Hello my names Brenda and live in Muskoka Ontario Canada 6 months and Bluffton South Carolina 6 months. Two grown children, one married and one teaching in the uk, and our 11 1/2 year old white lab Tucker. I lost 45 lbs and kept it off but itβs starting to creep. Iβm committing to weighing in daily. We have company starting tomorrow for the week , not a great time to start but there never is.

Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight. During September I entered my "Normal" BMI category and am now about 10 pounds from my ultimate goal. This will be my 3rd month in this challenge. I had never weighed myself daily before this challenge, and I am finding it to be so helpful and informative to weigh and check in daily.
My goal for November is to NOT GET DERAILED BY THANKSGIVING. π¦ π₯§ π Let me tell you, I can really get derailed by a holiday. I may or may not log on Thanksgiving or the day after, and that's OK. But my Thanksgiving goal is to log daily from Saturday the 25th through the end of the month.
Starting weight September 1: 141.0 lbs
Starting weight November 1: 132.8 lbs
Goal for November: 130.4 lbs Considering Thanksgiving, I'm setting my goal a tad on the conservative side.

November 3: 131.4 I logged π Very happy with today's weight. Over the past week there have been several days that I ate at maintenance, and a couple days I ate well over maintenance. It was hard to tell if I was needlessly eating more, or if I really needed the additional calories. I've already got my activity level set to almost the highest one, and I haven't even gone running or done any exercise for over a week. I guess I walk constantly around the house, dealing with the children and doing housework, always on my feet, and I frequently have to do up and down the stairs to deal with something or put something away, so maybe that burns a lot sometimes. For a while there I thought I was "failing" because I could not hit my calorie goal.

November 18: 129.4 My scale is doing funny things. I'm not sure how accurate it is. At first it said 131.8 which is possible but unlikely (if the other readings this month were correct). So I got on again and it said 129.4 twice, so I'll go with that. But then I got on again about 30 minutes later and it said 127.0. That's highly unlikely also. Wondering if my scale is just not very good anymore.
November 19: 128.2 ??? Again, I have a hard time believing this is correct. I might fiddle around with my scale, look into calibration like ManifestingToday suggested, or replace the batteries. First it said 126.6! No way. Then it said 127.0. Then it said 128.2 three times. My guess would be that 130-131 is more accurate. But I don't know. Another note-- yesterday was full of surprises. The day did NOT go as planned. Calorie counting and all cares for weight loss ended up out the window. Ended up going to a restaurant and just eating a lot. So I expected to see a weight gain, if not from extra calories then at least water retention. I'm wondering if I did have a gain but my scale is off and not reflecting it. Or I could actually have had a loss like it says. π€·ββοΈ Well, I will just keep on with the usual logging, stick to my plans, and hopefully figure out what's up with my scale.
November 20: 131.6 I logged π I am not super happy with my scale right now. Yesterday after I posted here, I turned it over and did not find any recalibration ability, but there is a button to change to kg. So I pushed it a couple times and set it back on pounds. Put it back down again, hopped back on and it said 131.4 I think. I think today's reading is probably pretty accurate..... It's a little disappointing to figure out that the scale has a 5-pound inaccuracy window. How am I supposed to know what's going on? I'll just keep logging and trying, and I'll keep getting on the thing every day and try not to worry too much about it. Let me know if any of you have any thoughts or advice on this.

November 23: 127.8 Happy Thanksgiving! Here are my goals from now to the end of the month: 1) Enjoy Thanksgiving today and don't worry about calories. No logging. 2) Don't worry about calories tomorrow either. Logging optional. 3) From Saturday through Nov. 30, my goal is to log daily and check in here daily. 4) If my calories are over for a while, to get back to my calorie goal by Nov. 30.

My body even became ravenously hungry. Starving really. I got up but when I looked at the alarm clock it said it was 2:45 a.m. No one needs to eat that late, especially when they are already in bed. So I promptly got back in and covered back up. If the clock had said 8:30 pm, I must admit that I would have had a huge slice. Or shall I say slab? Iβll likely travel today to do some birthday shopping for DGS. Not in the mood to see the 180βs on the scale again tomorrow, though. Especially as a final weigh-in for the challenge.

Stress and my undiagnosed ADD has gotten the best of me these last couple of weeks. I'm sorry I have not been very supportive and disappeared again. I found out that the job offer from the State did not have a start date and with my seasonal job ending next month, I needed to find something that I could count on, so I took the next job offered to me. I start today, so I am trying to create some new routines with this new start!

Nov 2: DNW - π 4K Steps Tough day for eating and exercise yesterday. It was our monthly visit to my husband's 91 year old cousin who lives about 2 hours away. Leave at 5:30 AM - have breakfast and lunch with her (not good choices) and then a long drive back home later in the afternoon. We got back home at 6:00. Lovely visit, but it makes for a long day and I am exhausted when I get home. I hit the left over Halloween candy for dinner, no exercise at all, couldn't sleep (probably too much sugar). It's just a temporary situation (didn't I say that yesterday?)! Will get back to it today!

As a reward for making my 2,023 goal hubby said to get the new Garmin Fitness tracker that I have been eyeing. It came a couple of days ago and I've been trying to figure it out; wearing both the Fitbit and Garmin. Today will switch to totally Garmin. Hubby is getting the Fitbit.

I guess by body has gotten used to not eating like that. Right back at it today.

Nov 27: 166.4 π π£ππ₯ 17K Steps Woo Hoo getting there. I changed things up the last couple of days and it's working. I used @lauramavity7293 's method - I figured out the calories I needed to maintain my goal weight (at sedentary) and turned off the calories adjusted for exercise. I also have been drinking my water (my hardest thing) and intermittent fasting. Don't know if I could do it forever, but it looks like it is getting me to where I want to be for now. I'm going to try it from now until the end of December. I already know that December will be a see-saw month - so need to figure out how to overcome the "up" days. This looks like it might work!

βοΈI am down 5 pounds this month, moving from obese to overweight, and I met my 4-pounds a month goal. I adjusted my calorie limit (to what I need to maintain my goal weight at Sedentary) and turned off the adjustment for exercise. So far it has really worked for me. Thank you @lauramavity7293 for the suggestion. I needed to figure out something for the December craziness. I am down 63.4 from my starting weight.
ππ₯I logged and stayed under my calorie range most days in November, just missing a few days, and was under my weekly calorie range each week. I am not surprised, but I overdid Thanksgiving. I thought I was doing well, but clearly parties are still an issue. Couldnβt resist all the good desserts and the wine. Luckily it came off just as quickly as it came on β my new strategy worked there. I only missed one day of logging (Thanksgiving).
π£I logged over 250 miles in November, my biggest month yet. I met my 2023 miles in 2,023 on November 2nd and have almost 2300 miles this year. My new goal is to reach 2,500 by the end of the year. I increased my morning walk to 5 miles, and will do a 10K on Jan 1, 2024.
πI started the couch to 5K program, again, but had to quit - again. Just donβt think my knees and ankles can take it. Probably wonβt try again.
βI got a new fitness tracker in November; moved from the Fitbit family to the Garmin. I really like it. I think it is a little more accurate and can track all types of exercise. That being said, it took a lot to get used to it. I kept forgetting (still do sometimes) to start the exercise tracker. My Fitbit did it automatically (although quite often said I was on the elliptical when I wasnβt). Also, the battery life isnβt the same. I charge it every third night.
πI read the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes before going to see the movie. I really enjoyed them. I had read the book when it first came out, but reading a second time gave me insight that I missed the first time. I put down the knitting this month.
I will be changing my username shortly (when the Hogwarts challenge ends, and before the BLC and Hogwarts start back up). Been having some issues with friend requests and would rather not have my name in my username. Hoping it doesnβt cause issues with the MFP groups and friends. Look for πΆββοΈβ17kStepsADayβπΆββοΈ; Iβm thinking that will be me, and will be my goal for 2,024.
π€ΆβοΈπLooking ahead to December, it should be a very challenging month. I have a lot of social activities to get through (and enjoy). Iβm still going to keep my 4-pound weight loss goal but will be happy with what I get. Happy Holiday season everyone!

Hi All, I am a busy mother of five slowly working my way to my goal weight. During September I entered my "Normal" BMI category and am now about 10 pounds from my ultimate goal. This will be my 3rd month in this challenge. I had never weighed myself daily before this challenge, and I am finding it to be so helpful and informative to weigh and check in daily.
My goal for November is to NOT GET DERAILED BY THANKSGIVING. π¦ π₯§ π Let me tell you, I can really get derailed by a holiday. I may or may not log on Thanksgiving or the day after, and that's OK. But my Thanksgiving goal is to log daily from Saturday the 25th through the end of the month.
Starting weight September 1: 141.0 lbs
Starting weight November 1: 132.8 lbs
Goal for November: 130.4 lbs Considering Thanksgiving, I'm setting my goal a tad on the conservative side.

November 3: 131.4 I logged π Very happy with today's weight. Over the past week there have been several days that I ate at maintenance, and a couple days I ate well over maintenance. It was hard to tell if I was needlessly eating more, or if I really needed the additional calories. I've already got my activity level set to almost the highest one, and I haven't even gone running or done any exercise for over a week. I guess I walk constantly around the house, dealing with the children and doing housework, always on my feet, and I frequently have to do up and down the stairs to deal with something or put something away, so maybe that burns a lot sometimes. For a while there I thought I was "failing" because I could not hit my calorie goal.

November 18: 129.4 My scale is doing funny things. I'm not sure how accurate it is. At first it said 131.8 which is possible but unlikely (if the other readings this month were correct). So I got on again and it said 129.4 twice, so I'll go with that. But then I got on again about 30 minutes later and it said 127.0. That's highly unlikely also. Wondering if my scale is just not very good anymore.
November 19: 128.2 ??? Again, I have a hard time believing this is correct. I might fiddle around with my scale, look into calibration like ManifestingToday suggested, or replace the batteries. First it said 126.6! No way. Then it said 127.0. Then it said 128.2 three times. My guess would be that 130-131 is more accurate. But I don't know. Another note-- yesterday was full of surprises. The day did NOT go as planned. Calorie counting and all cares for weight loss ended up out the window. Ended up going to a restaurant and just eating a lot. So I expected to see a weight gain, if not from extra calories then at least water retention. I'm wondering if I did have a gain but my scale is off and not reflecting it. Or I could actually have had a loss like it says. π€·ββοΈ Well, I will just keep on with the usual logging, stick to my plans, and hopefully figure out what's up with my scale.
November 20: 131.6 I logged π I am not super happy with my scale right now. Yesterday after I posted here, I turned it over and did not find any recalibration ability, but there is a button to change to kg. So I pushed it a couple times and set it back on pounds. Put it back down again, hopped back on and it said 131.4 I think. I think today's reading is probably pretty accurate..... It's a little disappointing to figure out that the scale has a 5-pound inaccuracy window. How am I supposed to know what's going on? I'll just keep logging and trying, and I'll keep getting on the thing every day and try not to worry too much about it. Let me know if any of you have any thoughts or advice on this.

It all just reinforces the idea that I need to get myself in the healthiest state I can , to cope with what life gives you.

I actually had to start a new MFP account this year, because I had already changed my username once with my old account, and for whatever reason, MFP only allows you to change your username one time -ever. Some online people I knew in real life had figured out my old account was me, and I didn't like that someone was tracking my weight progress knowing who I was. So please, change your name to whatever you feel comfortable and confident with, but know you can't change it again after that.

My body even became ravenously hungry. Starving really. I got up but when I looked at the alarm clock it said it was 2:45 a.m. No one needs to eat that late, especially when they are already in bed. So I promptly got back in and covered back up. If the clock had said 8:30 pm, I must admit that I would have had a huge slice. Or shall I say slab? Iβll likely travel today to do some birthday shopping for DGS. Not in the mood to see the 180βs on the scale again tomorrow, though. Especially as a final weigh-in for the challenge.
11/30-No Post-(Trend Weight No Post)- My weight balloons up the day after travel. I donβt think itβs fair to end the month with the inflated water weight. It makes it look bad for November, but it also makes it start December with a temporary inflated number, then my weight loss looks way too big in December. Not fair or accurate on both counts. I will come back and post my weight tomorrow (a compromise ) and begin December with that also as a benchmark. Great job everyone during November. It is traditionally a very challenging month for so many of us. Itβs wonderful to see your different types of progress. See you tomorrow.

11/23 - 63.7 - Movement on the weight front π. Diet has been good. Managed a walk yesterday, though had to cancel gym appointment today due to something coming up. I plan to go tomorrow morning instead though. If I can, I'll go for a walk again today.

I don't think you have to rejoin your groups -- it think the system just changes your name across the board. But it's also been a while since I did this, so I'm not 100% sure. I tried to research it too, but didn't find the answer to that.
I did find out you can contact MFP if you need to change your name again for some reason -- they supposedly will help you. I wish I knew that with my old account. Oh well.
