9/14 - 150.5
9/15 - 150 - I've been working really hard to get at least 10,000 steps in a day the past couple weeks. That includes joining our county metroparks hiking spree and walking in place at my desk. It has not helped with my weight loss as much as I would have liked, but I am really enjoying getting the extra movement in my daily life.
9/16 - 149.5 - Husband and I walked a 2 mile moderate trail yesterday evening. I am feeling it in my legs this morning. It is a good feeling though.
9/17 - 150 - I had 2 small pieces of pizza last night, so I'm assuming this is sodium. We're planning another hike for today.
9/18 - 150.5 - Went hiking yesterday and got in my 10,000 steps. I've logged all my food this week and have stayed within my weight loss ranges. This has to be more sodium from the steak we had last night. Nothing to do but keep trying. We're going to our local zoo this morning to take a mile and a half walk and check out the animals.

I’d like to join you all for this round. During a visit to my GP yesterday (for something else entirely) she pointed out that I’m a bit heavier than I should be for my height. Of course I already knew this, but I’ve been lacking the willpower to do something about it. It surely can’t be a coincidence that this challenge is starting on the very day I’m looking for some extra motivation 😊

9/14 170.8 lbs
9/15 169.8 lbs It was pouring with rain at lunchtime and I had a choice between going to a fitness/strength training class or sitting in my nice warm office and reading a book. Miraculously, the class won!
9/16 170.4 lbs Ate out at a Turkish restaurant last night after another medical appointment across town. I avoided the bread but did eat most of the fries because the garlic sauce was delicious. I’m probably safe from vampires for a while!
9/17 170.4 lbs Worked from home yesterday so had to make a conscious effort to get my steps in. Quite pleased that I managed to get to just over 15,000, as my step count can be woeful when I don’t walk to the office.
9/18 168.6 lbs Grocery shopping and chores got me to 10,000 steps so I spent the rest of the afternoon crocheting xmas decorations (I’m slow, so I’m starting early).

9/17-127.9 AM: Good start for the week-end- Last night I switched out the linguine, (linguine and clam sauce), for spiral Zucchini (my husband stuck with linguine). It was not bad at all, but then I am not much of a pasta fan. PM: Looking over the menus of downtown restaurants for things I can eat. My husband is dying to go out, he has a craving for BEEF. I am allergic to Beef and Lamb so going out is the only way he can get it. Let's hope I do not blow up my diet. I did bank 325 burnt calories.
9/18-128.4 probably should not have eaten fried food last night-oh well!! Today is a “no exercise day” which my muscles clearly need. Our son and daughter-in-law for chicken dinner tonight.

Please join us starting on 9/14 for JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS, when we will begin Round 199
Anyone can join us at anytime during the round.
Join us! If we stay mindful we can do this, you can do this.
Welcome back past members, welcome new members, let's keep each other accountable for another 10 days!
Here is what you do: Post your daily weight and add little comments along the way of how your day went. Post everyday to let us know how you're doing! Copy and paste the days in your response--tell us how much you lost and other non scale victories (NSV) you'd like to share.
FOR NEWBIES - I find it easiest to copy the dates to a document or note in my device and edit it each morning. Then copy and paste to the message board. MFP will return you to the spot on the board where you left off on your previous visit which is nice to know if you like to scan all of the posts.
👍👍This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE👍👍

ROUND 188-SW 179.2, ROUND 189-SW 180.2, ROUND 190-SW ?, ROUND 191-SW 174.4,
ROUND 193-SW 179.6, ROUND 194-SW 179.2, ROUND 195-SW 172.4, ROUND 196-SW 171.8
ROUND 197-SW 172, ROUND 198 -SW 170.49/4: 170.4 this is the weight i have to report on today. i wish it was higher (dang scale) so when i report next sunday it would look like a loss. there's a neighborhood cookout today. gonna try to stay away from the carbs. and the mixed drinks... good gosh, when i get together with these people they'll always hand me something and say "one little (insert food/drink here) isn't going to hurt ya." i can overcome "one little", but they don't seem to understand there's 30 of them! that's too many "one little's"!
9/5: 169.8 did not log meals yesterday because of the cookout. 99% of the food was especially bad for someone dieting. there was a charcuterie board that had a little corner of strawberries, everything else high fat/high carbs/high calories. my little dip in weight is probably from mega stress i've been trying to deal with which slammed my emotions hard yesterday. this morning the coping skills back in check. i haven't been able to go for walks for some time now. Dr. tells me it's sciatica, but i've had constant pain for over a year now. the pain flares up to a point that i just don't want to move at all. taking anti inflammatory and muscle relaxers is not helping, and my follow-up is not until the 29th. i may end up trying to see him again sooner.
9/6: 169.2 have to take an unexpected trip for a few days. i hopefully should be back before this challenge ends.

9/10:
9/11: 168.2 only visited the scale once today, so that's probably not a valid weight. i'm expecting it to be higher once i get back into my regular routine. they had a spring/analog scale where i was at, and it said i was 170. probably more accurate.
9/12: 169.8 another invalid weight. it's afternoon, i've already eaten, and i'm fully dressed. it's an encouraging weight also though, because i've broken all my rules for weigh in and i'm still below 170!

ROUND 199
SW: 167.8
Day/Weight/Comment
9/14: 167.8 went 300 cal. over my weight loss, but remained in my maintain. also, went on a chocolate binge last night. feeling pretty guilty about that. i did drink plenty of water, which probably accounts for the loss.
9/15: 166 macros looked like i was practicing keto yesterday. cheeseburgers scheduled for lunch today, with the buns, so i'm expecting a gain. plenty of water.
9/16: 166.2 i need to develop better coping skills. went over in calories by 200

I thought I’d see a drop as my calories were very low yesterday—I missed breakfast and didn’t eat much else due to feeling yucky from vaccines. Oh, the mysteries of weight loss!

I fell of the wagon a bit last night, but that’s ok, back on today. I was hungry. 😁 I just got back from a lovely “sniff walk” with my dog. It’s cool and lovely out.
9/15 - 177.8
Delayed reaction from Tuesday. No problem. Tonight’s my no dinner night because Rory & I will be at doggy school, so that will even out my daily calories. 😉 I’ll hope for a drop tomorrow.
9/16 - 177.8
Nope. But I was on target, so no sweat.

It’s a gorgeous Saturday and I have roses to plant. I’ve gone a bit rose crazy this summer—highly recommend Heirloom Roses! I’ve been ordering from them and am very happy with what they send! Anyway, mucking around in the garden keeps me from eating, so my report is relevant. 😁 Enjoy your day!

Day/Weight/Comment
9/14: 131.4 - Normal workouts and packed most of my calories at the end of the day (not intentional). Stayed up reading way too late, so not that much sleep. I was supposed to get my Covid booster shot today, but the pharmacy cancelled saying they hadn’t received any doses yet. Trying to get it done in time before we travel in October.
9/15: 132.1 - Ended up getting my booster shot when my husband went in for his shot. They were nice enough to squeeze me in. He must not have any side-effects since I hear him exercising right now. I, on the other hand, am doing my best impression of a slug.
9/16: 132.1 - Was down and out all day yesterday with a slight fever and aches so didn’t get any exercise in. Wasn’t all that hungry either until evening. Feeling much better today.
9/17: 131.8 - Another skipped day of working out. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t do any workouts 2 days in a row. Back at it though this morning.
9/18: 131.8 - Back on track again. Got my workouts in, good eating and pretty good sleep. My goal is to keep this up the rest of the round before we head off backpacking when things won’t be as routine.

9/14 119.0 Finally TMI relief after several days of stress but I ate a small churro with OMAD. Post op doc for DH this morning.
9/15 120.0 We went to Great Greek yesterday. I ate 1/4 pita. Talked with daughter about gluten, she and both of her girls have tried to eliminate it due to the inflammation and bloating. Since I avoid bread in general, I guess I have also pretty much eliminated gluten.
9/16 119.0 Brunch with DD#1 and my BFF. DD flew home last night arriving at her car at about 10:30 then driving almost an hour home.
9/17 118.0 Hello 118! Nice to see you again. Today will probably be Great Greek as we have become “one” of the Sunday Regulars and the manager worries about us if we don’t show up. We went to Walmart and Sprouts yesterday.6 -

09/16 -199.0- (Trend weight 199.0)
09/17 -198.4- (Trend weight 199.0) My daughter got off work early so I only had to babysit in the morning. I took my son to lunch locally with a friend and her son. I finished my plate which I have taught myself not to do (usually). After breaking that good habit, I came home and was extra careful for the rest of the day knowing I could not afford many of my usual choices. Another good habit put into practice! It helped. Scale down ½ pound but trend weight is keeping a careful eye on me and doesn’t trust me. I get it.
09/18 -195.4- (Trend weight 198.6) I had a very good day with diet choices. Worked hard going thru closets and drawers throughout the house (not done yet), but I am still surprised at the drop. No water pill yesterday, no TMI this morning or any other “helpful” things. I think I was very low on water yesterday while I was so busy. Could be a bit of dehydration as it was all coffee and very little water. I guess we shall see. So hungry this morning, typical after a drop. Come to think of it, I did hit 6 hours of sleep last night which is phenomenal for me.

9/15 / 170.4 / Had a good day exploring Sidney yesterday with family and new friends. Today we are going over to my husband's cousin's house for french toast and then we are going to Butchart Gardens.
9/16 / 170.8 / We are on our way East slowly making our way back home by Sunday, but first we stop in Penticton, BC for two nights. On the road now after a fun day that started with high tea, a bus tour around Victoria, and then the ferry ride back to the mainland.
9/17 / 172.4 / Off to bike to wineries today. Not as warm as I'd like, but that might be a great thing when we get working up a sweat on the bike!
9/18 / 174.4 / Driving home today and back to work tomorrow. This vacation has felt amazingly long and I am so thankful. My husband and I made many beautiful memories with family and with each other.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

I am about 8 kg along the way to lose 32 kg. I use multiple tape measurements (cm) around my body because they aren't affected by salt intake. My weight has been dropping for 5 months now. Apparently I've been trying to lose weight since September 2012, the last time I was at goal weight. Let's see if stopping eating sugary food is going to change things.

I'm intentionally losing weight slowly, it's going to be about 2 years to get to goal weight (64 kg). Weight is in kilograms, did I eat sugary food, followed by how much I've overeaten above 6,000KJ per day since 1st August 2022, followed by my exercise on the treadmill (speed km/hr x minutes). Tracking intake and exercise will stop mid October 2022.
Day 01 18-Aug 88.4, sugar, 11,500 excess food, treadmill 5.2x12, 4.0x33
Day 02 19-Aug 88.1 new low, sugar, 10,500 excess food, treadmill 5.2x13, 4.0x32
Day 03 20-Aug 87.6 new low, sugar, 9,500 excess food, treadmill 5.2x14, 4.0x31
Day 04 21-Aug 87.2 new low, sugar, 9,000 excess food, treadmill 5.2x15, 4.0x30
Day 05 22-Aug 87.6, sugar, 11,500 excess food, treadmill 5.2x10, 4.0x5, 5.2x5, 4.0x24, 5.3x1
Day 06 23-Aug 89.3, sugar, 13,500 excess food, treadmill 5.2x10, 4.0x5, 5.2x5, 4.0x24, 5.3x2
Day 07 24-Aug 88.6, sugar, 16,500 excess food, treadmill 5.2x5, 4.0x5, 5.2x5, 4.0x5, 5.2x5, 4.0x23, 5.3x3 I've been eating too much for various reasons, basically "sympathy meals", which really shouldn't be happening multiple times a week. I'm allowed to have "celebration meals" but again too often isn't useful. I've decided to stop running and I'll use the elliptical for a while, I'm getting quite tired and I can mentally switch off on the elliptical but I can't do that on the treadmill.
Day 08 25-Aug 88.2, sugar, 15,500 excess food, elliptical 10 min each at 10, 9, 8 settings, I don't trust the energy values on machines so I'll give this session 100 units
Day 09 26-Aug 88.3, sugar, 14,500 excess food, elliptical 10 min each at 10, 9, 8 settings 102 units burned

9/19 167.8 lbs Went for a 7 mile walk early yesterday morning, and it definitely feels like autumn is in the air here. Collected some windfall walnuts on the way – those will be saved for some lovely blue cheese salads.

64 yr young F, 5ft 4 Round 199( my 131st). Thanks again @QuiltingJaine.
The whole of this round I am away abroad on holiday; no scales. I am trying to choose food wisely, portion control & restrict adult beverages to no more than 2 or 3 per day in an effort to refrain from too much of a gain 🤞.

9/19 - 149.5 - After the zoo yesterday, I took two more walks at my local park to get in my steps.

9/16: 166.2 i need to develop better coping skills. went over in calories by 200
9/17:
9/18: 168.2 this is obviously not my round.

09/17 -198.4- (Trend weight 199.0)
09/18 -195.4- (Trend weight 198.6) I had a very good day with diet choices. Worked hard going thru closets and drawers throughout the house (not done yet), but I am still surprised at the drop. No water pill yesterday, no TMI this morning or any other “helpful” things. I think I was very low on water yesterday while I was so busy. Could be a bit of dehydration as it was all coffee and very little water. I guess we shall see. So hungry this morning, typical after a drop. Come to think of it, I did hit 6 hours of sleep last night which is phenomenal for me.
09/19 -197.8- (Trend weight 198.5) Hmph….Best day in a long time. Dietary was perfect. Added some exercise yesterday including a hike along the river with my son. I didn’t understand the big drop yesterday so I suppose this big increase today is a balancing of the books. I did about half my usual hike. When I got to the biggest hill I had to turn around as my breathing was already labored. But it felt great to get out in the woods and on the trail. I would push water today but when I do it just pools at my ankles and doesn’t help the scale. But it does help with my frequent hydration so……. Choices, choices.
