@deepwoodslady this is going back in time a bit because I'm a procrastinator, but I finally used one of the mouse traps you recommended a while back and we got one on the first night! Set up 5 for today. This was triggered when it seemed that mice had made off with DH's wedding band--he found it in the back of a drawer in his basement shop surrounded by mouse poop and urine5

1/23: 121.6 - waiting for TOM to get here any minute. Have a dog walk and a treadmill run planned today. It’s chilly out there so not particularly excited about the dog walk 🥶 Happy Monday everyone!
1/24: 120.8 - still waiting for TOM. Was an utter insomniac last night but I'm trying not to focus on the lack of sleep (mind over matter?). Today I have plans for a dog walk and a Peloton ride, and chicken adobo with baby bok choy for dinner. Tonight I'm taking my dogs for a training consult with a company that uses e-collars for correction. I feel hesitant about it but also my dogs are so hard to walk and I'm tired of it. I want to improve our relationship since we're in this for the long haul.
1/25: 120.8 again. I'm fine with maintaining here for a while TBH. I have a feeling I'll have a whoosh loss if TOM ever gets here. Today I have plans for a 45-minute endurance run on the treadmill. It is really rainy outside so I doubt my poor pooches will get a walk. I don't think they love the rain much more than I do!
1/26: 119.8! There's TOM (finally - I was starting to worry when it was 3 days late! 2 babies is plenty for me) and a little whoosh. I did my 45-minute treadmill run yesterday and my legs are sore today. Think I'll take an active recovery day and try to focus on work since I got nothing done yesterday. I'll do some dog walking and/or yoga I think. I found a race to sign up for in May. It's a 10k at the New River Gorge in WV that goes rim to rim, so it's 1300 feet down and then 1300 feet up!

1/26 - 163.1 - I indulged in a small slice of my homemade strawberry swirl cheesecake (everything, including crust, is from scratch) after dinner. I was right at expected calories for Fitbit and under by 57 on MFP despite that splurge. It is lactose-heavy, though, so I'm not surprised at the little extra bloat, both visibly and on the scale. No workout today as I did 2 in a row already. Back at it tomorrow. Will be mindful about getting up and moving through the day, though. I have leftover cobb salad to finish up for lunch. Not sure dinner yet, but I should know by lunchtime and can adjust from there. Hoping to fast today and not need breakfast. Yesterday I was very nauseous and ate but hoping today I can push it a little further. Dinner was also later last night than it has been in a little while so I should be able to "tough it out" until lunch (and by "tough it out" I mean avoid the habit/boredom/mindless eating I'm used to while working. If I get nauseous or actually hungry, I'll eat)

Previous Day's Comments1/22 - Headed out of town in a bit and there's a chance we won't come back until tomorrow (bringing work things to work on the road as a precaution) which also means no weigh in until Tuesday at the earliest. I wanted to let you all know I'm still alive. BF's dad and brother weren't so bad, though they all got a little silly Friday night and I went to bed with some loud sleepy music to drown out the loud talking/laughing. They left yesterday around noon and I spent the day putting my house/routine back in order. Pups are getting along now, for 3 mornings now they've taken to play fighting for hours as soon as I let them out after waking up. It's been an hour now and I can still hear them going at it. I'm glad, though. Harley still isn't sure about bed and couch sharing, but she's getting better. I'm working to get back into routine myself, but travel will postpone a little bit of that. For the most part, I stuck to my habits, though.

1/24 - Not bad for not having weighed, tracked, and generally not checking in. Plus, TOM showed up on Saturday afternoon a little earlier than expected. And then travel, which not only lowers my water intake but also increases my eating out/unhealthy options. It's currently chilly, but a beautiful rainy morning. I did my workout to the sounds of rain on a metal roof. Journaled to the same sound. Just did a couple sun salutations under my porch overhang to thank Mother Nature for the rain as yesterday it was announced we were in a burn ban due to the dry conditions. I've taken to doing 3 iterations of sun salutation-forward fold-half fold-forward fold-sun salutation iterations a morning. It gets me focusing on my breath first thing, I always go to out on my back porch/deck (depending on weather) to get fresh air, and on clear days, I get a beautiful sunrise which always lifts my mood first thing. Despite missing my beautiful sunrise, it lifted my mood but that's due to the aforementioned dry conditions in the area being remedied. I went shopping and got myself the makings of a nice cobb salad I'll be able to munch on for at least 2 days this week, if not more. I also got the ingredients for making my own wontons/steamed dumplings which BF and I both like. Hoping this week will be a quick turnaround back into good habits after last week's upheaval. Also, it's good to be back here (: I've missed you all.
1/25 - Oh I'm so proud of that number! I ended up making a GIANT cobb salad yesterday and BF decided to be a smarty pants and say "I hope that's not for dinner! It looks good, but too many green things" and so we had taco salad for dinner bahahahah! Today I did my workout, as planned, and am all caught up. Rest day tomorrow. Workout Friday, my day off, and then vet visit with Smoke for more shots and follow up on surgery. Hopefully cleared to bathe and walk! Harley is so mad for stopping our evening routine and bugs me every night. Sorry girl, I miss it, too. Cobb salad again today for lunch. I did eat breakfast but kept portions fairly small and hope dinner can stay small, but filling, as well to avoid eating back all my exercise calories. I have the last of the cobb salad for tomorrow and plenty of leftover veg for more salads! Hopefully I can eat it all before it goes bad.

ON 8/29/2022: I was 134 LBS and had a 33” natural waist
MAINTENANCE 115-118 LBS (still trying to decide what I want my range to be). Lessons for maintenance: 1) exercise at least 30 minutes five {5} days a week 2) try to walk no less than 10,000 steps a day 3) If/when my weight creeps up (118-119 LBS) increase the incline on the treadmill and add a burst of running to routine 4) eat a low-calorie salad before eating dinner 5) limit fried & breaded foods 6) continue to add ice cubes to my 5 oz glass of wine 7) eat fish for dinner at least 2 times a week 8) eight to nine hours of sleep a day 9) Of the 60oz of water daily-drink 8oz of water a half hour before each meal 10) three (3) meals a day and 1-2 small snacks, nothing after dinner.
11) do not park my car close to the store I am going to.

Tomorrow I WILL have a healthy low calorie dinner (maybe?). -I may have figured out Maintenance??
@pezhed I think size 0 is a made-up size by some clothes manufacturers. There was a whole story a few years back in Time magazine. In the late 60's women's jeans were labeled and made by waist size (e.g. 27")-this was unfair to women who actually had hips. Over time manufacturers have added inches to the waistline of their jeans and given them labels like 2-4- or 1-3-. Now you have 0 and 00 and no longer are most "designer" jeans by a set inch size but by a waistline range. Plus most jeans are now not just made of denim but "stretchable" denim. FYI: My favorite outfit in my closet is a old 1980 John Roberts jumpsuit with a synched 27 1/2" high waist. It is labeled size 6! I am hoping to wear it on Feb. 2 to a banquet-we will see!

@refactored I don’t know how old your kids are but what I did when I joined WW in 1985 (kids were 12 and 14 but could have done this younger) was to have the girls take their plates to the sink and run water over them. It made the food inedible and it needed to go down the disposal not down Mom!3

@CamandJarvis Eating salad before it goes bad!! That’s my problem. DH seldom eats salad at home so how does 1 person eat the 3 heads of romaine that come in a package? I make wrapped “subs” and salads for my OMAD but it’s never enough!3

I knew it would be worse after the holidays and all! I’ve got a lot of work to do. I got my old treadmill back last night from the folks who bought my house 2 years ago. They saw me looking for one on facebook and even brought it to me. My cardiac rehab therapists are going to be very happy.
01/26 -196.8- (Trend weight 197.9) In two weeks they are changing my cardiac rehab days from Mon/Wed to Tue/Thur. I’m not real happy about that due to lots of previously made appointments coming up on those days. Also, the whole town seems to have senior discounts (30%) all over the place on Wednesdays only. I’ll be missing that for sure! Yesterday was a very good eating day. I would say great but I did try something not on my pre-logged food. It was small so I dropped off one of my snacks to make up for it and still had pretty good macros after all, (over by 5 on carbs tho). Nice to still see a loss. Got some exercise in during the rehab. Broke a sweat and my EKG showed good. I decided to look up my BMI future after reading the post from @antiderivative. I will finally (barely) dip into the overweight category at exactly 180 pounds. That is certainly another goal to achieve.

@musicsax Your throat sounds like my DH’s a few weeks ago. He couldn’t swallow for a couple of days because it felt like knives. Doctor gave him steroids and antibiotics since all tests were negative - strep, flu, COVID.2

I see a lot of people using the unprocessed foods goal. Any information would be appreciated. Something is not working for me. I am 62 going on 63 although walking and exercising the scale keeps going up.5

1/22 126.5 Fasted until 4:30 or 5. Got an Unwich at Jimmy John’s (#7) and could only eat half! I did have a glass of red wine and dumped the remaining 1/2 bottle down the drain!
1/23 125.5 Art Quilts, etc meeting this morning, picking up a friend for lun-ner this afternoon (Golden Corral?) Weight might jump up tomorrow.
1/24 127.0 As anticipated. Golden Corral for the first time in months. Not as good as I remembered it. 🤷♀️ Stayed to 25g TC limit but too much salt and not enough water and drank coffee later than usual so couldn’t get to sleep.
1/25 127.0 No TMI for a couple of days UGH Got my new Garmin and set it up yesterday afternoon. YAY! Calories, protein and fat all under; carbs over by 6 - all came from assorted low vegetables.
1/26 126.0 Good day yesterday- only 13g TC and over 5000 steps due to shopping. Today I have guild meeting an hour away and meal with a friend before repeat meeting. I’ll do my best to make that a good meal.9 -

1/22: 131.3 - I’m surprised it is not higher since I’ve had two late night binges in a row. I think the only saving grace calorie-wise is that on both days I ended up eating only one meal. Today I’ll go back to a more normal meal schedule.
1/23: 131 - My daughter stopped by on her way home (we’re about half-way on her 7+ hour drive) and took a bunch of the goodies that I had made for our dinner party with her.
1/24: 132.9 - Binged last night
1/25: 131.8 - Did better yesterday. I think it helped that all my meals were very vegetable-forward (less carbs)

I take ALOT of supplements twice a day and don't want all of that on an empty stomach. The discomfort, along with the weight jump (kept hoping it was just Na retention...), so cut back on dinner, moved it earlier, and large tea later.

@kayjay1960 I'm 61, female, & fighting the continuous weight creep up as well. All the exercising hasn't made a jot of difference in my weight over the years - hopefully it did help for cardiac health, muscle tone, mental health, etc. Since I had breast cancer a few years ago (along with other health issues), eating as chemical free as possible is important, so "unprocessed". Unprocessed choices also tend to be higher in fiber! I like to eat, and bumping up the fiber and protein, along with fats (avocado, nuts, EVOO), works best to get the message to my brain/stomach that it's full. Unprocessed is generally also lower in calories as well.5
