January was a good start to the new year. Looking forward to making some progress in Feb. I enjoy walking outdoors daily, 8000 steps is my daily goal. I'm low carb, not keto but under 50 gm a day for sure. Best of luck to everyone lets do it to it.

Was hoping to lose 10 in January but didn’t - might have been too zealous since I lost 5 and that was with being sick. But I am going for 7 to get in the 180’s even if it is the top end 🀣

I started my journey in 2018 July 1st weighing 202.2. One year later I reached my goal weight of 142. Very exciting times. Unfortunately I ended up with health concerns and weight gain. now ready to get back to goal.

I’ve been trying to lose weight most of my life and I only achieved once which was very slowly, around 1 kg (2.2 lbs) per month but at the end of the year I lost 15 kg (33 lbs) which was great. Now I try to do that again! I want to lose 30 kg now, which will take 2 years. My main focus is consistency and having healthier habits. I’m not strict, it’s against my understanding, however sometimes I also want to see big changes in a short amount of time. But having higher expectations and comparing myself to others just have a negative impact on me. So I’m here for small changes and a long commitment. Every month I expect to lose 1-1,5 kg loss. If I can do more, that would be great though!

    Hi everyone!

I did this challenge for a few months when I first started my weight loss journey back in 2022 and really enjoyed it! Unfortunately, four months in, I broke my foot and spent the next three months in a boot and another two months in recovery and ultimately fell off the wagon. Well, I'm ready to get back at it! I'm going to weigh in once a week on Fridays :) Best of luck to everyone!

Okay, so I need some help here.

What is on my mind: As a diabetic I want to protect my kidneys (protein is tough on them). However, as an older person over 60 and someone trying to lose weight, I want to protect my muscle.

When I google my recommended protein intake, all the calculators and manual mathematical calculations put me at about 65 or 66 grams per day. That seems low to me and so very easy to reach. And yet I read all the posts on so many challenges where people are eating protein bars, drinking protein shakes etc. trying to reach their goals. I'm confused. Even Harvard Medical School is recommending 65 gr per my weight.

I would love it if those of you that have time will chime in on this for me. I'm looking for your opinions as well as your knowledge and/or experience with it. I need to know if I should tweak my macros. Right now I have mine set for 25% which gives me grams that are often much higher than the recommendations.

Thanks for any help you guys can give. I am posting this on a couple of my challenges and look forward to any and all responses.

    Donna
