THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Same goal this round as last; to lose a pound. No binges, keep within limits.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. Healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

Count me in for this round. My goal is to weigh less than SW. I lost 1.2 pounds last round but it was a struggle. My weight fluctuated up and down. This round I will continue to plan/track meals, exercise even though traveling, and avoid late-night snacking triggers. I am, I can, I will, I do!

Just as I suspected. But today is a new day, and I want to be down a bit by Christmas, so planning, planning…. My biggest challenge is to stop eating at night. I’m sure it’s emotional/comfort eating, but it’s ridiculous and I really need to find a way out of this self-destructive behavior. I think part of it is that we eat dinner early — my hubby has always been in the habit of dinner at 5 p”clock — so by 9 I have the munchies. I’ve been thinking for a while of sipping bouillon rather than snarfing popcorn or whatever, but I never discipline myself enough to actually do that. But I’m pretty disappointed in myself. I mean, really, -2 pounds in a year? I’m also not getting as much exercise since my pup died, but that will change in January when our new baby comes home. 😁 Anyway, DH has always done a lot of the cooking here, but his idea of a light dinner is, for instance, what he’s planning for tonight—fettucini alfredo. I think I’ll steam or roast a mix of veggies or make a bowl of cauliflower rice to replace the pasta and have a Tbsp of alfredo for flavor. That will keep peace but also lower my calories. Sorry to go on and on, but you’re a friendly audience, get it, and can skip if you don’t want a novel! Thanks for the platform!!!

11/26 -196.6- (Trend weight 198.1) I’m very pleased with this weight today as I go into Turkey Day for my family. Yesterday was a lot of baking. I always seem to show a gain if I eat all 3 meals and yesterday I did eat 3, even though they were all “diet” and within plan. I think the slight gain is mainly from the one cupcake I gave into and all the spoon licking, as well as incorporating lunch (about 350 calories). Today will be very tempting. Tomorrow will likely show a gain but I will try to watch portion sizes (even if I’m over calorie because of all the choices.) Because it’s not a “diet”, it’s a lifestyle, today is a great day to practice eating with good judgment, staying attuned to my hunger cues, and eat smaller amounts at a time. It’s also okay if the pies and desserts wait a couple of hours after dinner. What the heck is the hurry?
11/27 -197.6- (Trend weight 198.0) Only one pound gained after my Thanksgiving feast yesterday. I’ll take it! It makes me feel very firmly planted in Onederland but I've got to turn that typing in blue back around to typing in pink. My kitchen and dining nook reno is almost done. Here are some pics.
Notice the bluish sculptured carpet from the dining side (yes carpet in the dining room!) meeting right up to the red patterned flat carpet in the kitchen (right where the ugly cold register floor vent is).
Dark drab cabinets. Dark red wallpaper! This was my kitchen. It has a very small footprint and the last thing it needed was such darkness!
We are almost done. Tile is not grouted, final paint on cabinets and ceiling need to be done. Some trim work is still incomplete and a heater vent is to be moved. I will probably paint the bay window white (including the grids). The table you see is temporary since it's the only one with a leaf for all the holiday gatherings. I have another that matches furniture from the nearby open livingroom.
Otherwise, yay!!!! I will post more later after the window and other things are done. I prolly won't get to that project until after Christmas. I am also going to be switching the kitchen from red to blue so the rug is temporary. That will happen early next year as I begin to accumulate my blue items.

REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.
DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!

Same goal this round as last; to lose a pound. No binges, keep within limits.Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! 11/23 135.6 – 6.72 miles walked, food all on plan.
11/24 135.4 – 10.43 miles walked, feeling strong. Wishing all friends and their families across the pond that are celebrating a wonderful day.
11/25 135 – no structured walking, childminding DGS, took him to a Christmas tree festival at a nearby church; just a month to the big day !!!
11/26 136.2 – uggh cake why !! weak will power . 10.15 miles walked.
11/27 136 – must stay strong now – I'm worth better than weaknesses with food. 9.82 miles walked.
11/28 136 – 8.02 miles walked. Sunday lunch out with siblings yesterday, was easy to resist a dessert as none of them inspired me!! Didn't need any evening meal as still felt full after roast beef.

11/28- 183.4 made it through Thanksgiving with no gain only to go down hard with a Sinus infection/cold. I definitely fed my cold and got zero exercise. I turned into a child and spent two days eating high sodium canned soup, bologna sandwiches, Milano cookies and goldfish crackers. Lol the comfort food of an eight year old!
I feel slightly alive today and need to rally. I have over 50 guests coming to our annual holiday party on Friday. Not sure if I’ll have the energy for the gym. I need to prep for the cleaning team my DH gifted me to detail my house today so I can start decorating tomorrow.6 -
