Sunday class was a great interval training ride - PR average watts! Big burst at the end was a 1 mile drill--got it in 2 minutes flat! (last best was 2:04)

Hello, friends, and welcome new members! It’s been a while but. Oy does MFP make this hard to get to :-) not aiming for double lime some of y’all, but I’m on track to pass the goal and have already passed my elevation goal of 100k’!

Fully recovered from the 7 broken ribs in July and back into my sunrise routine! Now I need to get back to the calorie tracking side of the app and shed Some weight I put on during my convalescence. It’s always something. Cheers!

@billbiggers06 Woah! It's been a while! Glad to see you back.
Had a bit of an aquarium disaster over the last couple of days that put me right back into having makeup rides once more. Tomorrow should wrap those up if I can get two rides in. Gah. Nothing like having an 80 gallon aquarium decide to start pissing water out of itself. But it's resealed and is successfully maintaining a full water inventory right now - leaving it in a '24-hour hold' status over the course of the night before I dare get the gravel, the plants and the fish back in. It's been an interesting week off the bike lol
Thank goodness for Zwift - been able to squeeze rides in between monitoring water levels and taking care of the house.

Almost don't want to jinx myself by proclaiming that I'm once again done with makeup rides... but I'm once again done with makeup rides. The aquarium's holding, too. Got its gravel back in it - now am holding while the filtration system and gravity do their thing and get the water clarity restored before I return the plants.

Well if it ain’t always something around here… I entered the wonderful world of atrial fibrillation on Sunday night, spending five hours in the ER, trying to get my heart rate back down. I seem to be back to normal now, but I cannot schedule the follow up tests because my medical provider is about to go on strike and they are not making any appointments. I may get on the bike anyways and just “take it easy“ but I’m sure that won’t be a popular decision around here. If I drop dead before the end of the year, I want to be strapped to my bike and rolled around a track until I hit my goal. Don’t forget to turn on Strava!

@billbiggers06 Oh holy heck!!! Dude! Please, please take care of yourself. If/when you get to pedaling again, definitely take it easy. I'm glad you're still kickin'!!
On this front, did the daily 10 on the way to a swim (and took it really easy coming back to the house)... and I'd forgotten that Tuesdays and Thursdays are not only swim days, but also 'the significant other wants to work out' so get onto Zwift and pound out some miles on the pedals days. Yeesh. So three recorded rides today. None very long, but the last one was quite tough.

It looks everyone has exceeded 2023 or is very close and I believe all will get there.
Well, I have not been riding but have been walking. I have been working on the trailer I pull to cycling events and camping grounds and free camping sites, adding solar and battery system. I mounted my bike high on the wall to preserve floor space. I am mounting some light shelving to organize my battery, refrigerator and freezer. I have a changing area and clothes rack for convenience when you are at a campground or riding event. If I have water and food, I should be able to stay out for weeks before I need to go into town. I never go that long. You never know when you need a burger and beer!
Its been 90 days since my Mom passed away and I wanted to ride. I loaded my bike but did not ride. I am finishing my trailer and plan to travel to two events still in the midwest before winter.

Have done 4 more indoor classes since last update. 86.8 miles - 3 were HIIT, one I kept it pretty much zone 3 ride.
Rode outside yesterday, took a spill when I took a curve too fast slipped and rode off into the brush. I'm OK but my rear wheel took some damage. It didn't seem too bad but I took it in to bike shop (needed a tune up anyway) and they said it was beyond repair! I didn't think it was that bad...but they were able to do a warranty claim so getting it replaced. Made it 11 miles when this happened -- luckily I was near home as I was doing an out/back followed by an out/back and I was right in the middle of the two.

@cszulc Oh yikes!!! Glad to hear that /you're/ okay - I had the exact opposite at the beginning of August in my crash. Bike was absolutely fine (it was my vintage Panasonic DX-3000 - that bike could likely survive a nuclear detonation), but I was absolutely battered. Right arm still hasn't finished recovery, and index finger still feels... wrong. Just wrong. Pain when utilized at times and not enough strength in it, plus still about 50% bigger than the index finger on my left hand and thicker overall than my middle finger. As said, wrong.
I have yesterday to make up (ran out of hours in the day), but I'm going to do that tomorrow. That'll put me finishing the Zwift training plan tomorrow for a make up ride, and doing the Tour of Watopia for the daily ride. Gotta earn that double experience while I sweat all over my trainer, darn it!! (and who knows, maybe starting Monday I'll start rampaging around on that gravel bike some more just for fun - there's a few grassy trails I've seen around the neighborhood and I intend to see if they'll swallow my tires or not lol)
