Less Alcohol ~ NOVEMBER 2022 ~ One Day At A Time

1.5 glasses of wine last night. Altogether not bad. At least my food was under control! Baby steps. I told my husband I want lipo for Christmas! Haha! Just suck out that extra fat and do a reset. But I know it’s not how that works.
@womona - I very much relate to your recent comments - these and up through Thanksgiving! I was on the same path.3 -

As usual, when faced with a statement contrary to my established beliefs, I resort to Google. [and a healthy dose of scepticism]. My go-to healthy breakfast [when I'm not gobbling scrapple & eggs, or french toast & bacon] is a dish of oatmeal/cinnamon/flaxmeal/dried fruit, all "good-for-you " stuff. After @globalhiker 's post about the estrogen evils of flaxmeal , I ran to Google and discovered info on the SAME PAGE that flaxmeal is good/bad for you....😇😈...
sigh...everything in moderation...or, just, "don' worry, be happy".
Meanwhile, I'm on Amazon sending Bermuda rum cakes to all of the family who went on that fabulous cruise a few
years ago.
No Chianti last week, opened a bottle tonight. Don't know why because , it doesn't go with turkey. Cork back in after one glass.
Maybe tomorrow's beef roast will suit better.
I know many of y'all belong to Book Clubs, I don't, but will ask, have you read "Elisabeth Is Missing " ? Such a scarey story of dementia, told by the person who is experiencing it. Those of us who have elderly relatives might gain some insight ...I know I did.
Cuddling under afghans with Catpuccino ...low level purrrrs ...
G'night.

@RockinRobyn672 What a kind thing to say! You can help by telling me to stop whining when I get too dramatic!
Another way to easily find this thread is to flag it (in the upper right corner of the comments) and then the next time go to “community” then to “bookmarks” and it will open right to where you left off.2 -

Whew this month was rough. Work got the best of me and I went back to bad habits. Ugh.3 -
I've cut back a bit and I am going AF for December. I don't want to wait until Jan 1 and start the year off with a hangover. New Years eve drinking has never appealed to me anyway. I want to look and feel my best in 2023.
I am assuming a link for December will be posted soon?5 -
Yesterday was lovely but I went way over my calories, wine consumption and baked goods, all in the name of birthday celebration. Slept terribly of course. I feel the sugar still coursing through my system!!! Ugh, feel crappy today and now I have to drag myself to go work out, do some errands and then go to work. I want to do none of it! Tonight will definitely be AF!
I lost all my motivation to put up the rest of the decorations, and start shopping for Christmas. I had that mild twinge of panic this morning because all of a sudden I feel behind the eight ball with holiday prep. I really need to get a move on if I want my holiday season to be relaxed and joyful. Slow and steady wins the race, not week before Christmas panic!
I have a number of parties in December that I have to navigate with not overdoing food and alcohol. It has me a little anxious. I always make a good plan in terms of food and drink, my problem is sticking to it!!6 -
Hello my Less Alcohol friends and welcome to our new contributors this week.
I will be posting the link for the very much anticipated DECEMBER LESS ALCOHOL THREAD 2022 later today.
For those of you that are new here we have a monthly thread. It has been in existence since 2017.
The renew of a monthly thread allows us to redesign our goals if needed, reset our minds and focus on what drinking LESS means to us.
Be sure to check HERE for an easy clickable link to Dec

I am Dawn, 62, 5'2", SE BC
This November the 28th, (my late Dad's birthday) will mark my 4th year on this thread.
Not only has it kept me accountable for my alcohol consumption, it truly has become a community for me, especially while we were in various lockdowns.
Sticking with my (reachable) goal of the last few years, 16-20 AF days. I have been successful each month with this expect for most recently in September when I was having a Margarita every day in Mexico and reached only 14AF for the month.
Diary Style:
Friday November 25 - Drinks
Saturday November 26 - Drinks including trying to replicate the beautiful Manhattan that I made last Saturday, had one sip of and then broke. It didn't turn out as good, wrong proportion. I also had a travelling mug of hot chocolate with peppermint schapps as I walked the entire parade route.
Sunday November 27 - AF - Need to get at least 2 more, Tuesday and Wednesday for sure, Monday will be a very late night and might be up for grabs.
Monday November 28 - 1 1/2 drinks
Tuesday November 29 - AF
Wednesday November 30 - AF - The day isn't over, but I know that I will be AF tonight to squeak out my 16 for the month. I will NOT topload drinks days at the beginning of December, aiming for drinks one during the work week and Fridays and or Saturdays for December.

@joans1976 You have good reason to whine and I'm glad you feel comfortable doing it with us. I do it too but for less whiney reasons. Hang in there. You're going through a really tough time right now but I'm confident that you will persevere and make it through this with flying colors!4

Hi All - I've been away but I'm back. I have found that I don't meet my goals without the support of this group and I've also missed everyone. Since I started late, my goal this month is 10 AF out of 18.
11/29: Drinks (0.5) - I had to pick up DH at the airport at midnight last night (last night as in 11/29). I find it hard to go to bed after coming in at night, so we watched some TV, and boy did I want to have a drink or two and a snack once we were back. I had small amounts of both but I stopped myself from going all out. I "thought" about some of the tips in the article in my 11/28 comments. I need to read them again.

Howdy gang. Click the above link for the December thread that will take place of this one after today.
Hope to see ALL our wonderful participants and as always we welcome new faces.
My accountability for November 2022 was very close to where I was hoping to be. Despite a few times going off the rail by having two drink related days consecutively. Back on track for December to keep to my goals.5 -

11/30: AF - Worked a little late yesterday, then worked out and it was 8:30 before I started working on dinner. The day flew by. I had a virgin Cape Cod with dinner.
I'm a little under goal but I'm happy with this. I have limited my intake daily. I'll see you all in the December thread.
