I had a great afternoon! Lovely nap after making pesto.
My new throw looks fine.
I've been watching a few Clutterbug videos on YouTube. I used to watch her ages ago, but got bored. Well, I'm back! She really encourages me to get started. So I decided to tackle the art cupboards, that I have had on my 'To do' list for ages. Got started, and accomplished a LOT in around 45 mins. DH came in and helped with the final sort out, so we have made great progress. It was mainly stuff from when the kids were younger. I decided to stop before I got tired, so will do a bit more tomorrow.
I also put some bags of different shaped pasta together in a box. Much better. The trick is, not to think you have to do it all at once. Just do one thing. Thank you Clutterbug!

Really enjoyed that, and dinner with homemade pesto was heaven!
Now for Midsomer Murders. :p
Lanette - It was a store-bought plant. I understand that they overcrowd them and you can split them up. I didn’t do that and most shoots died off and I was left with three. Enough for me.
My rosemary, thyme and sage keep going through our winter. Mint mostly hibernates. I must try parsley again next year.

Welcome to the newbies.
Carol - If my DH were still alive we would have celebrated our 54th anniversary on August 23. Happy anniversary to you. Love the picture.
Smokey again here today and hot for us. DD and I are working inside. Hoping for a cooler weekend next week as we need to do some fence work.
We put the goats out in the back pasture to eat blackberries as they have kind of taken over this summer and the horses just eat around them.
Allie - enjoy your adventure.

Allie- the ocean looks amazing!!! Please post lots of pictures. I can't wait until we can go on another cruise!!
Up early this morning- alarm went off at 6:30, over at mother in law's by 7:30. Had a delivery time for her new stove from 7:30-11:30AM. As soon as we got there the dog wanted to walk(he knows that is why I go there). Walked a while, came back and helped dh with the yard work. I mowed the front and back of her lawn/dirt patch then the guys showed up to deliver the stove. That was time for me to take the dog for another walk to keep him out of the way and not run off. Walked just under 25 min and when we were getting back to the house, they were leaving- perfect timing. We were done and out of their a little after 9. Drove up, did my last merchandising job and found they had a Falling Prices up right next door(fun place to shop but Saturdays are crazy because everything is just .25. We will go on Tuesday to see how it is when everything is $6.Nice to have one close by instead of driving all the way up past Sacramento. Found some coloring books and other craft stuff- even picked up a mug for dh-he didn't see it- will give it to him at Christmas- Best Cat dad ever- He is a great cat dad but not much of a regular one or husband for that matter. Oh well. He thinks he is.
Had lunch then came back home. All that and home by 1:00
Beings we did the shop today, I can go to church if I want to. We had thought we would be stuck at his mom's a lot longer and we would do the shop tomorrow. Nice surprise
Picked up more chicken. Cooking it for the feral/neighborhood cat. One that dh feeds only wants chicken instead of dried or canned cat food so he is having me cook for the cat. They are so spoiled.

Allie: Have a whale of a time. I think Miles and Carmine look quite alike in those photos.
Lisa: Sounds like Soraya is fitting right in.
Heather: I buy the shop herbs and plant some of them in the greenhouse for the winter. Parsley is planted in the herb bed outside the kitchen.
Carol:
Time for bed.

Hello peeps-
Now that i have a keyboard, i can type faster.
Regarding the new Bette 4.0: kirby did his research and we talked about my “must have” and the only thing was a walk around bed and storage. We talked about keeping the smaller trailer and the new one. The reason for that is we are having it stored over there at Pismo Beach. This will restrict us to only going there. We are paying for storage and for them to deliver it to our spot and when we are done they will take it back to storage. This way we won’t have to haul it back home, buy a bigger vehicle to pull it, find storage over here, etc. all we will have to do is take the food. When we get there, the trailer will already be there waiting for us. We decided that we are going to sell the smaller trailer. We really haven’t been camping elsewhere a lot, we really like Pismo and the beach and the town. When we sell it, it will free up the garage more and give us more room and what we get out of the trailer, we can put back in the bank or give to our broker. We will be paying cash for the new one and the smaller one was paid for when we got it. We cleaned her up and posted it. We drove it home on 11/4/22 so we have had it less than a year, it’s still very clean.
Tomorrow i will type about my great niece Addison.
It’s posted on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp and Nextdoor.
Last Thursday we did the walkthrough and they gave us the keys and let us put stuff in it so we wouldn’t have to bring everything back, that was nice8 -
Allie -- I hope you have a lovely time and make new friends to have fun with. Your view is amazing! So happy for you.
Love to all of you.

Regarding great niece Addison:
Well……….. everything seemed to go well at the end of the week and there didn’t seem to be any serious issue. When i dropped her off i made her friends on MFP and on the Strava app so i could see her activity and her food and exercise entry. The deal was she was to walk 4miles a day and floor exercises. I told her it was going to be hard because it won’t be as scenic as it was when she was here (lives out in the country, dirt flat farmland). Told her if she had any questions or issues with logging or anything to call me, we traded phone numbers. For whatever reason no logging or walking since she was back at home. One day she walked 1-1/2 miles and i texted her what happened to the remaining mileage to make 4. No response. I found out her mother (my niece) said that she didn’t want her walking alone. I told her to have her walk with her (she needs the exercise too) or follow her in her damn car if she had to. If she had to go somewhere, i told her to get up earlier so she could make her appointment. There were excuses after excuses. I was beyond pissed. I told her that in order for her to come back for another round.of being here with us, i would require 5 consecutive days of 4 mile walks and logging of food and exercise. So far nothing has happened and i told her, if it’s not logged, it didn’t happened. I also wanted to pick up the shoes i got her ($160) they have a 60 day return time. Told my sister (addision’s grandmother) that i wanted to pick up the shoes, i didn’t dish out that $$ for them to stay in a box. She assured me they would pay me back.

Prayers please for my goddaughter, her husband, six children, two dogs and assorted chickens. They suddenly have to evacuate from their home as winds are whipping fires toward their town. Now I’m thankful I decided not to risk the trip, but very very very worried.

We are fostering a young male dog from the Humane Society. He has lived on the street a lot of his life and was driven up from California yesterday with seven other dogs. We are learning a lot about patience. He is black with a white chest and white paws, a mix of Wheaten Terrier and poodle and smaller than Bessie.
Pip, My grandfather used to say "You can send a girl to college, but you cannot make her think". Sounds like a reference to your great niece. What a disappointment.

Allie - thank you for sharing those photos of the ocean. Very relaxing, I can just imagine a cool ocean breeze. It's 85 here right now and your view is wonderful, makes me feel better already. Enjoy your cruise!
Pip - thanks on the Bette 4 info, I kind of thought maybe you'd leave her someplace and not tow her all over. She'll be the perfect getaway, sounds like a good arrangement. Sad that Addison isn't able to hold to her agreement. It sounds like she's not getting support at home, and it makes me wonder if that's not part of her weight problem. At least you planted a seed, sometimes it takes a while for it to root and grow.
Heather - I bought a basil plant at the grocery store this spring, but I think it wasn't in good shape to begin with. Between the chicks and getting my car fixed, I think my mind was elsewhere this summer. Next year I will try again with basil - this time I'll go to an actual nursery where plants are grown locally, it will probably have a better chance. I bet your pesto was delicious.
Barbara - prayers going up for your goddaughter and her family and critters. Praying the winds die down or changes direction and spares them and their town from the fire.
Barbie - crossing fingers Bodhi will calm down and settle in just fine. You and Jake are to be commended in fostering this guy and showing him what it's like to live in a home and not the street. Wheaten Terrier and Poodle sound like a nice mix, bet he's pretty smart! Love his markings.
Sue - So far it looks like next weekend's weather will be cooler, maybe a little rain mid-week at least for me here south of you. I remember what it was like needing to get fences built and/or fixed. So good you have DD right there to help, many of these are 2-person jobs, or at least they go quicker that way.

Pip so sorry that coaching Addison didn't work out.
Barbara, hope your goddaughter and her loved ones are safe. So scary.
Barbie Congratulations on Bodhi! Hope he fits in smoothly, after his adjustment.
I'm having another challenging day. My dad is just tough to handle. He's cheerful and polite which helps a lot, but he needs a lot of administrative help. For example today's questions were about replacing his lost driver's license. I must have explained to him twenty times that his birth certificate won't help because it doesn't prove that he lives in Delaware. Then he gets rattled again because he can't find his birth certificate. My mom was actually more helpful. I think we got sufficient papers together.
Next I have to drive him to church because he has a stress fracture so he can't walk, especially not in his dress shoes. He will fight me on that. But that's tomorrow's problem. Tonight he is doing something noisy on his computer so I can't sleep. It's easier to wait it out than to get his attention and get him to change anything. He just doesn't listen to me. He smiles and nods and then goes off and ignores whatever I said. So it's frustrating. But it could be a lot worse. I'm so glad he didn't get Covid.

Machka - based would have to follow your husband as well. I have never been to a fancy place that required that I know it.
I think I forgot to say Happy Anniversary yesterday.
Barbara - I hope you enjoy the visit with your Goddaughter. The highland fair sound fun.
Carol - happy Anniversary
Allie - you deserve this so much! Have a wonderful trip!
Lanette - we are in Drumheller, Alberta. There are many activities and sights for dinosaur stuff.
Tonight we are at a Ghost Town called Rowley. The last Saturday of each month they have “Pizza Night”. It is their main fundraiser to restore the buildings and maintain the ones they have restored. 15.00 for a pizza, the saloon had two adult beverages for 10.00. There is a live band.
Pip - sorry your niece is not helping her daughter.
Barbie - I hope your niece’s home survives.
