@Michieb125 Oh, how I'm ready to go camping! We have a small Aliner. Eventually we will trade up to something more like yours. The Aliner is more or less a tent with beds, but easy to set up. We always camped in tents until about 6 years ago. I had a break between jobs and we bought the camper and went on a tour of as many national parks as we could in a 7-week timeframe. It was so much fun. I'll be glad to retire, which is in the not too distant future.7

@joans1976 Snow in March! Wow! I hope that it's pretty at least.3

I should be in either Bimini or Key West right now. Over the winter we picked this weekend with friends to get away. The guys thought the girls were going to plan it, the girls thought the guys were going to do it…. And here I sit on a rainy weekend at home staring at 2 loads of laundry that need to be done, not to mention the spring g clean up that awaits outdoors. Ugh. I could totally use a getaway.
I need to lay off the Old Fashioneds a for a while. Went out last night and Thursday night, and each one was a double pour!!!! Back to sticking with my 1 glass of wine when I’m out.

@joans1976 enjoy your days off! Hope you recovered from overdoing it yesterday!4

Love the trailer pic! Lurking airstream photos is a guilty pleasure. So much creativity!
Happy Friday, all. AF so far this week. A couple times a drink sounded pretty good, but habits kicked in and waited for the weekend. Don't have anything social planned, hope to get some yardwork done. Not quite warm enough to plant some things, but past our last frost. We can at least put away greenhouse and start prepping beds.
I need to master those habits! Good for you!3 -
RockinRobyn672 wrote: »Thu 3/23: AF - We stopped at a bar last night during our walk on the boardwalk (DH loves to go bar hopping). I had a very Heineken 0.0 that the bar tender pulled from the ice. Being very cold made it extremely refreshing and tasty, plus it's 69 calories vs. the usual 200+ from the Hazy IPA I would normally order.
We're planning a long weekend soon; maybe a New York trip. After 35 years, the Phantom of the Opera is closing down in April. We may try to catch a show.

Woo hoo! So great you had a nice cold NA beer that has less calories. Phantom is closing? The end of an era!3 -
@Michieb125
Glacier National Park is sooo beautiful!!
And not too terribly far from me : - )
I will look forward to hear when you are heading this direction.3 -
I am Dawn, I live in South Eastern British Columbia.
I joined this thread in November of 2018, a daily drinker at the time
My primary goal with drinking less is weight loss.
My usual goal is 16-20 AF days for the month,
I had 16AF days for the shortened month of February.
I do this diary style, I normally post the next morning.
Sunday March 19 - AF - I plan to rack up more AF days this week. I have plans for the weekend including drinks. I will see if I can stay mostly AF during the weekdays.
Monday March 20 - 2 1/2 drinks. 2 would have been enough, yes, 1/2 went into the freezer. Very long day, I worked at one job and then worked out of town at another. I didn't even try to abstain. Planning AF for Tuesday.
Tuesday March 21 - AF - Working a split shift Wednesday with another job during my 2 hour break. No plan for AF or A Wednesday night as I type this Wednesday morning.
Wednesday March 22 - AF - I really really wanted drinks last night after a long workday. Had to do the 6 minute thing several times. As I type this the next morning I am very glad that I abstained. Planned drinks over the weekend.
Thursday March 23 - AF - Long day including working out of town. I knew that I would be having drinks out on Friday, so it was easier to stay AF than it would have been had I not had plans for Friday after work.
Friday March 24 - Drinks, out with a friend. It was a very nice time. No plans for A or AF for Saturday.
Rolling total: 12AF day out of 24 days.3 -
Yesterday, I had half a glass of watery frozen sangria with dinner at a nice Cuban restaurant. Other than that, no alcohol, no atarax, no delta 8 and I slept like absolute garbage. Still no alcohol in the house.

Hello everyone
I'm new to this thread, but not MFP. I'm comfortable mostly just lurking, but I've followed this thread for months wanting to join in and wondering if I'd be a good fit? I've followed everyone's personal stories , through the good and the bad, and find myself smiling and feeling so proud of everyone, and just hope I can get to a point where I can be proud of myself.
To just jump right in, so far this month, I have 16 AF days, and 9 A days for March.
It might seem like AF days are in the lead, but when I drink, I binge. I can and often go over the recommended daily/weekly allowance, and still "want it all". I have struggled for a while, repeatedly just not seemingly being able to stop, like that "switch" is well and truly broken..
Thank you all for listening, and tyvm to @MissMay for creating these threads, they are powerful and far reaching.10 -
Saturday - 3/25
@Fursian welcome and glad you are here! I lurked for awhile as well, but found once I jumped on the thread everyone was welcoming - no judgment for we are all here for the same reason. Less Alcohol (aka LA) and whatever that means to you personally. Your AF days are inspiring and you will find encouragement here.
@MissMay - you have been wonderful to keep this thread going for quite a long time! Thank
You.
@dawnbgethealthy I adore Victoria, B.C. Hope to visit greater areas. Your weather is perfect for gardening and want to hear what you plant this spring. Are you able to grow flowers year round? Friends have told us we must see Glacier so
making that long trek. I know it will be worth it!
@RockinRobyn672 - camping sure does get
us out into the great outdoors! National Parks are
truly wonderful.

Goals: No more than two glasses per A day
I had some unplanned A last night after wrestling with the thoughts beforehand. Then I got to the point where I decided I should not to be so hard on myself (progress not perfection right?)
I had two Brut champagnes while watching a late sunset and then a movie after. Went to bed not guilty. Drove home today and desire to be AF until next Thursday or Friday.
This LA isn’t always easy but I am learning a lot about myself so that makes it worth it.

@Fursian welcome and come and join us. This group has one thing in common and it's called spirit. We seek the positive and we lift ourselves up. I can't speak for the others, but my goal is to have the most healthy and happy life I can create for myself so that is why I am here.
@mfowler883 looks like you are on a roll and I wish you strength..you definitely have the power get through this.
Tomorrow I have a 3 hr hill walk planned after zero exercise for 1 week. No pain since Monday so hoping for a good outcome.
AF today and insomniac with a turbulent gut but I will not take anything for sleep and just put myself to bed now. I want to cry and whine so badly but I tell myself to shut up and be strong. I can't wimp out on myself.

10 AF so far this month - not the greatest but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. Gonna try to finish out March strong and quit letting work stress drive my decision making.4

AF yesterday. A local 5 Star Nutrition is closing and blowing out everything at 40% off so I got a few things including some "SleepOne" which is stuff like melatonin and things, I don't remember exactly what all is in it but nothing too crazy. Dose is three so I started with one and washed it down with hop water. I slept straight through the night for the first time since maybe January, I think.
I did grab a beer but I don't know if I'll drink it.
Welcome to the thread, @Fursian. Most of my life I was the same way - if I had a drink, I was gonna have ALL the drinks. I still struggle sometimes, and if I have a single Frito I will devour the whole bag.

Hello My "LA" friends! Happy March! I am SO ready for spring! My goal is 16 AF days minimum in a month. I'm drinking less for weight loss and the additional health benefits. I usually post the next morning.
Sat 3/25: Drinks (2) - It was a beautiful day and in the upper 70s, finally! I made it 30 miles on my road bike! Although it's still not even close to normal, my surgery foot held up pretty well. I had two glasses of chardonnay with dinner and a St. Pauli Girl NA later at home where we binge-watched a new favorite series - Tulsa King.
The plan for today is AF.

@Womona I hope you plan and make that trip to Bimini or Key West soon! And I hear you on where you'd rather be. I also have laundry, house cleaning and some work catch-up to do today and it's another beautiful day. I'm going to try to squeeze in some time outside.5

@Micieb125
Yes, Victoria and Vancouver Island are beautiful, especially Tofino and Ucluelet.
I am about 12 or more hours away from there including a $100 Ferry ride from Vancouver. (I usually just fly when going there to visit friends)
I live in the SE corner of BC, almost to Alberta. I am about 40 minutes away from Idaho and about an hour 20 to Eureka Montana.
Very excited to hear about your trips : - )3 -

Saturday March 25 - Drinks, Prosecco. Planned AF for Sunday, and seeing that we are into the last week of the month will need to get 3 more AF days in addition to that. Busy week ahead, which is sometimes my trigger - coming home from a very long workday.
