12/23-168-Getting things done. MIL has bone marrow cancer and feels like she should stay home. We were going to keep the gathering small anyway because her immune system is very poor. We will make Christmas dinner and take it to her house. One son gets here today and one tomorrow; I’m excited to see them.[/quote]

@AR10at50 I am so sorry to hear about your MIL. Bless you for making sure she is still able to celebrate Christmas! I hope you will enjoy your time with your sons and that there will be many blessing for your family at Christmas this year.

Thrilled to be in my fourth Round. I haven't been this long in an eating routine in many years. Not sure why this is working for me. I know that Carbs are my weak point, so I have designed an eating plan that avoids or minimizes them. I try to shop for my plan daily at the same time. Holidays treats surround me. I am avoiding the places that will get me in trouble (staff lounge). This round I am adding water and tracking it. I may be a little dehydrated. Let's find out. Nothing changes if nothing changes.

I see some supportive comments under other peoples entries. How do you do that?

@GregoryStaley 1. Hit the quote button. 2. After you see their final sentence that ends in [ /quote] you can type the @ symbol and their screen name with no space (see your name at the start of my message in blue). 3. Now you may type your message to them next to their name. Then simply post your reply with the post button.

By the way, if you do not want to show all of their message, you may delete any parts of their message after you've hit the quote button. Just make sure you leave the [ quote ] that is at the start of their message and also leave their name with the series of numbers that is after it. Then go ahead and follow step 2.

I hope this is clear enough and doesn't sound too jumbled. I use a PC. I am not sure if it would be different on your phone.

Ran and walked yesterday and ate a healthy dinner. I did make PB blossoms and ate a few of those plus 1 giant raisin oatmeal cookie as opposed to 5😉. Ate a serving of veggies. First serving of veggies all week😳 Not much water yesterday like I pledged to myself.

Other than that, my Christmas extras will be mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, lots of French fried onions straight from the bag while I'm making the green bean casserole. Hopefully I won't backslide much. Just 10 more pounds. I know I can. I know I can.

    RND 245: My Journey ~ Round 2 of 40:
Whatever you are not changing, you are choosing. Read that again!

    :) F, 67, 5’4" ~ SW-231
Ultimate goal weight of 149lb at the end of RND 284

12/18~ Day 11 -227 ~ Ugh! Today, I chose wrong, change is needed.
~ Today was not a good day. Excuses aside, I ate poorly, didn’t exercise, and didn’t plan which was the goal I had for this round. Plan for tomorrow!

12/19~ Day 12 -227 Almost forgot to log in.
~ Well, the scale isn’t moving much, but it is early in round 2 so I’ll give myself some grace. I kept the basics in check and met my goals. Ready for sleep.

    12/20~ Day 13 -230 ~What the heck?
~This is frustrating and why I would normally quit. 13 days and I’m back where I started. But as usual, when I have an upset, I sabotaged myself tonight by going over the calories for the 1st time in 13 days. Hopefully, I learn from the error and figure out what keeps me from losing weight. I guess more effort is needed.

    12/21~ Day 14 -225.3 ~ That’s it, I need a new scale!
~ I woke up and weighed, It’s a miracle. Ha! So, I weigh something, but what? I will keep up with the plan until the new scale arrives and hopefully, it will be correct. I upped my walk to an hour today. I’m sure I’ll be hearing from my knee later, but tuff stuff, it needs to deal with it. I’m eating pretty well but still trying to up the fiber. Who would think it would be so difficult?

    12/22~ Day 15 -223.6 ~ Is it the holidays?
~ It’s a hard time of year. Sometimes not having children can be hard and I miss being around family. They are spread all over the country and as we age it is harder to gather. Sorry, on a downer tonight. It’s a lack of sunshine and family. The great thing about today is tomorrow is a brand-new day with all the possibilities of sunshine and success.

    12/23~ Day 16 -223.5 ~ The sun is shining!
~ I had a great walk today, now icing my knee. Spirits are up, we started planning for Christmas 2024 in Wyoming. So far, we have 4 of our families committed. Yet another reason to keep logging in and working on my health.

    12/24~ Day 17 -222.9 ~ Christmas Eve
~ I’m posting early today. I am unsure of how the day will end but have great expectations of success. I am planning for the pitfalls and perils of eating and laziness. I must say ‘Motivate thyself’ if I want to meet that first ten-pound goal before the end of 2023. I wish you all a beautiful holiday and a blessed new year.

    12/25~ Day 18 -??? ~
    12/26~ Day 19 -??? ~
    12/27~ Day 20 -??? ~

Challenge: ~ Planning: deciding in advance what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and that I should do it.

@GregoryStaley I have to ask - was any male relative a doctor in the AF? Our first daughter was delivered by Major Staley - I wish I could remember his first name! DD#1 will be 53 in 11 days.
