- Tracking to the best of my ability 🍎and staying under calorie budget -- Defining a higher calorie budget which will make the loss slower but again, more sustainable.
Also get rid of the oops factor. When targets are too low, it easy to say...Oops, I went over so I
might as well have...<fill in the blank>
Update: I increased my calorie budget and am having trouble meeting it with the right macros.
Update: I hit my protein macro once in the last 10 days.... it's hard!

1/17 133.0 I’m pleased with this but expect it to go up in the next day or two. I wanted something with crunch and ate 5 saltines with butter. Back “on the wagon” but no idea what is the snack/supper they are serving at bingo tonight.
1/18 134.5 I was weak. Did great with sub sandwich - pulled all of the soft white bread out and used the crusts to make my sandwich, added onion, tomato and lettuce. I should have stopped there but ate 2 bakery cookies. I’m okay with this though. I should be able to get rid of that quickly.

01/19 -DNW- (Trend weight DNW) Today is no-weigh Friday. Such cold freezing temps this morning to have to get DGS to the bus stop. It is just to the end of the block but we will drive. Taking my Fosamax with water while I get him ready since I have an hour for the process of that medication. Back to bed and then I will post later. Today he has ½ day because it’s the end of the marking period so I will meet the bus at about 12;10. The snack monster continues to chase me, but meals have been clean. I tried Zumba yesterday and stopped after about 15 minutes. I felt like an uncoordinated bumbling fool. And it’s not for the faint of heart either! Wow it’s different as you age and when you are out of shape! This seems much easier than the Richard Simmons I did years ago in the 80's. But that was 40 years ago so I guess I get it. I will try several different Zumba videos though and fit in into my rotation for a bit and see if my body can come around. I am looking to shake it up a bit.

I’m a 65 year young Oregon gal working on getting rid of those last 5-8 pounds. Last round I hit my first goal of 135, now working to hit my next goal of 130. The plan this round continues to be a minimum of 10,000 steps 👣, 2-3 days a week at the gym🏋️♀️, logging ✏️ everyday with no snacking after 8:00, and limiting the 🍷to social events only. And of course guzzling the water 💧!!!

1/17 170.6 ok, maybe my scales needs new batteries. Or maybe I'm dehydrated. Or both. Ate well yesterday. No exercise. Finally got out of the house for some fresh air and sunshine. Slept ok.
1/18. 170.6 ate well. No exercise but ran lots of errands, so at least some movement and some sunshine. Slept long and well. I looked back over some weight averaging, and I've been losing an average of 2 pounds a month for the last 5 months. I guess thats pretty good for this stage of the game.
1/19 172 i think yesterday's pasta lunch is showing. Didn't exercise but got out and shopped. Slept so well. Loving my bed these days.

1/19 : 164.2 lbs I need a plan for pizza night. We make small pizzas from scratch and the home made base is delicious but calorific. I think I will aim for 4 slices which is about 500 calories according to my calculations. I will eat slowly and mindfully with lots of sips of water in between. Last week I ate 6 slices which was way too much and I felt over full.

1/17 233 / Yesterday wasn't everything that I was hoping for it to be thanks to some unexpected news at night, but I stayed the course and didn't eat my feelings and it paid off on the scale.
1/18 231.4 / Been about a month since I've been at this weight. Woo hoo. Back at indoor soccer tonight.
1/19 233.2 / Soccer game was fun last night but we were terrible. Got some running around in an otherwise low step day. Today has been good - I am working from home so I got to use my lunch break to ride the Peloton. Love that.

Celebration season is over and looking forward to getting back into a normal routine - although what I thought was going to be a quiet weekend this weekend has suddenly become very busy. Winter Warrior Challenge #17 - 3 miles - still snow covered roads and extremely low wind-chills. 14 days left to go.
1/18 - 154.5 😩. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #18 - walked 3 miles to give mynlegs a rest. Roads are still snow covered, 17 degrees Fahrenheit,feels like 10 - felt warm compared to the past 4 days 😂
1/19 - 152.8 😯. Not sure how that happened, but happy to see it. Winter Warrior Challenge Day #19. Still snow covered roads (it's been too cold to melt) and super cold 🥶 but I got it done. On the downward slide “only” 12 days to go 🤪

I felt that way about hula. Then, on a hula dance site, I read that if you're learning to dance to a type of music that you're not VERY familiar with, you should just listen to the music daily until you become more familiar with it-- about 6 weeks, then start learning the dance. Now I not only hula, I do hip-hop, zumba, and I'll try any dance once. Well, maybe not break dancing-- not the spinning on my head part. Lol.6 -

Happy to see this challenge every time it comes out! Perfect time period for me. Thank You @QuiltingJane for a great idea. I can't explain why this challenge has worked for me when so many other methods have failed. Not dwelling on the why, just pushing ahead. Carbs and sugary food, for me, are my weakness. For me, they should be treated like Rat Poison. That's the mental image I try to remember. If I want to succeed I need to know and act on the Carb content of every fork-full.
Some time during this or the next round my hiking backpack and I will weigh less than I alone when I started this challenge last Thanksgiving. Ultimate goal: To start the Pacific Crest Trail in 2025, fit and 156 lbs!!!!!

@Corina1143 @Leigh_b Actually, I have always been quite a good dancer and often do aerobic dancing now. HOWEVER, when I dance, I CAN DECIDE where my hands go and how often. In Zumba it is pretty structured and I just felt so unaccordinated. I would definitely have to learn the actual moves! I'll give it a whirl off & on for the next few weeks (in shorter sessions) but if it don't work out, I'll just keep on with the regular aerobic dancing and make sure I use lots of crazy arm movements to up my heart rate. Thanks for the encouragement though! I'll give an update in a week or two!6

I guess it will be weights and stairs. I did meet the healthy eating (except sodium), calorie & water goals. So, I will call today successful.

1/18- 176.7 Comfort food tonight. Hamburger Helper Italian Basil Penne. High sodium, but within my calories.
1/19- 176.5 Coworkers suggested pizza from a local place for lunch. The restaurant doesn't have calories online, so I guesstimated with a mod pizza. That took most of my allotment, so good thing it was very filling. And delicious!

Hi all, it’s my third round. I’m going slow but at least it’s going down. I’m 34 years old and 164 cm (5’ 4.5”). The highest weight I saw on scale was 105.9 kg. I started on December 30, 2023 with 104.7 kg. I aim to lose 30 kg probably in 2 years, realistically. I just try to eat more vegetables, decrease carbs, increase protein, calorie deficit and go to the gym 3 times a week. I’m not very strict (I hate strict diets) I sometimes eat pizza and drink beer however I still try to be in my calorie limit. I am ok with losing it slowly but eating everything. I hope I can be consistent and this can be my lifestyle.

1/20- went to a favorite seafood restaurant last night where it was easy to choose well. I'm staying away from dangerous snacking,vacation munching and the usual restaurant pitfalls so even though I can't be totally accurate with counting it's easy to approximate. Our hike was wonderful- snowshoes this time and a long straight climb next to a large ravine with a bubbling brook. 45 minute climb, 45 minutes back.
1/19- very very cold in the Berkshires! The trail was an ice floe covered with about 2" of snow, so gripons instead of snowshoes. 3 miles, climb and back- very beautiful. Met our wood nymph along the way, she is always there to greet us. Dinner was blackened mahi tacos and a glass of wine; weight remained the same!

We leave this morning for a much-needed mini-vacation. Most years lately there's no snow, but we even have snow in NJ, so snowshoeing will be awesome! Deep freeze here- colder there! I hope the "high-calorie burn" climbing will offset the "high-calorie eating" breakfasts. I'll choose dinners wisely.

Reflections: Many want/need variety with meals - I don’t. I’m lucky. Quite comfortable with basically the same foods day-to-day. This was an evolution… has not always been true for me. Easy on my digestion. Makes daily decisions & grocery shopping effortless. Giving up sugar and processed foods the BEST decision of my life. Well on my way with food as fuel… No alcohol since NYE. Can count on one hand the number of times since July. Game-changer. No way I feel deprived. I actually feel free. Onward!

2020 through 2021, I fluctuated 132-140 lbs.
8/1/ 2022 crept up to 142lbs.
Dropped to 128lbs again by 9/30 then held 130lbs till 1/1/23.
2023 Back ⬆️ 145lbs by July 15! 15lbs BOOM! Enjoyed eating & margaritas way too much! Ive always eaten somewhat healthy BUT portion control is/was a huge issue. Started tracking 7/15. Joined “Just give me 10 days” R231 in beginning of 8/2023. Here we are @ 130 determined to…. be in the

The yo-yo is exhausting & unhealthy. Takes up way too much brain space.
I learned MY choices created an emotional 🎢 roller coaster with yo-yo weight and fitness. My forever goal is to maintain approx. 130lbs and IN SHAPE. Pretty clear that once I reached a goal weight I would then relax/ drift backwards. So glad 145lbs was the max over the last nine years.
I also noticed that as I age it becomes much, MUCH more difficult to lose weight. I could lose 15lbs easy in 8 weeks up to 2020ish … This is absolutely not true anymore!
While active with 🚶♀️& 🎾 it’s clear a ST routine is absent. Time to incorporate ST 🏋️♀️ as my TRUE focus.

History:Harry and Han are our cats, who travel with us. Have two “kids”, who are very much adults, a DGS, and second GS on the way. We have three parents, 88(father), 86(mother), 84(MIL) still with us, and I have logically been needing to help them more as they age. I got my act in gear during COVID, somewhat inspired by NOT becoming my parents. I lost 30 lbs and was exercising daily. Unfortunately, I am an “all in or not” person. Hubby and I seeing our family home and downsizing distractions, plus medical incident with my father and all their new needs, became an excuse (father has since passed and I am DPOA, Personal representative AKA executor, trustee, and oversee the majority of my mother’s care). A year and a half later, I gained 25 lbs and lost all my athletic improvements. I need to figure out balance and how to make health be a daily priority for life!

1/17 – 128.2 Makes absolutely no sense BUT I tracked perfectly yesterday, and I actually solidly under ate. So, this is where I am trusting my tracking and not the scale and moving ahead with confidence.
1/18 – 127.4 So “yesterday” cleared up, just as I anticipated. Did I end up back at 127.2 where I started? No, but also last night I faced eating a meal that I could not plan for, and was one for which it was necessary that I not pull out the “I track my food”, a point which I normally am more than willing to share as I think tracking is awesome (remember I like data). DH and I were invited for dinner by the hard working, but divisive/temperamental, head of our condo association. He is French, so the meal was actually quite healthy, but I am sure somewhat more than my normal calories. Plus he served champagne, then wine (I rarely drink), and possibly the best steak I have ever had (note that I never order steaks in restaurants, so no restaurant steak to compare to). Anyhow, overall happy with the number. Was a nice evening, and no condo drama occurred, which was a concern (I’m sure it was a concern for him as well). Happy Thursday all!
1/19 – 127.8 truly surprised. numbers were good yesterday and when I got up this morning I felt great. I totally expected a nice “down”. Continuing with the trusting my tracking. As I mentioned, numbers were good and calories were not too high, not too low, and did include a nice walk yesterday, even though I have walked farther at other times. Tonight’s dinner is the same as 1/16. Let’s see if I get the crazy “up” again. Fun experiment!
1/20 – 126.8 Sooooo, the up on 1/17 was not due to dinner on 1/16, as I had the exact same dinner last night and dropped instead of gaining. The mysteries of weight loss/maintenance continues. Grateful for the drop. I am getting back closer to the range in which I would like to remain.
The “boys” (AKA Harry and Han Solo, cats) are doing well…. Finally. Han is dropping a little (11 lb 12.5 oz), and Harry (10 lb 13 oz) who had been vomiting and dropping weight, is gaining nicely. My preference for both would be between 11 and 11.25 lb. I doubt Han will ever see that but I will settle for striving to keep him under 12 lb. Meanwhile, Harry might actually get to these numbers.
