The new me....

Yep, the new me in 2024. Like every NY and resolution, gonna lose those extra kgs!
But this time I will!
I quit smoking 6 mths ago, so I know I have willpower.
I did of course add some weight when stopping smoking, that is normal. But now go get rid of that gain and then a few more on top would be ideal.
I started a couple of months ago, but using this app is blowing my mind about how bad some of the healthier food choices I thought I was making actually are.
Brown bread is better than white, but using this app showed that all bread is high in calories.
The healthy brown seed rolls I was buying had more calories than the doughnuts from the same bakery, and they already had the jam in!
So I am here to learn about portion sizes and calorie count.
5 kgs before end of March is the target!
Good luck to everyone here. It was a positive step to sign up, so keep the positive.

    Welcome!

It sounds like you're taking a good approach. Congratulations on making your life better by giving up smoking! That's no easy thing to do, and you did it.

How much do you have to lose? The end of March is 12 weeks away. If you have a significant amount to lose (more than that March goal), you can for sure do it. That's about 0.4 Kg per week, and that's difficult but for sure possible.

By all means, keep tracking and keep learning what your body likes. Give yourself permission to have a little bread from time to time if you won't eat the whole loaf. I can eat a whole loaf, so I just usually go get a bagel once every week or two. They know me - they get me a warm one off the rack in back. Just a plain bagel and I'm out the door.

Do also take a look through some of the "most important posts" to gain some good insights to help you along your journey. Things like these:
Then most important, keep sticking to it. Even if you feel your will power or motivation is waning, just keep doing it. I look forward to reading about your success.
