09/13-195.8-(Trend Weight 198.8)- A day off of travel allowed me to take the water pill. Wow! What a drop! I was also extremely careful with my diet. A stellar day! Nice way to end a challenge but it will be even more challenging starting next round with this number and still make progress. We all know the food holidays are on the horizon. I’ve got to keep diligent in order to venture into those ahead of the game. This was a great round for so many. Thank you all for sharing your journey, your ideas and your progress with me.
09/14-199.8-(Trend Weight 198.9)- Obviously no water pill yesterday. Hard to gauge progress like this. My weight yesterday would have had me at a loss for the week. Water-logged today does not. Makes me want to throw in the towel because how much information am I really getting anyway? What am I truly tracking anyway? Ugh! Travel today for dental cleanings for son & I so no waterpill today either. I’ll be like a squishy water balloon by tomorrow’s weigh-in.

My start weight today is 189 lbs. My goal is to get back to 180 lbs.
    September 1: 189 lbs
September 7: 186 lbs. Wednesday regular weigh-in. So down 3lbs have 6 more to go.
    September 8: 186 lbs
    September 9: 184.5 lbs
    September 10:
    September 11: 193.5 lbs
No typo. How do I gain 9lbs in less than 48 hours. Food intake the same. This can be so discouraging. I am lost for words.
    September 12: 193 lbs
    September 13: 188 lbs
September 14: 185.5 lbs Well it took 3 days to go down 8lbs. Sometimes I wonder if Daily tracking is helpful. But knowledge is power.

@Bemybestby60 I applaud you for sticking it out. Last week I gained 3 pounds in 24 hours and there was no change to my diet, liquids, calories or sodium. It took me 5 days to get it off. I was really stressed out in those 24 hours.
    I don’t get it either.
Are you really close to a normal body weight for your height? Those last few pounds can be tough. It’s up to you if you want to keep weighing daily or not, you’re right knowledge is power but daily weighing can be a slippery slope! Whatever you decide, you are doing what’s best for you and your body and your mind and we are here to support you!

    9/1/22- 175.2 lbs Here's to a better Autumn!
9/2/22- 179.4 lbs :-( How one day can be such a big jump, must be water retention. Only 45 minutes/3.41 miles on my Elliptical. It kept seizing up on me. Hadn't happened before till 2-3 hours in. Guess it's about dead! Checked out another store today with ellipticals. Looked at Octane and Spirit brands today. Previously looked at PreCor and Matrix. Any insight from any of you would be appreciated. The repair guy that had come out 10 days ago said they see many repair needs on Matrix and very early on, that they shouldn't. And long waits for parts on them.
    9/3/22- 176.4 lbs
9/4/22- 175 lbs 45 minutes on my elliptical while my roasted butternut squash was roasting. At a wedding today. Tried to be pretty careful and only take a taste of some of the items. Was a impromptu wedding, planned a couple weeks ago for a girl from work, who has been with her beau for 10 years. We all brought a side dish to share. It was very nice for going from a original zoom wedding a few weeks ago to this with a 5-10 minute discussion at a summer work party. As others have said, these things are hard to calculate calories. But I think I did fairly good other than the piece of cake. But you have to have some wedding cake!
9/5/22- 177.2 lbs :-( Stayed true to my plan today. Wanted something sweet so I grabbed a keto chocolate hazelnut cup to stay on point.
9/6/22- 176.2 lbs Still keeping on track. Did my Elliptical for 181 minutes/13.2 miles today. It hasn't bit the dust yet. Some squeaking but only occasionally. After a appointment at 3, I went out comparing different ellipticals. I need to get a new one sooner than later before it totally dies on me.
    9/7/22- 176.2 lbs
9/8/22- 176.2 lbs :-( Was hoping for some movement. Stayed on plan, no cheating.
9/9/22- 174.6 lbs :-) Finally!!! Downward movement helps me stay motivated & on track. Off today, did 181 minutes for 12.5 miles on my Elliptical.
9/10/22- 173.6 lbs :-) Yes! 195 minutes on the Elliptical for 13.45 miles.
    9/11/22- 173.6 lbs :-| 185 minutes on my elliptical for 12.76 miles.
    9/12/22- 173.6 lbs :-|

9/13/22- 174.2 lbs:( Didnt get into my driveway from work till 9:02 PM from 6:15 AM. Ate some cashews that I keep in my car for my dinner on the drive home. Came into the house, showered and went to bed. No time to post.
    9/14/22- 173 lbs :-)

@joans1976 I'm also trying to get more movement during work days. We're doing a charity thing called STEPtember at work which is definitely helping.

    About Me

My name is Ian and I am a 62 year old male from the Midlands of the UK. I am 6' 0" tall. I have a number of health conditions which prevent me from doing aerobic exercise and I take medication which as a side effect lowers my metabolic rate and increases my feelings of hunger. I can't walk so use a mobility scooter. As a result my weight loss depends totally on calorie intake reduction.

    My Goals

My initial target is 100kg by the end of October, to move from obese to simply overweight. I would like to get my waist size below 40" too. My calorie intake target to achieve that is 1,200 - 1,300 calories/day.

For September my goal is 101.8kg, a loss of 1.8kg (0.45kg or 1 lb/week), and a waist size of 42.5"

    Today's update:

    15/9: 103.2kg. Calories 1271. Body Fat 32.8%

Another increase this morning. Calories intake still on track. Only thing I can think of is water retention due to salt/carbs - had an Italian breakfast of sliced meats and a croissant yesterday too - a little indulgence. Have to seriously tighten the reigns if I’m to achieve goal by end of October.

09/15-200.2-(Trend Weight 199.0)- Not too bad after travel. It was a very long day. Now I’ve found out that I have some decay (yuk, what a word) under an existing crown. They will not be able to save the crown in order to fix it. Several more appointments necessary between now and mid January. $$$$. I’ve been going through my clothing as I prepare for the fall/winter season in Michigan. Oh my Goodness. What size do I keep in my bedroom and what sizes go upstairs in storage. It’s so back and forth on the scale! I’m going to stay positive and hopeful and keep my next two sizes upstairs but very accessible. I can do this! Family doctor is increasing my Trulicity to stage 3 (of 4) while I await hearing from new endocrinologist. I feel like I’m staying in control/on top of everything (pretty well). I still haven’t heard from cardiology rehab so I am going to start some mild exercise at home on bike (easy level) and stretching. I can’t just keep sitting here and expect to lose calories by blinking!

I’m getting a little frustrated now. I’ve been pretty much sticking to my target calories intake yet my weight has increased by 0.5kg over the past few days rather than fall. I really don’t understand it, been counting my calories as accurately as I am able without becoming obsessive. Today is a fast day - I skip lunch and dinner - so hopefully see some improvement tomorrow.

I guess for me knowing that I can gain so much weight overnight is has two outcomes. One with a negative emotion that causes anxiety but also a positive outcome because if I stick with my plan I will lose that rapid weight gain. So when I say knowledge is power it helps me stay on track. In the past I would just give up and start back not tracking and not working out. Thanks for you input it is greatly appreciated. Yeah I am not near my goal weight.
