9/15-166-There was a wonderful antipasto salad and spinach dip at the guild meeting. Rode the horse early while it was cool. Trying to figure out if I should go to my dads today or tomorrow for the weekend; it takes four hours to get there and I can get so much done around here if I wait until tomorrow morning. DH is gone on a fishing trip and I am getting a lot accomplished without any interruptions…..6 -

9/14. Yesterday I decided to take this not so seriously… Just continue tracking my calories /macros and go about my normal day. My activity was way down yesterday because I didn’t play tennis… and spent the afternoon helping a friend. I ate 1376 cal. I’ll be curious if I gain weight at that rate. I figure any possibility to reach my goal for R235 is futile…. Still tracking macros and water is on target.
This morning, I’ve walked 5k steps and have 500 exercise calories burned so far. No food yet… Going to lunch with my husband and will be mindful of my choices. Burgers tonight with my grandson… No bun for me! We will be low-key walking round-trip to the local high school football game so I’m sure I’ll get my 12.5k steps in… no food after 6pm. A good IF start. Tomorrow morning we’re waking up early and taking our grandson to the local state park to ride bikes, frisbee, golf, and hiking the 6 mile loop. Planning good food choices all weekend! Most importantly, I’ll have a smile in my heart!
Still hoping to continue toward 128 just not putting so much pressure on myself! ⚖️tomorrow! All of you continue to inspire me!
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

9/13 Good day yesterday I did everything I was supposed to do except I had one vodka cocktail (with Lacroix & lime) last night and some breadsticks. Still under 1350 cal counting expended exercise calories. I probably gained 5lbs. Planning a long walk today and some strength training/weights. As I review my journal, it looks like I’m eating a little bit more every day… Still eating healthfully and in line to lose weight but I’m not sure what my body is doing. As I write this, I’m a little down, but not out. Headed for some prayer time and reading positive affirmations.
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

9/13. Solid day yesterday. Had to eat exercise calories yesterday-total of 1926. Stayed on goal except for last pack of Belivita cookies…. 😏😈Thank God, our pantry is now void of all temptations!
Yesterday: on the court for 215 min, 12k steps, 1500 exercise calories…. Hamburger patty for pre-match protein and another breakfast after tennis match last night. Slept well. Hit macros (not counting the cookies😅.) I have a solid attitude going into my day… Food and activities planned.
NSV: Cannot think of any new ones this morning, except that I continue to feel better and somehow - am not too discouraged.
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

9/12 ⚖️ 137.8
WHY?! This is why I hate the scale. I was actually looking forward to looking at with the scale how to say. But WTH?
I really should be at 135ish. I don’t understand.
So I’m just gonna ignore it like it didn’t happen.
Yesterday stats: 208 exercise minutes, burned 838 exercise calories, consumed 1209 calories, Macros ✅, 13k steps. Tons of 💦.
I have another tennis match this morning (and evening) and will complete 12.5k+ steps. Yesterday, I was feeling good, motivated, and accepting reality that my metabolism is that of an old geezer. (It’s easier to address a problem once you identify the problem!). I’m not giving up …. Just a major adjustment to the length of time and the HARD WORK AND SWEAT it will take! And water-retention?! WHY?!
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

9/11 Yesterday: cleaned house and got organized. Down day. Dragging from long weekend. Decided to stay quiet and skip all activities listening to my body. I guess I just talked myself out of “doing”… Perhaps too much salt? Feeling burned out? No motivation yesterday…. 1100 cal. 6k steps. Drank tons of water and enjoyed watching the U.S. Open final. Went to bed early.
Big morning of tennis and steps planned for today. ( 👀— w/Increased activity goals, can I do it?!) I’m wondering if too ambitious? Shall see… Hiking trip in 5 weeks…. Will keep ⬆️ protein and drink TONS of 💦! … ⚖️tomorrow….
I’m beginning to realize /absorb/ accept that losing 1 pound every 10 days is pretty much equal to “maintenance”… I’m starting to realize that I have to maintain THIS MUCH CRAZY ACTIVITY while eating 1200 to 1400 cal a day to maintain?!?!!! This is a HUGE 💡realization. I’ve always known that as you get older your body needs less calories but this is a dramatic new finding for me to accept as reality. I looked at some old data and my actual BMR is between 1220 and 1250, not 1440 as I had first thought … this is a very scary thought… So the reason why I put on weight these last few months is not because I went on some wild gluttonous eating and drinking spree… It’s simply because my body has shifted into some type of geriatric hell hole… Can anyone identify? Can anyone prove me wrong?! Inquiring minds want to know!
In the meantime, I need to walk about 6 miles today to keep off a few eggs, a zero carb protein shake, and some cottage cheese. Welcome to my NEW world! 🤣
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

9/10 ⚖️ 137.4 Just a short recap for yesterday … Even though the scale went up, I had quite a good day yesterday…. I DID NOT hit all of my increased activity goals yesterday because of the ALL Day football game … I had enough sodium for an army … I do expect to flush out today…. (I had a bag of roasted salted peanuts at the game…. ) Temptation all around me so I’d say I got an “A” yesterday! 11k steps, 1476 cal, 80 exercise minutes, 677 exercise calories burned. TONS of water. But unfortunately, too much salt! It’s good to know in my head that there’s no way I actually gained weight yesterday … just retaining fluids!
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

9/9 Dinner out with good friends last night - pre planned splurge with one carb-free cocktail. Stayed 💯 through dinner then enjoyed dessert without guilt. Macros 🚫 but aware.
Today - headed to college game day festivities… Can’t imagine being tempted by anything today. 🤣 But I am prepared… Feeling good! (Will get a workout in this morning!) Lots of 💦 today!
🤔I would sincerely like to get to 128 for my 65th birthday… ( 10/17) But based upon my results thus far, I doubt I’ll get there … it’s simply been ultra slow. It’s just reality. Whatever it takes AND however long it takes. If it takes 2 to 4 weeks longer, I’m good. 🙌🏻 Will keep at it!
Good Luck Everyone! 🍀🍀🍀
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

61 year old female, 5’5”. I am married, semi-nomadic (we live in three states, Mass, Maine, Florida).

SW MFP Sept 14, 2020 – 153 (lost 40, then stress took off another 2.2 lb with low of 120.8, then stress became gain)
SW MFP Jan 1, 2023 – 146.6
GW Maintaining between 124 - 126
Continuing to figure out maintaining, and to work on best nutrition and exercise.
History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse. A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

Day/Weight/Comment
9/9 – 126.2 so off to a wild start for the round. Yesterday was a wild ride. Was at my parents’ assisted living (20+ minutes away) when DH calls and said that a crazy storm came through at our townhouse – high winds, objects hitting windows, and hail. It was actually time for me to leave, and I said I would carefully head home via back roads, which I assumed would be best. Well as I drove, I encountered closed road after closed road. After 2 ¼ hours of driving, I got near out home, but every road was blocked. I ended up parking my car at a church two miles from home and walked the rest of the way. I was way luckier than many, like those with crushed cars, or those in cars, but trapped BETWEEN two blockages with no way out. Of course, we have no power, so riding that out as well. Posting this from my phone, so not my usual style post. But feeling very fortunate as I know this will pass. For me, this is an inconvenience. I am lucky!!
9/10 – 126.8 Having no power in my home since 3 pm friday, is adding to making poor dining choices. Drove to my parents’ hoarded, but unoccupied house, early this am to get a shower and blow dry my hair.
9/11 – 126.8 Got power back late in the day. I am happily shocked to see no further damage. Trip is two weeks from today. Two weeks to practice healthy habits again, and get them re-established. I had expected this whole round to have proper focus, then I got the Friday afternoon surprise. I certainly could have handled it better, but such is life. Pre-tracking my day today. Advance planning is key for me.
9/12 – 127.8 not the right way!!!!
9/13 – 127.0
9/14 – 127.2 I think this number is becoming real. Could be ok, but would rather about 2 lb lower
9/15 – 127.4 Typically I am doing well until about 9 PM, then I am allowing myself (meaning I actively know I am making poor decisions) to binge. I know once I break the cycle, that will become the new norm again. Just having trouble getting over that hump after too many days of bad choices.

09/14 -191.0- (Trend weight 192.9) Guess who went out of town, ordered from a restaurant, had a large ice cream cone with my son for dessert and DIDN’T GAIN EVEN AN OUNCE? Uh um, that would be ME! I’m so proud of me today! I ordered fish even though I really wanted a greasy burger, didn’t even eat half of my meal and allowed for a splurge ice cream cone in my macros so I could stay under. I don’t know if I can always accomplish this but I did yesterday and that’s what counts today. One day at a time, right? I think other things came together for me too: Good TMI, extra sleep last night and I stuck to a normal common healthy snack last night so as not to blow the rest of the day. Too tired to get in much exercise, but overall, I call this a definite successful travel day. That's big for me, my friends. I'm usually like a kid in a candy shop when I get to a real town with real choices!
09/15 -189.8- (Trend weight 192.6) I FREAKED OUT when I saw the scale, I won’t lie. But I knew yesterday was an on target day but nothing extra special. The 180’s my friend by the skin of my teeth. 180’s!!!! Of course, you all know that I don’t consider myself in a new decade unless I hit the 7 (187 point anything) due to normal fluctuations that can land me up to two point anything pounds higher (like no TMI or sodium fluid retention). So I will bide my time, keep going and NOT practice my usual self-sabotage when I’ve seen progress. Happy Dancing here!

9/9 - 333.9 (-2.9)

9/11 - 333.1 (+0.7) - I had two large meals yesterday, so this really isn’t surprising. I did get my walks in though, which was nice. I also did some core work. I struggled with depression pretty heavily yesterday, so proud of what I did, even though it has led to a plus on the scale
9/12 - 333.3 (+0.2) - Overate a bit the day before, actually happy with this turn out, expecting more of a gain
9/13 - 330.2 (-3.1) - Whoosh! There went all the water weight I gained over the last two days, plus a little more down. Mostly rested on the 12th, but I do manage to push through the depression to get some housework done. I finally did some laundry! I also finally got the quarters for it yesterday. LOL Met with my dietician this morning. We decided my homework is to do some meal planning for the rest of the week, and I am to email it to her, today.
9/14 - 331.7 (+1.5) - Slept really poorly.
9/15 - 329.1 (-2.6) - I got a good night’s sleep. I cooked a homemade soup that was delicious! I managed to get in a nice trip around my block (which is just about 1/2 a mile/0.8 km). I finally, yesterday, finished off my meal plan and sent it off to my dietician.

If you're hating the journey to a healthier you, that isn't healthy - even if you hit your goal.
Daily Details:Sat.09.09:
I noticed yesterday that the cravings I’d been having throughout the past year or so are pretty much gone. The dietitian chalked it up to the insufficient calories and lack of protein, so since remedying both of those, I can really notice a difference. I do keep a big bar of dark chocolate in the fridge if I’m wanting something sweet, but I’ve used it more to quickly add on some calories rather than because I was craving it.
Busy day today, I've decided I want to move some things around and reorganise the girls' living room and make a more permanent workout space in my office. I currently have everything stored in the girls' living room and have to take it out and put it away anytime I want to use it- which leads to me using it less.
Sun.10.09:
Busy day. Grocery shopping, food prepping, etc.
Mon.11.09:
Well, I expected this. Yesterday was an off day. My daughter and I went to the shops first thing in the morning to find we were about 45 minutes too early and nothing was open except a few cafes and a small asian grocer. She bought some Japanese candy, and I had two pieces, because they’re my favourite and actually aren’t too high in added sugar. Which would have been fine, except that’s what I started my day with and it was about 3 hours earlier than I normally open my eating window. Then my partner came home from his weekend trip and hadn’t eaten the sausages that he took, so those became lunch. Dinner took longer to cook than expected so I didn’t close my window until an hour later than usual. Overall, I was within my calorie target - just - at about 1580 calories. My macros were fairly close as well. But it was the quality of the food I ate yesterday (apart from dinner) that was lacking. The worst part is I didn’t even *enjoy* the poor choices. The sausages were an instant regret. I should have made myself something I would have enjoyed and would have been healthier anyway, but I was being lazy as I still had to go grocery shopping and get all my meal prep done, and get dinner started. Lesson learned. It’s a new day.
Tues.12.09:
TOM’s coming in a few days. Which explains a lot. I have my Australian Citizenship interview and test this afternoon, which I’m also a bit stressed about. It’s really not supposed to be that difficult but I’m bad enough with American government even though I grew up learning about it in school, so I’m hoping the test is mostly “common sense” answers. Hopefully I can avoid any hormonal or stress eating today.
Weds.13.09:
Good breakfast and lunch yesterday. Then I ended up getting a coffee frappe after my interview. Not sure if it was the sugar or milk, but it didn’t agree with me so I closed up my eating window early after that. Too far under in calories, and macros were off. It doesn’t undo my good choices prior to that, and didn’t carry on to other poor choices later in the day.
Thurs.14.09:
Yesterday was such a good day all around. Healthy food choices, though my macros were a bit off because I burnt the quinoa I was meant to have with dinner. I got my workout area in my office finished up and did a workout last night, as well as my stretching routine. In LOVE with my new bench, though I did buy a new set of resistance bands as I used the one it came with for rowing last night and it has hardly any resistance.
Fri.15.09:
Don’t think I’ll hit my goal weight for this round, but we’ll see. Yesterday was good. 40 minute workout and some shoulder mobility stretching. Ended the day a bit below calorie target so I [had] to have an extra dark chocolate. I’ve been going through them pretty quick the past few days actually, maybe my body preparing for TOM’s arrival. As I hadn’t been craving them until around Tuesday or Wednesday.
Going dirtbike riding with my partner tomorrow, then he’s taking me out to dinner. It’s a cute local place that does semi-fine dining, but when I jumped on to have a peek at the menu, I realised they’re changing it as of today and they don’t have the new menu on the site yet. It’s definitely the type of place that cooks their steaks in a butter bath, so I think I’ll just play it safe and keep most of my day low carb and low fat, so I don’t have to worry about what I’m choosing for dinner - and can just pick whatever looks good! How do you guys all go about logging when you’re eating out at a place that doesn’t have nutrition info listed anywhere?
Sat.16.09:
Finally out of the 90’s! Woohoo! Busy weekend as usual. Hope everyone has a good one!

I'm in for another ten days.
Jen; 46; 5'4"
About Me:This is my seventh round and really appreciated having someplace to stay accountable.
Thanks to a medication I'm on for my mental health and an overeating habit, I managed to gain a lot of weight in the last year or so. On July 4, I stepped on the scale for the first time since I started the med (that is known to cause weight gain) and decided enough was enough. I buckled down and started actually recording my food for the first time in over five years and started walking every day. Now I need motivation to keep going.

* walk for at least one hour and/or 3 miles every day
Round 235
heaviest: 294 (7/4/23)
SW: 248.2
GW (short term): 235
RGW: 245
9/9 - 247.2 - 3.69 miles - Took a walk from downtown along the river to a park by the marina and then back. It was a nice stroll even though it was a bit warm when we left. It was nice to get out of the neighborhood for once. I haven't been to the riverfront since before Covid so it was nice.
9/10 - 247.0 - 3.39 miles - Got my walk in a little late but manged to get home before it started getting really hot. I also hit most of the pokegyms in the neighborhood. I hadn't been playing much lately because I didn't feel like stopping at the gyms but I got 3 of the 4 (last one had a raid going on and that takes too long to deal with). Had a premade salad for lunch which was actually pretty filling considering it was lettuce, some turkey and ham and then I added onion and grape tomatoes. Then I had a burger and fries for dinner. I still have enough calories left to have some mango sorbet for dessert.
9/11 - 247.4 - 3.24 miles - Hmm... my weight seems to be stuck at 247. I knew this would happen eventually but I was hoping to be closer to 240 when the weightloss stalled out. I have been snacking a little bit more lately. I have Ritz Crisps, Veggie Straws and reduced fat Wheat Thins that I go back and forth with because I crave salty snacks like chips and these seem to help. But I've been having full servings which are around 130 calories. I'm going to go back to just having a half serving which is enough to get through my cravings. We'll see how that goes.
9/12 - 246.4 - 4.25 miles - Walked to the store again today. I had prescriptions to pick up so thought why not while the weather is still nice. My knee started aching about halfway through. Not sure why. It's barely bothered me since I lost all this weight but today it decided 4+ miles was too much. Hopefully it feels better in the morning so I don't have to cut my walk short tomorrow (I'll just be doing my regular three miles).
9/13 - 245.6 - 3.14 miles - Knee was still sore and stiff this morning but I still managed three miles. I was pretty worn out when I got home. That doesn't happen too often anymore. I also have been getting woken up early every day by one of our new kittens (about 4 or 5 months old) that usually sleeps in my room. She seems to think 6am is the perfect time to wake up every morning and starts batting at my head. I can usually hold her off a bit but I've mostly been getting up by 6:30 for the last couple weeks because she's so insistent on attention. I think it's catching up to me because I've been so sleepy the last couple days, especially after I spend all my energy walking.
9/14 - 246.4 - 3.13 miles - Ugh. I'm even more sore today. My knees and ankles and hips are so stiff. I mean, it's not as bad as it was when I was nearly 300lbs, but it still sucks. I've been trying to increase my pace because my average speed is 2.5 miles per hour I guess. But I think I'm just pushing too hard because I keep straining muscles all over my feet and legs. I guess I'll have to tone it down some this weekend so everything isn't hurting all of the time.
9/15 - 245.6 - 2.86 miles - My day was all messed up. I had to babysit my grandson in the morning so I couldn't go for my walk. Then my husband got home from work and decided we needed to have a surprise conversation about our relationship. He finally left me alone around 2pm, and by then it was in the upper 80s with a heat index in the mid-90s so it was too hot to walk. It was still in the low 90s at 7pm when I finally set out. But it quickly got dark although it was still really warm. I got back at 8:25. I walked for a little over an hour but it wasn't quite three miles. It's been a long day.

SW Round 235
9/9 - 333.9 (-2.9)
9/10 - 332.4 (-1.5)
9/16 - 329.8 (+0.7) - Slept a decent amount. Stayed on plan the day before. Woke up with depression again. I’m hoping to push it aside in a couple of hours. Laundry to do this morning and other chores. Looking forward to a productive day

So close yet so far a way- I touched what I think is my goal weight last round then soared back up the scale and worked so hard to get back to my beginning. I have to travel for work all this week so no scales of any kind, out to eat for all my meals, and I just really was forming the tracking habit... reforming as I develop the habit- succeed and then for some stupid reason stop... So goals these 10 days will be to close my apple rings- even with traveling. and then last 5 days to track, track, track and weigh, weigh, weigh again...to end of round

9/9 - 119-you just never know- had several glasses of wine - and several of my protein cookies late last night was sure I was going start bad again. But great pickleball last evening, wonderful games- I am in an apple watch challenge and my close friend and I are on the same apple watch challenge team. we were playing last night until she closed her rings- made no sense I seemed to close my rings a game before she did but we play so well together - had so much fun- I hope we will partner up again in future but because of my injury and going back to work that may not work out. Bummer for me- but over it now- as off to play pickleball this morning with a large group 12-16 of us probably only 12 at 8:30 by 9 16 or more- this will be fun.

9/16 -117.4 WOW!! Was so nervous to step on scale so many days away...Was prepared for 122 or so. I did workout at hotel gym every night and was there one night I was there way after 10 which is after 11 my timezone. I so wanted to get my calorie goal and exercise minutes in ( I recruited another woman to my apple watch exercise challenge team so I wanted to showcase how well our team does- a little conceit on my part)...I do not knowhow to explain weight loss- I did eat decadently, but i did not snack during day- well because itwas impossible. I am going to focus on maintenance now and see if I can find that balance of calorie consumption and exercise.

9/15 ⚖️ 137.0 I guess my big whoosh was at the end of R234… weighing 136.2! I missed it! I missed the celebration! Now I’m just hoping to be 136.2 by 9/18. I don’t feel anything. No 🎢. No ups or downs just a listless FLATLINE! 😐 I won’t let it ruin my day. Spending most the day with my grandson being very active at the park so It will be a beautiful day!
NSV: My clothes continue to fit better, I can see my collarbone, I still feel better… I keep looking like I’ve lost a tiny bit of more weight even though it’s not off the scale…
Maybe this is what my world will be. I don’t like the feeling of feeling restricted 🚫 or being deprived. I guess my goal is to shift feeling like I’m restricting my intake to celebrating the actions of taking care of myself! Try to reach the point that the taste of delicious food is simply not that satisfying … that happy taste buds are meaningless… feeling HEALTHY is better than a short-term vice! I have to remember that clean feeling ….
Let’s get my good feelings and the love of different foods from a different source. (But seriously… What could be better than margaritas and chips and salsa? )
Maybe God is letting me experience “maintenance… before I get to maintenance” Maybe this is what TRUE maintenance feels like…. But I still have 8+ pounds to go!
I’m just thinking that in writing 👆🏻 I still know deep down, I’m on the right track… My goal has always been to trust the process and that is what I’m going to do… I WILL keep moving forward making healthy choices. I’m actually very proud of the last 48 days even though the scale doesn’t show as much as I had hoped for or EXPECTED based on what I consider Herculean efforts! I’m going to think positive thoughts today, and be grateful because I am!
Let’s do this! 💪🏻🙌🏻

This morning, I’ve walked 5k steps so far and have 500 exercise calories burned so far. No food yet… Going to lunch with my husband and will be mindful of my choices. Burgers tonight with my grandson… No bun for me!
Still hoping to continue toward 128 just not putting so much pressure on myself! 135. ⚖️tomorrow!

9/16 – 125.2 Fell asleep on the basement couch while watching TV with DH. No late night misbehaving. Everything during the day was fully tracked.

My weight seems to have stalled the last few days. Hopefully, it will start moving again soon in the right direction.
9/13: 301 (-3.4 lbs)
Finally, over the plateau and I've passed my goal for this round. (by one lb)Just two more pounds and I'll be in the 200's. It would be so nice to finally be out of the 300's and I should be able to accomplish this by the end of this round. Hopefully, 😸
9/14: 301 Seems to be every time I lose weight, there will be a day or two that I stay at that weight. But, at least it's not a gain, which I'm happy about. I guess this is what happens when you weigh daily at least for me. I did really good on my eating yesterday, and stayed will below my daily calorie amount.
9/15: 299 (-2 lbs) Yesssss! Finally down in the 200's. 😸😂
I don't buy unhealthy food or snacks to keep in my home. Because, I'd mindlessly snack if upset about something. Most food I buy (except dairy) has to be cooked, before it can be eaten. I do this to keep from mindlessly snacking, which is what I've done in the past, when I'm either upset or overly tired and don't feel like cooking. However, it's not to say I don't snack, I allow myself one or two snacks (treats) once in awhile, in individual packages, as long as it doesn't cause me to go over daily calorie intake.
9/16: 299 Won't be weighing in tomorrow. Hopefully, last day of this round will show a lose.

Hello, I am 54, 5'9" and am making a switch from Weight Watchers to MFP. This is my 2nd round. During the first round my goal was the habit of tracking and being more mindful of what I was eating. This round I'm adding exercise. 🤞and finishing my postings 🥴

Round goals: track, move
Goodbye 230's!! 👋
9/9 - 228.6 (woj 2.3 miles)
Ending round 234 almost at goal with tracking only. Getting ready to head out for a walk, yard work and painting today. Family dinner tomorrow all planned out with as many healthy recipes as possible 🫶
9/10 - 226.6 ⬇️ (did not meet activity goa)
Wow! I anticipated a little loss but this was a pleasant surprise 😁 Wogged (walk/jog) 2.3 miles last evening with my 16 yo DS who is a cross country runner. No pressure 😂
Family dinner is today and I have planned a healthy meal that's easy to track, except dessert 🫣 My plan is to do dishes while they have dessert and to send all dessert left over items away with the fam 🫶
It's going to be a challenge to get activity in with baking and a 2 hour orientation for a scholars program for the DS, but we will keep our fingers crossed!
9/11 - 227.5 ⬆️(jogged 1.5 miles)
Scale went up, as expected after family dinner. Healthy meals but the dishes plan didn't work and I indulged in dessert along with 2 unplanned beverages. I did get my one hour worth of activity in the yard as planned so that was good. Planning a short run for the day and back to work after 10 days off for bereavement and I'm not sure how I feel about that. I am prepared to either battle the want to stress eat or make sure I do eat. I have a tendency to swing to one extreme or another 🥴
9/12 - 227 ⬇️(didn't meet activity goal)
Scale is heading in the right direction! If I can keep this pace I will meet and maybe pass my goal 🫣 I think I have found a decent breakfast that helps kick later day sugar gravings to the curb. I'm sure it is not the best choice available and not clean eating, but a Blueberry Cliff Bar has hit the spot and kept sugar cravings at bay so far this round. Yesterday ended well below calorie goal without feeling deprived so that's a win 🏆 And I was able to shave 30 seconds of my running pace 🥇We have decided to run the Thanksgiving morning 10k this year. Yes we are that kind of family 🤣 So, I have a goal to help me meet my other goal! Woohoo! Raining today and we are at home working now due to Covid in our office so I will need to get some creative movement going. Wish me luck!
9/13 226.7⬇️ (fast walk 2.5 miles)
9/14 227.6⬆️
Well well. Two things. 1) can't remember why I didn't log/post yesterday other than life. 2) What the heck with the scale???? Something feels very unfair lol! Last night I am dragging out my husband to walk to try to find a new route to bump my 2.5 miles to a 3 miler while staying somewhat in our neighborhood. We live inner city so I personally prefer to stay close. We were pumping it out! 🏃♀️💨 At one point he said if you go any faster we will be running 😆 I remember thinking man the scale is going to look good tomorrow 😁 I can't wait to see that 225!! And then this garbage?!? What the heck?? The injustice of it all!! So....rant over....I'm going to start to post my activity to see if there is some connection. The only other thing I see is through my Garmin, the amount of calories earned and given versus consumed. I may want to see if the amount of the deficit plays a part as well. In my mind a deficit is a deficit and you shouldn't be gaining for goodness sake. But at 54 who knows what is happening 🤦♀️🤷♀️ Sorry for the long rant! If you've stayed this long and there are any theories as to what I may want to try to do or things I should look for, send em my way!! 🤗
9/15 229.1 ⬆️ 🤷♀️ Clueless. I can't even say I can attribute this to a good binge or night out.
9/16 228.2 ⬇️
Yesterday, after weighing in, I just gave in. I quit worrying about the scale because I'm doing everything I can to make positive changes right now. I kicked the scale around a little bit, but that is another story lol and I focused on how I felt. I felt strong, I'm standing taller, I'm able to run up all the steps without being winded, I have energy, I get full faster and don't binge, I get excited about wogging and miss it when I don't. So all being said, I must be moving in the right direction even if the scale wasn't coming along. Then this morning, there it was, a little glimmer of progress. I probably won't meet my round goal this time but that's ok. I'm moving in the right direction 🤗

Happy Saturday!
9/10 - 186
Booker is leaving today, going back to his breeder. I’m very sad, but also relieved. I hadn’t realized until now how stressed I’ve been worrying that he’d hurt DH, who’s 88 but thinks he’s still much younger. All in play, of course, no aggression, but that doesn’t make getting knocked down any nicer. Anyway, I haven’t worried too much about what I’m eating the past couple of days but will start the new week on a new footing. I plan to take a very long nap after they leave, probably after ugly crying. Enjoy your Sunday, everyone.
9/11 - 186.2
I didn’t overindulge too much yesterday despite being sad. It will be odd to take my walks dogless, but off I go.
9/12 - 186.4
Yesterday I felt a UTI coming on, so I got some unsweetened cranberry juice and have been pushing that and water. But I know I’m retaining water. Every time I have a sudden relief from stress, I get sick within a couple of days. So weird. “Ok, now you have time to get sick.” Umm, no I don’t! Anyway, feeling better today, but still pushing the juice and water.
9/13 - 186.6
Yesterday was good, with nice low calories and no late-night snacking. I still feel a bit waterlogged, but hopefully that will resolve soon. I’m going to visit a friend I haven’t seen in about 18 months this afternoon, no I’ll skip lunch because she will no doubt have goodies. I’ll try to restrain myself. Fortunately I’m making my bread-free salmon patties for dinner with steamed broccoli, so that will me high protein, low calories. I feel much more in control of myself, no doubt because I’m not worried about the pup hurting DH in his boisterousness. I’m also sleeping better and waking up earlier.
9/14 - 186.6
I still feel like I’m retaining water and can’t imagine why. Weird. Anyway, we have another gorgeous fall day here, so I’m off for a walk on the river greenway. I haven’t been there in a while.
9/15 - 186.6
Caved in yesterday to my craving for chili cheese Fritos, but I didn’t overdo it. My calories were higher than desired, but not crazy high, so it’s fine. DH and I are off in a few to watch my friends run their dogs in our club’s agility trial.
9/16 - 186.6
Stuckity stuck stuck. Yesterday at the agility trial I saw a friend who used to be really heavy—she’s now beautifully slim. She’s been going to the weight management program at one of the local hospitals, so I looked it up last night. Looks interesting. One of the shockers, though, was the BMR calculator on the website. It calculated my BMR as 1,003 per day, which is much lower than others I’ve used—so I tried 5 others and they all calculated my BMR between 1300-1700. And yes, I know we need to eat more than BMR unless we’re in a coma, but still…. On the one hand that might explain why I can’t seem to lose even when I stay within my target calories. On the other, eek, that means I really have to cut back more. Anyway, I’m going to look into the program. This group is great, but maybe I need some in-person support.

SW 134.0
GW 129.9
Goals:
IF 12-8 pm; try for 64 oz of water before 5 pm and make it by 8pm; Track steps and aim to increase activity level.
9/9 133.2 IF 12-8 pm. 64 oz of water is hard to do by 5 but I did it by 8pm. One hour of cycling felt good. I didn't have any sweets or added sugar. One glass of wine.
9/10 133.0 IF 12-8pm. One hour of gentle cycling in the morning. Afternoon hike. Water and activity goals met. Well balanced whole foods meals. TOM is coming so I'm hoping for a significant drop with it.
9/11 DNW this morning. Morning hike and strong show of will power all day until bed time when I got serious sugar cravings. Two muffins and then sleep. TOM woke me up today so I need to FORCE myself to be physically active today.
9/12 132.2 - made surprisingly healthy choices yesterday and went for an afternoon hike to help with cramps.
9/13 - 131.0 woohoo! I did not expect that. I hope it sticks tomorrow. No outside activity yesterday but I did 40 minutes of strength training at home and healthy food choices. Water and routine with food make a big difference.
9/14 - 129.4 my mind is blown! Last night I was snacky but healthy choices and kept calories under 2000... at 1999, lol. That feels very lucky having logged everything after the snack attack ended. Very little movement. My body was tired. I'll treat yesterday as a rest day and get back to it this evening with a hike.
9/15 - 129.0 not too much snacking but I'm still working on getting rid of it. No hike but good strength training. Wish there was a low calorie peanut butter. I've been freezing banana slices with peanut butter as a dessert. I love everything about it except having to control myself because they're so good and I have to remember how calorie dense pb is.
9/16 - 129.0 had an oddly easy day yesterday sticking to my meal prepped meals and snacks and even though I thought my strength training was light, my quads are tender! Funny how the slight change to side lunges instead of regular static lunges woke up those muscles in a very different way. Good reminder of why changing up the exercise is important. Happy Saturday, everyone!

9/16-DNW-Went to my dads and got there early evening. We sat at his kitchen table and had drinks. Finally we decided to eat and I knew he had BBQ meat leftover and I brought my mashed cauliflower (I wanted him to try it and he really liked it). We also had tomatoes that our friend grew, so we sliced those up. It was a good, healthy meal. Then I gave him cut up figs with cream on them and he really liked that. I told him that is what his aunt used to make for me when I would visit her. It was fun to just hang out with him. Tonight we are having people over and three of us are making three different kinds of halibut cakes and my dad is making his halibut dip. These are some of the people we went fishing with. It should be fun,
