Good. I’m headed back down despite the sample oatmeal-coconut-raisin cookie from the batch I baked for DH. I just shoveled the driveway and sidewalks so I’m feeling warm and energized! I hope it sticks for a few hours. Still wrestling with puppy-induced sleep deprivation, although he did nap a long time yesterday afternoon because one of my training buddies brought her 15-week-old Flat-coated Retriever puppy over to play. My Booker is 10.5 weeks. Boy, did they have fun wrestling and running and getting wet and dirty. We had fun watching, and then cleaning them up! Some of you said “more pics,” so here they are in a less frenzied moment, my Booker on the left and Chaos on the right. Cutie boys.
1/23 - 177
Oops.
1/24 - 177.4
Ah, well, a couple of nights of relapsing snackwise will do that. DH bought a Marie Callender chocolate pie to try, and I didn’t realize how crazy many calories were in a serving until later. Yikes! Trying to straighten myself out today.
1/25 - 177.2
Better, not perfect, last night. We’re getting all-day snow, so I’m off to shovel what’s there now. Exercise!
1/26 - 176.8 💚
I did much better yesterday — no nighttime snacks. Yay!

Aww, come on. No idea. Salt maybe.

Day/Weight/Comment
1/22 / 176.6 / Less than a week left until we go to Costa Rica for three weeks. Wanting to get a bit more weight off before we go. Today we are watching football and we have stuff to get done around the house.
1/23 / 176 / One day down, four days of work to go until my big 3 week vacay. Just staying focused on the tasks I need to get done so I can enjoy the break!
1/24 / 176.6 / Feeling well rested after a good night's sleep. Another busy day of meetings ahead, including a lunch with my boss. Steps will be lower than normal when I get home. Hoping to ride the Peloton to offset.
1/25 / 179.4 / Used food to soothe last night and it showed on the scale this morning. Today was a condensed day at the office as we left early to do team building at an indoor skydiving place. It was fun and I was so happy I didn't have to worry about fitting into the jump suit. Pizza dinner afterwards. Steps were good.
1/26 / 178.2 / Hubby and I have been enjoying oatmeal for breakfast the last couple of days. Today at lunch I'll get out for a walk with a recently retired coworker. Haircut after work.
1/27 / 176.2 / Last day of work before 3 weeks of holidays. Hooray. There is lots to get done at the house before we go.

quiltingjaine wrote: »@CamandJarvis Eating salad before it goes bad!! That’s my problem. DH seldom eats salad at home so how does 1 person eat the 3 heads of romaine that come in a package? I make wrapped “subs” and salads for my OMAD but it’s never enough!
Oh absolutely! The only saving grace is that our fridge has a drawer that I can set temps real low. It doesn't quiiiiiiite freeze everything in there, but it keeps it very crispy cold. But it's a short drawer (think juuuuust barely tall enough to fit a carton of strawberries in, height wise) so I have to improvise my storage containers to fit all my produce in there. They'll keep for a bit longer, but not as long as I need to eat it all. I'm glad when the younger kiddos are here, stepdaughter looooves veggies, even more than I do. At least I waste less with her around because we'll snack on them together as well as add to lunches and dinners. Plus she always asks for veggies so she keeps me eating them! Wish she was here more than 3 months a year, I could use that subtle hint hint nudge nudge she gives about eating. (She's also a cross country and track runner. I can't keep up with that...)2 -

1/27 215.1 (-.0.5/-3.5) I am over the moon....I am a wine drinker and enjoy a glass or two daily. On the weekends my husband and I might share a mixed cocktail. I knew that it was all empty calories and had slowed down my weight loss. I told myself that was ok, as long as I was still losing and I still got to enjoy my wine.
Then I hurt my foot, so the exercise stopped and my weight loss stalled as I was maintaining (if not gaining) even though I was eating well; clearly, it was the empty calories. So I decided to skip the booze and OMG...It's not like I didn't know it but I just didn't take action~

@fmfdfa2020 Yay on the no's !! NSF (No Sugar, No Flour)
Thank you @SherryRueter . I saw a few posts back where you had gone 7 days NSF and called it "sugar sober," which is perfect. That's exactly how I feel - sugar sober. The cravings for sugar/flour control my daily life. I'm so glad that I'm past the first 6 days and the cravings are starting to subside, and I'm feeling somewhat normal. I'm definitely not one who can eat a little and stop. I wish the best in your NSF journey as well!4 -
@fmfdfa2020 & @SherryRueter After you have been sugar free for awhile, if you eat a piece of birthday cake you will get a hangover headache! I speak from experience! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️2

I need to get back to a fasting schedule.
1/22 126.5 Fasted until 4:30 or 5. Got an Unwich at Jimmy John’s (#7) and could only eat half! I did have a glass of red wine and dumped the remaining 1/2 bottle down the drain!
1/23 125.5 Art Quilts, etc meeting this morning, picking up a friend for lun-ner this afternoon (Golden Corral?) Weight might jump up tomorrow.
1/24 127.0 As anticipated. Golden Corral for the first time in months. Not as good as I remembered it. 🤷♀️ Stayed to 25g TC limit but too much salt and not enough water and drank coffee later than usual so couldn’t get to sleep.
1/25 127.0 No TMI for a couple of days UGH Got my new Garmin and set it up yesterday afternoon. YAY! Calories, protein and fat all under; carbs over by 6 - all came from assorted low vegetables.
1/26 126.0 Good day yesterday- only 13g TC and over 5000 steps due to shopping. Today I have guild meeting an hour away and meal with a friend before repeat meeting. I’ll do my best to make that a good meal.
1/27 126.5 20g carbs - it was 15 until I ate 2 squares of Sam’s Choice Dark Chocolate-something has changed with that product. It no longer melts in my mouth. Oh well, Amy and I went to Chipotle for dinner - we each got a salad and no chips. Or as many steps as I expected. I’m so happy to have my new agar in and that it is synced with my iOS devices!6 -

1/23: 121.6 - waiting for TOM to get here any minute. Have a dog walk and a treadmill run planned today. It’s chilly out there so not particularly excited about the dog walk 🥶 Happy Monday everyone!
1/24: 120.8 - still waiting for TOM. Was an utter insomniac last night but I'm trying not to focus on the lack of sleep (mind over matter?). Today I have plans for a dog walk and a Peloton ride, and chicken adobo with baby bok choy for dinner. Tonight I'm taking my dogs for a training consult with a company that uses e-collars for correction. I feel hesitant about it but also my dogs are so hard to walk and I'm tired of it. I want to improve our relationship since we're in this for the long haul.
1/25: 120.8 again. I'm fine with maintaining here for a while TBH. I have a feeling I'll have a whoosh loss if TOM ever gets here. Today I have plans for a 45-minute endurance run on the treadmill. It is really rainy outside so I doubt my poor pooches will get a walk. I don't think they love the rain much more than I do!
1/26: 119.8! There's TOM (finally - I was starting to worry when it was 3 days late! 2 babies is plenty for me) and a little whoosh. I did my 45-minute treadmill run yesterday and my legs are sore today. Think I'll take an active recovery day and try to focus on work since I got nothing done yesterday. I'll do some dog walking and/or yoga I think. I found a race to sign up for in May. It's a 10k at the New River Gorge in WV that goes rim to rim, so it's 1300 feet down and then 1300 feet up!
1/27 - 119.6. Yesterday I did a really fun Peloton walk on my Tread and some relaxed yoga. It felt so good! Today has started off weird because I decided to take my youngest in for an ear infection and a covid test (there was an exposure at his school this week and he developed a new cough). Negative for covid and we were able to get some abx for his ears. We’d been using drops but they weren’t doing the trick. Poor kiddo. Now I’m waiting at the pharmacy and will take him to daycare once I get a dose of amoxicillin in him. So I’ve essentially already burned a half day of work. Glad I had a productive day yesterday at least!! Happy Friday, everyone!

Day/Weight/Comment
1/22: 131.3 - I’m surprised it is not higher since I’ve had two late night binges in a row. I think the only saving grace calorie-wise is that on both days I ended up eating only one meal. Today I’ll go back to a more normal meal schedule.
1/23: 131 - My daughter stopped by on her way home (we’re about half-way on her 7+ hour drive) and took a bunch of the goodies that I had made for our dinner party with her.
1/24: 132.9 - Binged last night
1/25: 131.8 - Did better yesterday. I think it helped that all my meals were very vegetable-forward (less carbs)
1/26: 131.4 - Still too many sweets/carbs yesterday. Did not do my usual workout but got a hike in instead.
1/27: 131.4 - Ate better and got some extra walking in, but still need to lay off the after dinner eating.

Total round weight loss/gain to date from EO last round: + 0.1 pounds9 -
I was part of this challenge a while back, and was glad to see it's still around (thank you @quiltingjaine! ) In June, I was diagnosed with a serious medical illness. I had surgery with great results! I stress-ate like there was no tomorrow, and didn't exercise at all. I'm back to just 6 pounds from my heaviest. I'm having a hard time getting back to my healthy ways. This forum helped me before so I'm back, not just for the accountability but because how kind and supportive everyone is to each other.
Goal this round:
Do NOT eat sugar or white flour. These are my downfall. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Start back rowing/walking/weights. Eat healthy. Drink 80oz water each day.
01/21 - Start Weight: 180.2
Round 212
01/22 - 177.9 - As I've gained weight this time, I've gotten closer and closer to the 180's and hitting 180 yesterday, I hope, jerked me awake. My plan was never to see that number again (and for that matter, I never "planned" to see any of the numbers I've seen, who does, right? ) . Anyway, yesterday was a really good day, finally! I did as I have done every day, which is eat healthy and keep my calories in check for the entire day, but all other days, I've ended up bingeing in the evening. Yesterday, I did NOT. Yay! Getting thru a day where I was in control and not my sugar-craving self was wonderful! Happy Sunday everyone, and for those who watch - football!!
01/23 - 177.2 (weighed later than my normal time) - Second day on track. Need to up the amount of water I'm drinking - only drank a little over 40oz each of the last 2 days. I rode the stationary bike yesterday for a whole 10 mins, but you have to start somewhere. I haven't exercised since my surgery in June. My exercise today is snow shoveling. I shoveled once already and another round is coming in this afternoon. We have a 600ft driveway (no, not shoveling it LOL). We have a plow but there are all the side doors, sidewalk, getting out to my workshop, etc. I could use the snow blower but sometime it's easier just to grab a shovel and it burns lots of calories!
01/24 - 178.5 - Perfectly normal to fluctuate but too many carbs/salt doesn't help. I did not have any sugar or white flour yesterday, which is great. I am very happy about that! However, I'm trying to make up for the lack of these with too many other carbs. For some reason the carb I've chosen to eat too much of is grits. I haven't really eaten grits that often since I was a kid growing up in Georgia. I know it's just my body craving the white flour and sugar. I also have been adding too much salt. Recognizing I'm doing this is the first step, now I'll adjust. More snow shoveling today. Yay!
01/25 - 178.7 -
01/26 - DNW
01/27 - 178.5 - I thought I would be up after over indulging for my 26th wedding anniversary . It may catch up with me tomorrow. That's okay. What I'm proud of is that I still had no sugar/flour. I already don't eat hardly any processed foods, so to keep sugar in my life, it takes an effort from me to literally add it or to buy something sweet. I've had nothing sweet in my house for months except sugar. I had been adding way more than I want to admit to my hot tea that I would drink all day (I'm originally from the Georgia, where sweet tea is like syrup ). That stopped 6 days ago! The first days are the hardest, and I'm so glad to be past them. I love drinking hot tea in the winter. I need to slowly learn to enjoy it without sugar.
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

Hi all,
Wow, is it ever snowing and it will get down to -19 tonight. I hope others have having better weather!
I haven't posted for two days, although I have tracked food and exercise. I have missed posting the daily reflection with all of you!

1/22 200 (Big plans to sit at my desk, mark assignments and enter marks for mid-terms. Sheesh. Will try to get up and run up and down stairs every 20-30 mins. Made lentil soup and chicken bone broth yesterday, so I have something warm, nourishing, filling and not too caloric for quick meals/snacks this week!)
1/23 199 (Nutrition and exercise good, but too much work to do weight training today. Cardio only. Feeling a bit under the weather, so I may be fighting something. There is so much going around at school.)
1/24 199 (I am coming down with something, so it has been hard not to eat everything in sight! When I’m sick I often do not make good choices and struggle to exercise. I exercised and ate well today. Whew!)
1/25 198 (Good day for nutrition and exercise!)
1/26 199 (sore from changing up my weight training yesterday, ate an Oreo at a tem-end celebration for one of my classes)
1/27 200 (birthday meal at a restaurant last night—carbs and salt are showing up on the scale!)
1/28 --- (NOT weighing in today! Too depressing. I’ll weight in once the sushi rice and soy sauce have cycled through! Another restaurant meal tonight, though. I’m not sure where we will go, so I don’t have a plan yet. Will jump on treadmill after school, so I don’t miss my exercise.)

Stayed within calorie budget and exercised. Was an active day for me and I was a bit hungry during the day.

Why O why do I eat my children's leftovers? My youngest is the worst for leaving food on his plate. He eats like a bird - the occasional peck at his food then he moves on. I need to add a goal which is not to eat my children's leftovers and get him to sit at the table until dinner is done.
1/26: 173.3 lb
I have been naughty and have not been counting a vegetable stir fry I usually eat for lunch. I think that is the reason for my lack of progress. I will count it from now on and see what happens. I thought it was relatively benign. It has cauliflower, zucchini, mushrooms, onion, and bok choy. It will be interesting to see how many calories it comes to.
1/27: 172.0 lb
Well the "benign" stir fry turned out to be 100 calories per serve. So not insignificant. I will count it from now on and not treat it as a free pass. I think my consistency otherwise has lead to a drop finally showing up but I will wait to see how much of a bounce back I get tomorrow. Oh and I didn't eat my kids leftovers!

Have you tried Monkfruit sweetener? It natural, ZERO calorie and often touted as a better sweetener because of all its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It's definitely a little pricey but a little goes a long way. Good luck and Happy Friday!

@quiltingjaine I ordered breakfast omelet which did provide lower carbs, but I did drink the orange juice that came with it. I came home and logged it all. Wow! The carbs in that juice!!!!! Otherwise, it wasn't that bad. Now I have to pay the piper with a very low carb dinner. My snack will be sugar free jello and 14 almonds (if I need them). Hopefully I will be able to see the dietician soon because (without going full blown Keto), I have no idea how many carbs I should be eating for my diabetes but also to promote weight loss. If you, (or anyone else) has any ideas I would love to hear it. My online research seems to just be sending me in circles.2 -

1/22 168.2 Up a bit since yesterday. Last round I just let loose. Lot's of good things that shook up my routines and I gave in and let it get away from me. Surprisingly I ended the round down in pounds. I'll be happy with one pound down every 10 days. I am not in any rush to reach my goal weight--but I want to change my habits so that it doesn't creep back up.
1/23 168.6 rejoined OTF signed up for 8 classes a month but after going two days in a row I think I will get addicted again and want to increase.
1/24 167.0 Banged my toe last night and it is all swollen. I will get it looked at today and hopefully I will be able to do INFERNO at OTF on Thursday. It is a series of tread/row blocks and then the floor exercises.
1/25 168.4 I am wondering if this is due to going over on my sodium last night. I had a lot of soy sauce with my Mung bean sprouts. I had a lot of sodium for dinner tonight too. I think it might be worth tracking to see if there is a correlation between night time salt and scale gains.
1/26 168.4 So the morning after another high sodium night and my weight stayed the same. Tonight I stayed on the low side for sodium so we will see what the scale looks like tomorrow. My toe is feeling a bit better so hopefully tomorrow I will be back at the gym. I can get it into sneakers again.
1/27 169.0 hmmm so maybe salt isn't the problem. I did eat dinner later than usual last night and I also have been having a glass of milk with dinner the past three nights which is something I haven't done in a long time. I was just getting sick of water and without booze, milk is my preferred beverage--what can I say I'm a child of the 80s we drank milk with meals. It is a comfort beverage. So tonight, no milk. I worked out and feel really good. Tomorrow is going to be a whole day out and there will be booze. It was kind of what I was saving up for . I don't plan on too many smileys tomorrow. But I booked a morning class at OTF before the festivities so at least one smiley should happen.

1/22 161.4 I'm not at all surprised at my gain today. Yesterday didn't go at all to plan, we ended up eating out for lunch and dinner. I had a small chicken burrito bowl for lunch which was OK but they put too much creamy sauce on it. Then we went to an Indian restaurant for dinner, which is always so hard to find healthy choices. I went for a chicken shaslik (grilled chicken with veggies) and a small rice which I shared with my niece. I did have a couple of beers though and far too many poppadoms. It was a great day, we went bowling and to the arcade, I baked fairy cakes with my niece and played with her loads. I'm so besotted with both her and my tiny baby nephew! He's only a month old and is totally scrumptious!.... Is 42 too old to be trying for a baby? Arghh broody!
I have one child, my daughter is 19 and just about to fly the nest... My husband (37) has none and I fear he'll want them one day...
Will try to fast for most of the day and get a good walk in if there's time. My SIL is recovering from her C section so walking any distance is not possible for her. We'll have to see what time they go home and if there's any daylight left.
Using yesterday's weight (160.8) as my guide to set my goal for this week as today's weight isn't accurate, there's a lot of food still 'in transit'.
1/23 159.8 A relief to see my weight drop back down after the weekend! I fasted most of the day yesterday, until about 5pm then had a few snacks in the evening. I have to watch out for cravings sneaking back in, also the temptation to have a beer in the evening to relax. Back on diligent logging today after not being able to for the last 3 days. It feels good to be back in control. I must get out for a long walk today.
1/24 159.6 Stayed below calorie goal but got carried away with some 68 calorie per bag snacks made from chickpeas, too nice, I had 4! Busy day today, catching a flight to Portugal so no weigh in tomorrow and I'm going to pack food to bring with me. Back in the early hours of Thursday morning. However lots of flights are getting cancelled due to strikes so fingers crossed.

1/26 159.6 I'm glad to see my trip didn't cause a spike in my weight (so far, tomorrow may show different) I managed to make sensible choices on the whole, with a few treats. I went over my calories by about double but we did lots of walking. Back to normal today, although I have lots of sleep to catch up on.
1/27 158.6 Oo, nice! Didn't do much yesterday, just rest and recuperate with fasting most of the day. I'm feeling a bit stiff today so need to get some exercise in and some healthy food.
1/28 158.2 Went for a 2 hour walk and got a bit lost due to new fences being erected for development sites. Ended up scrambling through brambles and up muddy hills to find the path. Bit over calories as snacking got the better of me.

1/22 143.6 Trying to stick to a 'somewhat' intermittent fasting schedule. Eating the majority of my food before 2pm really seems to work well for me. I've been trying to get my husband on board with this too, but he's having a hard time mentally letting go of the dinnertime meal.
