OH WOW Bethe! Can't wait to hear how that goes for you! I'm really interested. One thing I've been seriously interested in, PURELY for the asthetic value, (really... because it's cool-looking) is a wind panel wall. They're really pretty and they have the multi, individual panels that turn and I just like looking at them, not to mention that they'd save some money.
OH KATLA, I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU BOTH!!!
You've been BUSY Machka!
Welcome AUGUST! (not really... not ready for fall, but time marches on)
Thanks for the new thread Barbie!
Chat tomorrow, love ya! Carla, in MN4 -
Two Grands First Day of School

Up early today! I had a power waffle, 1/2 banana and peanut butter on it.😁👍. I hope my 2nd shingles shot doesn't give me too much trouble today.
The last couple of days I have been eating 2 meals a day, because they (the intermittent fasting community) say that IF can play H e l l with your bloodwork numbers. Even thru in some ACV shots too.
Long hair with warm days is no fun, but I mostly put in a hair tie anyways. It is only a wee bit past my shoulders now. I've come a long way since I had husband shave my ears with an electric razor! Lol! My hair is turning darker now, with long strands of gray. The gray hair is playing nicely with others and not standing straight up like a cupie doll!
Time to start the day!

Kirby’s 1st day riding while I walk the boy. He got 24.1 miles in, not bad just for casual riding, no backpack, no snow, just taking it easy. Tomorrow, my turn.

Pip glad to hear that Kirby was able to ride! I just have to say though that I love that bird bath! Is that your front yard?? If so how do you get your fencing to look like that?
Margaret thanks! We've had a lot of interest and hopefully it will sell within the next two weeks! It was nice to see Gayle on here but she was here and gone! Hopefully she will be back!

Machka, You sound busy and happy.
Carla, I looked up wind walls. Mesmerizing!

Glad Katla and DH are back together. Now for the real healing to begin!
Matchka glad your back! I love reading your posts. Your energy level makes me envious!
I think I figured out my plateau problem. The colitis did it. I starting taking my colitis meds again and voila—- 4 pounds disappeared and my pants are now slipping down. No more bloat!!
Doing 16/8 fasting again combined with low carb. I do best that way.
Sinuses pretty much healed-so much easier to sleep without waking up choking on phlegm or dry mouth! Now on to stabilize new psych meds.
One day at a time!

Katla - So pleased that you and your husband have been reunited. Hope you are all doing well.
Carol - The grands look happy to be back in school - but August 1? Holy guacamole, we never started school until the Monday after Labor Day in early September.
Pip - Love the birdbath and the rugs and the plant holder. You have an eye for color. Hope the bike riding lets Kirby's foot heal.
Barbie - Hope the news is good from the retina specialist.
Heather - Edie creating that gorgeous dress with a skirt shows a budding fashion genius. I love the way you and Johnny give a free space for them to be kids. I know the big reason you moved there was to be able to see them more often. Have you exceeded your expectations of how all that would turn out? Bea's waiting for pizza face made me laugh out loud, and Max is growing up so fast! As far as cuddling babies, yeah I never was that grandma. Corey's the baby whisperer. I like them better once they can talk. Don't tell the folks at the Grandma Union, or they'll come and yank my grandma card.
Machka - Good to see you, dear heart.
Quiet day after a busy weekend. Getting pasta boiled for a pasta salad so it will be cold by the time we eat dinner.
My daughter let me know that she's trying to get down here mid-month for a three or four-day visit. At this point, the plan is they want to bring tents and sleep outside. Not being the one to squash an adventurous notion, I just said, "Sounds great!" We're under a burn ban and a water restriction, so we'll have to load the kids up and get them to a local swimming hole. Well, they will have to load the kids up. Swimming is still not part of my life for a while. Neither is being a half hour from a bathroom.
This too shall pass.
Later, y'all,
Love,
Lisa

Carol - Nice pics of the grands. Ours only broke up just over a week ago and won't be going back until September!
DH'S walk and talk went well. They ended up in a fish restaurant and had fish and chips.
I managed to edit my last chapter and only have the postscript to go. Scary to think it will soon be out in the world.

Taken at the garden at the Little Log House in Hastings. The last weekend in July a Farmer opens up his property so we can visit all the buildings he has collected over the years. He even has his own church. A marquee from a Drive- in movie theater that was torn down called the Cottage View. An old car hop called Porkey's that was on University Avenue. That was close to where I used to work and ironically I never went to it. We did have lunch there yesterday. In the past I would have bought more from the vendors. Son was proud of me I only bought two jars of homemade jam.

PT this afternoon. It is going well and the ankle is improving. I feel like I am able to take more normal strides again. Enjoying having DGS here. He likes to do cross stitch so a trip was made to Ben Franklin store to get more materials yesterday. His current project is to make bookmarks for everyone for Christmas.
Carol - do your grandkids go to year- round school? My great niece did and they just had 2 or 3 weeks off between each quarter.
Katla - hope things are going well for you and DH. Enjoy the grands.

Katla – I know you’re so happy to have your dh. I didn’t realize that he was out of the nursing home and with you. How great is that?
Work tomorrow...boo no exercise. But at least we have ceramics at night. Why I didn’t think of this before is beyond me. But what I think I’ll do is order a bottle of the black paint and work with that color while at home when they are closed. So that’s something I need to do tomorrow
I can’t believe it’s august already. Thank you barbie. Where did the summer go? It goes by too fast for me. Winter just seems to drag on and on (except when we go to FL – then it goes by too fast)
Tracey – love the china cabinet. Really like the brown against the white. You are as creative as pip. It seems that lately Jess has gotten into gardening. Or at least she’s showing an interest. She wants me to garden. Well, if she wants to see something that is dead I’m the person she can go to….lol

We had a long time apart while DH was in a care facility. Our daughter brought me home from Oregon to Illinois.. Doctors were finally willing for DH to join us here in Illinois. He our nephew travelled with DH, and that went well. DH is here and our nephew has returned to Oregon.
I am delighted to be able to visit this group. I missed all of you.
I have grand children outside and I am ready to see them and let DH have a needed nap.

I keep my hair up most of the time too- It is a bit longer than yours. Middle of my back when dry but past my waist when wet(very curly). I have a grey streak at one temple. Have more grey coming in but that streak has been there for years. Used to call it my skunk streak. Hair is lighter colored so not as noticeable but I see it. Former hubby still calls me Blondie(from back when we both used a LOT of SunIn in our hair. Now I tell him not blond as it used to be but getting SILVER.3 -
Katla- so happy your all together again..
I just laid low here today ..it was a pajama day all day..
Heather- Johnny is such a fantastic Grandpa and I can see how much the kids love him to pieces..
Me I have a way with babies they gravitate towards me,maybe its because of all the extra well ya know Miles passes out on me between 2- 4 times a day when I have him and even though he cant talk yet you can tell when he is excited and happy.. he is cutting a 3rd tooth and a 4th is about to come up and thr top 2 will be next.
Didnt get over to get Homer out today and i feel bad now because Tom and Elena got home 1/2 hr late because of traffic..ill be there tomorrow1 -

dinner tonight here is cashew chicken.
TONS of veggies(all from helping at the food program, same with the chicken thigh meat-
Had a small bowl full for late lunch and will have another after Zumba tonight.
cooked down the two small baskets of blackberries I picked at mom's Saturday afternoon- super ripe(the way I like them) so needed to be used right away. I want to fill some crescent rolls with some for our picnic after class Wed. I didn't add anything to the berries- will add a little honey powder if it isn't sweet enough- it is cooling now so I will try it- Want it to be just berries but will see.
Took the daycare girl to the park- walked instead of driving(it is just four blocks or so away) then I walked/jogged(that is a first) while she played. At over 12,000 steps already with an hour of zumba in two hours.
In a challenge with one of the zumba friends- fun to be competitive. Just a M-F challenge so easy to do.
