Round 227
6/21 217.2. Thus continues the mysterious weight gain. I looked leaner in the mirror at yoga today, so pffft to the scale. Today is Summer Solstice & I had planned a 21 day fast. I think I have talked myself out of it since I am going through enough although it might be a good time to control something in my life. I guess I will see tomorrow lol
6/22 216.2. I decided not to fast. I feel it would add too much additional stress at this time. While I am not eating my feelings, I do need sleep & I also need to exercise. The days that I exercise I feel the fog lifting so I need to keep at it. Yesterday I took a 1hr sunrise walk & did 45 minutes of sun salutations before my 1 hour yoga class. It was supposed to be an easy Yin class, but it was not. I am sore today but will enjoy my morning walk & yoga.
6/23 215.8. I know a whoosh will happen any minute. My skin is lumpy in areas that I carry fat. I just have to be patient & resist the urge to go off track. My emotional brain is telling me to be kind to myself, splurge, indulge in comfort food, do some pampering. I know my ultimate goal is to lose weight & wear a size 6/8 again. I have lost my sense of urgency & I won’t punish myself & cancel my February cruise, but I am going to eat healthy & indulge in hot yoga & other forms of self care that will improve the way I feel more than any treat food will.
6/24 DNW
6/25 217.2
6/26 216.8 I am still working through my bio father discovery. My husband is very supportive. I bought a 3 month unlimited hot yoga pass because that helps me. I am also joining a women’s walking group. I tried to make it there this morning but it started to rain hard. I will be meeting my new half siblings in 3 weeks if all goes well. I haven’t decided if I will meet my bio father. I will ask him if he is interested in meeting me but the siblings are very excited. I find that I look like hell. I don’t know if it is depression or shock or all in my head, but hopefully that improves in the next little bit.
6/27 215.8
6/28 216.2 I am basically maintaining this whole round, but that’s ok, it shows I am not using food or wine to mask & cope. I feel today that I am crawling out of the shock. I am happy about that, I popped into work to grab stuff to work at home after hot yoga. Life will get back to normal. I am glad I have the luxury & that I am taking the time to do the work needed to heal.

Round 224: 164.0 lbs (+0.6)
Round 225: 162.5 lbs (-1.5)
Round 226: 161.4 lbs (-1.1)
I don't usually set a weight as a goal for these challenges but this time I will make an exception - I will aim for the 150s by the end of this round. I will stay within my calorie limits and get at least 22 active minutes per day.
Round 227 SW: 161.4 lbs
6/21: 160.5 lbs
TOM arrived and I usually get a whoosh when it starts.
6/22: 159.8 lbs
I am still losing bloat from TOM. From past experience I usually bounce around a new low weight for a while before my trend weight catches up. My trend weight is currently 161.8 lbs.
6/23: 160.5 lbs
6/24: 159.8 lbs
6/25: 160.1 lbs (trend 161.2)
Bouncing around as I predicted. My trend weight is still heading down and is now 161.2 lbs.
6/26: 160.3 lbs (trend 160.9)
I think I will also start tracking my trend weight. I use the Android app Libra to calculate it and I think it is just a running average of the last 7 days. So if my weight pops up but my trend weight is down then I know I am still in the right track. It's going to be a stressful week at work this week so my goal will be to try not to comfort eat.
6/27: 158.7 lbs (trend 160.7)
Stressing the pounds away is probably not healthy but at least I am not comfort eating so far.
6/28: 158.5 lbs (trend 160.5)

Hi, I’m Amanda, almost 50, wicked short 4’11” from New England.

2nd goal for mid-August.
Appreciate all your support.

Round 227 SW: 121.0
Round 227 GW: 118.0
6/21: DNW
6/22: 121.0 ⬆️Had the best time on my vacation/visit family trip.
It wasn’t about fitting in everything/seeing all the sights: it was a slower time for me to do what I enjoy and to see family that I haven’t seen in almost 10 years.
I was about 115 the morning of my flight.
Today is 121, so bloated and gained 6 pounds, which I will get rid of, plus a few more for my August birthday goal.
6/23 – 118.8 ⬇️ debloated 2.2#
Crossfit Farming!
6/24 – 118.0 ⬇️
Went to my boss’s funeral, my amazing boss of 16 years.
His wife’s eulogy reminded us all to go out there and enjoy life. That’s what I intend to do!
6/25 – 115.0 ⬇️
So I “lost” the 6# that I “gained” on my vacation (eating a lot of carbs/noodles/bread). My body is THIS sensitive to carbs.
Now that clothes are fitting better, I need to incorporate more weight training to manage all the flab.
But it’s been SOOOOOO humid here that all I want to do is sit in front of an air conditioner (I hate heat and stickiness).
6/26 – 115.4 ⬆️
Getting back to it!
After 4.5 months of daily movement, I took a few days off.
But I'm coming back, baby!
Need to increase the Hip Thrust weight next time!!
6/27 – 114.6 ⬇️
This is about the weight I like being at for my build/height.
I don’t know how realistic I can be about losing another 5# AND maintaining that.
BUT I would like to see how I’ll be when I get there (haven’t been lower than 112# (in 2020) since hitting puberty)
6/28 – 114.8 ⬆️
I’ve got to stop eating peanuts and cashews. They’re so calorie-dense food that use up so much of my calories for the day.
There are so much food that I just want to eat; I’m not hungry though.

65 yr young F, 5ft 4 Round 227 (my 158th). Thank you @quiltingjaine for the new round.
Goal this round is yet again the same as last; to get back under and stay under 139. Really try to stay on track. After all I am what I eat in more ways than one, my whole demeanour is totally different when I am happy with myself!!Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, it’s taken me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back to around 134. A healthy lifestyle must be a permanent way of life.SW Round 227 140.4

6/21 140.4 – a successful food day yesterday, not quite in calories or macros due to heavy prolonged periods of rain during the times when I normally walk to and from work & home for lunch – had to use the car ☹. Now to make the 10 days count. DD taking me out for afternoon tea today as a belated birthday treat, going to enjoy it but NOT use it as a catalyst to start a binge.
6/22 140.6 – 10.1 mils walked. Kept to my word, enjoyed the day with DD, a delicious lunch and walking before and after, did not let that prompt a binge so excess calories restricted to a sensible limit!
6/23 141 – calories & macros over as no structured walking due to child minding little DGS.
6/24 139.8 – at last back below 140! 11.69 miles yesterday, some of which were ‘dancing miles’ ! Only sat 2 dances out between 8 & 10pm, admittedly some were quite slow (rumba, waltz), but many others very quick (jive, quickstep, cha cha cha, samba). 60% exercise calories eaten back & all macros in green.
6/25 141 – sigh! 11 miles walked yesterday & weeding, deadheading and general garden tirying for a good hour and a half, 75%exercise calories eaten back, 29g carbs over.
6/26 140.4 – travelled almost 2 hours each way up to Sheffield to support DS in his first ever running event: a 20K timed staged race, power walked across city after watching him start to cheer him on halfway and then back to see him finish – those of you who know the city will also know how steep the hills are there, so half of those 8.72 miles walked were up steep & prolonged hills !! It was a challenge to get to both midway stage & then finish !! So proud of him finishing in 1 hour 50 and he had even more hills to run up than we walked!!
6/27 140.4 – 10.33 miles walked yesterday, food not good, I keep mindlessly eating ☹. Really need to stop this. Just had a reminder from travel company that our holiday to Menorca is in 75 days, if I don’t crack on I’ll be needing to purchase a bigger size in holiday clothes and I do not want to do that. So, 75 days, 7 and a half rounds at a pound per round should easily get me to where I want to be, only I can do it, I’ve done it before so I can do it again if I knuckle down otherwise before I know it I be up in the 150’s. Cuz that’s how weight just keeps creeping up on one !!! Day 1 starts today, food logged, not going to veer from that today!
6/28 139.8 – 10.88 miles walked, 20% exercise calories eaten back. Feeling better with myself, need to keep this going!
6/29 139.2 - No structured walking, very busy day; supermarket shopping, met DSs (3) at a garden centre and had lunch there. Very disappointed with menu, not much lower calorie, lowest was honey roast ham baguette with a side salad, I opted for no coleslaw and extra salad (530 calories in total). We all went on to donate blood, but two of us had too low iron to donate!! We had both been taking daily iron supplements for a couple of weeks beforehand ☹. Planted out all my purchases before preparing dinner. Was 268 calories & 88 carbs over, but more importantly didn’t go off plan.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

Round 227
6/29 216.8. I am ready to get back at it. I have the exercise part but will now focus on food. I can easily lose 5-10lbs before I meet my new half siblings, so that’s what I’m gonna do’

61 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).
SW WW Sept 29, 2001 - 168.8 (initially lost 29.8, became staff, then weight up and down 18 years with low of 126.8)
SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress took off another 2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress became gain)

GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
6/21 (mass) – 124.8 (Renpho 124.6) Back to middle of my range, which is good. Kitties had their wt checks this morning and chubby cat is up and skinny cat is down. Wrong direction for each of them. I did get on the IC4 yesterday. Only 30 minutes, BUT I got on it. I have to remember that I have these options in the house and need to take advantage of them. Today is time again with my parents. Medical runs with my father. Tomorrow is also my parents. Legal runs with them both.
6/22 (mass) – 124.4 (Renpho 124.4) Good new. Tracking good yesterday. Pathetic 15 minutes on the IC4, but that is more than zero exercise that today may bring. Today is picking up my parents, long drive to lawyer. Let them address their needs. Get them home. Return to my condo and pack and clean to go to maine. Walk the cats, then drive a half hour to my daughter’s for a family celebration of my MIL’s 84 birthday. Head back to the condo again. Finish packing and loading car. Drive to maine, unpack and settle in. Nothing bad in it, just busy-ness.
6/23 (maine) – 123.6 Wishing I had brought the Renpho travel scale with me to cross check. Number seems too low to be logical. Yesterday had been a wild day, small breakfast, then after dropping home my parents (which included medical drama to, from and during the legal meeting) I snagged one of their chocolate bars for lunch. Getting home, I saw the now hard remains of the melted chocolate from cooking for the birthday party. I proceeded to eat all that. Then had Chinese food at the party (controlled but not tracked), and then triffle, which was unfortunately two small servings. No exercise yesterday. Ironically, I was starving at 10 PM last night. Anyhow, the numbers will shake out and show the reality with time. Good or bad. Note: the only other time I have seen "surprise" 123.X numbers were on my scale in maine as well.
6/24 (maine) – 125.0 Yup, scale works fine. :P Diet was great yesterday, and then it wasn’t. Simple, straightforward binge behavior. BUT I did track it all. Was over my target (which is still technically below maintenance) by 1400 calories. Lots and Lots of carbs. Going to pretrack today. Hopefully, I will also convince myself to do exercise. Lately, it is raining like 5 or 6 out of 7 days. This is NOT normal for here and nor normal temps for this time of year. It’s becoming and excuse. Not good.
6/25 (maine) – 126.2 Ok, so posting later than usual this morning. I did weigh first thing, but wanted to get myself together before posting. Need to break my new habits, as yesterday was bad …. Again. Today, I weighed even though I did not want to. I got outside and walked/ran 6 miles in 78 minutes. I then used the mfp recipe builder to calculate the nutritional info on tonight’s recipes, and then tracked it. We’re entertaining tonight, and I am doing new recipes. Only after all that am I posting to you all. Today looks like a proper day! Yay!
6/26 (maine) – 126.4 Calories were good yesterday, and nice on exercise. I am guessing scale reflects the previous days of bad behavior.
6/27 (maine) – 124.6 Even though I started my day with leftover dessert (from the entertaining) for breakfast, I regrouped. We were then on the road all day and hubby needed lunch while driving, so it was fast food. Google quickly told me low cal options at McDonalds, so 4 pk of nuggets with hot mustard it was. Day ended with photography classes at Apple store to start learning how to better use our iphones. Dinner was in food court. Google to the rescue again. Chose panda express, medium entrée (no sides) of Kung Pow Chicken. Yes, MFP ended up having each of these foods to track, but sorting out selections was easiest through various websites on the internet. Glad to be getting back to normal AKA better behavior. Today is a rainy day movie…… don’t worry, I’ve got this one.
6/28 (mass) – 124.0 (Renpho 123.8) Couple days on track and numbers come back down. I am “maintaining” but not by eating identically every day. Maybe that is ok and “normal”. It least I am not responding to those repeated bad days by giving in. I’m actually seeing this as hopeful. Key for me (at this point) is remaining aware, regardless of good or bad, of ones choices in food and exercise, along with consistent check in with the scale.
6/29 (mass) – 125.6 (Renpho 125.2) Yes, I got out of line late last night. But tracked it all, got up this morning at 5:45 and headed out for a walk at 6:30. Stepped on scale after returning 124.8 (Renpho 124.2). Interesting to see because I don’t think I sweated at all.

6/29 - 152.7 - *Insert Elmer Fudd voice* "Be vewy vewy quiet. I'm hunting goals, hahahah" But really, no sudden movements! I'm perfectly content with this number and I don't want to do anything to increase it. Today is about to be incredibly stressful work-wise, I can tell based on how it's starting. And I have no ideas on food which could be a recipe for disaster (read: stress eating). I think I have spinach so I'll try to find something to use that up before it goes bad (if its not already). Rant ahead:I hate that people assume that I'm at their beck and call with work and try to call me at 8-9pm to fix an issue at work. I'm in bed, *kitten* off. I'll deal with it tomorrow as you won't approve overtime for me to be working right now anyway. Plus, it's not even a high priority project -- my other 4 projects are higher priority according to the company as they're bringing in more money and bigger clients we want to come back to us. But they seem to think this is the only project I have or it should be the highest priority and I should neglect everything else. Ugh. They have enough knowledge to spot the issue and man-splain it and then have the time to type out step-by-step instructions on how I should fix it. Yet they won't fix it, I have to despite the fact that I'm behind on about 4 other tasks they've done the same exact thing to me and expect me to do. How does this even make sense? And you wonder why the project is behind schedule? You sit and tell everyone what to do without bothering to do anything to help move things along knowing I have about 2 weeks worth of work to do you're expecting done in an hour. NOT INCLUDING the other 4 projects I have that require even MORE work than this one. I'm very irritated...Rant over, I feel a tad bit better now. Beats stress-crying which is what I want to do and it's not even 8am yet. I'm happy today is my Friday and once I'm off, I'm staying off until Monday.

Previous Day's Comments6/21 - Some bloat has been banished. Still no TOM so likely not the hormonal bloat that has been banished. At least that means my efforts to re-hydrate are not in vain! I did splurge on a couple mojitos yesterday before realizing just how many calories/sugar are in them! Oof. I'll stick to vodka+soda+lime wedge from now on if I decide to drink (or wine with dinner). Not sure today's dinner but it's something related to chicken as that's out to thaw haha I'm likely to repeat yesterday's lunch with the last of the leftover chicken from Sunday mixed with some frozen steamable veggies from the deep freeze I found. I'm feeling pretty good about hitting all my habit goals today, I hope everyone else feels just as good about theirs!
6/22 - TOM dropped some bloat but the garlic salt from dinner last night has me feeling more bloated than I was before! Hopefully it'll drop off here soon. Got a walk with the pups this morning before it got awful hot. Been moving quite a bit all morning between work, running a grocery errand for dinner and prepping dinner (marinating chicken). Luckily it's a fairly slow day for work. Unsure if Thirsty Thursday is happening but I hope not. I have no room in my calorie budget for anything else and I don't want the temptation. It's so easy to mindless snack on whatever people have ordered for the table. SD is sick so I made us both an herbal tea to help fight whatever it is off. FamWife started feeling it the last couple days of vacation and SD was the unlucky one to get it. Hopefully I can avoid it!
6/23 - I overate at dinner and was nearly 200 calories over goal which put me about maintenance. I had completely forgotten to log the rice portion of dinner until after dinner (I almost forgot to make the rice, too!). By the time I was done cleaning the kitchen after, I felt so heavy and my stomach was starting to hurt. I knew I should've slowed down eating and as I finished the last few bites, I KNEW I shouldn't still be eating. But I told myself it's only a couple more bites, I might as well finish. And this is the mindset that got me where I am now. I need to fix that quickly. I'm recognizing it and calling it out to you lovelies to keep myself accountable. I can't change the past, but I can start now to help change the future into something I'm happy about. On a happier note, I got a nice walk in with the pups this morning and it wasn't too terribly hot. I need to start running but I feel awful that my only time to run (I can't run for at least 3-4 hours after last eating without getting sick so morning before food is about it for me) is currently the only time it is cool enough to walk the pups. I may have to alternate - if I run Mon-Wed-Fri, walk them Tues-Thurs or vice versa and add in some indoor work like rowing or spinning. I'll brainstorm this weekend.
6/24 - DNP
6/25 - DNP
6/26 - Busy busy busy weekend, barely had time to journal and no time to hop on my computer to check in here. Lots of manual labor in triple-digit temperatures. I'm worn out. I did manage to take a very nice walk with the pups this morning, though, despite being so tired. Hopefully I'll be good by tomorrow as I plan to run. Also planning a run on Thursday. I'll walk the dogs Wednesday and Friday in the mornings and work on body weight strength or bike/rower to start rebuilding my workout routine. I have leftover ground beef and refried beans from dinner last night (burritos) so I'll try to make up something with that for lunch with a side of frozen veg. Otherwise, I'm unsure of all other meals. Will try to stay active and moving through the day to hit 10k steps and meet calorie goal.
6/27 - Stupid sodium... Dinner was spaghetti with homemade garlic bread. Garlic salt on the noodles. Garlic salt in the meat. Sodium in the canned sauce. Garlic salt on the bread. And I've already ranted enough about garlic salt here and the bloating it causes me. I was over about 150 calories yesterday due to the carb overload for dinner so still in deficit but not ideal. Hoping today is better. It's Taco Tuesday, though, and we had burritos Sunday so I'm guessing today is one of the heavier meals on rotation. I'll pre-log enchiladas (the most calorie dense) and adjust from there. I ran with both dogs this morning. A short 1.14 miles to the stop sign and back as I don't ever run with both dogs (they're a handful together) and I don't want to go on the main roads with them just yet. I always hated running but it felt good to get back to it today. Might I be turning into a runner?! Kettlebell workout (via Nerd Fitness Journey) and a walk with the dogs is scheduled for tomorrow. Plenty of water today to flush the sodium bloat and re-hydrate. Heat warnings are kicking my behind and I usually love the heat!
6/28 - Oh gosh, can I bring this back around into 152.x in the next couple of days to hit goal?! Some bloating is gone. I imagine some of this is water retention from working out/manual labor (glycogen stores) as I've been very tender lately. Today I walked the dogs and then completed my first round of NF Journey kettlebell workout. It was rather easy (10x deadlifts, farmers walk 30sec, and 10x 2-hand bicep curls for 3 rounds) but I know I'll be sore, at least in the arms, tomorrow. I also knocked out 30 second plank, 10 knee pushups, and 10 squats for my Finch app (which only requests 10s, 5x and 5x respectively but I make it a bit more challenging). Now to move through the day to hit my 10k steps goal! No clue on dinner but lunch will be some leftover street tacos which I will pre-log now.

6/29-162–The day before, I had salty, buttery popcorn and lots of it. Moved and spread the shredded wood and sweat like a dog. The center of our driveway looks better. The wood is from farmers removing almond orchards, which they shred and incorporate it back into the soil, so the wood is free. We are putting a layer of that and later will top it off with a layer of mini bark. Otherwise we would have had to have all mini bark delivered and that would have been expensive. DH was waiting for the landscaper to bring a guy to spread the wood, and I told him that I could do that! Well, it’s kicking my rear, but it’s getting done.9 -

Thank you all for being back for another round to share the accountability! This month has not been stellar for me. I've been maintaining in a 165-167 range for a few weeks now...which I suppose is better than it heading all up...but my goal is to maintain at about 20lbs lighter than this. So much life going on and not much routine which really messes me up. I would like to get consistently into the 164s this round to show some progress.
Female - 51yrs - 5'5"
Goal weight - to hang out somewhere 145-150
R226 End Weight 6/20 - 166.6 - which was a 1lb gain for the round
6/21 - 165.8 - yesterday we did our dog walk down by the lake where it was cooler, got in a good 5k towards our challenge goal for the Canadian Cancer Society...we're at 45/50km for the month so we should meet our goal by the end of the week...if not tomorrow. I'd like to hit 55km though as I raised $550 so 1km for every $10 sounds like a reasonable target. It's a hot one today and I didn't get an early start to say the least so it will be a shorter walk on the shady side of the street.
6/22 - 166.0 - Sigh.....walked a lot yesterday but didn't manage the calorie intake very well. Boys had their school athletic banquet last night so hubby and I walked to a local spot for dinner...I had the rice noodle special (the owner and chef of this place is from the Philippines and her noodles are so good) so I'm feeling some sodium bloat today.
6/23 - 166.8 - wrong direction. I really need to get things back on track. I have been so lazy with tracking and logging calories and I'm not making healthy choices. I think the only thing that's keeping the scale numbers from being even higher is that I'm maintaining a pretty robust activity level.
6/24 - 166.2
6/25 - DNW - Overslept and rushed out yesterday to drive up for work...forgot to post and pack the scale for my overnight at mom and dads. I was going to go our for a kayak after dinner last night but it the weather was iffy and I hate getting caught out on the river...it had stormed earlier so that makes me nervous.
6/26 - 166.6 - Still in that 165-167 range...been a month now...I guess it's better than maintaining at 188-190 which is where I started. Beginning to reconsider my summer strategy, we've got a trip in less than 2 weeks, I'll be mainly living with my parents, and lots of events booked. I maybe need to consider just trying to maintain where I am for a couple of months, which is still good progress, and then hop back into pound shedding mode again when we're back to easier routines in September. I may still lose a few, hopefully, but it will be a lot less stressful and disappointing if I reset my expectations for the next two months.
6/27 - 164.6 - well I don't know where that drop came from....except for possibly dehydration. Not counting on it sticking but who knows...I'll take it if it does. Heavy rains the last few days so walking hasn't been a great option for activity. We got SOAKED yesterday when I left during a break in the rain, we made it around the corner and 5 houses and it just poured, I was ringing out my socks after a barely 4 minute walk. Glad we finished our 50km challenge last week as it would have been tricky to get those last few in this week.
6/28 - 165.8 - knew it wouldn't stick, I was definitely dehydrated. Got my steps in at the mall yesterday, boys needed new shoes...and a short walk in the afternoon with the dog during a break in the rain. Not sure how our morning walk will go today, the wildfire smoke is pretty bad here and we have air quality warnings through the day, maybe into tomorrow.
6/29 - 165.2 - I'm ok with this, yesterday was an ok day Air looks a better this morning, hope the return of the air quality warning in the forcast for today holds off....Heading to Toronto for dinner and Tears for Fears. It's an outdoor concert venue so there's a possibility they would cancel if the air is too bad.

I’m making some progress against the encroahments with my 3-hour weed & grass pulling workouts. Whew! I make it all bearable by thinking of the calories burning and muscles building. 😁 It does make me hungry, but I’m mostly sticking to the plan. All good.

Other than a piece of apple pie a friend brought over, yesterday was perfect. I did lots of yard work and even blocked a lace wrap I finished knitting a few months ago (pic below — color doesn’t show well, but it’s a dark brownish purple). I’m planning a workout this morning of moving a few plants that are in the wrong spots and not thriving. It’s not supposed to be so hot today, so that’s a relief. 90F yesterday, but forecast high today is 74. Sounds good! Enjoy your day, all!

Weird. I remember writing a post yesterday, but I can’t find it. I probably hit Done instead of post. Oh well! Happy Saturday!
6/25 - 185
Aaack! Salt and, let’s be honest, too much blankety blank food. I’m beginning to think I should go to bed at 9 p.m. before I start snacking! I’ll try to do better today, and tomorrow and tomorrow and… With all the yard work I’m doing, if I didn’t snack I’d be skinny by now. Sigh.
6/26 - 184
Not a great number, but better than yesterday! I’m making a tomato galette with feta and olives for dinner (DH’s request) — yummy, and if I skip most of the crust, not bad on calories.
6/27 - 183
Oh, good! At least there’s that! I could not get to sleep last night — kept thinking about my upcoming cataract surgeries and, on a more pleasant note, the book I’m working on and knitting projects. I finally nodded off around 6, up at 7. I feel really woozy and faintly headachy. I was planning a garden work day, but between the way I feel and the air quality alert, I think not. I stepped outside a while ago and it’s foggy with a distinct smell of smoke as the fog grabs onto the wildfire smoke. Not nice at all. I’ll have to walk the pup at some point, but it will be a short walk. Then I think I’ll go back to bed.
6/28 - 182.8
We have another air quality alert day, with particulate matter in the mid-unhealthy zone right now. How’s everyone else doing in the smokey areas?
6/29 - 182.8
Another smoke-gloomy morning. Mostly staying inside, which makes it hard to reduce energy in a big, rambunctious puppy! Stay safe, everyone.

Just a little blah, blah, blah - To all who are tired of deciding what’s for dinner - I had no idea there were so many of us! DH will make himself a wrap - flour tortilla, cheese and deli meat - anytime I fast or don’t make a suggestion so he won’t starve. LOL I would be happy to eat hamburgers - no bun every day. There are a couple of lower carb casseroles I make that he really likes - both involve ground beef. 😁6

We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for over 6 years with amazing results!
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.
We are unstoppable not because we do not have failures but because we continue on despite them. - paraphrase of original quote by Beau Taplin
Up and down - just riding the waves of life. 🌊 🏄♀️ (My new mantra-3/19/22)

SW Round 227 127.5
6/21 128.0
6/22 129.0 I forgot there was going to be community bingo last night. The “meal” was fried chicken, sweet coleslaw (🤮) and cookies.
6/23 129.0 Fasted 21.5 hours yesterday. Doing that again today but eating earlier to try to get back on MY schedule. Tomorrow is DGGS’s first birthday party - he’ll be 1 on Sunday. Time sure does fly!
6/24 128.5 I made some fat bombs last night so I can have a “splurge” now and then or satisfy that “I want something but don’t know what” evenings. “greenandketo” has lots of recipes. My total carbs were 8g and I was below my fat macro.
6/25 129.0 It’s all good. Baby’s birthday party in the park was warm (95*F) but DGD (mom) did a wonderful job with everything. I avoided all foods except one large chocolate chip cookie. I didn’t have enough water - it was available but I didn’t drink it.
6/26 129.0 I’m beginning to doubt my scale. It says the cat has gained a pound since I have been feeding him less and weighing with and without my Birks and pj’s made no difference in my weight. Well, just keep on keeping on! Just had a lovely TMI 😂😂
6/27 128.0 Surprise birthday for one of the ladies in my art quilt group. She is 90 and a real inspiration. I ate a few crumbs of Nothing Bundt Cake and a lot of cream cheese frosting! It didn’t taste anywhere as good as it used to.
6/28 128.5 We got Chinese take out later than I wanted to eat. DH wasn’t feeling great and was grumpy. I ate about 1/4th of my entree and 3 bites of rice and a fortune cookie. I’m tired of being the only one who can decide what we’re eating for dinner.

Hi Everyone – Looking forward to another challenge, my 3rd.
Female, 5’4”, 57 years of age
HW: 210 (May, 2022)
CW: 149.4
GW: still don’t know… hope I’ll know it when I see it in the mirror… chasing a “healthy” BMI first
Goals: Continue working on same goals from previous round because it seems to have worked!
Cardio: 8/10 days (only days I struggle with this are Sunday and Wednesday due to lack of time)
Bodyweight Train: 3/10 days (I can do this on Sunday and Wednesday, but fitting that elusive 3rd workout in has been a struggle)
Logging Food: 10/10 days (using a food scale every time!)
SW Round 227
Spoiler
6/28: 149.6 - Ok... still bouncing around here... that's ok. Going to attempt some of the new ideas in my new bodyweight training book later this afternoon. I have also recorded a couple of workouts from PBS for stretching (Esmonde Technique or something like that). I like her workouts. That will be my plan B if the bodyweight thing is a bust. New Zumba class last night was good. It's always a slow start for me with a new instructor as they move differently and have different styles. I am also directionally challenged so I dance small so as not to harm those around me Last night's instructor leans to the Bollywood movements... which are fun, just a different way of moving than I am used to. 9 weeks, we'll see how it goes. We too are in the unhealthy air quality area here today from the wildfire smoke (Code Orange). Not sure if I'll get my after lunch walk done or not.
6/29: 148.6 - Progress! Did get my walk in yesterday, skipped the bodyweight training... really need to figure that out because I believe it will be essential to me reaching a goal weight that I am happy with. I did walk outdoors yesterday, but will not be doing so today - we are Code Red for the smoky air quality. I do have my 60 minute cardio dance class tonight after work - LOVE this class, I always sweat pretty spectacularly during this class.

OSW: 237.8 (Nov. 2016)
OGW: 199 (just to say I did)
Maintenance Range Goal: 200-205
Goals for this round:
1. For 2023, avoid a repeat of 2022 lack of discipline.
2. Stop whining.
3. Log my food daily… That is how I lost my weight before.

6/20:
So, I am back with you after a brief hiatus. I hope you will take me back, even though for today I will break one of my goals and whine a bit.
Begin whine…These last three months have been less than stellar:
Both of my parents have had hospitalizations due to heart problems; one heart attack and one pacemaker installed. Car and keys have been taken away. They are back home but DW and I are now the chauffeurs to their multitude of appointments. Did I mention we moved them to another apartment while dad was in the nursing home getting rehab? I have put the Power of Attorney hat on.
As for my health, I am dealing with lymphedema in my left ankle (and some other places), likely due to lymph system interruption from my prostate cancer surgery in February. I suppose this affects my overall weight too. The good news is that the follow up after the surgery is showing that it was as successful as it could be.
So, I need to be back here to give me some motivation to take care of myself. I don’t like the way I feel right now… end whine.
6/21: 223.6
/food logged; lots of functional movement, but no exercise per se/ amazing how food logging will deter some (but not all) hand to mouth mishaps and snaccidents.
Yesterday morning I took 2 pork shoulders off the smoker that had been cooking all night. Pulled and parsed it for sharing and storing for future use. The in-process quality assurance sampling amounted to my lunch.
Next two nights at a friend’s lake house. Could be dangerous. Won’t be able to weigh, but I can log.

/nada; nada/
Last two or three days proved to be dangerous indeed. Back home now.
I did have fun with friends and fam and got a little fishing done. Part of the fun was hooking myself through the skin of my ring finger knuckle. Hook went in and reemerged a half inch away. Quite a sight. Had to have my brother-in-law cut the barb off with wire cutters so I could back it out. I still love fishing. 😊
6/25: 225.6
/Logged; long walk/
6/26: 226.4
/Logged; some walking./
Lots of commercially prepared food…
I love all of the fishing stories that are washing up on the shore here.
6/27: 226.0
/Logged; not much exercise/
Yesterday was filled with doing book work for my parents, going to the doctor, chairing a planning commission meeting, and snacking.
6/28: 223.6
/logged all; walked nine short holes of golf with DW/
It was nice getting out and golfing with wife for the first time in years. My own game has suffered from neglect, and she rarely golfs. But we both had a nice time.
Funny story: Our golfing history together is absolutely riddled with instances of me giving her unsolicited advice after a dubbed shot. (it sounds like man-splaining, but it is not. I am a bit of a student of the game and just want to share my wisdom. I am a 5 on the enneagram scale. HA!) Usually (always) this ends in her resenting my play-by-play analysis.
So, on the way to the course in the truck, I took the initiative to promise her that I would not be offering ANY advice while we played, unless she asked for it. I thought to myself that I did not want to ruin a nice day together.
After her second shot of the day, you guessed it… I made a comment. It was about a mistake she made on both of her first two shots. (I am a sick person.) She proceeded to rewind and replay my promise made in the truck. I tried to parse my statement by saying while she did not ask for help, her first two golf shots begged for help. That did not fly…… I was a good boy for the rest of the round. I like to think I have learned my lesson. Mostly, I just like to think.
6/20: 224.6
Starting weight at end of last round.
6/29: 223.2
/logged it; minor walking/
DGS over for a while this morning. Air is a lot cleaner this morning after the rain, so I think it will be ok. He had a cough yesterday. (me too)

~ I have been t tracking but I haven’t had time to analyze the last few days to figure why there hasn’t been bigger decreases on the scale.

~ My Watch-party was a success. Not sure about the show anymore but we made the best of it. I did so well with food until the very end of the night when I felt the need to absorb some of the alcohol I consumed🫤 oh well! ~ It was my day off yesterday and I did a little hosting by the pool side with my mom and aunt. 🥰 We’ve recently just finished constructing our new pool and so I’ve been using that and the hot tub any chance I can. I didn’t eat terribly but we had some drinks and I didn’t work out.. not really. I guess I can still give myself credit for tracking food yesterday ! - Wed 06/21💚171lbs; -.8lbs
~ I’m going to attempt to track my food today. I hesitate to say “I will” because I’m not sure if it’ll drudge up old negative feelings when I was doing it religiously and slowly getting out of control with eating and eventually quitting all together.
But just for today…I will! - SW: 171.8

6/29: 158.7 lbs (trend 160.3)

I am about 12 kg along the way to lose 32 kg. I use multiple tape measurements (cm) around my body because they aren't affected by salt intake. Apparently I've been trying to lose weight since September 2012, the last time I was at goal weight. Let's see if stopping eating sugary food is going to change things.

Round 227: JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS
Hi, I’m Amanda, almost 50, wicked short 4’11” from New England.

2nd goal for mid-August.
Appreciate all your support.

6/29 – 114.6 ⬇️
Yup, wasted all my calories on peanuts and "cake-ball snacks" (they're not cake)
Ugh, leaving no calories left for dinner.
It was during the day, so it’s not LATE Night Snacking.
I just need to STOP snacking so I can eat real food!
