Katla - What great news! Sending big hugs for all the family.

That was a quick post, because Waitrose arrived dead on 7 am. All put away now. The poor woman had to negotiate all around the pavement works to get to our front door. We have put the dustbins out halfway down the road!
Thank you Barbie!
Levi is growing so fast, Lisa. Oh my word! I felt so sad when Bea left the baby stage and there is a short time when they get frustrated with their own babyness, especially if they have older siblings, but that time has passed now and she is a joy. The family are taking their first 'road trip' this August, because she is older now. They will be touring Slovenia for two weeks, staying in four different places, mountains, lakes, etc. That would have been torture when they were younger.
I still miss a baby to cuddle, though.

Good Morning from a sunny York
Thanks Barbie for setting up a new month - August already, the months are flying by.
My aim for this month is to be more positive, I feel as if I have let negativity hold me back. I'm always looking for things to go wrong, I never used to be like this.
I also want to get healthier, treat my body like a temple (and not a dustbin!) I'm sick of feeling tired, fat and frumpy!
Katla Good news
Pip Love the new rug
Tracey My mum's TENS doesn't have pads, it looks like a pen, you put the end on where the pain is and press and hold the clicker (like a ball point pen) and leave it for 30 seconds. I'll have to try and take a photo .
More I wanted to say, but if I don't move now my knee will seize up completely.
Take care and love to all

Good Morning!
Thank you Barbie for creating this group and allowing me to join! I am from Maryland, 53, and have struggled with weight all of adult life. I am currently learning to track Macros and eat whole foods (trying). Moving is the biggest challenge for me, but I am trying! I am a mom of 3 and a Grandmother of one, work full-time, Cheer Coach (retiring at the end of this month), small business owner.
My 3 goals for August;
🔸Drink more water
🔸 Move more
🔸 Plan to meal prep
Happy Monday,
Stacey

Katla-glad you are reunited with DH and you are both safely at daughter's. Hope he continues all in his recovery and you all adjust well.

Hi all!
Thank you so much for the support. {{{Hug}}}
Hugs to those who need them, congrats to those who are celebrating and welcome to the newbies!
Things got really busy, deadlines loomed and so I cut back on all social media (FB and forums) and got to work. Also, in previous jobs, I was able to pop a note in here now and then during the day when others were taking a coffee break or something, but in my new position, it's been busy all day, every day ... but a good busy. Half the time this month, I haven't known what day of the week it was.
July Highlights
I'm really enjoying work ... it's interesting and one of the best parts is that people are asking my opinion! There is a lot to do and I'm really trying not to look at it at home.
I finished my part of a project I've been working on, in the evenings and on weekends, all year! I had to get that part done by the end of July, so it was head down and focus. There will likely be more work on that project, but for now, I can spend my evenings doing something else. I actually felt a little bit lost for a few minutes last Saturday evening after I had emailed my last document off!
And then I started catching up on other things.
My cycling club has been planning our new season ... lots of emails back and forth about that but we're getting close, and I created 3 new routes and am working on a 4th, which I'll continue in a moment.
My husband and I cycled our longest distance since his accident in early July (72 km) ... and have done 40 km rides the last two weekends which is more than we've normally done. It's great to be cycling more again! And this is winter.
I've also been doing quite a bit of walking and a little bit of jogging. Between that and the cycling I've had a pretty good month with exercise. I was supposed to do a run last Saturday, but unfortunately had dropped a laundry hamper on my left foot ... and it turned blue. However, cycling was all right ... stiff soled shoes.
My husband and I have started working on the garden again too and have gravelled another section. We've been up to our "gravel shop" three times shovelling base gravel and top gravel to fill an awkward area. We'll be putting in a row of pots with hot pokers ... a blaze of colour.
I've been weeding and planting bulbs for spring too. It's a bit late so we'll see what happens.
And ... there was the Tour de France and Tour de France Femme!
Overall, July was a full-on but good month.
Where I've been walking ...
Flea, I'm thankful for your good news.
Beth, I'm sorry about your father.
Katla, I'm glad you and your husband are together again. Road to recovery.
Barbie, thanks for the thread.

Welcome, Stacey from Maryland! We are glad you have joined us. Great goals, by the way.
Viv, I like your new goals: "be more positive" & "treat my body like a temple"...they resonate with me, too!
I am rejoicing that Katla and her husband are together and safely with loving family. Joy!

Max has arrived. He is now explaining by drawing a diagram how his bike gears work. This morning, after the girls were dropped off at football, his mum took him cycling up to Devil's D y k e . Then she brought him over. The role of the modern parent!
When I was a child my parents kicked us out in the morning and we had to make our own amusement. I spent a lot of it, when I was 9, stealing. (I was very disturbed)
Who wants to see Bea with her "Where's my pizza" face on. Bad luck if you don't.
Nice to see you , Machka.

Thanks Heather!
Looks like you and your family have been having a lot of fun lately.
I forgot to add one thing to my Highlights ...
I'm fully First Aid Certified again. I had the in-person course on July 21 but had to do the longest online module I've ever had to do with one of these before the in-person part. Took me about 3 evenings to get through all the material. It was VERY thorough, but I'm not convinced it was entirely up-to-date. However, it's good to have the refresher.

OH WOW Bethe! Can't wait to hear how that goes for you! I'm really interested. One thing I've been seriously interested in, PURELY for the asthetic value, (really... because it's cool-looking) is a wind panel wall. They're really pretty and they have the multi, individual panels that turn and I just like looking at them, not to mention that they'd save some money.
OH KATLA, I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!!!
You've been BUSY Machka!
Welcome AUGUST! (not really... not ready for fall, but time marches on)
Thanks for the new thread Barbie!

Up early today! I had a power waffle, 1/2 banana and peanut butter on it.😁👍. I hope my 2nd shingles shot doesn't give me too much trouble today.
The last couple of days I have been eating 2 meals a day, because they (the intermittent fasting community) say that IF can play H e l l with your bloodwork numbers. Even thru in some ACV shots too.
Long hair with warm days is no fun, but I mostly put in a hair tie anyways. It is only a wee bit past my shoulders now. I've come a long way since I had husband shave my ears with an electric razor! Lol! My hair is turning darker now, with long strands of gray. The gray hair is playing nicely with others and not standing straight up like a cupie doll!
Time to start the day!

Kirby’s 1st day riding while I walk the boy. He got 24.1 miles in, not bad just for casual riding, no backpack, no snow, just taking it easy. Tomorrow, my turn.

Pip glad to hear that Kirby was able to ride! I just have to say though that I love that bird bath! Is that your front yard?? If so how do you get your fencing to look like that?
Margaret thanks! We've had a lot of interest and hopefully it will sell within the next two weeks! It was nice to see Gayle on here but she was here and gone! Hopefully she will be back!

Glad Katla and DH are back together. Now for the real healing to begin!
Matchka glad your back! I love reading your posts. Your energy level makes me envious!
I think I figured out my plateau problem. The colitis did it. I starting taking my colitis meds again and voila—- 4 pounds disappeared and my pants are now slipping down. No more bloat!!
Doing 16/8 fasting again combined with low carb. I do best that way.
Sinuses pretty much healed-so much easier to sleep without waking up choking on phlegm or dry mouth! Now on to stabilize new psych meds.
One day at a time!
