SW: 229.4. CW: 225.4 (-4.0)
RGW: < 224?
FGW: 180. UGW: 150
Goals are 18 hr fasts with one 24 fast per week. Lower my carb intake and limit alcohol to a few glasses on the weekend. Start some light exercise.
Round 226. SW 229.4. EW 229.8. (+0.4)
Round 227. SW 225.2
6/20 - 229.2.
Round 227
6/21 - 225.2. (-4.2) Ok so a little patience paid off and I did get a woosh overnight! Down 4lbs and mostly made my Round goal!!
6/22 - 224 (-1.2). 18 hr fast. The woosh continues!! I have a silly very unscientific theory that if I keep my diet clean and don't drink any alcohol, I can keep this downward trend going for a bit before it starts bouncing around. Gonna see what happens this round. I think I need to set a new round goal though. 😊
6/23 - 223.6 (-0.4) 18.5 hr fast. The science experiment continues! I finally got motivated to do the first video of the beginner program in Beachbody. It felt a little too easy honestly but it's getting moving so I'm going to count that a win. Also hit 8000 steps again yesterday. Trying to focus on moving more.
6/24 - 223.4 (-0.2) 18 hr fast. I was hungry near the end of this fast but I managed to keep to my goal to load up on protein during my window. I did have a few nachos at dinner and some take out so I think higher sodium than normal. But I avoided late night snacking which is my downfall. Didn't get to my workout but going to try to do them over the weekend.
6/25 226.2 (+3.2) 19 hr fast. My science experiment is over. We were at a friend's place for lunch and I had a few drinks and just like that I've bounced up 3lbs. I know this is just a water thing but I good reminder that when I drink, the loss slows right down.
6/26 226.8 (+0.6) 18 hr fast. Still up. Hourly i can drop this before round end.
6/27 225.4 (-1.4) 16 hr fast. Had wine and ate some junk food but still dropping the water weight from the weekend so that's good.

Round 225: 162.5 lbs (-1.5)
Round 226: 161.4 lbs (-1.1)
I don't usually set a weight as a goal for these challenges but this time I will make an exception - I will aim for the 150s by the end of this round. I will stay within my calorie limits and get at least 22 active minutes per day.
Round 227 SW: 161.4 lbs
6/21: 160.5 lbs
TOM arrived and I usually get a whoosh when it starts.
6/22: 159.8 lbs
I am still losing bloat from TOM. From past experience I usually bounce around a new low weight for a while before my trend weight catches up. My trend weight is currently 161.8 lbs.
6/23: 160.5 lbs
6/24: 159.8 lbs
6/25: 160.1 lbs (trend 161.2)
Bouncing around as I predicted. My trend weight is still heading down and is now 161.2 lbs.
6/26: 160.3 lbs (trend 160.9)
I think I will also start tracking my trend weight. I use the Android app Libra to calculate it and I think it is just a running average of the last 7 days. So if my weight pops up but my trend weight is down then I know I am still in the right track. It's going to be a stressful week at work this week so my goal will be to try not to comfort eat.
6/27: 158.7 lbs (trend 160.7)
Stressing the pounds away is probably not healthy but at least I am not comfort eating so far.

Not a great number, but better than yesterday! I’m making a tomato galette with feta and olives for dinner (DH’s request) — yummy, and if I skip most of the crust, not bad on calories.
@sheilaBoneham I hope you were able to fit in the crust. That dish sounds fantastic. I would starve all day, just for crust. :P
@SModa61 Haha! I did in fact eat the crust and it was delicious. Here’s a pic of the same sort of galette from a few weeks ago.
@sheilaboneham looks lovely. glad it tastes like it looks!2 -
Round 227
Starting Weight- 147
Current weight- 142.1
10 Day Goal-I would love to see something in the 130s. Focus on my health not just my food intake.
Ultimate Goal Weight: Sub 130
6/21 142.1
6/22 141.9 Days are flying past me. I'm sure I have forgot to chart a coffee or tea here and there but still managing to get my major intake recorded. Staying under calories. Exercise is still just me running around sorting out life. Planning to meal prep tomorrow after groceries are delivered.
6/23 141.5 Walked the mall for about an hour while waiting on new lens for my glasses. Hadn't ate all day and grabbed junk for dinner before heading to bed.
6/24 142.4 Went out to eat for dinner and had to guess on calories. If I'm honest, I probably went over. I hate having to choose between losing weight and spending an evening out with my husband actually enjoying myself. It is not fun for either of us me sitting there miserable, stressing out, trying to guess calories. Sorry for being so negative.
6/25 142.1 Lazy Sunday. Got some much needed rest. Remained under calories.
6/26 141.7 Remained under calories.
6/27 141.5 Finally got a walk in. 40 minutes. Over on calories a bit.

6/21 140.8 (trend 142.3) Glad to see yesterday's new low weight is sticking around more or less. I've set my goal this round to maintain, but in reality I'll be glad if my trend weight doesn't go up. Didn't leave the house yesterday as I was packing and organising all day, plus, as musicsax mentioned, we had torrential rain for a large part of the day. Eating was ok, although there was a bit of stress-snacking going on, but I stayed below, just! Woke up relieved to see my fake tan hadn't been a disaster, phew! I'm a notorious over-packer and am now trying to decide whether I can fit the iron into my suitcase or if I can bear spending the next 9 days a crumply mess...
Having pizza tonight at a local restaurant, as it's the only place that will still be open when we get to the apartment, so I'll eat light today to allow for it. Old me would be looking forward to some fast food at the airport but I'm going to be good and bring a small snack instead.
Yesterday was no walk or gym, calories good, alcohol free.
STEPS 5,001
6/22 DNW The pizza last night has left me very bloated and dehydrated today.
The flight was delayed so we ended up eating at 11.30pm which meant sleep was not great.
STEPS 9,500
6/23 DNW We cycled to the fish market and bought prawns, clams and monkfish, then to the fruit and veg market and bought loads of stuff, the veggies here are massive! It was a good chance to practice my Portuguese. I made arroz de marisco, which is similar to paella, very tasty! I've never cleaned prawns or cooked clams before, so it was good to learn a new skill. In the evening we cycled to the beach and played frisbee, then to the marina for a few drinks. Lots of wine so a bit of a sore head today.
Steps were low as I was on the bike most of the day.
STEPS 6,918
6/24 DNW We visited Portimão and did a walking tour then stopped for lunch, I had tuna salad. Picked up a watermelon and some sacks of oranges for juicing from a roadside vendor. Back at the apartment we went for a swim, then an evening walk and cocktails. We finished off the rice from yesterday for dinner.
STEPS 10,361
6/25 DNW We drove to Tavira and did another walking tour. Lunch was cod and chickpea salad with egg, very high in protein! In the evening we went to a lovely restaurant between some cliffs, right on the ocean, it was idyllic. We shared grilled ocean perch and a bottle of wine, then back to the apartment for a game of cards and an early night.
STEPS 9,040
6/26 DNW We spent the day on the beach, we had planned to go to a water park but decided we wanted rest rather than adrenalin! Lots of swimming and cycling low on steps as it's too hot at 34° for doing much walking. We took tuna salad sandwiches and watermelon for a packed lunch. In the evening we walked along the marina and had dinner at a restaurant in a small square, I had grilled sardines with boiled veggies and white wine.
STEPS 5,635
6/27 DNW In the morning I cycled to the fish market and picked up a dourada fish, which I think is sea bream, and bought veggies and bread. OH was working all day so I pottered about and prepped dinner. We went for an evening bike ride to a nature reserve then back home had baked fish with garlic roasted potatoes, onions and green peppers, with steamed veggies. Steps are low again but I cycled for 2.5 hours.
STEPS 4,651
6/28 DNW OH was working in the morning so I picked up some supplies for a packed lunch and made salted cod and chickpea pasta salad, which we took to Marinha beach with half a cantaloupe melon each and some cherries. Lots of swimming and sunbathing. After the beach we visited Albufeira and had a stroll about, looking at all the touristy stuff. Back home in Vilamoura, we went out for a late dinner at a tennis club and had pizza and sangria.

~ I have been t tracking but I haven’t had time to analyze the last few days to figure why there hasn’t been bigger decreases on the scale.
~ All I know is I’m eating low carb but more of the dirty keto version, skipped last nights late night munchies and have been way under calories Will scrutinize it later

~ My Watch-party was a success. Not sure about the show anymore but we made the best of it. I did so well with food until the very end of the night when I felt the need to absorb some of the alcohol I consumed🫤 oh well! Today is looking like a replica of yesterday so I’m thinking my weight is going to be up again tomorrow. Only thing I can look forward to on Mondays -normalcy - Sat 06/24💚171.6lbs;-.1lbs
~ Having a little girls night- “And Just Like That” - Watch Party tonight. I’ve heard Season 2 is not off to the best start but I’m hopeful my loyalty to my girls and the original series will trump my ADD tendencies, otherwise we’ll be busting out the board games. - Fri 06/23💚171.7lbs;-1.8lbs

~ It was my day off yesterday and I did a little hosting by the pool side with my mom and aunt. 🥰 We’ve recently just finished constructing our new pool and so I’ve been using that and the hot tub any chance I can. I didn’t eat terribly but we had some drinks and I didn’t work out.. not really. I guess I can still give myself credit for tracking food yesterday ! - Wed 06/21💚171lbs; -.8lbs
~ I’m going to attempt to track my food today. I hesitate to say “I will” because I’m not sure if it’ll drudge up old negative feelings when I was doing it religiously and slowly getting out of control with eating and eventually quitting all together.
But just for today…I will! - SW: 171.8

SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress took off another 2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress became gain)

GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
6/21 (mass) – 124.8 (Renpho 124.6) Back to middle of my range, which is good. Kitties had their wt checks this morning and chubby cat is up and skinny cat is down. Wrong direction for each of them. I did get on the IC4 yesterday. Only 30 minutes, BUT I got on it. I have to remember that I have these options in the house and need to take advantage of them. Today is time again with my parents. Medical runs with my father. Tomorrow is also my parents. Legal runs with them both.
6/22 (mass) – 124.4 (Renpho 124.4) Good new. Tracking good yesterday. Pathetic 15 minutes on the IC4, but that is more than zero exercise that today may bring. Today is picking up my parents, long drive to lawyer. Let them address their needs. Get them home. Return to my condo and pack and clean to go to maine. Walk the cats, then drive a half hour to my daughter’s for a family celebration of my MIL’s 84 birthday. Head back to the condo again. Finish packing and loading car. Drive to maine, unpack and settle in. Nothing bad in it, just busy-ness.
6/23 (maine) – 123.6 Wishing I had brought the Renpho travel scale with me to cross check. Number seems too low to be logical. Yesterday had been a wild day, small breakfast, then after dropping home my parents (which included medical drama to, from and during the legal meeting) I snagged one of their chocolate bars for lunch. Getting home, I saw the now hard remains of the melted chocolate from cooking for the birthday party. I proceeded to eat all that. Then had Chinese food at the party (controlled but not tracked), and then triffle, which was unfortunately two small servings. No exercise yesterday. Ironically, I was starving at 10 PM last night. Anyhow, the numbers will shake out and show the reality with time. Good or bad. Note: the only other time I have seen "surprise" 123.X numbers were on my scale in maine as well.
6/24 (maine) – 125.0 Yup, scale works fine. :P Diet was great yesterday, and then it wasn’t. Simple, straightforward binge behavior. BUT I did track it all. Was over my target (which is still technically below maintenance) by 1400 calories. Lots and Lots of carbs. Going to pretrack today. Hopefully, I will also convince myself to do exercise. Lately, it is raining like 5 or 6 out of 7 days. This is NOT normal for here and nor normal temps for this time of year. It’s becoming and excuse. Not good.
6/25 (maine) – 126.2 Ok, so posting later than usual this morning. I did weigh first thing, but wanted to get myself together before posting. Need to break my new habits, as yesterday was bad …. Again. Today, I weighed even though I did not want to. I got outside and walked/ran 6 miles in 78 minutes. I then used the mfp recipe builder to calculate the nutritional info on tonight’s recipes, and then tracked it. We’re entertaining tonight, and I am doing new recipes. Only after all that am I posting to you all. Today looks like a proper day! Yay!
6/26 (maine) – 126.4 Calories were good yesterday, and nice on exercise. I am guessing scale reflects the previous days of bad behavior.
6/27 (maine) – 124.6 Even though I started my day with leftover dessert (from the entertaining) for breakfast, I regrouped. We were then on the road all day and hubby needed lunch while driving, so it was fast food. Google quickly told me low cal options at McDonalds, so 4 pk of nuggets with hot mustard it was. Day ended with photography classes at Apple store to start learning how to better use our iphones. Dinner was in food court. Google to the rescue again. Chose panda express, medium entrée (no sides) of Kung Pow Chicken. Yes, MFP ended up having each of these foods to track, but sorting out selections was easiest through various websites on the internet. Glad to be getting back to normal AKA better behavior. Today is a rainy day movie…… don’t worry, I’ve got this one.
6/28 (mass) – 124.0 (Renpho 123.8) Couple days on track and numbers come back down. I am “maintaining” but not by eating identically every day. Maybe that is ok and “normal”. It least I am not responding to those repeated bad days by giving in. I’m actually seeing this as hopeful. Key for me (at this point) is remaining aware, regardless of good or bad, of ones choices in food and exercise, along with consistent check in with the scale.

Thank you all for being back for another round to share the accountability! This month has not been stellar for me. I've been maintaining in a 165-167 range for a few weeks now...which I suppose is better than it heading all up...but my goal is to maintain at about 20lbs lighter than this. So much life going on and not much routine which really messes me up. I would like to get consistently into the 164s this round to show some progress.
Female - 51yrs - 5'5"
Goal weight - to hang out somewhere 145-150
R226 End Weight 6/20 - 166.6 - which was a 1lb gain for the round
6/21 - 165.8 - yesterday we did our dog walk down by the lake where it was cooler, got in a good 5k towards our challenge goal for the Canadian Cancer Society...we're at 45/50km for the month so we should meet our goal by the end of the week...if not tomorrow. I'd like to hit 55km though as I raised $550 so 1km for every $10 sounds like a reasonable target. It's a hot one today and I didn't get an early start to say the least so it will be a shorter walk on the shady side of the street.
6/22 - 166.0 - Sigh.....walked a lot yesterday but didn't manage the calorie intake very well. Boys had their school athletic banquet last night so hubby and I walked to a local spot for dinner...I had the rice noodle special (the owner and chef of this place is from the Philippines and her noodles are so good) so I'm feeling some sodium bloat today.
6/23 - 166.8 - wrong direction. I really need to get things back on track. I have been so lazy with tracking and logging calories and I'm not making healthy choices. I think the only thing that's keeping the scale numbers from being even higher is that I'm maintaining a pretty robust activity level.
6/24 - 166.2
6/25 - DNW - Overslept and rushed out yesterday to drive up for work...forgot to post and pack the scale for my overnight at mom and dads. I was going to go our for a kayak after dinner last night but it the weather was iffy and I hate getting caught out on the river...it had stormed earlier so that makes me nervous.
6/26 - 166.6 - Still in that 165-167 range...been a month now...I guess it's better than maintaining at 188-190 which is where I started. Beginning to reconsider my summer strategy, we've got a trip in less than 2 weeks, I'll be mainly living with my parents, and lots of events booked. I maybe need to consider just trying to maintain where I am for a couple of months, which is still good progress, and then hop back into pound shedding mode again when we're back to easier routines in September. I may still lose a few, hopefully, but it will be a lot less stressful and disappointing if I reset my expectations for the next two months.
6/27 - 164.6 - well I don't know where that drop came from....except for possibly dehydration. Not counting on it sticking but who knows...I'll take it if it does. Heavy rains the last few days so walking hasn't been a great option for activity. We got SOAKED yesterday when I left during a break in the rain, we made it around the corner and 5 houses and it just poured, I was ringing out my socks after a barely 4 minute walk. Glad we finished our 50km challenge last week as it would have been tricky to get those last few in this week.
6/28 - 165.8 - knew it wouldn't stick, I was definitely dehydrated. Got my steps in at the mall yesterday, boys needed new shoes...and a short walk in the afternoon with the dog during a break in the rain. Not sure how our morning walk will go today, the wildfire smoke is pretty bad here and we have air quality warnings through the day, maybe into tomorrow.

6/28 - 153.8 - Oh gosh, can I bring this back around into 152.x in the next couple of days to hit goal?! Some bloating is gone. I imagine some of this is water retention from working out/manual labor (glycogen stores) as I've been very tender lately. Today I walked the dogs and then completed my first round of NF Journey kettlebell workout. It was rather easy (10x deadlifts, farmers walk 30sec, and 10x 2-hand bicep curls for 3 rounds) but I know I'll be sore, at least in the arms, tomorrow. I also knocked out 30 second plank, 10 knee pushups, and 10 squats for my Finch app (which only requests 10s, 5x and 5x respectively but I make it a bit more challenging). Now to move through the day to hit my 10k steps goal! No clue on dinner but lunch will be some leftover street tacos which I will pre-log now.

Previous Day's Comments6/21 - Some bloat has been banished. Still no TOM so likely not the hormonal bloat that has been banished. At least that means my efforts to re-hydrate are not in vain! I did splurge on a couple mojitos yesterday before realizing just how many calories/sugar are in them! Oof. I'll stick to vodka+soda+lime wedge from now on if I decide to drink (or wine with dinner). Not sure today's dinner but it's something related to chicken as that's out to thaw haha I'm likely to repeat yesterday's lunch with the last of the leftover chicken from Sunday mixed with some frozen steamable veggies from the deep freeze I found. I'm feeling pretty good about hitting all my habit goals today, I hope everyone else feels just as good about theirs!
6/22 - TOM dropped some bloat but the garlic salt from dinner last night has me feeling more bloated than I was before! Hopefully it'll drop off here soon. Got a walk with the pups this morning before it got awful hot. Been moving quite a bit all morning between work, running a grocery errand for dinner and prepping dinner (marinating chicken). Luckily it's a fairly slow day for work. Unsure if Thirsty Thursday is happening but I hope not. I have no room in my calorie budget for anything else and I don't want the temptation. It's so easy to mindless snack on whatever people have ordered for the table. SD is sick so I made us both an herbal tea to help fight whatever it is off. FamWife started feeling it the last couple days of vacation and SD was the unlucky one to get it. Hopefully I can avoid it!
6/23 - I overate at dinner and was nearly 200 calories over goal which put me about maintenance. I had completely forgotten to log the rice portion of dinner until after dinner (I almost forgot to make the rice, too!). By the time I was done cleaning the kitchen after, I felt so heavy and my stomach was starting to hurt. I knew I should've slowed down eating and as I finished the last few bites, I KNEW I shouldn't still be eating. But I told myself it's only a couple more bites, I might as well finish. And this is the mindset that got me where I am now. I need to fix that quickly. I'm recognizing it and calling it out to you lovelies to keep myself accountable. I can't change the past, but I can start now to help change the future into something I'm happy about. On a happier note, I got a nice walk in with the pups this morning and it wasn't too terribly hot. I need to start running but I feel awful that my only time to run (I can't run for at least 3-4 hours after last eating without getting sick so morning before food is about it for me) is currently the only time it is cool enough to walk the pups. I may have to alternate - if I run Mon-Wed-Fri, walk them Tues-Thurs or vice versa and add in some indoor work like rowing or spinning. I'll brainstorm this weekend.
6/24 - DNP

6/26 - Busy busy busy weekend, barely had time to journal and no time to hop on my computer to check in here. Lots of manual labor in triple-digit temperatures. I'm worn out. I did manage to take a very nice walk with the pups this morning, though, despite being so tired. Hopefully I'll be good by tomorrow as I plan to run. Also planning a run on Thursday. I'll walk the dogs Wednesday and Friday in the mornings and work on body weight strength or bike/rower to start rebuilding my workout routine. I have leftover ground beef and refried beans from dinner last night (burritos) so I'll try to make up something with that for lunch with a side of frozen veg. Otherwise, I'm unsure of all other meals. Will try to stay active and moving through the day to hit 10k steps and meet calorie goal.
6/27 - Stupid sodium... Dinner was spaghetti with homemade garlic bread. Garlic salt on the noodles. Garlic salt in the meat. Sodium in the canned sauce. Garlic salt on the bread. And I've already ranted enough about garlic salt here and the bloating it causes me. I was over about 150 calories yesterday due to the carb overload for dinner so still in deficit but not ideal. Hoping today is better. It's Taco Tuesday, though, and we had burritos Sunday so I'm guessing today is one of the heavier meals on rotation. I'll pre-log enchiladas (the most calorie dense) and adjust from there. I ran with both dogs this morning. A short 1.14 miles to the stop sign and back as I don't ever run with both dogs (they're a handful together) and I don't want to go on the main roads with them just yet. I always hated running but it felt good to get back to it today. Might I be turning into a runner?! Kettlebell workout (via Nerd Fitness Journey) and a walk with the dogs is scheduled for tomorrow. Plenty of water today to flush the sodium bloat and re-hydrate. Heat warnings are kicking my behind and I usually love the heat!

I’m making some progress against the encroahments with my 3-hour weed & grass pulling workouts. Whew! I make it all bearable by thinking of the calories burning and muscles building. 😁 It does make me hungry, but I’m mostly sticking to the plan. All good.
6/22 - 183.6
Other than a piece of apple pie a friend brought over, yesterday was perfect. I did lots of yard work and even blocked a lace wrap I finished knitting a few months ago (pic below — color doesn’t show well, but it’s a dark brownish purple). I’m planning a workout this morning of moving a few plants that are in the wrong spots and not thriving. It’s not supposed to be so hot today, so that’s a relief. 90F yesterday, but forecast high today is 74. Sounds good! Enjoy your day, all!

Weird. I remember writing a post yesterday, but I can’t find it. I probably hit Done instead of post. Oh well! Happy Saturday!
6/25 - 185
Aaack! Salt and, let’s be honest, too much blankety blank food. I’m beginning to think I should go to bed at 9 p.m. before I start snacking! I’ll try to do better today, and tomorrow and tomorrow and… With all the yard work I’m doing, if I didn’t snack I’d be skinny by now. Sigh.
6/26 - 184
Not a great number, but better than yesterday! I’m making a tomato galette with feta and olives for dinner (DH’s request) — yummy, and if I skip most of the crust, not bad on calories.
6/27 - 183
Oh, good! At least there’s that! I could not get to sleep last night — kept thinking about my upcoming cataract surgeries and, on a more pleasant note, the book I’m working on and knitting projects. I finally nodded off around 6, up at 7. I feel really woozy and faintly headachy. I was planning a garden work day, but between the way I feel and the air quality alert, I think not. I stepped outside a while ago and it’s foggy with a distinct smell of smoke as the fog grabs onto the wildfire smoke. Not nice at all. I’ll have to walk the pup at some point, but it will be a short walk. Then I think I’ll go back to bed.
6/28 - 182.8
We have another air quality alert day, with particulate matter in the mid-unhealthy zone right now. How’s everyone else doing in the smokey areas?

6/20:
So, I am back with you after a brief hiatus. I hope you will take me back, even though for today I will break one of my goals and whine a bit.
Begin whine…These last three months have been less than stellar:
Both of my parents have had hospitalizations due to heart problems; one heart attack and one pacemaker installed. Car and keys have been taken away. They are back home but DW and I are now the chauffeurs to their multitude of appointments. Did I mention we moved them to another apartment while dad was in the nursing home getting rehab? I have put the Power of Attorney hat on.
As for my health, I am dealing with lymphedema in my left ankle (and some other places), likely due to lymph system interruption from my prostate cancer surgery in February. I suppose this affects my overall weight too. The good news is that the follow up after the surgery is showing that it was as successful as it could be.
So, I need to be back here to give me some motivation to take care of myself. I don’t like the way I feel right now… end whine.

/food logged; lots of functional movement, but no exercise per se/ amazing how food logging will deter some (but not all) hand to mouth mishaps and snaccidents.
Yesterday morning I took 2 pork shoulders off the smoker that had been cooking all night. Pulled and parsed it for sharing and storing for future use. The in-process quality assurance sampling amounted to my lunch.
Next two nights at a friend’s lake house. Could be dangerous. Won’t be able to weigh, but I can log.

Last two or three days proved to be dangerous indeed. Back home now.
I did have fun with friends and fam and got a little fishing done. Part of the fun was hooking myself through the skin of my ring finger knuckle. Hook went in and reemerged a half inch away. Quite a sight. Had to have my brother-in-law cut the barb off with wire cutters so I could back it out. I still love fishing. 😊

6/28: 223.6
/logged all; walked nine short holes of golf with DW/
It was nice getting out and golfing with wife for the first time in years. My own game has suffered from neglect, and she rarely golfs. But we both had a nice time.
Funny story: Our golfing history together is absolutely riddled with instances of me giving her unsolicited advice after a dubbed shot. (it sounds like man-splaining, but it is not. I am a bit of a student of the game and just want to share my wisdom. I am a 5 on the enneagram scale. HA!) Usually (always) this ends in her resenting my play-by-play analysis.
So, on the way to the course in the truck, I took the initiative to promise her that I would not be offering ANY advice while we played, unless she asked for it. I thought to myself that I did not want to ruin a nice day together.
After her second shot of the day, you guessed it… I made a comment. It was about a mistake she made on both of her first two shots. (I am a sick person.) She proceeded to rewind and replay my promise made in the truck. I tried to parse my statement by saying while she did not ask for help, her first two golf shots begged for help. That did not fly…… I was a good boy for the rest of the round. I like to think I have learned my lesson. Mostly, I just like to think.

I'm not in the area, but my parents were commenting on it yesterday from NW Indiana. They're in the Red/Unhealthy range until Wednesday at midnight as of right now. It's really put them in the dumps. Dad has to drive the truck rather than ride his motorcycle and save on fuel. Ma can't tend her garden and is a little iffy about eating anything from it. My poor pup who is elderly and doesn't get around as well anymore seems to have found herself in a depression as she's not out and about outdoors as often.
It's a really sad and worrisome ordeal. I'm hoping and praying everyone is safe in Canada and this ends for everyone very very soon. I hope things clear up for you soon.4 -

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for over 6 years with amazing results!

SW Round 227 127.5
6/21 128.0
6/22 129.0 I forgot there was going to be community bingo last night. The “meal” was fried chicken, sweet coleslaw (🤮) and cookies.
6/23 129.0 Fasted 21.5 hours yesterday. Doing that again today but eating earlier to try to get back on MY schedule. Tomorrow is DGGS’s first birthday party - he’ll be 1 on Sunday. Time sure does fly!
6/24 128.5 I made some fat bombs last night so I can have a “splurge” now and then or satisfy that “I want something but don’t know what” evenings. “greenandketo” has lots of recipes. My total carbs were 8g and I was below my fat macro.
6/25 129.0 It’s all good. Baby’s birthday party in the park was warm (95*F) but DGD (mom) did a wonderful job with everything. I avoided all foods except one large chocolate chip cookie. I didn’t have enough water - it was available but I didn’t drink it.
6/26 129.0 I’m beginning to doubt my scale. It says the cat has gained a pound since I have been feeding him less and weighing with and without my Birks and pj’s made no difference in my weight. Well, just keep on keeping on! Just had a lovely TMI 😂😂
6/27 128.0 Surprise birthday for one of the ladies in my art quilt group. She is 90 and a real inspiration. I ate a few crumbs of Nothing Bundt Cake and a lot of cream cheese frosting! It didn’t taste anywhere as good as it used to.
6/28 128.5 We got Chinese take out later than I wanted to eat. DH wasn’t feeling great and was grumpy. I ate about 1/4th of my entree and 3 bites of rice and a fortune cookie.
Side note-I’m tired of being the only one who can decide what we’re eating for dinner.6 -
Hi Everyone – Looking forward to another challenge, my 3rd.
Female, 5’4”, 57 years of age
HW: 210 (May, 2022)
CW: 149.4
GW: still don’t know… hope I’ll know it when I see it in the mirror… chasing a “healthy” BMI first
Goals: Continue working on same goals from previous round because it seems to have worked!
Cardio: 8/10 days (only days I struggle with this are Sunday and Wednesday due to lack of time)
Bodyweight Train: 3/10 days (I can do this on Sunday and Wednesday, but fitting that elusive 3rd workout in has been a struggle)
Logging Food: 10/10 days (using a food scale every time!)
SW Round 2276/21: 149.4 – Another crazy stressful work day. Did not get a workout in. Did eat my stress – not totally off the rails, but certainly enough that I need to pull back and be careful the next few days.6/28: 149.6 - Ok... still bouncing around here... that's ok. Going to attempt some of the new ideas in my new bodyweight training book later this afternoon. I have also recorded a couple of workouts from PBS for stretching (Esmonde Technique or something like that). I like her workouts. That will be my plan B if the bodyweight thing is a bust. New Zumba class last night was good. It's always a slow start for me with a new instructor as they move differently and have different styles. I am also directionally challenged so I dance small so as not to harm those around me Last night's instructor leans to the Bollywood movements... which are fun, just a different way of moving than I am used to. 9 weeks, we'll see how it goes. We too are in the unhealthy air quality area here today from the wildfire smoke (Code Orange). Not sure if I'll get my after lunch walk done or not.
6/22: 149.2 – Today is again crazy at work, but I do have my 60 minutes of Cardio Dance tonight that I am heading to after work. I always feel better after I sweat it out. My best friend from high school is in town this weekend and called me to get together on Sunday. That will be fun to catch up with her – eating at my house, I am going to cook the meal for us so I can control the food. I am looking forward to Friday so that I can feel like I can breathe this week – what a whirlwind. Physically, I feel good. I am so much better off than I would have been just a year ago… I really need to get this stress under control though. LOTS of yoga breathing happening over here! I have logged my food, and I have all my fruits / Greek yogurt for snack, cooked my lunch and packed it up this morning. I am strong, I can do this.
6/23: 149.2 - Holding steady. So happy this work week is over for me!! I have 60 minute Zumba class in the early morning, then in the afternoon I am doing some self pampering - haircut, highlights, etc
6/24: DNW

6/26: 149.8 - Life has become a bit of a whirlwind the past few days. All good... just stressful... even good things cause stress sometimes. Hope all are doing well!!! I will catch up on reading posts over the next couple of days, but wanted to check in before this day got away from me.
6/27: 150.2 - Sad to see that "5" again, but I am not surprised. I made a baked pasta dish for lunch Sunday, and although I made an incredibly veggie packed sauce and cut back on the total pasta in the dish, I know it is still physically heavier than anything I've eaten recently. I have a 60 minute Zumba class after work this evening - a little bit nervous as it's a new instructor and group I'm joining... but I know at the end of it I'll be smiling. I bought a book regarding bodyweight training... not sure how I feel about it yet... but we'll see if it can spark me to be more regular working out that way. I am still hearing that little voice telling me that I "can" do a pull up... eventually.

@_JeffreyD_ - you sound like my husband. We've been married nearly 40 years, I've been golfing with him twice.
@quiltingjaine - same issue in my home. I feel like I am always deciding what's for dinner. DH tells me it is because I am the one with the food limits... but he eats crap most of the time. He should have some food limits - LOL!1 -

06/27 -198.0- (Trend weight 197.1) I got hungry last night after closing my diary. I had to eat again but I could have made better non-lazy choices. I performed strength training day #2 with hand weights as I layed down with feet propped to help my ankles drain. I’m weaker than I thought but I did it. I know, in time, it will get easier.
06/28 -197.0- (Trend weight 197.1) I think I finally lost the water weight from the Pizza on Sunday. I’ve also been working on self-draining my ankles with feet up daily for at least 30 minutes. I seem to have shed a lot of water yesterday as reflected on the scale. It was day 3 of my 21 day mini-challenge to do some simple weight training with hand weights and bands. I’m working on my bat wings among other things. Air quality was horrid yesterday. I stayed inside mainly and kept the windows closed. It was difficult with no A/C but necessary.

Goals are 18 hr fasts with one 24 fast per week. Lower my carb intake and limit alcohol to a few glasses on the weekend. Start some light exercise.

Round 227. SW 225.2

6/28 - 227 (+1.6). 18 hr fast. I was supposed to start my fast at like 6:30 last night and instead at like 9 I started snacking. I was way too low on my daily calories (i think i had only eaten like 800 calories in my window) so that's on me for being silly and thinking i could sneak a low day in. I don't think i ate more than my calorie goal but there was a lot of sodium. Plus I had a deep tissue massage yesterday and today I'm really sore so I'm wondering if that causes any water retention? Anyone know? Anyhow. C'est la vie in the weight loss world to have the up and down and up and down.

@quiltingjaine - same issue in my home. I feel like I am always deciding what's for dinner. DH tells me it is because I am the one with the food limits... but he eats crap most of the time. He should have some food limits - LOL![/quote]
I always decide on dinner too, if I ask DH what we should have he always says "what do you fancy ?" !!!!!!!!!!!!!2 -

6/26 216.8 I am still working through my bio father discovery. My husband is very supportive. I bought a 3 month unlimited hot yoga pass because that helps me. I am also joining a women’s walking group. I tried to make it there this morning but it started to rain hard. I will be meeting my new half siblings in 3 weeks if all goes well. I haven’t decided if I will meet my bio father. I will ask him if he is interested in meeting me but the siblings are very excited. I find that I look like hell. I don’t know if it is depression or shock or all in my head, but hopefully that improves in the next little bit.
@lisapower123 maybe a spa day is in order? fresh haircut, and such. Might come out feeling and looking refreshed.
@SModa61 i have been doing a lot of self care & a new hair cut happened right before the discovery. I have been thinking about a massage, but maybe a facial would help more. I think it is mostly because I lost some eyelashes, which happens to me during big emotional periods. I am feeling better today so hopefully that trend continues!
@quiltingjaine same issue in our house with my husband. I stopped cooking & just prep ingredients now so everyone can make their own food when they feel like eating. It has made my life easier.
@SheilaBoneham air quality is dangerous here too! I saw my older neighbours out walking their dogs with a mask on but what about the dogs? Can’t be good for them either!5
