a bit heavier (calories still within my range), so pleased to see a loss today on the scale!

August 13: DNW Been out of town and got back late last night and slept in this morning so will weigh in tomorrow. Expect to be a up with a few vacation pounds but will work to be back down in the next week.
August 14: 171.0 Not too bad (I'd hoped to stay under a 3 lb. gain, so sucess!) My goal is to be back in the 169s before next Sunday. Went for a long walk yesterday, today is technically a rest day but will be very active getting things done around the house/yard.
August 15: 170.1 Vacation weight is coming off! Delicious meal at home last night with herbs, tomatoes, peppers, and zucchini from our garden mixed with some red lentil pasta.
August 16: 169.4 Yay, back to my round start weight! Yesterday went for a walk and did a Pilates workout. My running and more strenuous workouts are on hold for the moment due to some inflammation in my knee, it's always something:) Need to meal plan and grocery shop today, husband is making salsa as we are in tomato overload from the garden.
August 17: 169.0 Didn't get my lunch time walk + weights workout in on my lunch hour yesterday because was tied up on work calls and then was off to run errands for 3 hours after work. At least I got some steps in doing that! Grabbed Chick Fil A on the way home but just got nuggets and made my own chicken Ceasar salad when I got home for dinner.
August 18: 168.4 Pretty happy with the number on the scale this morning! The temps are much cooler this week, so felt like cooking yesterday, took advantage of some of the tomatoes & herbs from the garden and made a pomodoro sauce for a baked gnocchi dish. I ate the serving that fit into my calorie allotment but truthfully, I wanted to eat the entire pan! I didn't, so that's a win!!
August 19: 168.9 No reason for this, just normal body fluctuations. But I do feel bloated today (which is not usual) so maybe that's it. Excited it's the weekend, I'm throwing a party on Sunday for my daughter, so much to do!
August 20: 168.1 In major party prep mode, should get lots of steps today but also need to make sure I make the time to get my workout in. Not making myself a priority is how I gained this weight to begin with. Have a great one, everyone!

August 22: 167.5 Averaged about 14,000 steps each day over the weekend even without getting a workout in, I'm exhausted but it was all worth it giving my daughter a fun party! Ate what I wanted at the party but tried to be mindful of portions, happy to see that I didn't gain from it! My focus this week is getting back to my consistent workouts.

August 24: 167.9 normal weight fluctuations... Really feel like running today, may try an easy, short run to see how my knee feels. Been dealing with some swelling and pain there for a couple of weeks without any real reason. My doctor cleared me to run in a compression sleeve as long as there is no pain.

August 29: 167.4 The positive is that I didn't weigh myself for 4 days and was kind of loose with my calories but still managed a small drop. The not so positive is I have not been focused this month like I need to be to really lose this weight. Only 2 pounds lost in one month is not the goal! But motivation comes and goes in waves and at least I have ridden the low motivation out without going off track and gaining this month. A loss is a loss and I feel my motivation to buckle back down coming back. Planning for September to be a great weight loss month!
August 30: 166.0 There is the whoosh I was looking for!!! Yesterday was an all-around good day, went on a long walk and then did an upper body endurance workout with weighs.
August 31: 165.4 Yesterday was a great running day (felt strong!) + a Pilates/Barre sculpt workout. Dinner was from the garden (zucchini, tomatoes, chives), made a crustless zucchini & chive quiche and husband made a yellow heirloom tomato salsa to go with it. Going to miss summer!

My goal this month is to maintain weight as well as increase activity. I will be moving at some point this month so I will be doing a lot of packing. Have been waiting for a definite start date on a new job, but they are still going through the process of doing background checks and such. I currently work for the State and have been accepted for another position with the State. Unfortunately, they won't just open my personnel file and retrieve the information they already have, they are doing it all over again from scratch. It has been over a month since they began. It's very frustrating. Anyway, somehow I am hoping to find time to increase workouts/walks while packing and preparing for a wedding.
