I am a 5'3" retiree living in upstate NY.
I started tracking again with MFP in January 2022.
My final goal weight is 145.

Starting weight as of 1/3/22: 230 lbs

    Apr 28: 159.6
    May 5: 158.2
    May 12: 158.4
    May 19: 158.6
    May 26: 158.4
    June 2: 159.3
    June8: 156.7
    June 16: 158.4
    June 25: 158.3
    June 30: 157.4
    July 7: 157.3
    July 14: 156.2

    Challenge Goal: 5 lbs (154.6)
    Challenge Actual: 3.4 (156.2)

I was very excited to see over a pound lost this week. The only change I made was to take a recovery day off from exercising. Seems counterintuitive but I suspect I need 1-2 recovery days per week.

Another 1.2 lbs and I'll be within 10 lbs of goal!

    Have a great week!

07/01-197.8-(Trend Weight: 197.4)- Today I am celebrating my son’s 27th birthday and my oldest grandson’s 17th birthday who were born on the same day. There will be food that is out-of-plan so the key will be portion control. A new month always feels so hopeful. I’m starting with a small drop on the scale which feels even better. Let’s make July a banner month, my friends! Good luck to everyone on your individual goals. Happy Canada Day to our Canadian Friends.

07/04-195.4-(Trend Weight: 197.2)- BBQ today so I will likely eat out of plan. I’ll watch quantity. I’ve already made some SF Jello with SF whipped cream so I’ll be okay on the dessert front. However, I WILL be adding some festive red & blue sprinkles on top!

07/11-197.8-(Trend Weight: 196.6)- I traveled yesterday so this is not likely a true weight. It reflects quite an overnight jump. My trendweight shows that I have been doing pretty good this week. Now it’s back to basics and get this number back down. Much of it is likely water retention weight.

07/18-198.4-(Trend Weight: 197.3)- I’m really sucking at this right now. I am way above starting weight and the challenge is almost over. This month has been filled with holidays and celebrations that have got the best of me. I’m disgusted with myself right now. Also, summer is slipping away and I have not taken the advantage of it as I dreamed I would all winter. It is horrible how I have worked so hard on so many many days. Intermittent fasting, shopping properly, prep cooking and freezing meals, going without the foods I am craving, going to bed hungry, exercising and doing strength training until I can barely lift my arms, documenting every bite, researching online new ideas, methods, recipes, reading my self-help weight-loss book(s), only to gain nearly every week. All over a meal or a moment of weakness here and there. That meal, that celebration dessert is just not worth it! It’s time to roll up my sleeves!

Happy to see a loss this week. I didn't weigh myself last week as I was really busy working extra at work with only one day off. I didn't get to work out but have been making up for it this week with extra time at the gym. Hoping the losses continue and can make it to goal by Fall.

Spending a few days in Lake Placid with the grandsons this week. I've definitely been eating off plan but doing a lot of walking and still eating much less than I would have 2 years ago. Missing my normal aerobic workouts though.

We took the gondola to the top of little Whiteface Mountain today. A little scary but the view was worth it.

Heading home tomorrow then I'll get back on track.

We are enjoying hiking and playing with the steam engines.
The middle granddaughter Zoe, 12 yrs old, when ask how much fun the trains are said 9 out of 10. So that’s a big thumbs up.

Yesterday, we hiked around Crater Lake, a volcanic basin. Fabulous day with 360 degree views of the Cascade Mountain range.

@GinLee61 Lake Placid with family so beautiful 👍

My husband and I have been exercising and cooking at home. Doctors orders- she said you must cook at home and walk every day. I have not weighed in the last week but will soon. I always remember after I eat breakfast and then I think "tomorrow I will weigh in."

My goal this summer is to exercise- get my body moving which will help me feel less anxious or depressed.

We have been swimming a lot- laps in the city pool. We walk or bike every day. We've gone to Planet Fitness several times as well- get those muscles toned. I am feeling so much better right now than two months ago.

Ok, let's make these last few days great!

Hello to all! I was here awhile ago and switched over to WW...actually, I've switched back and forth a couple of times! lol Anyhoo I was recently diagnosed as being pre-diabetic which shocked me since I had lost 20lbs and walk everyday on the treadmill and I've got about 15lbs to go. So back to MFP as I like that you can see your carbs, sugar, etc! I was surprised to see a lot of "sugar free" snacks are extremely high in carbs so now I think I have figured out why the scale is not going down...too many carbs! At 55 you really have to dig deep and analyze everything you consume! I want to congratulate everyone for sharing and tracking!! I look forward to joining you all on August 1!! Cheers till then! Disappointed that I ended up losing less than a pound for this round of the challenge. Vacation plus numerous events and outings took their toll. Frankly, I'm happy to have lost anything at all. Looking forward to the next round, hope to see you all there.

    Have a great week!

    07/18-198.4-(Trend Weight: 197.3)-

07/25-194.0-(Trend Weight: 196.2)- I’ve really worked hard at this because my weight started creeping up. I’ve focused on pre-logging my food and being more prepared. I’ve also been working on increasing my water and getting at least 20 minutes of fitness in per day rotating which type so I can’t use major soreness as an excuse. I’ve also been working on some strength training. It’s minimal but the goal is to keep me stronger and flexible as I age. I’m hoping to continue the progress. I want to get as far away as possible from the 200’s and I need to hit the 180’s to do that. The 190’s are too close for comfort. I’m still above starting weight, and over 15 pounds above my goal, but the things I am trying to do should carry me a long way and put me in a much better position for the next round.

07/31-193.8-(Trend Weight: 195.4)- I did okay in July, nearly made July goal, however, I am up 1.2 lbs overall from the start of the challenge. That’s a damn shame when losing weight is usually so much easier in the good weather such as spring and summer. I’ll simmer in my disappointment all evening, but I’ll square my shoulders and be ready for the new challenge tomorrow. See you there!
