    I probably would have asked, "Why is a bratwurst more normal than a veggie pita?" And I really would have wanted to know, 'cause I don't get it. It's not like you'd been eating a live frog previously, or something.

    As a bonus, it would have either shut the other person up because they thought I was confronting them about it, or it would have opened up a conversation if they were trying to be funny or offhand. These are the tactics you learn when you eat with a highly multi-cultural group of people and everybody's food is weird to someone in the group.
