Need a team for support and commitment? Some help getting inspired? We hope you'll consider FAT 2 FIT, a weight loss challenge and support group. A community. A wonderful group of warm, fun, and strong people to help make your journey possible. Come for AUGUST and stay on for the long haul. This group is here to support you all the way to your goal and beyond!

AUGUST 2023 REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN
The August Challenge will run for five weeks fromJuly 30 - September 2, because we always start on a Sunday and end on a Saturday no matter what!

REGISTRATIONS:
Sunday July 23 - Saturday July 29

WHAT WE DO:
The group is divided into five teams. Each team is made up of 20-25 members, including Captains and Motivators. Everyone is required to weigh in weekly to gauge our success and have some fun rivalry among the teams. Everyone posts daily, or as often as possible to support one another, and to keep the discussions and commitment going. We conduct challenges throughout the month to help inspire and motivate. Your team is your community support group - active participation is strongly encouraged!

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO FIRST:
Before you join, please spend some time looking around.

Check out the teams - all the chat threads are under "Discussions". Group challenges and resources are under "Announcements". Look around and decide if you want to try this as your primary weight loss support and motivation team. If you stick with it, actively posting in your team, learning and helping - for the full month, we can practically guarantee you'll be happy with the results. Hopefully you'll like it so much you will stay for many more months! If it looks like you'd fit in, then SIGN UP

HOW TO SIGN UP:
This is the easy part. Post the following information:

MFP USER NAME
YOUR CHOSEN WEIGH-IN DAY
YOUR CURRENT WEIGHT
YOUR ORIGINAL STARTING WEIGHT
(highest weight ever) - optional, but great for celebrating milestones!
PREFERRED TEAM (if you have one)

That's it! One of our Moderators will assign you to a team. Be sure to come back here to find your team assignment.

I am having surgery soon on rotator cuff but thought it would be a good time to start my weight loss journey...trouble is I won't be able to use my right arm for 6-8 weeks Should I consider waiting until I can be more physically active or can I still succeed if I start now

I think you could do well starting now even if you cannot do all the exercise you might want to. You can certainly track and refine what healthy foods you put inside! That is important both for your healing and your weight loss.

See how you feel - one thing you can always do is to participate in the team chat, but without the weekly weigh-ins (we call this "support team", used for periods of illness, vacations, etc.). Once you feel ready to tackle regular weight loss, you just let the team captain know and start weighing in. We're pretty flexible and hopefully can work with you to find the best way to proceed! It is a long-term process in any case, so getting started even if it is slow at first is a great step forward. Let us know, and we'll get you started!

I hope that @ddcolbert55 and others are ready to give our teams a try - there is still room for a few more people. Hope to see you there!
